Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

cockenzie - I know exactly how you feel. I know I am really lucky to have my ds and my dd but my heart still aches for no 3 and the mc in Sept makes me feel even more anxious. Littleweed, have done the tests at different times of the day yesterday and they were all BFPs. Today did them at around late morning and they were both BFNs. Perhaps Predictor aren't as sensitive as they claim? Need to cling on to that hope for my own sanity.....

Oh Sallie - poor you! You must be going crazy. It does seem unlikely that you would have had 3 positives and then a negative. Can you wait until the morning and then test again? Sending you lots of hugs in the meantime ((())).

Cockenzie - I feel just the same! No wise words I'm afraid as I don't seem to be able to make myself any less desperate for no 2 than I was for no 1. But lots of sympathy as I know exactly how you feel.

Welcome littleweed. Hope your stay here is brief (in the nicest possible way)

cockenzie · 05/01/2005 13:40

the only consolation (well if thats one) is to see that so mayny people are in the same situation as we are .u should see on the Baby center site. They all are desperate!! so that kind of makes me feel better, i am not the only one, i am not ABNORMAL as it were.hehe

cockenzie · 05/01/2005 13:40

in fact i must be fairly lucky as periods have come bak

RudyDudy · 05/01/2005 13:41

Hi Nelli - welcome to the club! This is a great place for going loopy during O and testing - we all do it, even though we should know better!!

hester · 05/01/2005 13:43

jeddah - are you there? Did you see Arabica's thread? She posted on 19 Dec saying she is 43 and feeling broody. Well blow me down, she's pg already! Hoorah, another strike for the old buzzards!

littleweed and Nelli29 - welcome to the thread. We get a lot of women pregnant here . Nelli, we all know how you feel and how agonising the monthly ritual of hopes raised and dashed is. We advise wine and chocolate. But seriously, try to keep calm and positive. Six months is the AVERAGE time it takes to get pregnant, so you've got nothing to worry about yet. You don't say how old you are but docs normally advise that if you are under 30 (or is it 35?) and don't get pg within 12 months you should seek advice. If you are over that age, and/or have reasons to worry about your fertility, you should seek help after six months. Might it put your mind at rest to talk to your GP about having some of the basic blood tests done, just to ensure you are ovulating OK?

Sallie, I responded to you on the other thread, but just to reiterate: Predictor is a crap test and YOU ARE PREGNANT . I'm so happy for you.

RudyDudy · 05/01/2005 13:52

hi hester - how are you? did you have a good break over the hols?

cockenzie · 05/01/2005 13:57

at the age of 34, it took me 2 months to get pg!!!

hester · 05/01/2005 14:10

Hi Rudy, I'm SO much better, thanks for asking. I realised this morning that if I had not miscarried I would now be 12 weeks pg, ready for my booking in and announcing the news to the world. AND I DIDN'T CRY. Whereas before christmas I was a walking human fountain - kept bursting into tears at work, on the bus, everywhere. The break did me so much good and gave me renewed strength for the months ahead. Physically I'm a bit rough (got a bit carried away with the chocolate and need to do some urgent my-body-is-a-temple stuff again) but emotionally I'm several hundred percent better.

And how are you?

cockenzie · 05/01/2005 14:36

its good to read ur post Hester and see how positive u sound. wishing u all the best luk for this year.xx

Morgan · 05/01/2005 14:48

Sallie - i did a predictor when i was testing a couple of weeks ago and it came up negative after one faint pos before. I then did clearblue which came up faint positive !! I'd not trust that test if i were you.

Fastasleep · 05/01/2005 17:34

Hey Hester just wanted to say a big WELL DONE to you! pats hester on the back!

pooka · 05/01/2005 17:35

Sallie, I've posted on the antenatal thread to say that I ditto Hester - predictor tests cruddy. Maybe wait a couple of days (ha - couldn't do this myself) and then if no AF try clearblue or f/r or Boots or anything other than predictor. The digital ones are great but pricey.

Fastasleep · 05/01/2005 17:36

I feel really weird by the way! I'm sort of hyper and can't stop cleaning (which is most unusual!) and I'm really really...damp..(tmi!) I'm at 14 dpo...when should I test? I don't want to go mad like last month

hester · 05/01/2005 17:43

Aw, thanks cockenzie and fastasleep - it's really great to have you cheering me on! I am on cd19/20 (can't quite remember) and today had my first twinge, which would normally throw me into the depths of despair. But now I know that I have NO clue as to what my body's signals mean, I'm determined to be calmer this year and try not to get so overwrought.

have to say, though, fastasleep - the hyper and dampness sound familiar to me... when is your period due?

Fastasleep · 05/01/2005 17:47

Oh hester i don't knoooooow cries lol it's usually (strangely) the 1st of every month bang on, but if you remember last month lol it was the 11th...i'm a bit clueless, just sure of when I O'd

RudyDudy · 05/01/2005 17:50

Really pleased to hear that hester. I hope you have success and much happiness in 2005. LOL at the temple bit - I put on 5lbs . Strictly no chocs for me no matter how I feel. Really want to get to my pre-pg weight before doing it all again!

I'm okay. Having a bit of a low after the hols today. And have really come down with a bump as am revising for exams in a couple of weeks time . Spent the morning in the library doing my head in and not much work which won't help but never mind, there's always tomorrow. (Does anyone else shout at and nag themselves really loud in their head or is it just me?! God, I just wouldn't shut up today!!) And here I am going on again - sorry!

How are you doing Sallie? Thinking about you - have you done another test?

Fastasleep · 05/01/2005 17:53

I'm thinking of you Sallie too - predictor = crap! Though so there's still lots of hope

Hulababy · 05/01/2005 17:54

(((hugs))) Sallie - nightmare, Not used Predictor but from what others say here it is best not to trust it. You can't get a false positive.

cockenzie · 05/01/2005 18:47

where is jb gone?

jeddah · 05/01/2005 18:47
