Maybe a nice shiny new thread will get us all enthusiastic again. I am on my rubbish diet so I only have nuts and beans to put out on the table. Oh and gin of course ;o) Anyone got any cakes to tempt me with?

Ding ding....let's...go

Do you think I have gone a bit mad

hello everytone.

QueenEi - hello there. Hope you are well and glad to hear that the the reflexologist did her stuff. I think I am right in that you work in health care - does conventional medicine teach you about the benefits?

Scary - will let you knwo how the HSG goes, if everyone on the 2WW can stand hearing more of my medical mis-haps I was a bit worried about posting everything, but I thought it had some knock about comedy value (in retrospect!) ).

Your DH and mine have similar work patterns by the sounds of it. My DH is away for the next two weeks staying in boring hotels with colleagues too. They all go to the bar for a drink and I think he will find it hard, especially as I am not there to make him feel guilty. He also does a lot of marketing events both as a host and as a guest, so drinking is part of his life IYKWIM. He rarely gets drunk - not his thing - but the constant socialising does really add up and it is with different people every time, so he has to go through the whole "I am not drinking this week and this is why..." speech each time. i suppose it is like a diet, once you stick to it and see the results it becomes easier .

Big hello to mibbes and jolly - I think DH would find admitting to a detox too new age for him. Funnily enough, he is happy to have lemonade with his mates, it's work colleagues and clients where he finds it difficult. Work is quite macho and if you don't drink, you are deemed less interesting and also if you give up, they assume that it is because you have a drink problem . I've told him to tell everyone he is in training for a marathon .

Bucky - are you going to test today, m'dear? I have everything crossed for you this month and am sure it will be lucky for you. Let us know as we are on tenterhooks and willing it to be a BFP.

hello to tink picknmix and everyone else!

sorry for another me me me post!

What is everyone doing for the bank holiday weekend?

mibbes · 01/05/2008 13:32

Ei glad reflexology is unblocking your bits , hopefully you find it relaxing, I'd hit the roof if someone touched my feet !
Bucky miblet is ok as far as I can tell - I don't have many symptoms but apparently that can be normal so just have to wait for scan on 16th May (wish it was next week JB). Your chart looks great - when you testing ? I have absolutely everything crossed for BFP missus xx
GG that must be very difficult for your DH with work - esp if they are going to think he is an alchie ! Training for a marathon/watching his weight could be feasible excuses...
Anyone else approaching testing stage along with Bucky ?

tinkhasovulated · 01/05/2008 17:08

mibbes i dont do feet either hate them being touched and dont like looking @ other peoples yuk!!

Bucky2008 · 01/05/2008 19:35

Well I caved and did a CB HPT (not digital)...BFN . No surprise there really. That's all I ever get. So either FF is wrong about ov, I was wrong about LP or AF is stuck somewhere on her way down. BFN's suck . I am going to bed to sulk.

OP posts:
hattyyellow · 01/05/2008 19:39

Ohhhhh Bucky - I'm really sorry .

Bucky2008 · 01/05/2008 20:39

I think I may give up completely. I'll sleep on it, but I cannot do this for the next two years until anyone will help me. .

I may feel better after a night's sleep, but if I don't come back, thank you all for all your kind words. I have made some lovely friends and have spent way too many hours checking what you are all up to. .

I've just lost all hope now.. If they can't find anything wrong, there is nothing I can do to change things and I can't cry like I just cried again. Botox doctor, gin and expensive holidays here I come.

I am leaving all my babydust that I saved up for you all. Hope you have better luck with it.

I will feel very dumb if I feel better tomorrow and come back, but I can't imagine that will happen right now.

Buckyx

hello ladies!

GG wow! what a kerfuffle! despite the fitting and fainting sounding rather traumatic you also sound really pleased with the whole thing. Mr Gryffin giving up booze for the benefit of modern science is a brilliant result! Am sure this will all work out for you in the end.

bucky so are you testing this weekend? I think you should!

SH and PnM it was lovely to meet you both for the first time last weekend. Sorry I've not been on for a few days...I've been lurking rather late at night, too late to post anything coherent. And congrats to your DH PnM!

MOB sorry you couldn't make it. would be great to see you at the next one!!

hatty I remember you telling me you never got MS with your twins...do you think this one could be a little boy(s)??

I've got my 20 week scan on Tuesday! Despite the weeks seemingly passing slowly...I can't believe I'm halfway there already. I'm sure it's a rollercoaster ride to September from now on. Must stop buying silly things for myself like spring jackets and necklaces, and start stocking up on sensible things like breast pads and nappies.

digitalgirl · 01/05/2008 20:43

aaaargh, stupid DG. Sorry sorry sorry Bucky, I had my previous post written hours ago, but only just posted it now after dinner.

(DG whispers - I still think you could be in with a chance...)

digitalgirl · 01/05/2008 20:45

AND AND you didn't do it with fmu.

I'll leave now...and stop annoying you.

tinkiswaiting · 01/05/2008 21:33

so sorry bucky

QueenyEisGotTheBall · 01/05/2008 22:03

hi ladies
bucky sorry about the BFN but you know its just silly to test this early with anythin other than FMU!! i really hope you come back i (and undoubtedly everyone else) will miss you please dont lose hope it will be your turn (if it isnt already...which i think it is...so there!!) {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}
GG yeah you are right i wourk for the NHS at the mo and they dont even meantion homeopathy in my training which they should but they cant be seen to be endorsing somethin that is not medicinal unless its for palliative care!! that is what im interested in aswell (non medicinal/homeopathic care) i wouldnt mind training as a reflexologist in the future
hi to everyone else
hatty DG JB tink MOB oufton scary abby PnM and anyone i have missed
xx ei xx

mibbes · 01/05/2008 22:12

Bucky hun this just won't do, I can't bear to hear you so down. You know the rules around here 'it is not over until the evil cows shows her ugly mug'. Now, I've had a good look at your chart and it may be the case that you actually ov'd on CD14. However, assuming FF is correct you are beyond your assumed LP length and your temp is still on the up (and actually very high given your pre-ov temps). It is very common to get BFP from testing too early (I got BFN on 11dpo and 13dpo then BFP 15dpo) so please don't give up hope for this cycle yet hun, as far as your chart shows you are in with more than a fighting chance {{{bigs hugs}}} xx

ScaryHairy · 01/05/2008 22:21

Bucky flipping bastard BFNs. You know, even if it has not happened this time, (and I agree with Mibbes that there is still hope) you will not have to wait another 2 years for anyone to help, so put that right out of your head. Just wait another couple of days and test with FMU before you start thinking about all of that though... it will happen for you soon.

Hi to the rest of you... I REALLY have to go to bed as am knackered - although got good news: am discharged from the hospital from today. Hurrah!

PicknMix · 01/05/2008 23:25

Hi everyone...

Bucky - am in agreement with everyone else, I really feel for you at the moment, you sound so down with it all. As others have said, if your temps are still high then wait a few days and test with FMU. And as Scary says, of course you wont have to wait another 2 years for help, your dr is just wrong about that. I'll try and find the NICE guidelines link in mo that say exactly what level of care you should expect. Besides, you can't go anywhere, we'd all miss you far too much....

Scary fab news about being discharged you must feel relieved!

Nice to 'see' you DG, will be thinking of you on Tuesday (can't believe you're 20wks already!) - don't forget to post and let us know how you get on!

My mum works for the NHS Ei and she firmly believes that accupuncture is actually far more effective than conventional practices yet she has to 'explore' every avenue before she is 'allowed' to practice accupuncture - she can only use it as a last resort. Ridiculous!! Pleased to hear to reflexology is beginning to 'unblock' you! Hope it will help you to relax a little bit.

GG your appt sounds awful - although brilliant that you were both given such a thorough MOT! Sounds a difficult situation for your DH but fab that he's listening to the Dr and actually being proactive now.

Glad the Miblet is behaving Mibbes, not long to wait until scan day

How are you doing JB, Hatty and Abby??

Hi to Tink and Mob!!

Big thank yous to you all for your congrats to Mr PnM - he's very chuffed with himself and I'm very proud of him!!

PicknMix · 02/05/2008 00:09

Ok, have scanned through the NICE guidelines (both the 'information for public' and the 'clinical guidelines') and NOWHERE does it say to wait for 2 years. NOWHERE!! It is very subjective and I think your Dr has chosen to read it differently to how most Dr's would.

It does say that after a year priliminary tests should be taken to ascertain ovualation - for women over 35 this can happen sooner - and then if this is inconclusive further tests on tubal issues must be carried out. There is NO stated time frame between these two tests.

I think your Dr got to page 9 (Public Information Guidelines) and read no further ("If you have not been able to get pregnant after 2 years of regular unprotected sexual intercourse either one, or both, of you may have a fertility problem" pg9)

However, on page 18 (Public Information Guidelines) it says "If you have been trying to get pregnant for more than 1 year, your doctor should offer you tests to check the man?s sperm and to check if the woman is ovulating or if her fallopian tubes are blocked".

So you've had the first test and if the results of the second test on the 9th come back just as inconclusive - time to check you tubes surely??

I appreciate it is late and that I am not clinically minded but I really think that your Dr is wrong Bucky. But we all knew that anyway!! Lets hope your new Dr is slightly more switched on.

NICE Fertility Guidelines

PicknMix · 02/05/2008 00:10

My God do I waffle!!

Just trying to help but it appears I've just gone on and on....... Sorry!

Madoldbird · 02/05/2008 09:11

Bucky am so sorry to hear you sounding so down and miserable. I hope you are reading this, and that you are feeling a bit better today. There's not a lot i can say that hasn't already been said by all the lovely ladies here, but please do not give up hope. Also, please, please do not leave us (otherwise i WILL be the only one left and i shall be lonely and miserable) but i understand that you may want to leave for a bit, and that here may not be the best place to be right now (does that make sense??) Anyhow, have your botox / gin / lovely holidays etc, and do whatever you feel like. Do not put your life on hold. But at the same time the medical profession should be looking after you. You have your appt with the other GP next week i think? As PnM has said, you are entitled to various things at this point. There can be all sorts of things that can prevent conception, and often there is just the need for a "little tweaking" to sort things out. You may need to push for this, but we all pay for the NHS - it is not a "free" service, so get what you are entitled to to make your dreams come true. It CAN and WILL happen, but i really do understand that it doesn't feel like it right now. Sorry to go on - i hope i haven't made things worse. X

GG at your hospital drama! (although LOL at the "carry on" type scenes ) Am so pleased things are moving quickly for you now, and good for DH on "training for a marathon" giving up alcohol. And ooh, look at you, with your healthy uterus and pristine ovaries

I've got to dash off and do some work now. I'm not ignoring everyone else, i promise! i will be back this evening, and mention you all properly!!

tinkiswaiting · 02/05/2008 09:18

morning ladies
scary good news about discharge
digi good luck with scan how exciting

JollyBear · 02/05/2008 10:19

Oh bucky I'm so sorry you are feeling so down. BFNs are just the worst thing. I agree with everything that the lovely ladies have said especially about not having to wait for 2 years. That is just bonkers! I think there are many positives that you can take from your first month temping even if it is bad news this month. I do hope you come back because it you'd be very badly missed

SH I'm very pleased to hear you have been discharged!

Hello PnM, I'm fine except for the increasing nausea! It gets much better in the afternoons and then gets worse before bed. How are things with you?

MOB Make sure you tell us how your chart is looking when you return!

DG Great to see you! Time seems to have flown by! Do pop back and share digibean's scan pic

Hello to everyone especially GG, ei, tinker, mibbes, abby and hatty. Sorry for leaving anyone out

Bucky2008 · 02/05/2008 10:28

Obviously, couldn't resist a peak. You all have made me cry at work because your so kind. I just feel pointless staying here when obviously nothing is happening. I would miss you all if I go (hence why I couldn't resist peaking today, I already missed you after...um, 8 hours...), but I don't want to get to the point when I resent everyone elses good news.... I tried to lurk a while back, but that didn't last long either. Maybe I am an addict? 'Hello, my name is Bucky and I am a MN addict'.

PnM That is the kindest thing anyone has done for me this year!!! You are such a sweetie.

DG Thanks and good luck with the scan.

Mibbes, Ei, Scaryhairy and my CB MOB....awww, your great .

Sorry I am such a depressing person at the moment. I will try and cheer up and stop wallowing.

Xposted JB. to you too.

OP posts:
JollyBear · 02/05/2008 14:36

bucky You can wallow as much as you like Have you thought about having a go with accupuncture or reflexology? It seems to have helped lots of previous symptom spotters. It has pnM's mum's seal of approval

beaniesteve · 04/05/2008 17:05

Back on the TWW
Am thinking if I don't get pregnant this time I will go back to the doctors and set the ball rolling for fertility tests.

PicknMix · 04/05/2008 17:15

Helloooooooooooo

Hope you're all enjoying a lovely sunny bank holiday weekend - spare a thought for those of us working the entire weekend (I really need to get a new job!!).

Bucky how are you doing? No probs on the research - you sounded so incredibly down. Hope you're enjoying a lovely weekend with Finn and Molly. As JB says though, wallow away!!

I think I may have finally ov'ed - my temp shot up this morning, but there was no discernible (sp.) dip before so am thinking its prob an anovulatory cycle. Boobs have been sore for nearly 5 weeks now so think maybe I should get that checked out as that can't be normal!!

Hope you're all well

PicknMix · 04/05/2008 17:16

Oooo, Beanie, x-posted - sorry to here about af arriving. Deffo time to get the ball rolling at the Dr's - how long have you been trying?
