Maybe a nice shiny new thread will get us all enthusiastic again. I am on my rubbish diet so I only have nuts and beans to put out on the table. Oh and gin of course ;o) Anyone got any cakes to tempt me with?

Ding ding....let's...go

Do you think I have gone a bit mad

OOOOPS - ignore me, read your post wrong!

Good Luck with your 2ww Beanie!!!!!!

ScaryHairy · 04/05/2008 20:22

Hello, very quiet on here this weekend (you're all outside enjoying the nice weather, I bet).

Picknmix it is not unusual not to have a dip before ovulation and it does not mean that your cycle is anovulatory. I get a dip about 50% of the time and have an anovulatory cycle about once every 18 months.

bucky I hope you are feeling a bit better today. You've got your appointment with the other GP this week, haven't you? If you're worried, take a copy of the relevant bits of the NICE Guidelines with you and MAKE them refer you. There is no sensible reason why they wouldn't.

I hope everyone else is ok. Not much to report here. I was in Boots yesterday buying condoms (because I have been given a STERN warning not to get pregnant for a few months) which is a novel experience after the past year and noticed that you don't half get some funny looks when you buy condoms and are accompanied by a small child. Maybe people associate them with promiscuity or something...

And I have decided to go see a private GP this week. The hospital has discharged me but they fix the ectopic and then leave you to your own devices. I am not sure whether it is possible that I have had some sort of pelvic infection since my daughter was born that might need treatment, or whether it would actually be a good idea to get my tubes checked. I am worried that if I go to see my usual GP they might follow the usual NHS (budget led) guidelines and say there's no point in doing anything when really some other action might be best. We shall see.

Have a good evening everyone. I am knackered from coping with a very irate small person on my own all weekend, so am off to have a loooong bath and then bed.

Madoldbird · 05/05/2008 10:32

Cor, it's quiet in here.

Welcome back, beaniesteve to the 2ww. Fingers crossed fro you.

SH LOL at your condom buying & dodgy looks!! I think i would find it strange now! Sounds like it would be sensible to get tubes checked - hopefully you have an approachable GP who will listen? (Sorry, can't remember if you had one of the "awful GPs we have encountered here)

PnM Sorry you have to work on such a lovely weekend. Poor you with sore boobs for 5 weeks. May be worth getting checked out as it can be due to a slight hormonal imbalance which can be sorted out.

Well, things are not looking good here: look Seems i am about to come on. Too late for an implantation dip. DH & i said this morning we will give it one more cycle and then go for tests. Feel because it's 9 months now - if we'd conceived straightaway we'd be about to have a baby.

hattyyellow · 05/05/2008 11:17

Bucky any news? So sorry to hear you feeling so rotten - wish I could do something and magically whisk up a BFP for you...keep us posted and please don't leave us..could you see another GP at the practice who might be slightly less insane?

PnM that was so sweet of you to look up the guidelines

Scary glad to hear they have finally discharged you -that must feel like a positive step.

MOB sorry to hear you're not feeling hopeful for this month...hope that the doctors can be helpful. Mine rolled out the story that the last two couples he'd referred to the fertility unit had both got pregnant before the appointment rolled around and was delighted to have another couple to add to his anecdote! Fingers crossed you get the same thing!

Waving to everyone else - we've been away for the weekend and had a lovely time but not much sleep as our DD's were too overexcited to be at the seaside to do anything dull like sleeping!

Bucky2008 · 05/05/2008 20:43

MOB . Hope TEW stays away. She turned up here... no surprise there though.

Scary Hope taking control of things brings a bit of relief. You have had a tough few months.

Hi to PNM, Hatty and BeanieSteve. Where is everyone else?

Well the bad news is that AF turned up here. I must be around CD4 now...I have given up temping. It made me FAR too . I really let things get to me this month, and I had everything under control until then. The good news is, I got a letter from the 'wait three years' Doctor. He said my progesterone was 86 (its supposed to be above 30) so I quite obviously am ovulating. He has reconsidered and has referred me to the fertility clinic. . He said in his letter that he would not usually do this, but after giving it some thought decided it was the right thing to do. Somebody must be looking down on me.

I said thank you before to you all, but I really mean it. I don't know what I would do if I wasn't posting here. DP would have had me sectioned by now! So, I have bought my Pre-seed and will have my appointment once I have navigated the computerised automated hospital system.

I am sorry I was such a drama queen. I was just so fed up. I just want a baby for my DP and I and it just all got the better of me. DG met me for lunch and sorted me out too, which really helped. She is soo lovely. I feel so priveledged to have met you all, either virtually or in RL depending....

Hope you had a lovely sunny weekend like we did. We have finished our deck and I bought lots lovely plants today

ScaryHairy · 05/05/2008 21:30

Hi

Just a quicky from me to say hello to you all and especially to Bucky - I am glad you have come back. You spoke to the nurse after seeing the GP, didn't you? Well, it sounds to me like she has gone and had a word with the idiot GP about the NICE guidelines and how to do his job. Either way, I am glad he has done the right thing at last; it's just a shame he had to put you through that first.

Sorry your egg has gone AWOL Ei.

Hi MOB, I have never met my NHS gp (we only moved here in August of last year), but work pays for a private one who I love because they behave like they have heaps of time for you and they even give you their mobile numbers and are terribly accessible (for a price, of course). So I will go there because I know they will actually think about what is best. I did take my daughter to the NHS gp last year and they refused to give her antibiotics for an ear infection because she did not meet all of the guidelines. I ended up taking her back 3 weeks later as she was still in pain. Box ticking at the expense of decent care really annoys me.

Madoldbird · 06/05/2008 09:31

Morning everyone

Hattyyellow nice to see how. Hope you have caught up on your sleep now! How many weeks are you now?

Bucky So sorry about stupid AF, but thank goodness stupid GP has come to his senses and will now refer you. It is good news that you are ov'ing, maybe the pre-seed will help (am i right in thinking you have mentioned previously that you get little EWCM?) and lets hope things happen before you even get to the appt. Do NOT apologise for anyhting - there is no need to - it is what we are all here for. You will get your longed for baby - until you do, please feel you can be honest here and say whatever you think / feel.

EI am sorry that you think that you won't ov this cycle - fingers crossed for a late one.

scaryhairy access to a private GP sounds wonderful - hopefully you will get checked out pretty quick if you explain your concerns.

I don't know what's going on here, my temp has gone up a bit today. Feel very AF-y though, and have had cramps for the past 24hrs, so i expect her to show her ugly little face today. We had a lovely day out yesterday, but all i seemed to see was babies, toddlers and pushchairs. I know i am lucky to have the two i have, but i so think DH deserves to experience being a parent. He is a great step-parent, but i would love him to experience it totally for himself, IYSWIM. Is that too much to ask? Maybe it is. Maybe it's not meant to be

Sorry for such a self absorbed moment. It's a bright and sunny day and i should go and cheer myself up (by going into the office for a long meeting )

GryffinGirl · 06/05/2008 10:35

hello everyone - I will try to post later but broadband is down at home and I have to go to hospital again today (third time in a week) for another ultrasound.

Bucky - i will email you later. Huge hugs to you ((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))).

MOB -

will check in later and see how you ladies are. Big hello to everyone else.

had a lovely weekend in South of France, but I am now even fatter after far too much lovely food!

PicknMix · 06/05/2008 10:54

Just a quick post from me as well as am off to visit SIL (with her 3 children - 3yrs, 1.5yrs and 2.5months!!!) for a couple of days.... (wish me luck - will be a difficult one for me!).

Bucky sorry to hear about nasty evil af, but am absoultely that your Doc has had second thoughts and referred you. Told you thats what he should have done in the first place!!!! Brilliant news!

GG am v of your trip to South of France and lovely food - glad to hear it was a fab weekend (did you have to don the supersize sunnies and floppy hat?!)

MOB Hope AF stays away for you - I swear before I started all this TTC business I never used to see pregnant woman/babies/buggies etc but now they're everywhere so I can sympathise!!

Ei, how you doing today? Hope the egg makes a late appearance

Deffo make a trip to the private dr SH - it sounds like they may be able to put your mind at rest, or at the very least, give you some proper information (am at the gp's treatment of your little girl)

Right, apologies to everyone else (Hatty, Mibbes, Tink, Beanie and everyone I haven't mentioned) but really must go - DH making hurry up noises at me!!!

Madoldbird · 06/05/2008 16:15

GG good to see you, glad you had a good weekend. Hope latest hospital trip goes ok.

PnM Hope you manage to enjoy your time away. Will be thinking of you as i'm sure it won't be easy for you.

Well, the inevitable has happened, and i think AF is here . Been really crampy, and had a bit of browny gunge just now. Don't think i can do this much more, but i don't think i can stop either.

abbymeg · 06/05/2008 20:47

Bucky I was sorry to read about your BFN, but really pleased that your doctor has seen sense (wonder if he secretly cruises MN and recognised his actions and felt thoroughly ashamed of himself!). I'm continuing to live in hope for you .

Big waves to picknmix, GG, mibbes, madoldbird, DG, scary, Ei, hatty, jolly and everyone else!

I'm showering all ttc-ers with heaps of babydust.

Feel lucky that it is lovely babydust and not sick as I have nausea nearly all day long now. that is the colour of my face every morning when I have to get up and sort out DD's packed lunch. I have a scan on friday, so hopefully there will be a heartbeat and things will start to be a bit more positive.

hattyyellow · 07/05/2008 09:20

Bucky so so pleased your doctor has seen sense!

MOB are you definitely out or could it be implantation?

GG how are the scans going? Are you so tres cool now that you are arriving a la audrey hepburn with huge shades and a headscarf in a french convertible with tinkly french film music playing? Please don't shatter my illusions and tell me you got the bus!

All good here, am 7.5 weeks feeling permanently queasy but still delighted about that! May not be so delighted on Friday when I have a 30 min drive, 3 hour train jounrey to London, 8 stop tube journey and then a taxi ride to get to an interview before reversing the whole process to get home!

But it's a fantastic contract if I got it .

Waving to everyone

GryffinGirl · 07/05/2008 10:20

hello everyone!

I can thoroughly recommend a weekend in the South of France . I am lovely and relaxed now! i thought it would be intimidatingly glitzy, but after a smash and grab raid on the shops in my lunchhour for some new summer clothes, we had a gorgeous time. I couldn't believe it, but some of the taxis (the sort you hail in the street with a little light on top) were Bentley's . DH wouldn't let me get one . Weather was pefect and we went out to a little island in the bay and lay on the beach. I did have a HUGE pair of shades. Treated myself to some enormous Chanel ones in the airport . Unfortunately, i had to wear long sleeves for the whole trip, because my arms were such a mess from the blood tests (big technicolour bruises all the way up), but that was a small thing really. DH said I looked like a battered wife . We also went to the most lovely restaurant in the hills that was a converted watermill and drank kir under the trees. Bliss

Ultrasound went ok yesterday. I could see the ripe folicle on the ovary and the doctor estimated I'll ovulate Thursday morning, so I made DH perform last night . I have yet another appointment next week for the final ultrasound (one each for the beginning, middle and end of your cycle and then an HSG) - it takes up so much time.

I am a little worried and this morning, so please would you hold my hand? DH got a message from the Consultant on his phone yesterday asking him to call asap, but he didn't get it until the evening when it was too late to call back. It was about his blood test. We haven't even met the Consultant yet - other doctors do the initial screening tests etc - so I hope they haven't found something scary . He's calling her soon and will call me back.

Sorry for the me, me, me post.

How is everyone today.

Bucky - see you tonight at KRG! Should be a lovely night

How are all you ladies with BFP little beans feeling today? Abby, hope the scan goes brilliantly and you see little bean waving at you.

MOB - I am so sorry that TEW got you . Will your DH go to the GP and ask for a test? I can promise it is not too scary for the boys

picknmix - good luck with SIL and her brood of little ones. It's true that I see babies everywhere now and also in summer clothes you see so many more preganant wopman and each one gives me a sort of pang about how it is not me. I know how you feel.

sorry for only skimming the thread. Is anyone testing? I am CD13 today, so another evening of jumping on DH ahead

ScaryHairy · 07/05/2008 11:13

Another lovely morning?.

GG I am pleased to hear that the scan went well and your ovaries are performing on cue. Don't worry about your DH. It must be scary, but so many problems can be fixed. The important thing is that you've got the doctors on the case now. Am very of your posh weekend away. We haven't been anywhere nice for a really long time, but are going to Mauritius this weekend. Hurrah! Although with a small child in tow I doubt it will be the kir-sipping glamour-fest that you have just had!

HattyYellow have you tried ginger biscuits for the nausea? Either those or Boots do an ante-natal vit called something twee like "Mumtobe" which contains ginger. I took those and never got sick, which might just be the luck of the draw or might be all that lovely ginger! Good luck with your interview.

Abby I am glad that you are well, if a little green around the gills. Don't worry about the scan? I am positive that everything will be fine and you will see a little heartbeat. I am sure you would have seen the effects of the ibuprofen long ago if it was going to have an impact.

Sorry that your period showed up, MOB. TTC is not the fun it should be, I think. I find that between 10 and 12 flakes is a good cure for period-arriving disappointment?

I hope the visit to the SIL went (or is still going?) ok PicknMix. There are pregnant women everywhere - hundreds of them on my train to work every day. And I hate all of my over-fertile relations parading their easily- conceived multiple offpspring about. My sister actually said to me a year or so ago that "I always get pregnant the first month of trying. Tee hee hee." I think she lost some skin and an arm from the deadly look I gave her.

Are you feeling more cheery now Bucky? Get organising that appointment? you do know that booking hospital tests often goes hand in hand with a surprise BFP, don't you? .

Hello Shreksmissus sorry you are feeling rough too.

Hello to everyone else.

A little bit of me now? the bad news is that I am not allowed to get pregnant until July (although the time will hopefully fly). The good news is that I have just ovulated. Although it feels like the waste of an egg, it also means that my body is back to normal again and has not been too confused by all of the things that have happened in the last couple of months. I am back on the Zita-mins and my wee is bright green once more, plus I am sneakily supplementing with some extra folic acid, just in case I have a slip up before July . So at least everything feels back to normal. The only cloud on the horizon is that all of this means I will be getting my first post-methotrexate period when I am on holiday and I am told it is likely to be horrid. But at least I can lie in the sun groaning, right?

tinkisveryhopeful · 07/05/2008 11:49

No symptoms for me. I think I am 4days past ovulation but my period is due on Monday. Damn short cycles.

If I get my period on Monday then I am going to have my period (Unless I get pregnant in late May) for both my holiday and for Glastonbury.

tinkisveryhopeful · 07/05/2008 11:56

hi beanie

JollyBear · 07/05/2008 12:27

Hello all,

Sorry for not being around for a few days, I've been having the most awful sickness. I feel like an ungrateful witch to be telling all you lovely ladies that . The dr has given me some anti-sickness tablets which stops the vomiting and reduces the nausea a bit but make me stupidly tired. Just a quick post for me today.....

GG Sounds like the clinic are really getting moving with you which is great news . Glad the south of france was fune.

PnM Good luck at the in-laws.

MOB Sorry to hear AF arrived. You may as well go and see your GP and get the ball rolling. It worked for hatty.

bucky Glad your GP had second thoughts!

Good luck to all those on the 2ww especially shreksmissus!!

Sorry to all those I haven't mentioned. My brain is fogged.

tinkisveryhopeful · 07/05/2008 13:06

sorry for sickness

GryffinGirl · 07/05/2008 15:34

jolly - poor you with the nausea and the sickness . Must be awful feeling like that all the time and even though you have little jollycub, it must compromise. AT least they are taking you seriously about how debilitating it is for you. Thinking of you.

scary - how are you today m'dear? I am at your trip to Mauritius, even though I am only hokme myself. It difn't seem long enough. The time until July will fly past and it will be here before you know it. PMSL at the nright green wee. I used to get the bright orange wee when I had Berocca in the morning, a hangover cure in the days before TTC when I drank far too much
tinker - looking very good for you with that chart

Shreksmissus - are you feeling better today. It could be a symptom! Excited for you.

Update....DH spoke to the consultant who said that DH's blood test indicated he had low testosterone . He has to go back at 8.30am on Friday for a repeat blood test, because testosterone is highest first thing in the morning and the last test was done at 4pm. I know nothing much about medicine, but I never would have suspected anything like that (DH = hairy , manly type). I am off to do some Googling to see if low testosterone automatically = low sperm count. Getting my hopes up here, but if it is a hormone problem maybe it could be easily treated .

hello to everyone missed, MOB Bucky and everyone else.

Hatty, I was PMSL at the wardrobe door thread. I am exactly the same as you
