Maybe a nice shiny new thread will get us all enthusiastic again. I am on my rubbish diet so I only have nuts and beans to put out on the table. Oh and gin of course ;o) Anyone got any cakes to tempt me with?

Ding ding....let's...go

Do you think I have gone a bit mad

OP posts:
GryffinGirl · 07/05/2008 15:37

p.s. I think the hospital should offer me frequent "flyer" points. DH and I have been there a total of seven times in a fortnight between us for all the tests and everything else

sorry for the spelling and typos above. Must learn to preview my posts

ScaryHairy · 07/05/2008 15:57

Be careful Googling, GG. Whenever I do that I always find things that make me rigid with fear when really there is a simple, and less serious, explanation.

I bet low testosterone can cause low sperm count, though. And I bet there is an easy treatment.

good advice scary - you are right about Googling. Mustn't leap to conclusions. I haven't found anything that scares me, but there doesn't seem to be an automatic correlation between low testosterone and low sperm count (that'll teach me for getting my hopes up for an easy solution ). Again drinking seems to be a critical factor - liver makes oestrogen (sp?) when stressed which can throw out the balance. I make poor DH out to be an alcoholic and he isn't, but again his high-ish drinking in the past seems to be linked.

ScaryHairy · 07/05/2008 21:33

For GG

Some of the points further down the page do suggest a correlation between low testosterone and low sperm count.

beaniesteve · 07/05/2008 21:37

Lol at Shreksmissus

I wish I had some symptoms!

JollyBear · 08/05/2008 13:52

It is quiet on here! Is everyone enjoying the sunshine?!

Thanks for your sympathies tinker and GG. I feel much improved today . I feel a bit of a cop out sobbing to my GP and taking the anti-sickness drugs but I just couldn't keep water and crackers down.

shreksmissus Cooking makes me feel so it is looking good . Fingers very crossed for you.

I'm intrieged by the 'wardrobe door thread'! Have I missed something?!

GG I hope that there is a link. As you say it sounds as though a hormone problem could be fixed. It must be a bit of a pain attending the clinic so often, but also a relief that things are moving along at last!

MOB I hope AF didn't arrive.

How are things with you bucky? Did your GP have any idea on how long it would be until you get a clinic appointment?

Hello to everyone else!

GryffinGirl · 08/05/2008 17:25

ooooh, it is quiet on here today

jolly - I am so glad you are feeling better today and that you are not suffering so badly wth sickness . If you couldn't even keep water and plain crackers down, that is not normal and no fun at all, so you definitely did the right thing going to the doctor. It must be so debilitating for you.

It is time consuming doing all the hospital stuff, but I am not complaining for a second. i hadn't appreciated that they have to do all the tests for me in one cycle, plus me keeling over when getting blood taken didn't help get things done quickly.

DH is still a bit and at the testosterone results, but I am trying to cheer him up

scary - thanks loads for the link! Wow, that is a good site. So there is some link between low sperm count and low testosterone, but i hoped it would be a direct relationship that would mean easy treatment i.e. DH takes some hormones, et voila, billions of the little b*ggers magically produced . It doesn;t seem to say that exactly, but then I was getting my hopes up really. Bloody googling

shreksmissus - are you feeling better or worse today? When will you test?

Bucky - are you about today?

hello to everyone else

hatty - are you feeling ok today. Hope your meeting in London went well.

hello ladies >
GG great that tests are underway, but your poor DH must be so about low testosterone levels after geriatric swimmers - he is having a rough time of it - give him hugs from me xx
shreksmissus your symptoms sound promising, good luck when you do test !
Bucky where are you hun ?
JollyBear poor you being sick ? I have been feeling really dodgy tonight which is not the norm - usually feel fine apart from when hungry.
Scary it will be July before you know it, in the meantime keep practising !

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 08/05/2008 22:25

hi ladies
hope you are all ok
sorry to those with the dreaded MS!! but yay for it at the same time its such a great sign
GG yay for your ovaries but for DHs testosterone!! it might just mean his bloods were taken too late like the docs say so fingers crossed
MOB are you ok?? sorry you think AF may be on her way i hope that you were wrong and you are so shocked with your BFP that you cant stop shaking to type

Madoldbird · 09/05/2008 07:07

Morning everyone

EI glad you have ov'd!! And 7DPO already what a nice surprise. Practically in the testing zone

mibbes hope you are feeling better today.

shreksmissus good symptoms

GG sorry to hear about DH's testosterone results. Don't google too much (ha ha) and hopefully it is something that, once treated, will result in tip top swimmers! And just think, you say he is a normal, hot blooded male now - wow, once he's given some extra testosterone, he'll be RAMPANT

JB sorry you have been feeling so poorly. I hope the medication is easing things for you. The jolly cub must be male if it's causing so much trouble already!!

Hello to everyone else i haven't had time to mention.

Sorry for not being around for the past couple of days. AF did arrive on Tuesday evening and i have inevitably been feeling pretty low. Trying to pick myself up again now though, and realise that this is a long term project, rather than something that's going to happen immediately. DH wants to give it one more go this month, and then go for tests if nothing happens. There must be something amiss - we've timed things well for a while now. I guess we may need some help, but hopefully we'll get there in the end. I've said that my cut off point for giving birth is 40 - so that gives us just over two years.

Have a good day everyone.

tinkishothothot · 09/05/2008 08:04

hattyyellow · 11/05/2008 13:28

Tink huge congratulations!!!!! I'm so pleased for you . This must be the luckiest thread ever. Will you be joining us on the December thread or are you Jan 09?

Good luck squonk and beanie!

Waving to all - hope your weather is as glorious as ours is here .

Feeling sick permanently but still quite happy about it all as it makes it feel a bit more real! 8 weeks yesterday so just need to get through another 2 weeks to see the midwife and 4 weeks to hopefully getting a scan.

tinkisexcited · 11/05/2008 13:49

cheers ladies

thanks hatty

going by when i ovulated as i had a 55 day cycle so i am 4 weeks - due 17th of jan
or do i go by last period which would make me 7 weeks - due 27th of dec

hattyyellow · 11/05/2008 13:54

I'm not sure Tink - the doctor did my EDD by an average 28 day cycle even though mine are normally longer so I'm sure it should be 4-5 days later - but not as long as your cycles! Your doctor and dating scan should be able to give an idea! Congrats - how are you feeling?

beaniesteve · 11/05/2008 14:39

WEnt chopping earlier and my BF bought 5 pregnancy tests

I have told him not to let me test until at least tomorrow but I would prefer to wait a bit as a couple of months ago my cycle was over 30 days (not the usual 24) and I drove myself mad with negative tests.
