Hi All - I've been AWOL for a couple of days and feel like I've missed loads! Apologies in advance if I don't manage individual replies to all!!

@Jadeypie that's all sounding hopeful! Everything crossed for you! Also, 2 stone!! Wow! Well done!

@Westy22 oh 16wks is tough - right in limbo land! Hope your area do the Doppler - I definitely found it reassuring 👍🏼

@Sez281 are you happy to be heading home soon or wishing you could stay on holiday a while longer? Hope you've had a wonderful time! Hope the pillow works for you!

@xxcxdonxx glad you've reached a decision you're both onboard with. It's crazy isn't it how much we tiptoe around our guys sometimes in terms of expectations etc with all we put ourselves through! Definitely think you're warranted to gently bag a little. It is on both of you. Totally relate to feeling mad for putting yourself through it again. I said to my Mum the other day, if this one hadn't just come along when he did I'm not sure when I'd gave felt ready to actively throw myself into it again. It's exhausting. I'm quite glad the decision was taken from me but easy to say from this side of things!

@Paws4thought how are you getting on? Good luck! We've not settled on a name yet .. still mulling!

xxcxdonxx · 23/05/2024 10:06

Thanks @SnookyPook , totally guilty of tiptoeing around him when it comes to TTC. I know from my own experience how easy it is to become obsessed with it all, that I don’t want that to spill into the rest of our lives. All about finding a good balance!

Hope you are enjoying a bit of a rest now your DH is home!

It’s a tricky one to manage isn’t it @Sez281 . You have both done amazingly well on giving up smoking! I think we are in agreement now of what the plan is, he knows he needs to make an improvements or trying again is off the cards. This makes him sound like he has some kind of problem 🙈 He doesn’t at all but I just want us to give it a really good go.

How’s the tww going @Paws4thought and @Jadeypie ?

Paws4thought · 23/05/2024 15:37

@Jadeypie that's fab news keeping everything crossed for you.
@xxcxdonxx I'm glad you've come up with a plan now! My oh has been keen to try to make improvements to help, I think its me that's more reluctant as feel like I'm missing out and getting nothing at the end of it, wrong attitude really 🙈
@Sez281 not long at all until your 20 weeks scan now! Exciting!

I'm 11dpo, I did a cheapy test yesterday which was negative, I don't have any pregnancy or AF symptoms so it'll be a surprise either way haha.

xxcxdonxx · 23/05/2024 16:10

I think that’s totally normal to feel that way @Paws4thought , if someone could guarantee if just did x,y,z and it would result in a healthy pregnancy then of course you would do it. It’s just the not knowing and still wanting to have a normal life that difficult to navigate.
A few days to go then and you’ll know then 🤞🏻

Paws4thought · 23/05/2024 19:17

@xxcxdonxx thank you for the reassurance that it's normal to feel that way, love this little group :)

Westy22 · 26/05/2024 11:13

How are you getting on @Jadeypie @Paws4thought x

@SnookyPook this stage is so weird, I'm 17 weeks tomorrow and because I feel quite normal i get the odd worry of am I even still pregnant, trying to control the urge for a scan though. I'm seeing my midwife next Monday at 18 weeks so I'm going to ask her to try the doppler, my 20 week scan is in 3 weeks...we moved it from the Thursday to Monday as we're hoping to get away for a few days 🌞

I've got one sided jaw pain so think my wisdom tooth has moved slightly....sods law it kicked off the day after I arranged a dentist checkup which isn't until bloody July. Hoping it stops soon as its doing my head in 😫

Hope everyone else is good? @Sez281 @xxcxdonxx @Supertrooper101 xx

Paws4thought · 26/05/2024 12:01

@Westy22 AF arrived yesterday, I'm not too disappointed just a bit worried something wrong like scarring as last month was only light and this month seems to be too, hopefully just taking a little time to go back to normal tho and I'm over thinking it haha.
Can't believe you're 17 weeks, hope the midwife can do the doppler for you :)

Hope everyone else is doing OK 😀

xxcxdonxx · 26/05/2024 21:23

Wowzers @Westy22 , 17 weeks! Is it the 16 week midwife appointment they first use the Doppler? I can’t remember the timelines 🙁 I do remember the midwife saying that it’s sometimes too early to hear anything so not to panic. So maybe your appointment being a bit later will go in your favour.

Ah sorry to hear AFs arrived @Paws4thought . I’m sure it will just take a while for it to get back to normal.

I’m doing alright, had a nice catch up with some friends and all the kids today which was mayhem but lovely. Ive had quite bad cramps the past few days but seems to be ok today and my bleeding has hopefully
now stopped so its nice to feel a bit more normal.

QuirkyJadeSwan · 27/05/2024 01:48

Ovulation confirmed for tomorrow via LH surge. Had sex today. It's our third cycle ttc, but first really getting the timing right, so fingers crossed.

Sez281 · 27/05/2024 09:06

Sorry to hear AF has arrived @Paws4thought I know it's probably disheartening and your brain will automatically think some scarring or something occurred with surgery but I believe that the chances of that are tiny. I think it does usually take a cycle or 2 for our bodies to return to normal so hopefully that's all it is 🤞x

@xxcxdonxx he doesn't sound awful at all, he sounds completely normal but you're right to want to give it your best shot. Hopefully your cycles return to normal soon too so you can 💪 x

@SnookyPook you're officially in 3rd trimester now? Yay! 🙌 I hope DH is home and you've managed to relax a bit? I hated coming home from hols. Already looking at going back over in July if everything is going well here 🙏 Are you in full on nesting mode now?

@Supertrooper101 how are you doing?

@Jadeypie you must be halfway through the tww now? Hope it's flying by for you!

@Westy22 I agree and really think this is the worst time of pregnancy limbo constantly wondering if everything is ok. I joist keep looking at stats for this gestation and convincing myself that the chances of MC etc are so slim (acutely aware that there can be other issues and complications but as far as MCs go I like to think we're more or less out of the woods 🙏)

So I came home Thursday night and then we were minding my nephews for weekend. They’re 2.5 year and 14 months, I honestly don’t know how people do it 🙈 they’re so good and great sleepers but you need eyes in the back of your head during the day. It was so stressful! Came home yesterday and went straight into bed! 😂

I have my consultant appointment and then 20 week scan later this afternoon. Starting to get really nervous but trying to put it to the back of my head for a few hours. Everyone keeps telling me that it's a long scan and not to worry too much if the sonographer goes quiet, that they're just being thorough but I know I'll silently be freaking out 😣

OP posts:
xxcxdonxx · 27/05/2024 18:45

Aw @Sez281 you are super aunt! Having two toddlers whilst being pregnant yourself must have been exhausting!
Hope all went well with your appointments today.

@Westy22 I’m picking your brains on supplements if you don’t mind. I’ve started taking 3x coQ10 daily and a high dose vit d, because I live in Scotland 🙈 What dose folic acid did you take and did you take that along side other ones like Pregnacare? Every time I read or listen to something there is another vitamin I convince myself I need!

Westy22 · 27/05/2024 19:26

So I've attached images of everything I took @xxcxdonxx I didn't take anything else other than these and added Maca in I'd say in the last 2 months before conceiving as my friend kept telling me to take it 🙈 I took one tablet of each daily, the omega 3 I took after reading someone's fertility blog lol xx

Haha I can imagine that was fun @Sez281 I wouldn't survive 5 mins with my sisters kids but she has 5 under 10 years old 😱🙈

Convinced I felt something last night, was in bed and had a very aggressive pop sensation followed by a slightly more gentle one in the same spot it was very bizarre x

Sez281 · 28/05/2024 08:03

Oh my god 5 under 10 @Westy22 fair play to her! 🙈

@xxcxdonxx Along with pregnacare I took (and am still taking 5mg prescribed folic acid) it's recommended if your bmi is on the higher side but Im not sure that that applies to you. That along with CoQ10, the DHEA that was prescribed, and vitamin B complex 50 (to try extend my LP) Not sure what if any of them made the difference, or whether it was the conceive + or progesterone (or aspirin after BFP) I guess I'll never know but would try them all again if it came to

So the scan went great, everything is measuring perfectly and looking well. We were both very emotional during and after it🥹 Even though baby is breech at the moment the consultant was able to get all the measurements we needed so it was actually quicker than I thought. It was the same consultant I had for my Nipt scan and she was so nice. I had prepared myself for loads of silences and long pauses but she talked us through everything. It was lovely.. I guess we might have to start thinking about buying stuff now 😂

OP posts:
Supertrooper101 · 28/05/2024 08:24

@Sez281 my 20wk one went really quick, quite anti climax when i left lol am like that now....when shall i buy lol took my kids to butlins and fantasy island last few days and told my youngest. Abit overwhelmed at first but then thinking up names by the end of the day lol
@Westy22 my m/w said they dont do the doppler till 25wks but i asked at the 16wk one and she did it, so worth an ask 🙂.. popping and stuff defo sounds like movement, should get more definate now.
@xxcxdonxx think theyve covered the supps, i think its a case of getting antixodiants in you. So extra vitamin c , omegas, hydration. Did you give the pro seed a go? Was that you or westy 🤦‍♀️ lol
@Paws4thought its so hard not to have doubts if anything is wrong 🙁. Were your periods heavy before? If your worried and its constant try to see if you can get a scan for peace of mind? Giving your past experience with any kind of help, you would probably have to move drs for that though lol

Westy22 · 28/05/2024 08:55

@Paws4thought I'm sorry AF arrived, I know my MC happened with no intervention but my periods weren't normal for a while afterwards they definitely were lighter and I also had more brown spotting then red some months, so may just take some time for everything to settle x

@Sez281 glad everything went well 😍 I'm so nervous for mine as its in a different medical centre due to us changing the app incase we go away...so I'm somehow convincing myself that something won't be right because it's changed 🙈

@Supertrooper101 yeah I think I might ask as I feel like due to being 18 weeks when I go I might have more of a chance of her finding something 🙈 I used pre seed and definitely recommend @xxcxdonxx

I'm desperate to buy things lol but have only gone as far as a couple of neutral outfits atm but have a list of things I want 🤣

Jadeypie · 28/05/2024 12:03

Hi girls I've been up the wall! My dc got admitted into hospital with a infection that they crnt find!! How I don't no currently still here on day 6 but he's on the mend!! Hopefully can get to the bottom of it soon he's been a little trooper!!

While being here it's made me think how do mums cope with more than one in these situations all the worry I've been through I crnt imagine being able to cope with more kids to worry about!! If that makes sence. My tww is nearly up and all I keep thinking of is please don't be pregnant!! Which feels so strange to think considering I've been hoping for that for over a year xx

SnookyPook · 28/05/2024 12:20

Oh @Jadeypie what a worry for you! So glad that he's now on the mend! Must be frustrating not having clear answers though. Hope you can get him home soon. 💗

@Sez281 yay! How lovely 😍 So glad it went well xx

Hankthehonk · 28/05/2024 20:13

So glad to see that your 20 week scan went well @Sez281 and hope your dc is ok now @Jadeypie !
I just found out someone close to me is going through an MC and it's got me in tears for her. Obviously it also gets me thinking about my loss last year, and how much this group helped me through it. I still can't believe I've got a healthy baby now even though he's almost 4 months old (!)
Sending love to all of you at all the stages of ttc and pregnancy and motherhood x

xxcxdonxx · 28/05/2024 22:03

Oh @Jadeypie that’s awful, how are you all doing? Hopefully he is back to his usual self soon and you can all get home 🥰

xxcxdonxx · 28/05/2024 22:22

Thanks for all of your recommendations ladies!
Maca is a new one on me @Westy22 , I’ll need to have a read up on that. Lovely you have started to feel more definite movements too. I can’t remember how far along it is before you start seeing them move but can’t be far off for you.

So pleased that your scan went well @Sez281 Will they have you in again? Yup, better get shopping!! Thanks for the info, it doesn’t apply in terms of bmi for me but I’ll have a look into it as I’m sure I’ve seen it mentioned before.

Yeah I gave pro seed a go last time too @Supertrooper101 I was taking additional vitC but I’ll need to get on that now too. Great that you got to tell your youngest and they are on board now too.

Sez281 · 29/05/2024 08:18

Ah the poor little mite @Jadeypie 😢 Hope he's doing ok now? No wonder you're up to 90, I'd imagine you're shattered from the stress of it all! Hopefully he's on the mend now xx

@Hankthehonk So sorry to hear about your friends loss, it's so heartbreaking ❤️‍🩹 I can't believe it's been 4 months. No doubt he's the cutest little thing 🥰

@Supertrooper101 how old is your youngest? I'd say some of the names are hilarious. My OHs 5 year old niece is throwing out some clangers 😂 I'm very lucky in that my sister and close friend have offered me loads of things like next to me cribs, etc so I'll start doing a list of what we need to actually buy this week, but probably won't buy anything just yet!

@Westy22 im sure your scan will be fine and you can enjoy hols then. Have you booked anything yet?

@xxcxdonxx you might have to invest in a pill organiser with the days of the week on it. I have one identical to my grannies 🙈😂

OP posts:
Supertrooper101 · 29/05/2024 08:46

@Jadeypie crazy how they can confirm its an infection...but not sure where it is 🤦‍♀️. If other kids are involved youve just got to rely on the dad to step in and take turns between kids i guess. Good that his on the mend tho.
@Westy22 you sound like me with 'changes' jinxing things lol i wore the same outfit for each scan for wks lol
@Sez281 his 10. His just going through names from school 🤣. Av bort absolutley nothing lol and need absolutley everything lol

xxcxdonxx · 29/05/2024 13:27

I’m just on for a bit of a rant, sorry everyone. I’ve just called my recurrent miscarriage consultant to ask what the next steps would be now I’ve had another, what tests would be available etc. The answer is that I have exhausted all tests available to me on the NHS. I’ve had one blooming blood test!!

Granted my own GP did some blood tests for me too but is blood tests the only thing I can be offered?!

It was the secretary I spoke to and I’m hoping when I get to speak to the consultant it will be a different answer but I’m just really deflated right now. The only suggestion was to ask my GP to refer me to Tommys but in reality I don’t know how long that will take and what they will do if I have two kids already. I don’t want to keep going blindly into this and hoping for a different result, the whole thing seems mad to me.

Sorry I’m just very annoyed and disappointed by it all and you lovely lot unfortunately have to see that 😩

SnookyPook · 29/05/2024 16:01

@xxcxdonxx that doesn't sound right! Absolutely get why you would be feeling deflated and frustrated. I was sure they did more than 1 blood test?! They'll need to check hormone levels, endocrine system, thyroid, blood clotting etc won't they?! Hopefully the consultant will get back to you with a bit more to offer.

@Hankthehonk lovely to hear from you. So sorry to hear about your friend. Noone close to me has had or talked about a loss since I had mine but I can imagine it hits differently. I'm on a couple of the other pregnancy after loss type threads on here and whenever someone has another loss my heart just breaks for them. Can't believe little Rory is 4 months now! Hope it's all going well and that you're all settling in well to life as a 4!

Sez281 · 29/05/2024 20:09

@xxcxdonxx that definitely doesn't sound right., I'd say the secretary is after getting confused. It's literally their specialty so I doubt they'd just do one blood test (and I don't think they'd use your GPs and want their own done) hopefully you get to talk to consultant soon and get some answers🤞.. oh and that's are what we're here for so rant away any time! Xx
