Should I prepare for the worse?

Hi ladies. I'm currently 13DPO. AF is due on Wednesday. I got a vv faint positive at 9/10DPO. Iv had 3 consecutive miscarriages so my anxiety is through the roof. Going to call EPAU this morning as I can self refer. These are my latest test (the digi was taken yesterday at 12DPO) just looking for a bit of support, re assurance or for some honesty.

@JNicko so lovely to hear from you. How are you doing? I’m well thank you, the anxiety never left and although I’m 26 weeks it hasn’t got any easier! X

JNicko · 06/09/2024 15:49

@LW678 that's great to hear your doing well. Yes I can imagine it doesn't get easier.

I'm doing good thanks. We had the results back from Leeds for the baby and they confirmed it was TRISOMY 22 chromosome disorder. We also found out that it was a boy. We have both had some bloods done to check our generics but the consultant said it could have just been one of them things unfortunately. But doesn't explain the other previous miscarriages.

But I'm currently 6/7/8 DPO and Iv felt a bit crampy and done a test and I don't know if I can see a shadow. But to be honest I don't get excited about these things anymore, I just think oh well I know what's coming next! X

@JNicko Sorry to hear about baby boy having Trisomy 22, although you have an answer it doesn’t make it any better. Good news that bloods have come back all clear. Keeping everything crossed this is your longed for baby! X

I'm technically only 6DPO but the nurses at EPAU said the LH sticks are not 💯 accurate x

OP have you looked into the immunological causes of miscarriage? Most NHS Trusts don't acknowledge the issue and won't investigate or treat, although some do. But there are some consultants who are doing some amazing work in this area, including Dr Shehata. I know half a dozen women personally who have their rainbows thanks to him. He does work on the NHS, although with more limited treatment options, so most see him privately.

I haven't to be honest. I'll mention it to the consultant. Thanks

Hi @JNicko I've been reading through your thread and I'm completely devastated for you. I was in this exact position almost 4 years ago. I had 4 consecutive miscarriages, the last two were during Covid so the waiting list to have testing done was ridiculous. I had no issues falling pregnant, but I just couldn't seem to get them to stick! I did some research and kept reading things about low dose aspirin. So we tried again and I took low dose aspirin from 1dpo, it was a different pregnancy from the get go. My 3 year old is sat with me now ☺️. I then got pregnant with his younger sister, again I took aspirin.
Il never know if it was in fact aspirin that helped me as I've never been tested. But I know they prescribe aspirin a lot for recurrent miscarriages.

I'm actually currently going through a miscarriage again, this one wasn't planned and I didn't take aspirin so it seems like a huge coincidence.

I'm sorry if this is something you have already tried, just wanted to try help if I can xx
