Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

Arrggh! This 2ww is driving me round the twist!

munnzieb · 29/01/2005 21:18

sorry ES? (hmm ok then!)

MG they say the sperms need to be in your tubes if poss as you OV so in effect i'd bd the day b4 OV, leave a day then BD again. (apparently you're not ment to do it every day, althou if you'd just OV i don't see the harm in topping up your supply as it were)

expatinscotland · 29/01/2005 21:35

2ww=2 week wait. Time between ovulation and the dreaded AF - or a positive pregnancy test

munnzieb · 29/01/2005 21:39

lol, oh right sorry, it is a pain isn't it!

pipsy1 · 30/01/2005 08:13

OK I need your help - to save me trawling through all the posts - esp when I don't understand most of the abbrevs.
AF (got that one!) has just appeared which means Februaury we TTC in earnest! I have pretty regular 28 day cycle so does that mean day 14 is when I am likely to ovulate? I picked up about the discharge but whats all this about every other day? When should I pounce on the DH?? And thereafter, how often?

Hulababy · 30/01/2005 09:33

If you OV on day 14 - then CD1 is the day you have proper bleeding with your AF. So if CD1 is today, CD14 is Saturday 12th Feb (my birthday infact!). So you need to BD for at least a 2 or 3 days before that, and another day afterwards.

BUT bear in mond not everyone OVs on CD14 - hence the every other day BDing from around CD9 to CD18 (or earlier/later).

As well as observing CM - also look out for OV cramping pain.

Hulababy · 30/01/2005 09:33

Oh, and about AF

CD3 here, so month 6 about to start

jessicasmummy · 30/01/2005 11:59

can someone explain all these little acronyms you are using coz im lost on this thread! The first day of my last period was 17th Jan.... where the hell does that put me now??

Munni - jess went to bed for 2 hours so i feel a bit better now - still feel really sick! Not sure if thats alcohol or morning sickness!!!?? Honestly - the drink i think!

munnzieb · 30/01/2005 13:05

dh/dp-dear husband/partner
cd- cycle day (counted from the first full day of af)
af- aunt flow - period
ob- old bitch- period
dpo- days past ovulation
EWCM - egg white (as cervical fluid which is a sign of ovulation)
CM - cervical Mucus

(per velcro bot earlier in the thread)

What's happened to our stats thread I couldn't find it, will have anohter look for more abs.

munnzieb · 30/01/2005 13:06

you would be CD14 now if you're 1st day was the 17th Jan, ie/ a proper day of bleeding.

jessicasmummy · 30/01/2005 13:42

what does cd mean??? better be bagging dh tonight then

munnzieb · 30/01/2005 13:43

Cycle Day hon. You go pounce girl!

jessicasmummy · 30/01/2005 14:34

cheers mate.... i aint got a clue and my brain still isnt working! i think the alcohold diminished some of my brain cells! I didnt think i had that much to drink last night, but DH has reliably informed me that it was enough to pass out last night! Shouldnt have done it if TTC but hey, it was a one off!

sparkly · 30/01/2005 15:13

CD16 here and made the most of having DP at home since Friday! He's gone now - won't be back till Friday so any chances for this month have passed. Am hoping that given last month was 32 days we may just have made it. Trying not to obsess this month as much but know that in a week I will be! We're off to Barcelona next weekend so won't test until back from there at the earliest.

Welcome to all the new ttcers - am also fairly new here myself but everyone is so supportive, I miss them when i'm away from my pc for more than a day!

pipsy1 · 30/01/2005 17:41

Its great being here - TTC is a fun time but also a stressful time, and you can't really just go on about it to everyone in RL because its pretty boring to them. On here you can whinge and whine and rant and rave and ask questions. Its fab and we're all in teh same boat. Thanks for all the advice everyone

pipsy1 · 30/01/2005 17:43

I obviously get the idea of what BDing is, but what does it stand for??

jessicasmummy · 30/01/2005 18:27

i want to know that one too!!!!

pipsy1 · 30/01/2005 19:12

By the way Jessicasmummy, I am very impressed that you are TTC and little J is only 6 months! Its taken me 17 mths to even consider it! She must be very goodx

Hulababy · 30/01/2005 19:25

pipsy - BD is baby dance

Hulababy · 30/01/2005 19:25

Well, I think it is anyway!

jessicasmummy · 30/01/2005 20:01

jess is by no means good - im just a sucker for being pregnant! I loved it! Im hoping that because jessi s such a nightmare the next one might be an angel sent to make up for it!

munnzieb · 30/01/2005 20:39

well i'm still on for the twins option!, doesn't that make me mad, or just greedy??

jessicasmummy · 30/01/2005 20:55

it makes you a very brave person but im sure you would cope very well hon!

munnzieb · 30/01/2005 21:10

Hmm, I recon, but only if it's boys, I don't want girls - but Dh don't want boys so we're stale mate! either way as long as I have one, and it's healthy I don't care.

jessicasmummy · 30/01/2005 21:45

Exactly! We were adament we were having a boy first time round.... til she was born! Praying for a boy this time (PLEASE GOD GIVE ME A BOY!)
