Am I still pregnant? Or chemical?

Last week I had light bleeding which I thought was my period starting. It was only when wiping for a few days. (Weds/ thurs)

On Monday I tested positive on a CB early digital 🥳

By Tuesday I was spotting again! Only light again, lasted less than 24 hours.
In my last pregnancy I had no bleeding so I don't have experience of any of this.

Wednesday I got '1-2 weeks pregnant'
I have done a few cheapies since and they seem light for around 20DPO, pic attached. The dates can't be that wrong because I track ovulation and sex.

Am I still pregnant? Should I test again? Will tests still show positive if Iv had a chemical?
Should I ask my doctor to do bloods? When will my period come if I have miscarried?

@emmatcc1 oh god! 10 weeks! That's very long.
I'd rather my period just came today so I know where I stand and I can start again.

With DS#1 I fell pregnant on the 2nd cycle and had no real issues in early pregnancy. We have been TTC nearly 18 months for #2 and this is the first bit of hope we'v had

Il see what they say at the scan this afternoon. I'm expecting there to be nothing to see. Hopefully they rule out anything more sinister.

Can they tell by the lining thickness if you'l bleed soon?

When I had a miscarriage years ago the private scan place referred me to the hospital after pregnancy confirmed non viable. At the hospital they did another scan and confirmed a molar miscarriage.

@justpeachy1234 We were ttc for 17 cycles when I fell pregnant with our first but I miscarried. We’re now on cycle 3 ttc again, or more like cycle 2 since I was told there was some more tissue to pass with my first period so realistically I couldn’t get pregnant on the first try.
Fingers crossed everything will be fine, there’s definitely still hope if you ovulated cd20 and implanted at like 12dpo. Keep us updated with the news.🤞🏻

If there's no pregnancy there, they can tell.

It's so stressful isn't it! I hope you get some good luck soon 🤞🏼 sounds like you deserve it.

After seeing no progression for a week now, I'm struggling to see how it could be viable 🤷🏻‍♀️

My scan is at 15:45 so not long to find out

So the scan wasn't great. They said there was no sign at all of any pregnancy. No sack, no nothing.

As some suggested, it's looking like it could be ectopic. They want me to do a pregnancy test in the morning and will refer me to EPU on Monday.

I'm glad I know there is no viable pregnancy at all, so any hopes are gone.

But I'm not sure what happens now! Or the impact it might have on having my longed for second baby 😔

If this is an ectopic pregnancy you'll need assessment and treatment for it.

It could actually have been a chemical pregnancy which is now complete.

You'll have to go to the EPU on Monday, and if you have pain, go to A and E.

Yeah it's but great news. The bleeding iv had was soo light, only light colour on the paper when wiping so I'm not sure if I've passed anything.

I think it's looking like ectopic which is upsetting. Il just have to take each day as it comes and see what happens.

I'm guessing il be at the EPU Monday so maybe know more then. They said they would do bloods etc.

I'm glad I got some answers today. I know I'm 100% not pregnant. Now I just need to see what happens next.

Ah I've been there :( I'm so so sorry. You'll be back in for bloods on Monday to see how they're falling and theh repeated most likely again on Wednesday. I had 2 children after my ectopic so all is not lost! Make sure you take it steady the next day or so and straight to a&e if you get any sudden pain or shoulder tip pain.

@justpeachy1234 sorry to hear this. It's an awful wait. Hopefully epu will do bloods on Monday. Did they see any thickening of the womb lining? With my ectopic there was no thickening.

It doesn't necessarily mean you'll need medication or surgery. I needed surgery, but my friend's pregnancy of unknown location resolved itself.

For what it's worth I'm pregnant atm with only 1 tube, conceived naturally. So it's not impossible.

What ages were you all? And how long did it take after to conceive again?

I'm 36, 37 at the end of summer! We have already been TTC for around 18 months so maybe having a tube removed just doesn't sound great!

Oh I'm ancient (39 haha). It took 2 cycles. I'm 22wks tomorrow 🙂 Having 1 tube doesn't reduce your fertility as much as you'd expect, as the remaining fallopian tube can collect the egg from the ovary with no tube. I think something like 30% of pregnancies in women with only 1 tube are from an egg produced by the ovary with no tube. So yeah it's not ideal but it's not game over.

Hopefully you won't need surgery though 🤞🏼

Oh wow, I didn't know that. I just thought you only ovulate every other month!

Your story is inspiring me to not cry every 10 mins. It's one hell of a rollercoaster. Earlier this week I was dreaming of baby names, now wondering if my tubes will survive!

I called the EPU this morning at 8am. Couldn't get through for about 30 mins as the line was busy. They told me the next appointment was Thursday afternoon 😢 I was crying down the phone explaining but he just said they have no appointments and if I bleed a lot of have pain to go to A&E! I thought they would have emergency appointments for this type of situation, but apparently not.

I decided I could wait until Thursday for some tests so I'm sitting in A&E now.

Have you got much pain now?

Sorry, yes I couldn't wait.

I feel really bloated, like 6 months pregnant and really high. Iv had cramps/ stitch pains down my side. I also feel really achey and uncomfortable

So I'm in A&E at a different hospital (close to my parents as they are looking after my son)
And it's been a great service. Iv been triaged, seen a doctor, had urine and blood tests.
They have sent me to the EPU in this hospital for a scan.

I'm glad I came here rather than waiting. I physically don't feel good and mentally I'm soo stressed and drained
