Am I still pregnant? Or chemical?

Last week I had light bleeding which I thought was my period starting. It was only when wiping for a few days. (Weds/ thurs)

On Monday I tested positive on a CB early digital 🥳

By Tuesday I was spotting again! Only light again, lasted less than 24 hours.
In my last pregnancy I had no bleeding so I don't have experience of any of this.

Wednesday I got '1-2 weeks pregnant'
I have done a few cheapies since and they seem light for around 20DPO, pic attached. The dates can't be that wrong because I track ovulation and sex.

Am I still pregnant? Should I test again? Will tests still show positive if Iv had a chemical?
Should I ask my doctor to do bloods? When will my period come if I have miscarried?

@justpeachy1234 nothing seen on scan yesterday. Sundays bloods were 930 todays are 2530. So something is going on. Another scan tomorrow

How many weeks pregnant are you? Those numbers look fairly promising.

Mine go up about 400 every 3 days. I should be over 8 weeks now and I'm only on 1,650! But it still keeps going up!

@justpeachy1234 only about 5. But it’s complicated by the fact I believed I had a coil in. After an operation in January my consultant forgot to tell me she couldn’t find it. So it has led to this potential ectopic pregnancy x

Oh, I see! Not what you were expecting at all!

You were expecting them to see something if your HCG is that high. And if it's doubling, maybe it's viable but too early 🤞🏼

Are they doing bloods every 48 hours?

@justpeachy1234 How are you doing this morning? Is work being sympathetic? I should have started a new job this week but have had to push the start date back. It’s been bloods every 48 hours so far. They will be sick of me at EPU!

Hey, I'm not very happy today.
Iv been bleeding heavily all week so i assumed I was having a miscarriage and hoped my HCG would drop, but my bloods today showed a rise again. Tuesday was 1,600ish, today 1,800ish. They've said I need methotrexate. I'm very reluctant as they still can't find anything to confirm ectopic, but I don't feel I have any other options 😢

Still not great tbh. I went to the hospital again today to (reluctantly) have my methotrexate, but when I got there the consultant wouldn't give it to me. He said it's only if ectopic is confirmed.

I told him Iv been bleeding heavily all week but my HCG is still going up!

I had another scan which again they couldnt find anything! I had another blood test today and he said if my HCG goes up again then I need to have a camera in my tubes and a womb scrape on Monday!

I'm very fed up of all the appointments and lack of conclusion!

@justpeachy1234 Did they do a full abdominal ultrasound? It’s very rare but maybe the pregnancy is in your abdominal cavity.

They have just been doing vaginal internal scans, but they can't see anything of concern.
They can't find any sign of any pregnancy, no swelling, tubes look fine, no abnormal bleeds.
My lining has thinned from 23, then 18, 18, then 17, today was 13 🤷🏻‍♀️ they keep thinking the bleeding is miscarriage, but the HCG keeps going up!

They are very concerned about the continued HCG rise, but without locating it, they are struggling to make any plan

@justpeachy1234 Maybe ask next time what’s the possibility of pregnancy being outside the uterus and tubes, see what they say. It is really concerning it keep rising but no pregnancy seen.

@justpeachy1234 It could be just anywhere in your abdomen. Although rare but it happens. Search up pregnancy in abdominal cavity.

Sorry I didn't realise that sent. I really didnt want the injection as it's chemo medication with side effects etc. My argument was they didn't know it was ectopic so it might sort itself naturally. But they said my HCG was too high and keeps going up so they are worried about me and the risk was too high to do nothing. They said if I left it I could rupture etc.

So they convinced me to have it because I didn't feel like I had any other options.

When I turned up it was a different consultant who refused to give it to me because I wasn't confirmed as ectopic and he said it should only be used for ectopic. He thought I was maybe having a miscarriage (he could see all the blood on the probe when doing the scan) and I showed him a picture of the tissue I was passing!

I should get yesterday's blood results soon. If the HCG has gone up then they want to check my tubes and womb on Tuesday. I don't know if it's in any way related but I have history of a molar pregnancy. The consultant thought maybe some of the tissue is growing in a molar way which is increasing HCG 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was going to mention molar pregnancy. I had one myself and it was ages before the hCG went back to normal.

The tissue could be anywhere in your reproductive system, or even in the abdomen somewhere.

I'm sorry you're still without answers.

So they called with my bloods from yesterday.... and they have gone down 🎉🎉🎉🎉

From 1,800ish to 1,500ish!!

Repeat bloods on Tuesday 🤞🏼 I really hope all this bleeding is a miscarriage 🤞🏼

The medication sounded vile. I was dreading it. I hope this doesn’t drag out any longer for you x

Bad news... my results from my blood test today show my HCG went up again by 500!

I have to go for exploratory surgery on Thursday 😩 depending on what they find, they may remove a tube or do a D&C.

They said I can't just be monitored and wait and see anymore 😢
