@xxcxdonxx glad it went well, dod they say when you'd get results from the testing?
@Westy22 that's hilarious, you're gonna be so shocked if it actually turns out to be a girl 🙈
@Supertrooper101 think they'd have been more surprised if you said you weren't pregnant 🤣
@Sez281 wow 5d, hope you can relax and enjoy the rest of your holiday now.
@Jadeypie that's great, always feels so much better when there's things going on that might help with ttc!
@SnookyPook will you take someone with you to scan or doing this one alone? :) doesn't feel that long ago that you got your positive test either, funny how time can go so slowly but so quickly at the same time.

Supertrooper101 · 15/05/2024 10:11

@xxcxdonxx thats good to hear, you can move on now and just see what the results say and go from there
@Jadeypie you jusy need a fertility one now to add to it lol .. domt know about these special pillows lol keep looking at them but telling myself pillows and the quilt acheive the same thing lol always habe back acje when i get up tho so clearly not lol
@Westy22 lmao....so.was it ur oh who actually didnt want to know the sex or anything and you just went along with it lol do you rekon youl be able to keep that secret now amd after then haha

Sez281 · 15/05/2024 11:18

@xxcxdonxx glad to hear it all went ok and you can hopefully move on from this part now. Have they offered you any counselling or anything? If not I hope you have lots of good support around you xx

@Supertrooper101 a few bubbles but nothing I could definitely call movement. Placenta is in a good position but she's been facing down since about 14 weeks so any kicks are being cushioned

@SnookyPook not so much cute as voldermort looking 🙈😂

@Jadeypie that's great that you've so many tests and appointments coming up. Hopefully you'll have some answers soon 🙏

@Westy22 I had great intentions of not finding out either but as soon as it was offered I was like hell yeah! 😂

SnookyPook · 15/05/2024 12:00

@xxcxdonxx so glad it went ok. 💗

@Sez281 😂😂 Voldemort 😂😂

@Westy22 I never had a special pillow when pregnant with my son and I've not had one this time either! I think I'm pretty lucky in terms of sleep though as I don't seem to get the discomfort lots of women talk about. I'm usually a side sleeper anyway so maybe that helps.

@Paws4thought my Mum is going to come with me 😊 I had a slight freak out about movements this morning but had a big snack and a cup of tea and lay on the sofa for a bit and suddenly he was bodging all over the place so that was a relief!! I'm mostly ok at the moment but occasionally freaking out in case at one of my checks they announce that they want him out asap and I've not got anything ready 😩😂 Highly unlikely I think but hey 🙃

xxcxdonxx · 15/05/2024 20:11

@Paws4thought no they didn’t mention how long it would take and I forgot to ask. I’m sure epau will be in touch soon asking me to take pregnancy tests so I’ll ask them.

@Westy22 that made me laugh, I’d no idea you could even do that. A little boy is lovely. I didn’t find out with either of mine. I was so sure my wee boy was going to be a girl though, people actually thought I already knew and I was completely wrong. Second time round I didn’t even guess as my instinct was obviously rubbish! I’ve never used a pillow either so can’t recommend one I’m afraid.

@Sez281 glad all was well on your scan. Hope you are enjoying your last week away, lap up all that lovey sunshine.

You really are on the countdown @SnookyPook . Hope you managed to get some rest with your time off work.

Hope you are feeling a bit better @Jadeypie and can catch your peak.

Hope the tww is going quickly for you @Paws4thought and you don’t have much longer to wait for your blood results.

Sez281 · 17/05/2024 07:05

Good luck with the scan this morning @SnookyPook 🤞

OP posts:
Paws4thought · 17/05/2024 08:35

@SnookyPook good luck this morning, I'm sure they'll say he's quite happy where he is for a lot longer 🤞
@xxcxdonxx How are you feeling? Hopefully they won't take too long to give results!

SnookyPook · 18/05/2024 10:59

Morning all! Sorry forgot to update yesterday. Still solo-parenting and it's been intense! Haha. Little man is doing well still. Still keeping more-or-less to his centile (possible very slight increase). Amniotic fluid still perfect levels and blood flow etc looking good so that's a relief. Hubby won't be getting home to a newborn on NICU 😂 Next scan in a couple of weeks. Third trimester now imminent! Can't believe it!! Viability stats from 28wks are around 80% I think so feeling lots more positive! Think we're at the point where he's just plumping out and getting his lungs stronger now which is a great feeling. I've actually ordered some furniture and started sorting moving my son to his new room so I can work on the nursery now. Eek!

Hope you're all well? Xx

xxcxdonxx · 18/05/2024 11:24

So delighted to see this @SnookyPook , I was checking in yesterday for your update.
Great news that he is coming along nicely and you are starting to get ready for his arrival xx

@Paws4thought thanks for checking in, I’m doing ok thanks. Feeling a bit bleurgh but that’s to be expected. My mum and dad have the kids for a few days so it’s nice to have some quiet time!
How are you getting on? xx

Paws4thought · 18/05/2024 11:44

@SnookyPook that must be such a relieve knowing viability is a high %, hopefully a good few more weeks to get everything ready, have you got names in mind?
@xxcxdonxx glad you're getting to have a little break, it's so tough to deal with. I'm about 6dpo, so just trying to stay chilled about it haha

Westy22 · 18/05/2024 20:17

Glad everything went well at the scan @SnookyPook 🙏 💙

It's nice to hear you've got a bit of time to yourself @xxcxdonxx to process everything ❤️

Good luck @Paws4thought 🙏🙏

How is everyone?

I'm approaching the 14 week mark on Monday and feeling massive, my stomach bloats up the second I eat. Someone actually approached me in work and asked if i was pregnant because they could tell...imagine if I wasn't 😱 when does the bloat subside? Don't get me wrong I have no core muscle so may well be that there's literally nothing holding anything in and I've always had bloat issues due to my sensitive stomach. Also have an issue with a varicose vein behind my knee 😱 I've had it for years from always working in retail but it's definitely playing up now lol gp has basically told me then in a few months I'm going to need extra time sat down in work 🤣 that's gonna go down like a lead balloon with my boss. For now I've got to wear a compression band over my knee and thigh and elevate as much as possible 🙈 considering I've had a fairly straight forward first trimester I feel like my old body is falling apart 🤣🤣

Sez281 · 19/05/2024 09:26

Aw delighted to hear that it went well @SnookyPook I can't believe you're coming into 3rd trimester, love the stats for viability around this time too. You can finally breathe a little easier! 🙏

@xxcxdonxx Hope you're doing ok, I'd imagine the break couldn't have come at a better time. I hope you managed to enjoy the quiet time a little xx

@Paws4thought you're coming towards the end of the tww? Hope it didn't drag too much!

@Westy22 I'm glad your GP has told you that you may need to rest your knee more, just give your boss a heads up now and they'll have to survive 🤷‍♀️ I hate letting people down and have a really stressful job but when the time comes to take a step back for once in my life I'm going to listen 😂

@Jadeypie and @Supertrooper101 hope all good with you ladies!

I had a bit of a wobble yesterday (I was due one in fairness as it's been a while 😂) I had a strange heavy feeling in my belly (which had also gotten smaller overnight and freaked me out) it was different to round ligament pain so was a bit unsettling. Then my OH had to slam the brakes of the car on, it wasn't even that bad but I got a fright and started crying uncontrollably.. complete and utter hormonal response I'm sure 🙈Logically I know that even if something bad had happened my "bump" wouldn't just get smaller (I know it fluctuates depending on time of day and what you've eaten etc) I talked myself out of another scan as it would be ridiculous. I just can't wait until I start feeling proper movements instead of questionable flutters 🥴

OP posts:
Supertrooper101 · 19/05/2024 09:53

@Paws4thought are you an early tester or do u have control lol
@Westy22 well, i suppose some discomfort had to come at some point lol but you defo need to put urself first soon at work. Have you spoke to the gp about the stomach issues, bloating can be really bloody uncomfy and painful. Love to say it goes away butttttt........ 🤷‍♀️ lol those strange feelings i wiuld say if its different to anything you have felt b4 then its defo him moving. Can happen as early as 14wks 🙂
@Sez281 ive had a couple of occasions like that, just without the tears lol and rammed the trolly handle in me the other week which freaked me out. Least when your back you have triage but if you have the money for another scan while your there, do it lol no ones business to judge 🙂.. is it your 20wk end of the mth? The heavy feeling coud be her rolling in there or a growth spurt.. keep prodding ur belly and see if she reacts lol

xxcxdonxx · 19/05/2024 13:43

It’s ballsy isn’t it when people ask when it’s not a clear baby bump! @Westy22 My bloat was always just kind of replaced with a bump so it never really left, just kind of became more solid.

Id agree with sez and super, you can feel a bit awkward and even a bit guilty but at some point you do just need to follow advice and rest up. How have your work been so far?

Aw @Sez281 you just have got a fright. You are right and your bump can totally change depending on where the baby is lying, what you have eaten etc. She will be fine and nicely cushioned in there but if it makes you feel better then arrange another scan.

I’m after a bit of advice from you all and I know this is a safe space to ask. We’ve been having a talk about having one last attempt, it would really need to be the final go. So while I assume I’d be on the same plan with progesterone etc I’m really trying to do everything to get us in the best health wise possible. My Oh is going to cut down on how much alcohol he drinks and I’ve started making smoothies for breakfast etc. My concern is that what he is doing is not enough. He’s not had a sperm check, I think based on the fact we have kids and are getting pregnant it’s not been on anyone’s agenda but I do worry his unhealthy lifestyle could be causing an issue. I’m finding it hard to talk to him about it without first of all sounding obsessive like he needs to be 100% clean living and also to not come across like I am blaming him, it’s not helpful and we honestly don’t know where the problem lies. Is everything in moderation an ok approach or am I right to push it more? I think in truth I am becoming a bit obsessed and it’s clouding my judgement. He doesn’t smoke or anything so it really is just the alcohol that’s the worry for me.

Westy22 · 19/05/2024 13:56

@xxcxdonxx I think it's right to look at lifestyle etc and although in moderation things are all OK, my OH did limit his sugar intake (we love sweets etc) and drank alcohol rarely after I watched a sperm count documentary which spoke about the negative impact they both have on sperm 🙈 maybe spin it that you both have an overhaul so he doesn't think your getting at him. My OH also took Zinc daily which is ment to be good for male fertility so drop that into convo. If it's something you both want then surely he'll be on board ❤️ are you taking any supplements? I really do recommend coq10 for egg health, I took it daily after my MC aswell as extra folate. Can't you maybe say your GP has recommended? Would they offer a sperm test or not? We had one due to age as I'm 37 and he's 39, swear he hates me for making him do that as we conceived not long after 🤣

My workplace are okay, I've yet to have a risk assessment but my boss asks if I'm OK regularly. Xx

Jadeypie · 19/05/2024 16:45

@xxcxdonxx I do believe health kicks do work wonders for our bodies!! I give my partner vitimins because I take them ha. Maybe let him decide what type of health kick to go on so he feels like he's made the decision? (Any health kick will give positive impact on our bodies) I feel like since being on mine I'm nearly two stone down now has helped me hormone wise xx

@Sez281 just caught my peak today two months in a row for ovulation!! Whooo is this woman hahsha xx

I actually think I'm missing my timing for concieveing lately because our sex lives have been abit hit and miss with sickness bad family news but mu hormones ate definitely sorting themselves out so Al be grateful for that xx

xxcxdonxx · 19/05/2024 17:15

Thanks @Westy22 I watched that documentary too, I think it was saying sperm health had decreased by something like 50% from the 70s? I maybe made those numbers up but remember being shocked by it!
He is taking a male fertility supplement, which does have zinc in it and a lot of other good things so I’m sure that will help too.
Did you get your sperm test through your GP? I’ll phone to ask if they would offer it, it might not make any difference but at least we would have explored it. As much as I wouldn’t want there to be a problem, maybe it coming from a Gp would be better than me.
I’ve been taking a TTC supplement which does have coq10 in it but funnily enough I’ve just bought more of them separately today. I’ve read somewhere that 200mgx3 times a day is ideal. I only bought the 100mg though as I panicked about how expensive it is and then over doing it 🙈

Two stone is amazing @Jadeypie , I’m so impressed and a bit jealous 🤣 I’ve put about 7lbs on over the last few months and I really feel it. I’m very guilty for ‘eating my feelings’ but also know it makes me feel rubbish so I’m back to business tomorrow.
We’ve had a chat about what he is going to do but I’m sure he does feel a bit dictated to. As you say any improvement makes a difference and I need to remember that and find a way of not being on his back but making sure he sticks to it.
Great news on catching your peak, fingers crossed for you!!

Westy22 · 19/05/2024 20:16

I'm sure it was like 70% @xxcxdonxx it was mental! Yes we are at different gps so my doctor said he had to ring his gp and explain they were investigating fertility on both sides and they basically issued a form for him to take a sample to the local hospital, it was quite straight forward and minimal questions asked so i can't see why your OH wouldn't be able to.

Think I took 300mg of coq10 and 1000ug of folate in metafolin form after reading up alot about some people not absorbing folic acid well.

Ah good luck @Jadeypie I also think i went months missing the right time and conceived this time from dtd everyday from cd 6 🤣 I was on a mission 🤣🤣

Supertrooper101 · 19/05/2024 21:36

@xxcxdonxx the fing is, for your fella, he only has to chg his ways for a short while then he can do as he pleases, remind him that you, on the otherhand, cant, so its a small sacrifise he has to make tbh lol same as westy with the different gp. My partner said the same as hers and got a form easily.
@Jadeypie 2 stone is huge well.done u ! And its great ur ur bodys being kind to you now 🙂... now put ur effort in timings haha

xxcxdonxx · 20/05/2024 07:38

That is true @Supertrooper101, it’s a small sacrifice for all the stuff that I need to go through. I think I am actually mad for considering doing this again.
I’ll give the gp a call today and see what they say 🤞🏻

Sez281 · 20/05/2024 07:53

Wow well done on the weight loss @Jadeypie that's amazing! I would t worry about missing perfect times, these things happen. The fact that you seem to be getting a "normal" cycle now is fantastic 👌

@xxcxdonxx I'd definitely just say it to him out straight. It's not exactly the same but I've had to have a conversation with my OH about his health. We've both always struggled with weight but he's been absolutely piling it on the last few months and I'm genuinely concerned. I think he's going to make a big effort when we get home. We both gave up smoking over a year ago and I'm super proud about that so I have to gently just try and get through to him with regards to eating now.

You're right in that I do think they listen more when they hear stuff from the GP or if he was to accidentally read an article or watch that doc on motility 😜 it's hard because we don't want to nag but sometimes you just have to light a fire under them 🤷‍♀️ With regards to going again in general I do think that you're right to give it another shot. There's definitely some little thing that needs tweaking whether it be sticky blood or male factor but you do seem to catch quite quickly so fingers crossed it will happen again soon 🙏 xx

Sez281 · 20/05/2024 07:57

Forgot to add @Supertrooper101 there's been a lot of prodding the last few days and I'm still feeling flutters at night so I'm thinking it's all ok 🙏 I have my 20 week scan this day next week.

I'd have freaked out a bit over the trolley handle too, isn't it mad that we'd never give it a second thought otherwise! 🙈I'm usually a side sleeper but now keep rolling onto my back which worries me so I'm going to order a pillow when I'm home. Did you get one @Westy22?

OP posts:
Westy22 · 20/05/2024 08:26

No I'm holding off atm @Sez281 as I do tend to sleep on my side and they put me off a bit as there so big and bulky. 🙈 I started prodding last week 🤣 I'm 16 weeks now and desperate for proper movement as I'm at the not feeling pregnant stage, I've definitely got more energy and no symptoms other than the obvious bloat/possible bump. Midwife app is 2 weeks away and I'm hoping she will do the doppler but have read not everywhere does 🙈

Jadeypie · 21/05/2024 09:08

Morning ladies I'm officially in my tww and I'm feeling hopeful because I think this month timing wise has been the best from all other months haha. My ovulation pain is a sure indecator too i got it from my right side this month normally its my left thats the side of my ectopic so that makes me feel better its from my right this time. Also if by some miracle I actually concieve this month due date would be the same as my ds!! That would be mad.

Hope everyone els is okay xx

Sez281 · 21/05/2024 11:10

Yay for the right sided pain @Jadeypie 🙌 Will keep everything crossed for you 🤞 How are you getting on @Paws4thought ? X

@Westy22 hopefully your midwife tww flies in too. 16 weeks + is such a horrible limbo stage. I'm 19+4 and still not felt anything properly apart from flutters at night. I'm ordering a dreamgenii pillow for when I get home, it's not too huge and not too expensive so I'll give it a go 🤞

Hope everyone else is doing ok x
