BFP after first failed IVF? What the actual F

Helloo - husband (38) and I (31) TTC for 2+ years with not a single positive. Laparoscopy diagnosed twisted tubes, stage II Endo and low AMH (8). Both always been healthy, fit, no illnesses etc. So, obviously been feeling very angry with the situation.
Last cycle was our first round of IVF and a fresh transfer (22 eggs, 14 fertilised, 1 grade A embryo put in, with 5 in the freezer)- it failed with no answers. Now, the first cycle after the IVF, I find myself with faint lines at 15DPO, which seems rather late. Ovulated CD19/20 (definitely). I usually have 10/11 day luteal phases and no AF has shown, just spotting. Could these be evap lines?
I’m obviously in total denial because we were told it just probably won’t happen naturally for us. Scared of ectopic as well. Absolutely mind blown. Any words of advice? I don’t know what to think.

@GoldenRetriever1 - my fertility babies are now 27 and 23- I still remember the shock of the positive test. I am So very happy for you- good luck with the next few months xxxxx

Thebitefandango · 02/04/2024 06:32

Can you get an early scan done? Though you're only about 4.5 weeks so maybe it's too soon?

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 02/04/2024 06:37

My first was ivf. Four years of trying everything to conceive and nothing. Diagnosed with make factor infertility. My eldest was born from a FET. Then we decided to try for a sibling when he was 2. I thought we would try naturally for 6 months then book into clinic for a fet. I fell pregnant after the first month of trying naturally he's now 2. It's crazy how these things work

@Thebitefandango I’m going to ring the clinic first thing this morning and ask for a viability scan.. which I think can only be done at 5-6 weeks. That’s going to be a longggg wait. 😳

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I find it crazy how this happens. How can one moment our body not work (and for a long time), then next it suddenly decided to work. I know it’s all a chance game, but wow - your story is very inspiring. Let’s hope our positives can help others too.

@Jesusmaryjosephandtheweedon Thank you! I still can’t believe I’m the one writing the story.. when I’ve been snooping on here for a couple of years. It does show that there is no rhyme or reason to fertility (more often than not).

@notenoughcaffeine @friskybivalves thank you! Just wish my brain would believe it…! I’m already looking at the next potential negatives.. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Congratulations! Hope all goes well and you get a scan ASAP!

friskybivalves · 02/04/2024 06:58

I think every pregnancy is a rollercoaster of emotions - I had the plateaux of calm but def times throughout of giddy excitement and panicky OMGs. And often the giddy and panicking came together!

Don't feel you must keep updating the thread. Take things as they come. V best of luck with your Easter miracle.

Maireas · 02/04/2024 07:00

That's wonderful! Everything crossed for a good outcome. 🙏

GoldenRetriever1 · 02/04/2024 07:04

@friskybivalves It’s wild. The emotions are all over the place. Panic is certainly in there.. “what have we done!!? we haven’t sorted space in the house yet!?” 😂 As well as terror around whether it’s actually going to work out. The photos of my tubes proved that it would be quite a journey for any embryo.. so fingers crossed.
🙏🏼

Congratulations - such a wonderful update this morning seeing those words! hope the clinic can get you in ASAP!

GoldenRetriever1 · 02/04/2024 07:09

@sobermum23 Thank you 🥹 the test strip still looks rather faint for 16DPO, but I’ll take it. Can’t wait to shock the nurses 😂😂😂

Woop Woop!! Congrats!

Twdfn123 · 02/04/2024 07:38

That's fantastic!!!! I hope this one sticks for you xxx

FlowerBarrow · 02/04/2024 07:45

Whatever you do don’t be tempted to have the scan sooner than 6+ weeks, fetal pole is unlikely to be detected and then you’d be in even more limbo. If you can bear it I would wait for 6+3

MrsJellybee · 02/04/2024 08:01

Hello… four failed IVFs here. Gave up. Pregnant naturally two years later. Couldn’t believe it. Early scan at 6+2. Saw heartbeat. She’s now nine-and-a-half snoring upstairs.

Wishing you all the luck in the world

Babyenroute · 02/04/2024 08:15

Congratulations! This is so lovely to see. No story to tell yet but trying naturally after IVF so this is giving me hope that it might be possible

JPGR · 02/04/2024 08:15

So pleased for you. Do keep us updated.
