Thought it was time we had a new home, seeing as we've almost outgrown the old one. So in honour to Scorpio, Sybil, BB and toomuch (hope I didn't forget anyone ) here we are - in the company of pregnant (and cheerful) ladies

OOOOHHHH! Lets hope we can say hello to Millie properly soon! Please let us know what thread if and when you start one... Fingers crossed and lots of positive thoughts!

scorpio1 · 01/04/2008 11:03

MW is ringing me back at 1pm, have felt like this, getting worse since about 7am. feels periody all the time then strong contraction every 15 mins or so. MW said could be pre-labour that may go on for days or start kicking off later.

Will let you all know!

mistlethrush · 01/04/2008 11:07

I never had that with ds - got going quite quickly. Hope that you've not got too long to wait.

scorpio1 · 01/04/2008 11:13

i have had this each time. Just had a big contraction.

mistlethrush · 01/04/2008 11:26

How long did it take the other times? Unlikely to be any longer this time one would have thought...

scorpio1 · 01/04/2008 11:28

a few hours to get going. have just been sick

mistlethrush · 01/04/2008 11:54

I hope that doesn't happen again. Sorry you're feeling a bit rough at the moment. Were you sick with the others?

scorpio1 · 01/04/2008 12:17

Fab news, Scorpio
I've gone all tingly for you...

hobnobs · 01/04/2008 14:26

Good luck Scorpio Hope it's not long now. Will keep checking this afternoon.

Have been watching the nappy info with interest. I don't know many people who do use them so it's good to arm myself with more information. I remember folding terry nappies for my mother for my younger siblings (she was very excited when disposables came in - funny how it's almost come full circle!)

Well, CD1 for me Have ordered the hypnotherapy CD Gilly and Ready mentioned and will get my Days 2-4 blood tests done tomorrow. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long for the HSG and then we can bring the next appointment with the specialist forward from August. Am running out of patience now - just hate the waiting at the end of every cycle (though that will probably change again next week!) Dug out my Zita West book last night - I'd stopped reading it before the "fertility problems" section when I first got it (Optimist!)Might reread the whole thing and refresh my mind!

toomuchtimeonline · 01/04/2008 15:54

Big hugs Hobnobs

mistlethrush · 01/04/2008 16:08

At least things are moving forward Hobnobs - its rotten when you want things to happen but feel that you're just endlessly waiting for appointments.

Come on Scorpio (and Millie) hoping for some more progress news soon.

scorpio1 · 01/04/2008 18:50

MW came out and did internal, am 3cms but not effaced (cervix not thinned), have lost all show and Millie totally engaged. DH has gone out for takeaway and i have had a little sleep. i am still aching a bit but MW says not long, maybe a day or 2.

nomoremagnolia · 01/04/2008 19:04

Scorpio Was really excited when I saw you'd posted! Not long to wait then At least she won't be an April fool's baby. Fingers crossed for a nice straight forward delivery. Am I right in thinking you are having a home birth?

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 01/04/2008 19:06

No, not long hopefully anyway, hard to tell with these pesky babies, lol! Yes i am having a HB.

I was a bit scared, had alot of red blood with show. MW touched my baby's head!!

Come on Millie! Wait until after midnight, but then don't hang around too long! Take it easy Scorpio, best wishes

scorpio1 · 02/04/2008 10:13

i slept through the whole night last night; had a warm bath at 10pm then zonked out. Feel slightly crampy today and blood loss has slowed up, am trying not to mobilise too much as this seems to set it off.

MW seems to think i won't be long anyway

Thanks for all good vibes I also post on AN thread April 2008 so could look there too for updates (although of course wil ltry to post here too!!)

nomoremagnolia · 02/04/2008 10:26

scorpio thinking of you, hope she's here soon. I'm checking in on you from my mobile at work (nowhere near a pc today) I'm so desperate to know how it's going!

hobnobs · 02/04/2008 11:44

Also thinking of you, Scorpio.

Well, feeling a bit more positive today (shouldn't really post on CD1). As you say, Mistlethrush, at least I'm in the system. Was just a bit down that we wouldn't have a baby this year now but I know lots of others have waited longer than me!

My CD arrived this morning - fast service. Gilly You should be on commission! Won't have a chance to listen to it (well, not in peace and quiet) for a couple of days. Also got a Stress and Relaxation CD for DH (might try that as well) though not quite sure what he'll think of it! Someone gave him a Sleep hypnosis CD a couple of years ago which was a lovely thought but the voice really grated so the last thing it helped with was sleeping.

Reading Zita West's book last night, she has a list of things you can do to try and reduce your LH / FSH levels (should get the results of my blood tests for those next week) and one of them is meditating / relaxing (including on the colour blue !) We shall see. She also mentions acupuncture. Has anyone tried this? Never having tried any alternative therapies, am suddenly becoming more amenable to trying different things .

mistlethrush · 02/04/2008 12:11

Hobnobs - I go to accupuncture - at the moment particularly in relation to sleep (have a bit of a 'waking up in the small hours and then have to get up, have some tea, do a sudoko or Kakuro and just about feel ready to go back to bed when its time to get up' problem). I first went to practitioner for chinese herbs after 1st mc to try to counteract the chemo that was still probably sloshing round my system to give myself the best chance of ttc when I was allowed to. When I went to an appointment and said I was pregnant she stopped the herbs and started accupuncture (otherwise I would never have gone for an appointment - too scared ) and it was fantastic - helped with lots of problems during pregnancy (especially breathing) and its really relaxing. Dh knows if I'm late to pick him up I've fallen asleep on the couch with all the needles in... again. I too have missed this year - and was hoping at one time for an October baby (my birthday October) to balance out the year. However, ds in April is rather a nice time, so I'm now aiming for Jan/Feb!!!

mistlethrush · 02/04/2008 14:59

I've just had a message from www.thebabycatalogue.com/ - there is a warehouse sale on for any of you able to get there. I found them very good for a wide variety of things, including sunglasses, ear plugs for swimming, Kushies bibs and other stuff.
