Maybe a nice shiny new thread will get us all enthusiastic again. I am on my rubbish diet so I only have nuts and beans to put out on the table. Oh and gin of course ;o) Anyone got any cakes to tempt me with?

Ding ding....let's...go

Do you think I have gone a bit mad

woweeeee A BFP was needed - we have had a drout ! Congratulations to knax. So pleased for you!

scary and picknmix - it's funny on the whole "put things of until I get a BFP", it does leave you in limbo to some extent. It's not just mindset, but practicalities. I have booked holidays for later in the year which I certainly won't go on if I do ever get a BFP, but a BFP will be worth cancelling for. Actually, we booked one yesterday for Malaysia and jungly Borneo . I was a bit worried actually in case we end up in the IVF queue then and get bumped to the back, but DH was adamant that his life and recreation shouldn't go on hold, so I gave in. It will be fun and the chances of a BFP are as remote as the village we are apparently going to . What will be, will be, che sera sera, etc etc . My TTC indecision is more to do with the the big life decisions like career. I am fed up and want a change, but don't want to move now after building up a brilliant maternity package and job moves are stressful too. Grrrr . Maybe i should just shout "SOD IT", throw on a kaftan and escape to a hippy commune in Katmandu to take my mind off TTC and put off all the decisions I have been putting off . Maybe the Himalayan mountain air and lentils will be good for DH's swimmers

picknmix I LOVE LOVE LOVE that dress!! Gorgeous and I bet you'll look utterly fab in it! I saw a girl wearing it a few weeks ago walking across London Bridge and I nearly mugged her for it! I am . Killer red heels will be perfect too. Ha, your DH will be even more exciteable when he sees you in that outfit, missy!! I have a wedding to go. Got the dress, but it is a big hat type of wedding, so will need to find somehting to stick on my head and a fab pair of heels. Might be tricky, I am too short for hats. I look like a mushroom if I wear one with a brim wider than my face .

scary - you are right, all Geminis are very mouthy . I am living proof

abby - get well soon and hope your half term isn't ruined with a bad back. How is Abbymeg-let? let us know how your scan goes. You will be fine and you'll be able to see your little bean . Awwww

Bucky - WHERE ARE YOU AND DID YOU TEST? I am getting all excited

hello to 07MTW, MOB mibbes and lovely jollybear

thank goodness the thread is all lively again! I am

hattyyellow · 30/05/2008 16:01

Afternoon all!

Sorry not been on for a while! Had my booking in appointment on Tuesday which all went fine until the midwife decided to feel my tummy and decided that because I was measuring big that there was a 50/50 chance I was expecting twins again!

Much as I adore my girls, this wasn't quite something that filled me with joy - twin toddlers and twin babies so have spent the last few days in sheer panic!

Luckily I got an early scan to finally put me out of my misery and it's.....just the one!!!

All looks fine, little billie (as our toddlers have christened him/her) was happily snoozing and then woke up and gave a wiggle and did some thumb sucking. It was soooo lovely.

They've put me back two days so still a week and a half until I get to the magic 12 weeks - but isn't there some stat about if you see a healthy heartbeat at 10 weeks the risk of miscarriage drops?

Happy Birthday all you Gemini girls! Waves to everyone - you can make all the jokes you want about quads now! Err, hang on that wouldn't make much sense now would it...

beaniesteve · 30/05/2008 16:03

Hello all. Haven't been in this thread for a couple of weeks. Am now on the 2WW and will be on holiday when my period is due with no internet access so after Saturday will not be able to post

we'll see

hattyyellow · 30/05/2008 16:05

Sorry forgot to say Congratulations Knax !

Waving to Beanie - how will you cope without the 2ww thread!

(I don't like these new emoticons

SparklyPiliPala · 30/05/2008 16:10

Hi all,
Still no symptoms from me - boring!!
GG Best of luck for appointment. I have read lots about BFPs afterwards because the dye can clear everything out and make you more fertile. I hope this is the case for you. I prob won't test until mid week depending on temperature.
Ei You were posting later last night!! Hope you're ok. x
Scary I didn't like the smell of banana yday (this is a true fact - i'm not even making it up lol)...I'll try thinking of really random symptoms over the next days. Hope you're feeling better.
Knax Wow, congrats!! That is great news. {grin]
MTW [waves] Early birthday wishes to you.
Abbeymeg Hi! Sorry to hear you have a bad back .
Hatty Congrats to you on your scan.
BS Have a lovely holiday. Fingers crossed for you.

beaniesteve · 30/05/2008 16:19

I think I will find not drinking to excess a bit difficult. We're going to see my OH's mum and last time she got me so drunk I farted loudly infront of everyone. I had known her 2 days

I'm sure the sun and sangria will keep my mind off things, but I bet on the day I am due I will be slightly excited. Not sure if I will take any tests with me.

I have a very creamy discharge today [TMI!] but am only 2 days past ovulation so no symptoms.

I should read back and see what everyone has been up to

ScaryHairy · 30/05/2008 16:31

Just a quickie to Hatty to say yes, if you see a heartbeat at or after 7 weeks the risk of miscarriage drops dramatically.

Everything will be fine (and hurrah for a singleton!)

Bucky2008 · 30/05/2008 22:04

Hey girlies

Belated happy birthday, birthdaybuddy Ei

Congrats Hatty on just the one bambino.

Borneo GG are you out of YOUR MIND?????? There will be bugs there. And while we are talking about brave explorers PicknMix the MIL shopping sounds quite daunting too

How you doing Scary, thanks for keeping the thread alive.

Abby a torn muscle ...jeepers creeper...that must be painful. Take it easy Chica.

and begins her rant....

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....stupid fat stinking dumbass uninvited tormented stalker witch is here..... AF is at my house everyone . The stupid secret bloody potion (PreSeed)didn't work OBVIOUSLY..... Next thing you hear I'll be caught buying a baby off Ebay. I hear they sell them there these days. Anyway, I guess my appointment on the 12 June can't come soon enough.

07mumstheword · 31/05/2008 07:40

Bucky Bloody evil witch. I'm so sorry to hear she turned up again. Let's hope you get some quick and positive action at your appt on 12th. Keep your chin up. (((hugs)))

GG Wow Borneo that's incredible...if sods law doesn't get you a BFP now then I'll eat my hat

Hatty at the possibility of another set of twins, I can understand hour relief at the one. I was told that if you get a HB at 6 wks then the chances of MC reduce significantly, you'll be fine.

Is being gobby a Gemini trait?.... of course it is, that is proven by us lot

Hi to Hairy Ei Beaniesteve PnM Abby MOB Sparkly and anyone else I've missed.

Madoldbird · 31/05/2008 10:02

Back from hols

Just saying hi - got to go and do boring things now - shopping, washing etc, but will be back later - after i've read all the posts!!!

abbymeg · 31/05/2008 20:12

Bucky sorry about AF. She's evil. I hope your appointment goes well, and that you get some answers, so that you can postpone your ebay search for now!

Hatty I've got a book that says if you see a HB at 8 weeks, the chance of miscarriage drops to 3% (before this, around 16%). Saying that, I had scan at 7.5 and saw HB, but still worrying like mad that something will have gone wrong when I go for scan on tuesday at 11.2.

abbymeg · 31/05/2008 20:13

Sorry - big waves to everyone else . I am still laid out. Stupid muscle.

SparklyPiliPala · 01/06/2008 09:40

12DPO today. Pre-AF spotting usually begins 13DPO so there's still plenty of time for TEW to show her ugly face. All the usual pre-AF symptoms from me (sore boobs, spotty chin) so I don't think it's my month but we'll see. I think I'll test either Tues/Weds. These next few days wil drrraaaggggg!!

Beanie Have a fab hol. Hope you come back with a BFP

Bucky I'm so sorry she got you . Good luck with the appointment.

Hi to everyone else. xxx

beaniesteve · 01/06/2008 10:52

Bucky - sorry your period came

I somehow seemed to think I was going to be on Holiday by now but we're not flying 'til tomorrow

Am now about 4 DPO and my OH has asked me 'how many tests are you taking on holiday?', I replied 'none!' but now am trying to stop myself from putting one into the suitcase, or two . To be honest I would like to have a test free week and a bit, and adopt the 'ah well if my period comes then it comes' attitude. Will be much more relaxing though I will of course be thinking 'am I pregnant' all the time.

ScaryHairy · 01/06/2008 22:02

Bugger about TEW Bucky. Send her round to mine and I will give her a good kicking for you.

Have a great holiday Beanie.

Excellent symptom spotting, Sparkly

How were the hols MOB?

Hope the back is feeling better Abby

Hello to the rest of you. Good luck for tomorrow GG.

This has been a knackering weekend. We went to a lovely wedding but I did a stupid bloody silly thing and had a cigarette, which was none too clever. It's awfully hard to resist having a party fag when I have a child-free night out. Oh well.

My egg hatched yesterday, so about 5 more weeks to go and I will be back on here in my official capacity.

SparklyPiliPala · 02/06/2008 08:31

Morning ladies,
Same symptoms from me but no AF (yet). I'm sure she will be showing her ugly face soon. Going to be knicker checking all day today for pre-af spotting. Sorry for TMI!!

Beanie I wonder if you managed to resist packing a test .
Scary Hope you had a fab time out. It's great to let your hair down isn't it .

PicknMix · 02/06/2008 13:51

Bucky!!! That awful evil cowbag ? am so and sorry to hear you?re back to cd1 again. I?ll go round to SH?s and join in with the kicking if you want?.

Good luck this afternoon GG, hope its not too uncomfortable for you and also that it helps to clear your system ready for a BFP next month ? especially so if you?re considering donning a kaftan and moving to Kathmandu if a BFP is not forthcoming. Hope you managed to find a hat and heels for your wedding??

Sparkly fingers crossed for you that your knicker checking does not result in anything today

SH - I?m sure just one crafty cigarette wont hurt, hope you had a fab time tho!! How did the Spanx hold out? Did they keep it all in and save you from the tummy-sucking-in-causing-you-to-look-constipated look (or is that just me?!) . I agree re the Killer Red Heels ? every self respecting woman should own at least one pair!

Hope you have a lovely holiday Beanie

How?s the back Abby? Sounds very painful, hope you are managing to get lots of rest. What day is your scan this week?

How was your holiday MOB???

Huge sigh of relief for you Hatty at there being only 1 bean in there!

Hi MTW!! How are you feeling? Not long til your 20 wk scan is it?

Last but by no means least ? big congrats to Knax!!

Think I have ov?ed a bit early this month ? cd13 so think I?m back on the 2ww already. Which is nice as wont have to wait so long (although lp is 16 days so still a little way to go yet!!). Deffo got in enough bd?ing this month so if it doesn?t work then I think my hand will be forced and I shall have to visit the Dr. Of course, I may not have even ov?ed yet so will keep bding just in case

hattyyellow · 02/06/2008 14:07

GG hope it goes okay today - keep us posted..

PnM really hope it's your month.

Bucky so very sorry to hear AF turned up. Evil old witch. Hope you're okay..did you think any more about going to get checked out?

Abbey how is the back?

Beanie have a great holiday!

Scary I don't think one crafty fag can hurt..

Sparkly good luck! Lets start another chain of BFP's .

Not much news from me, have a nuchal scan end of next week so get to see the little nipper again - will be lovely to wave at it again. I think they can give a good prediction of gender as well so will be interested to see what they say.

Guess what I'm on a deadline as usual and I'm on mumsnet as usual - might try logging off rather than just minimising the screen and pretending I can't see any new messages

beaniesteve · 02/06/2008 14:12

have not packed a test, still time though!

Good luck Picknmix and everyone else who's knicker checking.

Madoldbird · 02/06/2008 14:13

Hello everyone

Sorry i haven't been on again over the weekend - i have only just emerged from under a mountain of ironing

Lots to catch up on - i am glad to see the thread alive and well!

Knax Hello, and congratulations!!

sparkly hello, and good luck with testing over the next day or so.

scary welcome back from your travels! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. With regard to ttc again a couple of weeks early - go for it! If you feel ready then i'm sure your body is (IYSWIM)

JB I am so sorry you have continued to be so poorly. I hope things improve soon for you. That little cub has got a lot to answer for!!

EI sorry you had to leave your course - but i hope that your new chilled life leads to a lovely BFP for you! (a belated happy birthday to you as well)

GG I hope your HSG goes ok. No doubt you will have gorgeous tubes as well, to match the rest of your spotless insides Am very of your holiday - sounds fantastic. I'm sure any IVF or other treatments needed can be fitted in around it, and getting away and relaxing will be so important if you are going down that path.

PnM Hope you had a fantastic time with all that chocolate the other day!! Sounds like your DH is nice and "keen" ATM what with that and chocolate, you must be going around with a grin on your face these days!!!

BS hope you have a lovely holiday, and here's hoping you have some good news for us on your return

Bucky so, so sorry AF turned up. It's not fair. Hope you're ok. Belated happy birthday to you as well. I think i'll get a baby on ebay as well - sounds an awful lot easier!!

abby hope you are in less pain now. Good luck with the scan this week.

hatty sound like you had a bit of a worrying time last week! I'm so glad billie is doing fine, and also that he / she is alone in there

mibbes hope you and miblet are well!

PHEW!! Have i forgotten anyone? If i have, it's not intentional!

Well, I'm 10DPO today, and not much to report really. Feeling decidedly pessimistic about our chances this month. I don't have any tests in to do a sneaky one, and i'm not even feeling the urge really. I am pretty much convinced that given we have timed things well for a good few months, and nothing has happened, we are going to need some kind of help to conceive. DH did say that we would start tests if there was no joy this month, now he wants to wait until a year is up. I pointed out that we should think in cycles as opposed to calendar months (as some of my cycles have been very short) but he didn't seem to register that. maybe he is just apprehensive.

PicknMix · 02/06/2008 19:48

Evening all, just checking in to see if gg has posted - hope you're doing ok.

Also wanted to say hi to mob - i found an excel spreadsheet was the way to get my dh to understand (but he is a bit of a geek !). He loves the graphs on ff as well, appeals to his practical side methinks. But i can understand your dh's apprehension - i feel the same!!

Hope you're doing ok as well bucky

Did you meet your deadline ok hatty?

Also, think i am a very bad cyber buddy and have forgotten to ask how you're doing now ei? Hope being course'less' is suiting you and that your birthday was lovely.

Am off to cook dinner - just trying to decide whether my Quorn Escalopes will be safe to eat if they went out of date on the 31st!!

SparklyPiliPala · 02/06/2008 19:54

Hi all.
No spotting for me yet and AF symptoms still around. Got slapped wrists from mibbes and fruity because I tested at 430pm with a tesco ownbrand and got a BFN. I'm not very hopeful but am keeping my fingers tightly crossed anyway.
PnM I hope your egg is a lucky one and that the 2WW passes very quickly.
Hatty Aw scans are so exciting. .
Beanie Did you manage to resist?
Madoldbird Thanks for luck - I think I'm going to need it!! My DP said the same thing about tests and then declared today that we should wait until month 12. If it was happening to their bodies then there would be no hanging around .

GryffinGirl · 03/06/2008 07:59

hello everyone and thanks for asking after me. Sorry i didn't post last night, but didn't feel that great.

HSG wasn't my favourite experience ever! It was the full hospital gown and speculum treatment and all fairly awkward. It was a bit uncomfortable having everything flushed through, like very bad period pains, until the end when I think they may have used a bit much fluid or soemthing and it was absolute agony . I yelped out a few times and felt pretty shaky, but DH was with me afterwards. It was good to have someone to take me home. I also have to take loads of anti-biotics, including the ones you take...erm.....not orally . you should have seen that look on DH's face when i (jokingly!) asked him to adminster them, . His face was picture, ha ha ha. On the upside, the doctor said everything looked perfectly normal with the old tubes and so I probably remain "pristine" . Next stop is a follow up appointment for DH and me to get the final pronouncement and to understand what our next step is. That's 23rd June.
Hope everyone is ok.

Sorry not to check on you all individually, but have a hellish day ahead at work , but will try to pop in later.

SparklyPiliPala · 03/06/2008 11:27

Still no AF for me. High temp but BFN again this morning. Ah well!!

GG Sorry to hear that HSG was painful but great news that everything looks fine. Hope your hellish day passes quickly.

07mumstheword · 03/06/2008 14:36

GG Sounds like a very unpleasant proceedure, hope you're feeling better today. At least it looks like you have good clean tubes Good luck on the 23rd!
