hello everyone, sorry for doing a disappearing act after the appointment at the hospital and thanks for everyone asking after me.
It went ok on Monday - so much for it being a quiet introduction and a few forms !! I was strip searched (well, examined top to toe starkers!), breast examination, weight, height, forms galore (including whether I had any covictions for abusing children , swabs, blood tests x 15 and an ultra-sound and three follow up appointments in the next month for HSG's, prescriptions for anti-biotics etc!!!! DH got the works too much to his shich - he didn't imagine for a second he'd get the full testicle felt, blood taken works either!
Unfortunately, they (as always with me) couldn't find a vein that worked for the blood test. After poking around both arms I passed out and was fitting, which happens to me when. It's something I have and I can't control it (not a fear of needles or pain thing). Anyway, the department was a bit chaotic and very busy and they weren't set up for problem patients! The nurse tried to take blood when I was sitting in a chair 'cause they didn't have a bedroom free, so like something out of Carry On Doctor, I passed out and tumbled on to the floor and I woke up to find about 5 nurses panicking and trying to get the needle out my arm .
Anyway, after I gave everyone including DH a thorough fright (they left the door open so DH and the whole waiting room watched!) they refused to do anything else to me.
Soooo, I didn't manage to get any blood taken at all and had to go back this morning!! You should see the state of my arms! I was pretty ill for the rest of the day on Monday, but they were set up for me today and they managed to get the blood this time is less dramatic fashion although I passed out again!
DH was shocked that he has been told to give up alcohol completely for three months, but (as predicted) he will listen to a medical professional, even when he wouldn't hear it from me and has promised to do so. I have told DH he'd better get his swimmers up to scratch because the thought of daily hormone injections for IVF has me quivvering like a jelly in fear, knowing what I'm like.
