Hi all, my partner and I have been trying for a while with no success (+1 year). About to start fertility tests. I am on cycle day 16 and had a positive ovulation (LH surge) test 2 days ago so think i'm 1 DPO. DTD yesterday and two and three days before test. Hoping this will be the month.

We've also both started taking pre conception vitamins, which includes vit D and folic acid for me. I really struggle with sympton spotting and i'm going to try and relax this month.

Would love to connect with some people in the same spot/keep us all sane during the TWW!

Sending lots of baby dust your way!!

I am the same as you, I constantly look out for symptoms and struggle with the 2ww though saying that it’s only our second month of trying. I am currently 6dpo.

Hannahttcjourney · 03/02/2024 08:58

@3pancakesplz Ah same back to you!! I honestly didn’t think it would be so ‘difficult’ - my friend has just fallen pregnant unplanned and I’m so happy for her but also can’t help thinking what’s wrong with me if it’s not happening when trying!

Have you noticed ant symptoms yet? I don’t have my hopes up for this month

Am either 2 dpo or 3 dpo, positive ovulation test on Wednesday morning. This is 4th cycle where we been actually trying and it is frustrating. First cycle wasn’t testing with ovulation test, so missed it completely. 2nd cycle was ovulation testing dtd on peak day and days before, no luck. Last cycle using ovulation test but missed my peak completely and ovulated earlier than previous cycle, so missed again. Praying this is my cycle. Pretty much used sperm meet egg plan this cycle. Dtd every other day from cd8 until day after peak which was everyday.

Am really hopeful for this cycle, tww is hard. I know how it feels my mate got pregnant end of September time last year. She wasn’t even really trying and got pregnant of doing the dtd twice in the month. So it’s frustrating when it doesn’t happen.

Hannahttcjourney · 03/02/2024 09:25

@shoto2024 its so difficult isn’t it!! When you start researching into it and doing the ovulation tests there’s so much to think about. I think I’m similar to you with the test on Wednesday, so we’re in this together!

I read that once you get the positive test it’s the subsequent day that you ovulate? We DTD the day after but can’t help but feel I missed it this month! We also struggle DTD every day as it puts too much pressure on both of us. So trying to line up every other day without pressure.. sending good luck and baby dust to you!!

OP posts:
shoto2024 · 03/02/2024 09:34

It’s so hard with the pressure, I know my husband said about the pressure to ttc in my previous cycles. That I hid the ovulation test and tried to not let him see that I was testing. I did mention about the sperm meets egg, which was almost did successfully bar missing it on cycle day 10 but made up for it on cd11. I tried to keep the pressure of him by only mentioning it being my fertile week. But I am hopeful this cycle, based of when and how many days we managed during the fertile period. Charts below shows peak and dtd as hearts.

4DPO for me and struggling with the wait this time.

I had an early loss second week of January, and it was our first time ever trying. I actually thought I hadn't ovulated, so it was a shock pregnancy and then a cruel loss. Because I thought I didn't have a chance, I didn't have a TWW and only tested because I felt funny. We weren't sure whether to try again so quickly, but we aren't spring chickens (I'm 35, hubs is 37) and we're desperate to start a family.

I was just happy to see that I ovulated on the 30th, and that everything seems to be back to normal. I don't know how to cope this time knowing we are actually in with a chance. Every day seems to be dragging by so slowly.

3pancakesplz · 03/02/2024 10:16

@Hannahttcjourney it stings doesn’t it! But hopefully your time will come 😊 I’ve already got 1dc and fell pregnant the very first time we tried so I naively expected the same this time round. It was only 3 years ago but my brain is already telling me after just two months of trying it’s not worked yet because I’m older and less fertile (I’m 33) so hardly old but I’m panicking! It’s ridiculous!

I’ve been getting twinges (not cramps) in my lower left abdomen on and off and I’ve been a bit stroppy I guess but other than that not really. Have you?

Hannahttcjourney · 04/02/2024 08:06

@shoto2024 yeah I’ve thought about doing that, less emphasis on the pressure and more on the ‘fun’ ! Your chart looks really promising, fingers crossed for you!

@KittyFantastica so sorry for your loss. The wait is honestly horrible. Constant thoughts, 2 weeks has never seemed so long! Just keep positive thoughts xx

@3pancakesplz ah I’m sure it’ll happen for you soon. Twinges sound promising, I’ve had a stomach ache and couldn’t sleep last night but telling myself it’s far too early and probably just ate something dodgy haha! It’s so good to have people on the same journey though

Hi ladies! Hoping the app is right and I'm 2DPO though could be 4DPO. My OPKs were high for days but I didn't catch the peak. Think I might start testing with cheapies on valentine's day, which would be maybe 10-12DPO. I've never tried the cheapy tests, have always waited for my period, but have a stash that came with my OPKs and thought even if it was a chemical it would give me some information.

My TWW is involving some serious spring cleaning! And Mumsnet 🙃. Trying to eat super healthy too, as this is cycle 10 and I'm getting desperate!

shoto2024 · 05/02/2024 07:21

Am 4dpo with a fairly short luteal phase of 10 days, so I will known am late if I get past next Monday without af. So am intending not to test till after that Tuesday. The wait is so slow.

3pancakesplz · 05/02/2024 08:50

I caved and took a test this morning but I’m pretty sure it’s negative! I’m only 9dpo so maybe I’m a bit early but I think I’m out :( I was convinced I am though

KittyFantastica · 05/02/2024 10:17

@3pancakesplz I tested on what must have been about 9DPO last cycle and got a stark negative. I had weird cramping though. Three positive tests the next day. It's not over until AF is here!

Hannahttcjourney · 05/02/2024 10:42

@CatmumTTC hang in there and fingers crossed for you! have you been taking any supplements? so many things to try but then people who do nothing / are "unhealthy" fall pregnant so makes me wonder if there's any point!

OP posts:
Hannahttcjourney · 05/02/2024 10:45

@3pancakesplz hmm have you had any symptoms? as @KittyFantastica said it's not over till AF.

I get it though, i don't have a good feeling this month. I'm approx 4 DPO and i know people say you can't tell but i'm so in tune with my cycle that i feel like i would notice if something was slightly different, even just a slightly weirder feeling in belly. I feel like i've had a bit of feeling in my stomach but honestly coulld just be hyper sensitive and maybe that's normal as hormone levels change anyway on the lead up to AF. Waiting is honestly the worsttttttt.

OP posts:
shoto2024 · 05/02/2024 12:06

@Hannahttcjourney
The wait is the worst, just so want to know whether this cycle been successful or not. Just trying to stay as busy as possible to keep mind off it and just tell myself I have to be patient. Keep saying to myself I will known in just over a weeks time. Next week half term as well, so looking forward to some time off.

Duckgirl · 05/02/2024 12:20

Hey!! Please please can I join Im going out of my mind!!
11dpo for me. Got some pretty all over the place hormones so struggle in that area as is. Been trying to conceive for a few months with no joy. Last 3 days my nipples have been buzzing on the odd occasion, mainly in the evening.
feel horrid but usually do before AF. Tested this morning and BFN.

good luck to you on your journey, it’s so comforting knowing others are here too! ❤️

3pancakesplz · 05/02/2024 13:20

@KittyFantastica @Hannahttcjourney ahhh this gives me a lot of hope!! Im glad you got your bfp :) congratulations! I’ve defo had what I thought was symptoms, twinges that turned into cramps and my lower back/hips were really sore yesterday though have eased today. Similar to dc1 but who knows

I’ve told myself not to test anymore until AF is due but I just know I’ll be testing every morning this week ha ha

Chairwoman · 05/02/2024 13:43

Hi ladies, hoping to join. My LH peak was yesterday, does that mean I’m ovulating today and 1dpo tomorrow? How early can you test? I had a weird feeling in my pelvis this morning in bed like a tightening and I’m like ‘oooh is this it’ 😂
It’s our first month of trying so I doubt it. I’m already googling conception date due dates though (my periods are v long 10-14 days so I’m not counting from first day of period)… 🙃
Getting ridiculously ahead of myself!

Duckgirl · 05/02/2024 13:46

Technically not pregnant until implantation that normally happens around 8-10dpo. Best test on first day of your missed/expected period.
‘you may have felt ovulation pains though and that’s the start of it all. Good luck and baby dust to you x

KittyFantastica · 05/02/2024 14:05

Thanks @3pancakesplz, sadly my last pregnancy ended in an early loss, but I feel better knowing that it's possible and that I know how I felt last time.

I'm DPO6 today and driving myself mad waiting for the tiniest little sign even though I don't think I implanted until DPO9 last time. The waiting is terrible. I have a pact this time with some of the other girls not to test until at least the 12th!

Chairwoman · 05/02/2024 14:15

@Duckgirl thanks! That’s really helpful.

On a separate note does anyone know if these multivitamins are OK to take while TTC/pregnant? Just normal women’s multivitamins or do I specifically need to buy those for conception/pregnancy. I have about 10 packs of these multivitamins 😂

Sending baby dust to everyone, it’s a minefield!

@Hannahttcjourney I am on so many supplements! I have been taking preconceive supplements since last May so my folate should be pretty good by now! More recently I've been taking inositol to help with insulin resistance and regulate my hormones. Also taking Rhodiola to reduce stress and probiotics. Also daily walks, lots of vegetables and fish, lots of early nights too!

I know what you mean about seemingly unhealthy people just conceiving straight away. What is their secret?! I've not had that success, also have PCOS so I know I need to make changes to increase my chances. Managed to regulate my cycles with these changes though so worth it just for that!

Though I've not had a crumpet in months which makes me very sad - future baby better appreciate all my efforts!

@Chairwoman why not have a look at the contents of the preconception supplements to see if they match what you have? I can see folate there which is good but don't know if it's the right amount. I think generally though diet more important though. Don't get too hung up on supplements, especially when you're just starting out - I only take loads of supplements because I'm on cycle 10.

I don't know why but I ordered some baby knitting wool too keep me busy over the TWW, my friend has a newborn and I estimate this cardigan will take me approximately 10 days so I nice way to see out the TWW!

Hannahttcjourney · 06/02/2024 14:13

@Chairwoman looks like they've got the right stuff in them! I just take folic acid and vitamin D. I was taking "pregnacare preconception" but i have read so many reviews of them messing up cycles/changing ovulation so i stopped!

@Duckgirl welcome!! how are you feeling today? 12 DPO, the wait is nearly over!!

I'm struggling today, 5 DPO and just feel nothing which I know might be the case. Just want some tell tale sign that can make me relax! I always get PMS symptoms like 4 days before AF (including some spotting) so i guess if that happens from 10 DPO at least i'll know and rule myself out

OP posts:
Chairwoman · 06/02/2024 14:22

I’ve googled and NHS says don’t take vitamin A. So I’m just going to keep taking my normal multivitamin and I’ve bought a separate folic acid that I’ve started today. Love a good vitamin 😂I also take high strength vit c as I swear it makes me less susceptible to illnesses. Vit D looks ok in these tablets - I bought about 10 packs pre TTC so I’m not wasting them 😅

1dpo today and convinced I’m pregnant which is absolutely ridiculous! I’m aware. I feel like I’m getting phantom symptoms like a tightening in my stomach and feeling nauseous. Weird how your body tells you what you want to hear, no doubt I’ll get my period this month. But at the very least got the folic acid sorted and know my cycle more.

Duckgirl · 06/02/2024 14:58

@Hannahttcjourney Hey!! Tbh I’m feeling so very very low today. Had some totally new symptoms that I now guess are perimenopause symptoms as I’m pretty convinced AF will show her face Thursday as predicted. Honestly starting to loose all hope now.

the wait is so very very long, I really hope you find some things in your day that bring you joy and make it a little easier on you. The TWW is hell! X
