@xxcxdonxx am with sez. Its there own special clinic for that purpose, so find it hard to beleve. Have a look under nhs online what they say and if theres other forum on it. Like yku say, its pointless if thats all there gona do. And tis a place to rant, we can give you the willpower to push forward and get answers lol

Jadeypie · 30/05/2024 13:27

@xxcxdonxx I agree with the others that surely can not be right!! There's loads of tests investigations that could be had! I would speak to the consultant and get another opinion. Don't worry about ranting it's what we are here for.

I realised the other day I could of sounded abit cold by saying about wishing to not be pregnant and not considering others feelings on this thread so I'm really sorry if I offended anyone I've just been so full of emotions with my little one who's finally allowed home today we cried alot of happy tears.

As for me, there is no sign of af and basically, im too scared to text. I'm either due on today or one day late xx

xxcxdonxx · 30/05/2024 18:46

Thanks all, I’m hoping that’s the case. The person I spoke to said that the consultant wouldn’t be back until next week and she ‘might’ give me a call so not exactly feeling optimistic!

@Jadeypie so pleased to hear that your wee one is home where he belongs. How is he doing? I knew exactly what you meant so absolutely no offence taken 🥰
Are you going to hold off a few days to test?

SnookyPook · 30/05/2024 19:41

@Jadeypie aw don't worry - I don't think any of us would have taken what you said the wrong way. I'd be feeling the same - just wanting to focus on getting my child home safe and sound with no other distractions or worries to contemplate. I'm so glad that is now the case and he's back home. Must be a relief. As for testing... Oof .. would be typical timing wouldn't it after hoping it hadn't happened this month..! How long do you think you'd leave it to test? Would you be planning progesterone or anything early on if it was a BFP?

@xxcxdonxx aw I hope the consultant does get back to you and gives you a bit more to go on.

Got our next growth scan in the morning. Feeling slightly antsy and hoping little man has grown lots. Been to get some bits and bobs for my hospital bag this afternoon as per midwife recommendation at the last appointment... Hoping it won't be needed for a few more weeks yet though!

Hope everyone else is ok. 💕

Supertrooper101 · 31/05/2024 08:50

@SnookyPook how often are your scans now, you seem to always be there haha shows how quick yours is going, will you be 30wks monday?
@Jadeypie well that would be a story to tell wouldnt it if you got a positive lol plsd yiu can bring your boy home. Did they find the reason behind it?

Jadeypie · 31/05/2024 09:07

@SnookyPook hope scan goes well and little man has piled some weight on ha xx

@Supertrooper101 he's got a.duplex kidney so he had a really bad infection took a whole week to come to that finding by a mri scan ffs because it wasn't showing in his urine xx

I'm out girls spotting for af has started looks like I ovulated later than I thought even tho I got a positive opk xx

SnookyPook · 31/05/2024 15:09

Hi All .. we had our latest growth scan today (ha @Supertrooper101 they've been every two weeks lately).. Baby is fine but some slowing of overall growth rate. Now going to have bi-weekly (!!) scans from next week of blood flow etc and my next growth scan in a fortnight as previously booked in. At the next growth scan, if similar pattern, it may be that they would be looking to get him out around 33/34wks...! However, it is still completely up in the air and there is a chance his growth picks up again in which case we would be aiming for probably delivery around 37/38 wks. In either scenario it's all sounding ridiculously close and a bit overwhelming (yes - I'll be 30wks on Monday).

They also stressed I need to be straight in if any concerns about movements etc and to trust my Mummy instincts if anything feels off... This was a bit triggering in terms of the implications and what they were trying not to say (although actually no different to what they say to any of us I guess, it just felt like there was added weight to it like they might expect it or something).

Meanwhile, I'm to get as much rest as possible without being sedentary (🤷🏼‍♀️🙃😂) I'm ok but just feeling a bit overwhelmed and teary by it all. It's lots to take in... slightly thrown and Hubby has gone into no nonsense business mode to rally me through so feeling I've not been able to quite process how I need yet. He keeps telling me to put it all out of my head etc as thinking about it won't change/help anything... 🙃 Meanwhile I'm contemplating possibly having a tiny baby here within a month and all that entails, no idea what/when things might happen, paranoid in case my Mummy instincts don't pick up on something vital... Eurgh. 😌 BUT the positives... Today he was looking fine. Amniotic fluid normal, BP fine, blood flow in umbilical cord etc good...

After my losses last year I think I'm just finding the added concerns a bit much and just hoping he gets here safely. I've already spoken to my midwife about some extra support with slightly heightened anxiety etc so hoping that will come through soon... Oof!

Supertrooper101 · 31/05/2024 16:20

@SnookyPook wow that is alot to take in BUT you are being monitored closely and ur dh has easy got the best reasurring qualified job to help you thr this lol youve got this 🙂 rest...but prepare as much as poss for the fastest gone quick pregnancy in history haha

Sez281 · 31/05/2024 21:11

Wow @SnookyPook no wonder you were a bit overwhelmed, that is so much to take in! It's so fantastic that they're clearly on top of everything though. As daunting as it sounds I'm sure everything will be fine. I agree with @Supertrooper101 that you should definitely try and rest as much as possible. Do online shopping, Make lists and delegate where possible. You're quite blessed to have a husband with a little insight into the whole thing, my OH is very level headed too which is calming.

In a way you're also lucky that you're armed with all this information and possible scenarios, I actually had a friend go in for a normal appointment years ago, I remember she was barely showing at the time (she was less than 28 weeks I think) anyway the next day we got a call to say she'd had a little girl, I think she weighed 1lb 10oz. That little girl is about to start secondary school and is thriving 🥹

I'm glad you've talked to your midwife about getting extra support. I know everybody telling you it's going to be fine probably isn't helpful and I've no doubt I'd be just as anxious if it was me. Hopefully all of this is just worst care scenario stuff though and you'll have loads more weeks to come xx

Sez281 · 31/05/2024 21:14

@Jadeypie glad the little lad is home and on the mend. Sorry to hear AF arrived but as you said it was the last thing on your mind at the moment! Funnily enough I also have a duplex kidney (was spotted in untrained sound when I was about 12) I think they're quite common, it hasn't really affected me in anyway so I'm sure his infection was just really bad luck 🤞 xx

SnookyPook · 31/05/2024 23:55

@Supertrooper101 thanks haha yes it's seeming a bit crazy now. From slowest 1st trimester in history to ridiculously fast 2nd and 3rd!!

@Sez281 thanks and wow - that's crazy about your friend! And reassuring - little man is supposedly 2lbs4oz at present so good to know others have thrived from less! It is anxiety inducing but I've had a bit more time to process now and realistically things are looking hopeful. Even if he were to come within the next week there would be high chances of him being fine so I need to focus on that and also, like you say, the fact we are being closely monitored hopefully reduces the likelihood of anything going too wrong at this point. I could have done without the added worry but it is what it is!! I need to remember how determined he's been to be here from the get-go, constantly taking me by surprise! No reason he'd stop now ☺️ He's currently moving lots as I type which is reassuring. Around midnight is definitely one of his favourite times for a good bodge round ☺️

Hope everyone else is ok? Who has appointments coming up etc? My next one is Tuesday now! I might have to start paying rent at the antenatal clinic soon. 😂

Westy22 · 01/06/2024 09:44

Morning,

Just catching up,

Totally get why you would be anxious @SnookyPook but as others have said they are really looking after you so fingers crossed everything will be OK, glad baby is helping reassure with movements though ❤️ a friend has been having regular scans for her Baby's growth as they were measuring small, they've waited till 37 weeks and she was induced on Wednesday but had her waters broke on thursday eve as nothing was happening so expecting some news at any moment x

Glad your little boy is on the mend @Jadeypie ❤️

Definitely push for more support and testing @xxcxdonxx I can't believe there saying that's it.

17+5 today, think I'm getting some round ligament aches now, getting some weird twinges either side when I move certain ways...could well be all my fault as I was decorating all last weekend and spend alot on time on my hands and knees painting skirting boards 🤣 My 16 week midwife app is Monday morning (at 18 weeks lol) then scan on the 17th, hopefully the next few weeks go fast 🙏 Anyone else not appreciate people commenting on your bump, some days it's like "ohh you've popped" then the next it's like you don't look very big today...I hate it...it's so triggering and I start to think omg is something not right. X

xxcxdonxx · 02/06/2024 07:31

@SnookyPook , this little one has certainly kept you on your toes!
Totally understand why that would feel overwhelming but you are being well monitored and I’ve no doubt that your mum instincts will keep you right.
I know your little one may come a bit earlier but I cannot believe that you have got to that point already!

SnookyPook · 02/06/2024 09:33

Thanks guys! And I know @xxcxdonxx - madness!! Just realised I probably need to change my mat leave dates for work and with using up AL too it means really not long to go now 😯 I can't believe I'll be back in the throws of newborn life very soon. Suddenly quite daunting - although simultaneously what I've been longing for for ages..! So many mixed thoughts going on! X

Westy22 · 02/06/2024 10:58

Ahh it's exciting @SnookyPook ❤️ but imagine as its come round quicker than you expected it's a bit overwhelming. My friend had a little 5lb6 baby girl whos absolutely perfect💓 it was bizarre when she sent me a pic as for the first time I felt so excited to experience that for myself. Just need to get through this 20 week scan as that still makes me nervous 😱 X

Paws4thought · 02/06/2024 11:58

@SnookyPook they seem to be monitoring you well and I'm sure your instincts will kick in if needed, exciting that he'll soon be here! :)
@Westy22 when is your 20week scan? Thats great that your friends baby made you excited for your own.
@xxcxdonxx I really hope the consultant speaks to you and offers more tests, there must be more they can offer than just bloods!
@Sez281 you must be so happy your 20week scan went well :) have you got anymore booked?
@Jadeypie sorry to see AF has arrived, but glad your little boy is on the mend, must have been scary.
@Supertrooper101 how are you getting on?

Sorry if I've missed anyone, seems to be loads since I last checked 🙈
I had my bloods results back last week, all normal except they've found thyroid perioxidase antibodies, which increase risk of hypothyroidism in future, the letter doesn't sound like theyre concerned, no treatment, just recommends checking blood again when I'm pregnant but google seems to suggest there's a higher chance of miscarriage. They've not actually sent me numbers just said the rest is normal so I'll call gp to ask for the figures tomorrow and speak to them about thyroid.

xxcxdonxx · 02/06/2024 20:05

I’m so impressed at your diy efforts @Westy22 , I need some of that in my life! Do you have much to do before little one arrives?
I know what you mean about people commenting on your bump. I was never triggered by it as I was naive to loss in my pregnancies but I didn’t like how freely people commented on it. Not so much friends or family but when total strangers felt the need to give me their opinion it did rattle me.
Hope all goes well in your appointment tomorrow x

xxcxdonxx · 02/06/2024 20:09

That’s good that your bloods have come back @Paws4thought and that everything seems to be ok. I don’t know anything about thyroid perioxidase antibodies but good to have an idea of what ‘normal’ is and where you sit within that.

Westy22 · 02/06/2024 20:18

@Paws4thought 20 week scan is on the 17th xx see my midwife tomorrow tho x Glad bloods came back okay, definitely ask your GP for more detail and advice though.

@xxcxdonxx ermm we have hall, stairs and landing and nursery which are a must do...then bathroom will come a bit later as that's fine atm. The house is over a 100 years old and hasn't had any work other than new bathroom so it's taking alot of effort and plaster 🤣🙈

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend in the sun, we went to a food festival today and I'm shattered, feeling a bit more achey/heaviness now. X

xxcxdonxx · 02/06/2024 21:15

Awww I’d have loved an old house but it never quite worked out for us. Good for you, I’m envious of people who can get stuck in on their diy. I’m sure you’ll have it looking fab in no time x

SnookyPook · 02/06/2024 22:49

@Westy22 aw lovely news about your friend 🥰

@Paws4thought thank you! Ah that's good there's nothing major flagged up for you. Intriguing about the thyroid and possible connection to MC... Hopefully the GP will be able to clarify for you and let you know if there is anything else you could be doing to help your chances next time.

@xxcxdonxx hope you're doing ok 💗

Westy22 · 03/06/2024 09:55

Had my appointment 😍 she did the doppler and found the heartbeat straight away so that was reassuring, as I woke up in the night with some light cramps and felt like my abdomen was tight...which she's putting down to it stretching and wasn't concerned 🙈

Supertrooper101 · 04/06/2024 08:03

@Westy22 iv had loads of head fk moments with pains aches tightness lol learn to move very slowly in bed or standing or basically no sudden movements lol some reasurring stuff online for once tbh lol
@xxcxdonxx i did the hall stairs landing and ceilings the other year. Hated every minute so dont envy you at all lol
@Paws4thought have you had any look speaking to a dr re the bloods? If its flagged then surely they need to have a plan lol
@Sez281 did amything ever come of your hesrt rate being monitored or did the holiday fix it 🙂

xxcxdonxx · 04/06/2024 13:29

@Westy22 that’s lovely, such a special moment to hear the heartbeat 🥰

@Supertrooper101 when are you due? I feel like your pregnancy has been sneaking along under the radar!

Paws4thought · 04/06/2024 18:19

@Supertrooper101 gp said they haven't had the results yet so I've emailed the fertility people back, hopefully they'll be helpful 🤞
@Westy22 that must have been a relief hearing the heart beat straight away then :)
