Am I still pregnant? Or chemical?

Last week I had light bleeding which I thought was my period starting. It was only when wiping for a few days. (Weds/ thurs)

On Monday I tested positive on a CB early digital 🥳

By Tuesday I was spotting again! Only light again, lasted less than 24 hours.
In my last pregnancy I had no bleeding so I don't have experience of any of this.

Wednesday I got '1-2 weeks pregnant'
I have done a few cheapies since and they seem light for around 20DPO, pic attached. The dates can't be that wrong because I track ovulation and sex.

Am I still pregnant? Should I test again? Will tests still show positive if Iv had a chemical?
Should I ask my doctor to do bloods? When will my period come if I have miscarried?

Am I still pregnant? Or chemical?

@justpeachy1234 aw shit, I'm sorry to hear that. So frustrating.

Will it be keyhole surgery? With a camera? I had that for the ectopic pregnancy - it wasn't too painful afterwards and recovery was quick. The scars are tiny.

I think I mentioned already, but I got pregnant quickly (2nd cycle) with just one tube, I'm 39.

Best of luck for the surgery, do you know what time of day it'll be?

justpeachy1234 · 21/05/2024 20:03

Yes they said keyhole surgery. Did they find it in a tube and just remove the tube? Or was it close to rupture so they removed it?
We were wondering if they would offer the injection if it was low risk of rupture to avoid losing a tube?

That's really positive. Are you pregnant now? Congrats 🎉

I'm really disappointed! after the last blood results went down, I really thought I'd miscarried. I was feeling so positive and ready to move on. I went to the gym today for the first time in months. I was due to go to the office on Thursday rather than WFH. I'm gutted that it's still going on 😩

@justpeachy1234 Oh my goodness! Your head must be all over the place x

TheShellBeach · 21/05/2024 20:30

Oh Peachy. You poor thing, with this still going on.
I hope the surgery will put an end to it.

Babynamechange111 · 21/05/2024 20:39

With me, they couldn't see the embryo on the scan, but they could see blood around my left tube leaking into my abdomen. They used the camera to confirm that the pregnancy was in the tube, before removing it.

Yeah it's a horrible feeling when you think things are on the mend and then you get bad news like that - I went into my scan thinking it's probably a miscarriage, so the bleeding round the tubes etc was a shock. I didn't have that much pain.

At least by Friday you should definitely know what the outcome is? And you can start the recovery process.

Yes I'm 25 weeks pregnant now, all going OK. It's 18 months since I had the surgery, but we didn't TTC again immediately (for practical reasons relating to work, a house move etc). Hopefully you'll have a little one on the way soon too xx

justpeachy1234 · 21/05/2024 21:10

@Babynamechange111

Congratulations! Is it your first?

So far they can't find anything at all in scans. No sign of anything suspicious.
I would rather keep my tubes if possible, but atm no one even knows if it's ectopic or not. Iv got no pain, but Iv been bleeding for around 10 days now.

I really hope this surgery is the end of it all 🤞🏼

Goodluck tomorrow OP ❤️

Livingonhope · 22/05/2024 22:19

@justpeachy1234 I thought I would jump in on this as I'm 3 weeks the other side. I had to have my left tube removed due to etopic on 27th of April I was devasted about losing a tube, but consultant talked me through why its higher risk of repeat if they keep the tube.

you will get through this if you want anyone to speak to message me any time....I was a mess the first two weeks after when I still had all the hormones but I'm actually starting to feel dare I say semi normal so it will get better xx

Hi, thanks for messaging. I'm glad you're recovering well. Did you have keyhole? How was the recovery? Iv got my cousins wedding on Saturday! Am I likely to make it? 😬

If you don't mind me asking, was it confirmed ectopic before the surgery? Do you know if they check the remaining tube before removing one?

so yes it was keyhole after a confirmed etopic they were able to see it in my tube but it took them until the day of surgery ( after two weeks of waiting) before the found it!

yes they checked my other tube they only remove the tube if your other one is in a good state my surgeon did remove a small cyst on my remaining tube so they are good that way but I like you wanted to keep the tube ans thought they were being lazy by taking the easier option but it's genuinely about the scaring left behind

recovery was fine two hours after surgery I wanted out of hospital and for a mcdonalds lol the next day I took my dogs on a small walk and did actually go back to work a few days later ( I work from home) so listen to your own body ...I think emotionally you might struggle with a wedding on sat I was super emotional so if your like me you might struggle that way rather than physical? bleeding wise I didn't bleed u til four days later and it lasted a week and I ovulated just shy of three weeks later

hope this helps hon xx

justpeachy1234 · 22/05/2024 23:14

@Livingonhope thanks that's really helpful.

Iv been monitored for 3/4 weeks now and they haven't found anything. Iv been bleeding for around 10 days now which I hoped was a miscarriage but my HCG keeps going up!

They won't be able to confirm what's going on until the surgery so I'm anxious about the unknown. I don't even know if it is ectopic at this point.

Il be gutted if I miss the wedding! Although my arms are covered in bruises from the blood test, which won't be a good look in my dress 🤣

@justpeachy1234 Good luck today. I hope you get answers. I had another scan yesterday and they think they have finally ruled out an ectopic as there is an egg sac in my uterus. But they phoned me later in the day to say the consultant looked at the images and they think it’s a failing pregnancy. So I am booked in next Wednesday for another scan and an operation to remove it. I started bleeding bright red blood last night so thought I was going to lose it overnight but it’s come to nothing 🤷‍♀️

justpeachy1234 · 23/05/2024 07:57

@McConkeysPlate

Thanks, I'm at the hospital now. Hopefully my slot isn't too late today 🤞🏼

Sorry you haven't had better news, but I'm glad you have got some answers. It might pass naturally and avoid surgery 🤞🏼 x

Morning everyone,

Surgery was successful but unfortunately I had a cornual ectopic pregnancy (apparently super rare 🙄) and they had to remove my left tube 👎🏼

Previous fertility tests about 8 years ago showed my right tube was blocked... so my baby #2 dreams may be over! The constant says she will check my remaining tube soon so I know where I stand.

After the surgery I was in soo much pain, I had all the drugs. Fentanyl did the job though. I'm feeling loads better today ☺️

I might still need to have methotrexate if my HCG levels don't drop quickly enough. We'll see see how it goes

Glad to hear you are through the surgery OK....is there anything they can do to unblock the right tube? I know for mine he checked mine while I was under so hopefully they can give you an update soon.

have you been discharged yet? I didnt have any pain after admittedly but I didn't have a rupture...sending you positive thoughts x

bracemyselfagain · 24/05/2024 11:06

🙁🙁🙁
I know you'll unlikely want it; but you have my sympathy.
What an absolute nightmare for you.
Your genuinely in my thoughts x

TheShellBeach · 24/05/2024 11:17

Oh Peachy, that's rare, and it can be very dangerous if it ruptures. They sometimes do a full hysterectomy, too - so you were lucky in one sense.

I'm not surprised you were in a lot of pain. I hope it's subsided now.

I also hope you get good news about your remaining tube.

You've been through such an ordeal. I'm so sorry.
Flowers

Babynamechange111 · 24/05/2024 16:47

Ah god I'm really sorry. Sorry you were in pain too. Fingers crossed you see some drops in your HCG now.

Take good care of yourself (hope you have someone taking care of you as well) x

PinkFrogss · 25/05/2024 09:25

I’m so sorry to read your update OP Sad

I hope you’re getting a proper rest with plenty of time off work, to recover both physically and mentally Flowers

justpeachy1234 · 25/05/2024 09:27

Morning!

I got home yesterday afternoon. I feel okay considering, just a bit sore when I bend etc.

They are going to book me for an outpatient procedure to check my right tube so at least I know where I stand. I guess it will be in a few months when it's all had a chance to settle.

I'm really trying to stay positive and count my blessings. I had fertility problems before I had my son and I know how dark the hole can be, so I'm trying to remember how lucky I am to have my son and how awesome my life is.

And I'm actually waiting at the hairdressers to get a blow dry. I'm going to my cousins wedding today which I'm really excited about.
Luckily it's only a 30 min taxi away so I'm looking forward to a day of celebrating to take my mind off it!
