So, I'm CD 4 on cycle 5 TTC after MMC in Jan (which took over a year of TTC) 😞

I'll be testing at the beginning June

Anyone with me?!

🍀 🤞 🌈 ✨

Oh, @CTak I'm absolutely certain my temping is 100% user error 😂. Even my techy husband can't seem to get it to work, so I'm giving up on it for next month. I came off the implant two years ago and expected it to take ages, but my period returned four weeks to day and stayed the same until my first pregnancy in January.

I've never ovulated later than CD16, though of course things are off kilter at the moment. Premom currently thinks I'm having 43 day cycles because I've had two miscarriages on the bounce. It used to be very accurate, along with Clue and Flo. None of them are smart enough to understand the gaps though, and they all now give different ovulation dates of CD9, CD16 and CD22. It gives a good example of the limits of the apps, they're great but there's only so much they can understand.

I've attached one of my cycles from before. This is the one I got pregnant on the second time. I always had a visible rise and fall, it's never been up and down like this before. My husband is not keen to DTD at scheduled times this month anyway as we said we would take it easy, so it will be completely down to chance. It's sad but interesting to see what's happening while my body tries to get back to its own normal.

I tried temping for a month too (after advice from acupuncturist) but it seemed so unreliable - especially if I'd been up with my toddler in the early hours.
I also hated the beep that would wake up my husband and it just added ANOTHER thing for me to be tracking 🙄
Plus, it only seems to be useful to confirm ovulation has happened, not to help in the run up.
So I've sacked that off!

I've decided to just tell DH we can DTD as much as possible between Friday and Tuesday, rather than me picking certain days.

Do you think that might be less pressure on him too?

Hi @Bb542, I recognise your name from the December thread. Welcome!

@spamOFtheDAY I'm quite lucky in that my smart watch collects my temperature at the same time every morning as soon as I wale up, but I can't make heads nor tails of it. I've had a big jump up this morning, but ovulation sticks have all been negative, so no clue what's happening now.

It sounds like you have a good plan there. If your husband struggles to finish, there are a few options I've seen around the boards that might help? Some people don't tell their partner about tracking (pre-agreeing to TTC first , of course) and just leave it out of their mind, then initiate every other day or every few days as you say. Some people DTD with fun in mind and if it goes south, stop so partner can recover solo and just jump on right at the end. And some use insemination to take the pressure right off. You can get all sorts of equipment, but I saw one lady say she and her husband used a calpol syringe and a shot glass with success!

My watch isn't fancy enough. That sounds quite useful.
That's frustrating about not knowing where you are with your LH. Do you normally get a good rise?
Do you use the clear blue digitals?
They've been ok for me in the last (but seem to have 2 false, early, peak results filling MMC)

Yea - we might have to consider alternative means of this weekend isn't as successful as I'd like.
I tried not telling him, but it's too obvious when Im not very proactive the rest of the month 😝

I’m literally convinced I’ll be pregnant this month just because we used conceive plus. But because it took so long first time around I know it’s not gonna happen this soon just yet.

Hey hoping I can join in! TTC baby number 3 this will be cycle number 3. Will be testing in and around June 8th 🤞🏻 how is everyone feeling? I fell pregnant on month one with both my kids but that was almost 7 years ago.

KittyFantastica · 21/05/2024 16:56

I have used the Clearblue sticks, I have both the monitor and the tracker and have used both with success @spamOFtheDAY I got pregnant first time both times I used them. I don't have any sticks this month for them as it was my first period post surgery and I wasn't sure about trying or not. We decided to relax so I didn't buy any. I had a load of strips left over though and I've done three a day just to see if I ovulated with no success at all. I always had a really clear rise and fall before, so no idea what going on.

Here's my temp chart currently. Temp rise last night, but every ovulation test has been negative. I can't read a thing at all from it, so I guess it will be time to buy some more test strips next week.

emmatcc1 · 21/05/2024 17:08

@KittyFantastica Have you tried tracking vaginally. Overall your temps are pretty low.

BelBabe · 21/05/2024 19:03

Hello hoping to join this chat! CD1 for me unfortunately after I had pretty much convinced myself we'd got pregnant this month but clearly.

Will be testing around 16th June (first day of next period but let's be honest I'll absolutely be testing sooner than that!)
@spamOFtheDAY I'm a bit like you, don't want to put too pressure on my husband to get the job done, but also feel like we definitely need to be DTD a lot more this month as the past few months we've just really done it on my ovulation day which clearly isn't working!

Speaking of which, when does everyone plan to get it on! I think I've overwhelmed my self with advice of when the best days to try are. Think this month we'll maybe just try every other day in my fertile window

KittyFantastica · 21/05/2024 19:29

Hi @emmatcc1, I bought a thermometer in January but it never worked and I ended up sending it back. It gave the exact same temp every time and wouldn't reset but I got pregnant that time anyway with can digitals and easy@home strips.

I won't be using the watch again, it tracks temps but I don't think they can't be accurate. I'd be almost hypothermic all the time!

MisssMarion · 21/05/2024 19:43

Is anyone using the SMEP method? It seems to be effective but quite a lot of work 🤪 especially if you have a long cycle, by the time the peak comes you might be exhausted... I think I'll give it a go this month though, although I agree it's a lot of pressure on the male partner to perform...

Blue2020 · 21/05/2024 19:45

We have just started ttc#2 but very recent. I stopped the mini pill 10 days ago. So we are going with a relaxed approach this cycle. Last time I came off the pill I conceived the first cycle but it resulted in a mmc, so I don’t know if just coming off the mini pill had anything to do with it or it was just bad luck. So I’m hesitant this cycle, but at the same time it feels like wasting a month if we don’t try.

hopeful4us · 21/05/2024 23:45

Hi everyone 👋 can I join this thread? I’m 29 and just started ttc #1. Had the implant removed 14/05 and no sign of AF yet. I don’t know what my cycle is like having been on the contraception for over 10 years - at the moment we’re DTD every other day and I’ve just started tracking bbt to see if I’ve ovulated. Planning to test mid June if AF still hasn’t arrived.

SMEP seems to be a sensible method. This is what I'd aim for. Let's just see if DH can 😝

CD 12 over here and just waiting for ovulation.
I don't tend to peak until CD17

It's usually a very fast and quick rise and fall so a risk of missing it and I don't see very high or even positive results on the cheap strips, so I confirm with the clear blue digital OPK.

I think I'd be concerned if I hadn't managed to conceive back in November.

I find this wait worse than the TWW as at least I've done everything I can by then and there's some hope 🙄

TTC seems to involve a lot of wishing away the time!

KittyFantastica · 22/05/2024 08:47

We did SMEP and it worked for both my previous pregnancies @MisssMarion. Both ended in miscarriage though, so we decided to do every other day next time to let hubs replenish just in case it's a sperm quality issue.

Hi all, this is my first ttc thread hope it's okay to jump on to make me feel less alone. My partner and I lost our first baby at Christmas at 20 weeks due to a rare genetic condition. We are in our 20's and this was my first pregnancy so it was devastating. Doctors are certain it was a random occurrence and its very unlikely we are carriers. It's been the hardest few months, May especially as this month should have been our daughter's due date. I actually got pregnant again in March but this ended in a chemical pregnancy. Last month I ovulated but my cycle was a bit all over the place. I'm CD 16 & just got my static smiley on the clear blue digital OPK for this cycle and trying to be hopeful our rainbow baby is on the way 🌈❤️ Sending good thoughts to everyone.

I really hope this is your successful month

Hope this is a lucky thread 🍀 🌈

Thank you @spamOFtheDAY ❤️ So sorry to hear about your MMC in January, these past few months must have been really difficult for you too. It's hard to keep hopeful & positive after experiencing loss but I think after all the pain something good needs to come of it for us both. Thinking of you 🤞

MisssMarion · 22/05/2024 16:00

When in your cycle do you all start OPK? I'm on CD6 and so eager but I don't know if I'm gaining anything on starting early.
(And on that note I've just found out I shouldn't use FMU for OPK, I feel stupid... 😂 but to be fair I also use the clearblue fertility monitor which asks for FMU...)

emmatcc1 · 22/05/2024 16:40

@MisssMarion I’ve ovulated earliest at cd11 and I start opks on cd8.

mountainlass · 22/05/2024 17:08

@MisssMarion I started testing CD8 with the clear blue advanced digital ovulation tests. I got 2 days of blank circles (low fertility), followed by 6 days of flashing smileys!!! I was starting to worry I wouldn't get a solid smiley and see my peak but got it today on CD16 yay. I'd say cycle day 8 is best to wait till so you don't feel it's dragging on. I get so impatient waiting for my peak and convince myself it won't happen but I just need to be patient :)

Yeah I find that confusing as CB says FMU but all others not. I find my numbers higher in evening
I hate starting too early and wasting the CB ones - they're so expensive!

If you get quite a few days of flashing smileys, when do you start DTD?

emmatcc1 · 22/05/2024 22:56

@MisssMarion CB also detects estrogen along side of LH and keeps all the information in the device.
