Maybe a nice shiny new thread will get us all enthusiastic again. I am on my rubbish diet so I only have nuts and beans to put out on the table. Oh and gin of course ;o) Anyone got any cakes to tempt me with?

Ding ding....let's...go

Do you think I have gone a bit mad

I'm here too!!

Hello ladies - I apologise in advance for any typos, am using DH's swanky new laptop and keep hitting buttons that do weird things....!

Also BIG apologies for the lack of posts recently - have been a little poorly and also very busy at work (hope things have calmed down a little bit for you now Bucky?).

As if I would ever let this thread die - I too need you all far too much!

So lovely to have you back SH - am truely about your holiday, it sounds like your DD had a fab time !

Hatty thank you (and you SH) for your advice re going to the Dr's - IKWYM about feeling 'in control', I just need to pluck up the courage from somewhere to make that appt now!

Hello and a big welcome to Sparkly! Thats a bugger about the 21day test - hope you can get it booked for next month.

MOB my DH feels the pressure sometimes too - I kind of forget that they're going through it all as well as us. Hope you had/are having a fab time away?

EI such a late night post from you! Hope you're ok and not working too hard?? Also really hope the relaxed (and lots of sex ) approach works for you this month.

GG Sounds like you had a very difficult time away at your BF's but glad to hear good has come out of the situation and you've taken a step forward by telling someone in RL. I hope she can be a great RL support for you. I really feel for you and your situation at the mo - when do you get your tests results back?

Bucky are you doing something fab for your birthday??! Has Molly dog learnt the art of peeing outside yet ? Have my fingers firmly crossed for you and your magic secret potion this month. I guess you should wait til CD30 to test so you're 14dpo as your LP is 12 isn't it? (Stalker alert!! )

Hope JB, Mibbes and Abby you're all doing ok?

Right I'm off now as am half way through epilating my legs (ouch!) needed a break between legs (so to speak!) and have written far too much to fit in an update on me!!! xx

PicknMix · 27/05/2008 22:18

Crikey - not content with just writing an entire essay, I have to post it twice!!!!! Sorry!

Knax · 27/05/2008 22:29

Who else waiting for 2ww and want to hold hands? Sparkly... and who else?
Knax x

SparklyPiliPala · 28/05/2008 09:04

PnM You're so brave elilating. I only tried once and it really hurt.
Knax Is it just me?

JollyBear · 28/05/2008 09:57

Hello everyone,

I'm disappointed not to return to some BFPs! Good luck to all those on the 2ww . My fingers and toes are crossed especially for bucky and MOB. GG It must have been a relief to finally tell someone in RL. Your BF sounds as though she was really supportive.

PnM Sorry to hear you have reached a TTC milestone. I thought hattys advice about how visiting a clinic can be reasurring was helpful. It might bring you luck like it did for hatty.

I'm still suffering with sickness - I had a few days in hospital last week being rehydrated on a drip. Sorry for the short post and for not saying hello to everyone. > for all

GryffinGirl · 28/05/2008 12:35

hello ladies

Wishing a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Bucky and may happy returns for the day and a lovely BFP for you

Oh jolly - I am really worried about you, you poor thing. It is not fun at all and I can't believe that you have been in hospital on a drip . I hope they are taking really good care of you and it passes soon. We are here for you when you need us. I am sure there are also threads from ladies who have also had hyper-emesis during pregnancy, who understand on MN, and of course the old 2WW gang are always here for shanging out with . Big ((((((Hugs)))))))))))) to you and I hope your lovely DH is being super nice too and doing everything roudn the house.

Hello picknmix - I remember the 12 month milestone. It is very hard, but also it is very liberating to go to the doctors and do something about getting a BFP. I hope you get your BFP really, really soon. Taking that first step to make an appointment with your GP is hard, but it is very positive too. If there is anything preventing you TTC, it is better to know about it, because then you can take definite steps. In some ways it takes the pressure off IYKWIM. I know DH thinks that - tis better than wondering((((((((((hugs)))))))))))

Big welcome and hello to sparkling and knax - hope the 2WW flies past for you and there are lovely BFP's for you both at the end of it when the wait will have been worth it.

Nothing to report here for me today. I am CD6 and because I have the HSG in a week's time in order to swirl radioactive dye around me formerly "pristine" tubes (what a lovely thought!), we have been told not to have any BD-ing at ALL until it is over from CD1 . Not even with ...erm....protection which is disappointing. It feels very odd to restrain ourselves after using every moment to BD when TTC. It may be that my HSG appointment is cancelled (they are over booked and I am on the waiting list - great ) in which case, it will be wasted abstinence. Half of me is tempted to try anyway and test early . What do you ladies think?

i am absolutely swamped with work at the moment, hence lack of posting. I'm in the office all hours of the day and night and under quite a lot of pressure. Grrrr, I'm feeling all stressed and fed up . Part of the problem is that I am distracted and not focused on work because of tests and TTC which has resulted in minor slip ups, but they are not forgiven easily, pressure mounts and so the stress gets worse. Yuck. Does anyone else feel that? TTC does spill out into your working and every-day life, doesn't it? Half of me wants a BFP so I know where my life is going - does that make sense to you ladies? I can't plan a career, job change, house move or anything until I get a BFP, because if we never have DCs, the move to a bigger house and/or taking a step off the career ladder will be for nothing. But I can't think of anything else but a BFP, but I can't do anything else until I get one. Does anyone else feel like that? Crap isn't it.

I promise i will be less of a misery guts soon

How are MOB, abby and the others. Big wave and big hello to everyone and sorry to anyone missed out. And to all your lurkers too - come and join us!

mibbes · 28/05/2008 13:43

Happy Birthday Bucky ! What you doing ? Loads of great stuff I hope !
Sparkly yes that's the spirit - sore wrist sounds like the type of symptom that is regularly spotted on here
jollybear you poor love - do you have date for scan yet ?
GG sorry to hear you are feeling bit stressed with the whole business - it definitely does take over, but then quite rightly because it is not like wanting a new pair of shoes it is the biggest thing you'll ever want in your life. You'll get there soon hun with those super-shiny tubes - just need to get those swimmers whipped into shape
I am well - had a bit of MS last week but all gone now - am 13 weeks - hurray ! belly starting to swell a little bit

Knax · 28/05/2008 20:10

hi everyone,
thanks gg for welcpme. i know exactly what you mean my life is on hold due too ttc, i just want to move on, can't think about work etc
i have a horrible feeling af will arrive tomorrow but hoping not! if it doesn't arrive by fri am i'll test then.
love to all, and fingers crossed for all you 2wws
knax x

GryffinGirl · 28/05/2008 21:03

fingers crossed AF stays away knax mibbes!! - stay with us for a bit, even if you do have a growing belly

Nothing much more to report from me (still in the office beavering away! ). The HSG appointment was confirmed for next Monday, so DH and I have to abstain, which is a bit dull. No sex and no booze makes DH a frustrated boy this week . He is more than a little irritable! I am trying to get him to go for acupuncture 'cause i read that was great for swimmers needing zimmers and it might chill him out too. He's pretty about it though!

hello to everyone else . MOB any news with you? When is your AF due?

GGx

Bucky2008 · 28/05/2008 21:52

Hello gang, come shang out with me and have some birthday nibbles. I have pineapple and cheese on sticks, finger sandwiches and canapes and ice cream soda (several flavours).

Well birthday fluctuated between being totally dreadful and quite nice, depending on the hour. It started off at 2am because Finn is afraid of thunder so he howled till about 3am (sht), then Molly woke up at her usual 5.30am (sht) but then I came down to lots of doggy kisses and hugs (nice), then I went for a walk and Finn and Molly ran off to torment a Great Dane (sht), then the train was delayed (sht) but then I got nice cakes for work and everyone made me tea (nice), then we had a team lunch and I was given a big bouquet of flowers (nice), then I had to leave before dessert and I went to South East London and had an argument with a woman over a sofa which I had said could not be moved that was moved (sht), then my cab didnt arrive for 45 mins (sht) then I got home and it was raining (sh*t), then I came inside and DP was back from Blackpool and had a huge bouquet of red roses for me and pink champagne and had cooked me a candle lit dinner (v. nice). And now I am writing to you (nice).

Anyway now I have bored you all with a blow by blow diatribe about my birthday on to the important stuff...

GG Yes of course I know how you feel, although I have trained myself to detach as I was too distracted. I was logging on to MN about 3 times an hour at work and planning the life that I was going to have once LO turned up. That last month with the temping made me a little loco, but I am back to normal now really. CD27 today for me....no sign of AF yet, but I am sure she will turn up, probably today to add another (sh*t) to my birthday list

Jollybear > how awful for you. . Glad you checked in though we missed you, it has been quiet on here recently.

Mibbsey Eelcatcher how goes it? Is the Miblet growing large? Thank you for my birthday wishes.

In fact everyone who sent me birthday wishes thank you.

PicknMix Epilating????, Does all the hair come out and does it last long? I have always wondered. Molly hasn't had an accident for a while but cannot be left unattended as she doesn't know how to ask to go out or to hold on if we don't let her out. I have new pictures I will add to my profile.

Welcome Knax and nice to see you Sparkly...and lots of birthday cupcakes for all my other MN buddies. MOB where are you? Hatty I have four cakes for you...one for you and one for each triplet (oh sorry we aren't supposed to joke are we ).

Oh and one last thing....when I had a aching wrist, the doctor told me that that was probably why I wasn't pregnant....if you're using your hand the swimmers are missing their target.... So whilst carpal tunnel syndrome is an actual symptom, an aching wrist may not be a good one

OP posts:
Bucky2008 · 28/05/2008 22:00

oooh and I haven't tested yet!!! ...Can I wait three more days till CD30???

OP posts:
GryffinGirl · 28/05/2008 22:07

test Bucky, test

ScaryHairy · 28/05/2008 22:29

LOL at all the sore wrists around here Bucky I am glad you've had a (partly) nice birthday and that there were flowers, dinner and champagne. Hurrah for Mr Bucky! He knows what side his bread is buttered! (Also, I was jealous so now I have a secret potion too. Ner ner ner ner ner )

I'm sorry to hear you've ben so poorly Jollybear, but honestly it will all be worth it in 6 months' time or so. If there is anything we can do to cheer you up, just shout.
How are the legs Picknmix? I always heard that epilating hurts more than waxing... is that true? Anyway it's lovely to see you and your posh shiny laptop.
How are the quads Hatty? (sorry )

Welcome Knax. Wishing you a short stay on this thread (although naturally you'll never want to leave) and a nice fast BFP.
GG you're right about ttc taking over your brain. At least there is half of the cycle when I don't think about it too much... It's good that your HSG has been confirmed so at least your self-control won't be in vain. Although no doubt it will turn out that Mr GG's swimmer's have improved to Olympic standard in the past couple of months, with all the man-vits and diet coke.
Hi to everyone else, Ei, Mibbes, Sparkling, MOB and everyone else.
No news from here as ever. I may be about to ovulate which is a waste of an egg. I am going to a wedding at the weekend wearing a bright orange and pink dress (which I actually bought the day I met some of you ) which requires me to be brown, so I am sitting here topping up my tan with the world's stinkiest fake tan. I smell so vile I rather think I should write today off and go to bed. Good night all!

ScaryHairy · 29/05/2008 19:30

Hello everyone (or noone if I am talking to myself again)

Today has been a bit of a shitty day. I was perfectly happy, getting excited about seeing old friends at the weekend at a wedding and when I got home the nanny told me that two of my daughter's friends' mothers are pregnant and are due within a couple of weeks of when my bean should have been born.

So shit shit shit.

I know I have no real right to be upset and am lucky to have my lovely daughter. But seriously, are all of these pregnancies designed to provoke me?? [paranoid]

And I reckon I ovulated today. Another egg wasted. I am not waiting any more and am going to go for it again next cycle, even if it is a couple of weeks earlier than what I have been told to do.

Hope your days are going better.

(did you test yet Bucky?)

Knax · 29/05/2008 19:59

Hi Scary,
You're not alone! Sorry to hear re all the pg people upsetting you.
Brazilian was the worst!! had it once and never again.
No AF today yet but I feel she's on her way - hope not of course. Will test tomorow or sat am if she not arrived.
knax x

ScaryHairy · 29/05/2008 20:33

Hi Knax
Let's hope your period stays away, hey?
I'm always happy when people on this thread get BFPs.. it's when it's people I vaguely know but are not friends with who get pregnant that I get .

SparklyPiliPala · 29/05/2008 21:14

Hi ladies,
No real symptoms from me at 9dpo. Wrist feels better but think that is because I haven't had much MN time in 2 days .
Jolly You poor thing . BIG [hugs] to you. Hope the sickness improves v soon. xx
GG Thanks for the welcome. I know exactly what you mean about TTC. I was thinking about booking a big hol for next summer but I could have a new born or be heavily pregnant. TTC does seem to put your life on hold. Hope they don't cancel your appointment!!
Mibbes [waves]
Knax Fingers crossed that TEW takes a long holiday
Bucky Thanks for the welcome and a belated Happy Bday to you. Did you know that it was Ei's birthday too? How have you been? Have you given into testing yet?
Scary It seems like everyone around you is pregnant when you are TTC - we have 5 friends who have had babies in the last few months and it's so hard to be happy for them. [hugs] to you. xx

GryffinGirl · 29/05/2008 22:55

hello all!

i am still at work . It's a good job DH and me are banned from TTC pending the HSG because I don't have bl**dy time for BD-ing. The appointment was confirmed, so I get the rare pleasure of being flushed out with blue stuff on Monday afternoon . Wish me luck. Needless to say i ...erm...can't wait

Ei - i didn't know it was your birthday too. Happy Birthday and I hope you got a lovely sparkly present from your DP and were thoroughly spoiled. I think I can guess what you and Bucky wished for this year when you blew out your birthday candles a BFP maybe....??. It is my birthday on Tuesday, so there are a whole gaggle of Gemini girls on the 2WW thread! I didn't imagine last birthday that I'd still be here

Thanks to sparklypilipala for telling me about Ei, 'cause i don't hang out on other TTC threads at the moment due to no time so wouldn't know. Hope you are ok today sparkly - when are you testing? Fingers crossed for your BFP this month.

scary - grrr! Everyone seems to be PG at the moment 'cept us . My run of acquaintence BFP's all happened about this time last year and their babies were born in the spring. I remember being stricken hearing about it and I do wish them well, but the sense of "why her (she's a cow )and not me?" is always there, especially when they giggling/moch blushingly tell you that it was a first time accident really, we didn't expect it to happen so quickly blah blah blah. Is it only me in my TTC mean-ness who thinks they are secretly proud it was so easy ?? I say, Stuff 'em scary and come and shang out here. I know you will have another lovely DC soon. If you feel ok in your self, I don't see why you shouldn't lop a couple of weeks off the enforced time limit on TTC .

picknmix - I think I'd faint if I epilated my leg hair. i am a complete woose with pain. i am actually really lucky to be relatively hairless, though still have to de-foliate, so tend to be a bit lax. DH doesn't approve . Hope you are feeling cheerier today.

jolly - still thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery after all your sickness. Make the doctors give you what you need to stop it. Let us know how you are, 'cause we miss your happy, smiley personality and want to hear all about jollycub.

MOB - big wave to you. Are you testing soon? I have a good feeling about you this month, mrs. I am sure there is a BFP out there for you.

If anyone fancies another 2WW meet up later in the summer, probably in London, let me know. It might be nice to get something in the diary.

have a lovely evening everyone.

GGx

PicknMix · 29/05/2008 23:35

Happy belated birthday to you,
Happy belated birthday to you,
Happy belated birthday dear Bucky and Ei,
Haaaaaaaaaappy belated biiiiiiiiirthday toooooooo yooooooooou

Hope you both had lovely days - Bucky how lovely to receive flowers and a nice cooked dinner from your DP! Did you test yet????????

My legs are hairless and smooth now, thank you to everyone for asking ! I actually find it a whole lot less painful than waxing but maybe I'm a bit strange like that - have to do it about every 3 weeks so very worth it!

Have just been shopping with my MIL. Oh. My. God. Somebody stop me the next time I suggest it.....

I bought this dress off ebay and it arrived yesterday - love it love it love it!! Have a pair of killer red heels to liven it up a little and have just purchased some 'hold it all in' big knickers from m&s so I'm all set.

GG I know exactly what you mean about ttc meaning you end up putting things on hold. I'm in a job I don't like just because I know they'd offer a good maternity package. I am supposed to be going to South Africa nxt yr for a friends wedding in April but I haven't booked a ticket yet 'just in case'. I was going to go on a surfing holiday with my mates in the summer but I'm not 'just in case'. The list is endless. And really quite ridiculous if I think about it rationally. So yes, I know exactly what you mean. Really pleased your HCG is all booked though - not the best b'day pressie in the world I guess though!!!

SH - as GG says, you know your body best so I think starting a few weeks early surely can't hurt can it? You're right - its the 'acquaintances' who get pg that make me , not people who I love and care about. Esp people who 'just slipped up' ()

Glad to hear the wrist is a bit better Sparkly

Do let us know if you test knax - fingers crossed af stays away for you!

JB - what you're going through sounds truely horrible, massive massive to you xx

Hi and big apologies to everyone else I have missed xx

I'm off to a chocolate making 'experience' tomorrow in London and am very much looking forward to it .

Tis only cd12 for me but DH is somewhat determined this month so I'm off to bed now , night all xx

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 30/05/2008 02:14

hi ladies

hello to everyone else
jolly sorry bout the MS i hope it gets better for you soon xx
i am now an official stay at home mum until i find a new job my pay entitlement has run out for my nursing course and i have had to leave as we cant afford for me to be working full time aswell as not earning so rather than callin myself unemployed im a SAHM!! ahh well i was far too stressed out on the course so maybe now i can get back to the chilled out me of 4 years ago!!
hope everyone else is doing ok
xx ei xx

Knax · 30/05/2008 06:42

I just got a BFP!!
Can't beleive it!

07mumstheword · 30/05/2008 08:30

Congratulations Knax

Belated Happy Birthday to Bucky & Ei and a Happy Birthday to GG for Tues I hope all your birthday wishes come true. I'm a Gemini too (16th Jun)

GG Good Luck on Monday.

ScaryHairy · 30/05/2008 09:08

Wooo hooo, so glad this thread has woken up again!

Firstly, Happy birthday to Ei. I hope you had a great day and were thoroughly spoiled by your DH. It's too bad you've had to come off your course, although you sound relaxed about it which is good (and we all know what being relaxed helps, don't we...). It does make me a bit though that the system will help you partly train to be a nurse and not get you all the way there. I thought we needed nurses and where the heck is the benefit in public money being paid to half train people? It makes me [grr] - not at you but at the silly system.

Knax congratulations on your lovely BFP. See I wished you a short stay, and there you have it. Maybe I have magical powers? or maybe I am deluded. Now you have to tell us what your symptoms were so we can obsess in minute detail in future cycles.

07MTW Hello and how are things going for you? You have the same birthday as the mouthy mini-scary. Is being gobby a gemini trait?

PicknMix I can't see the dress but totally approve of RED KILLER HEELS (the best words in the English language after BFP). I have bought some Spanx to contain my mummy tummy. They don't deliver the size 8 fabulousness I was hoping for (maybe I should put down the pain au chocolat, it might make typing easier) but they give support so I don't have to tire my abdominal muscles out by sucking them in!! (Most hated words in the English language are "he just waves his willy at me and I get pregnant". Oh FECK OFF)

Sparkly try harder... invent symtoms if necessary!

GG thanks for cheering me up. How about we all stop putting off our big holidays/house moves/job moves and whatever else. If we get pregnant and have to cancel, it will be worth the money. But I just think putting our lives on hold is pointless as babies seem to come when it is least convenient. Loads of luck for Monday. I reckon this test will just confirm how pristine your bits truly are.

Have a great day and weekend, and big waves to the rest of you

abbymeg · 30/05/2008 10:04

Hello everyone! Sorry I'm not mentioning everyone by name - I have to keep the typing brief as I'm laid down doing this. Have managed to tear a muscle in my back. OWWWWW!!!
So, my holiday is being spent trying to get better in time to go back to work .

Scan next week, am quite nervous. I'll let you know how I get on.

GG good luck with the blue liquid. I really hope it goes okay.

happy belated birthday to Bucky.

Congratulations to Knax.

I will write more as soon as I can upright myself!!!!

Bags of baby dust and kinky white fertility robes to you all

Knax · 30/05/2008 12:29

Thanks everyone,
Scary, it must have you that sent the good luck!
I didn't really have any symptoms apart from mild cramping which I thought was AF on her way, so that doesn't really help the research. I did imagine I had a mild nausea for a minute or so which could have been related.
Lots of luck to everyone, there must be luckiness in the air. keep me posted
