1dpo - Anyone want to join during the two week wait?

Hi all, currently 1dpo. Hoping for a lucky month. I lost my twin boys a few months ago at 29 weeks due to TTTS. Two days before this I had a beautiful scan and two perfect babies - only 6 weeks away from c-section. And two days after my scan - our world fell apart. I had no movement and all of a sudden, I was told one of my babies had no heartbeat and then four days later, we had to remove life support from his twin brother as he was so ill. My sons were beautiful, visually perfect babies who were so unlucky. I miss them terribly.

So Here I am 1dpo and hoping for the best. Would love the support from any other hopeful ladies and in turn I'll support ye too. Much luck to us all 😀

Hiya!

Sorry for the delay in replying, I've had family come to stay over.

@Ella31 you have plenty of time of your side then and the postive thing is, you know you can get pregnant so it's all really positive for you. Just very unfortunate what you went through with the boys, never mind utterly heartbreaking.

Have you spoken to a consultant or anything about whether it is safe to TTC so soon after your section? I know with a virginal birth they recommend you wait 18 months to fully recover before TTC again! Hope you are doing ok!

How is everyone else doing?

I did and I was very much prepared for the wait for ages speech but I obviously waited 6 weeks, got my checkup and my recovery was excellent. It really was. I'm nearly 4 months now pp. I think my situation is so unique as well where i am from. Trying again is keeping me going. I wouldn't try again though if I thought I was in danger and I had that conversation with my consultant and gp. It does depend on your recovery though.

How is everyone doing. I'm wide awake this morning. Couldn't sleep much. Looks ill be ovulating in a few days judging by opks and egwcm.

Hi @Ella31 I would just be mindful of your scar and take it easy in your next pregnancy and don't do anything too strenuous.

I am on day 12 now and started to get EWCM yesterday so better start BDIng tonight!! 😂😂😂 xx

Beanie14 · 20/02/2024 11:49

We DTD Sunday night, think I’ll be ovulating the next day or so. My OH is away so it was the only chance we had :(
not confident though that it’ll be enough. He’ll be away when I ovulate next month too. It’s so frustrating!

We are literally on the same journey. I'm day 12 and also got ewcm yesterday.

I agree, my scar is good though. I went private due to having twins and had an amazing consultant all throughout my pregnancy. My scar as a result is tiny and so neat. He was excellent. but I put it down to him. I don't think I'd have fared the same if it was someone else that night of the emergency.

Hi TTC at the moment and I’m currently 8DPO and I’ve had some discharge very heavy offwhite cloudy. I also have been having headaches and sore boobs and an increase in appetite!? Can someone please advise if these are early preg symptoms

BabyBorn · 20/02/2024 12:52

Definitely only takes one @Beanie14. I was 37 when I fell pregnant with my last baby and we only DTD once that month!! 😆

BabyBorn · 20/02/2024 12:57

@Ella31 that's madness that we are at exactly the same point! I bet it happens for you before it does me! 😆 I'm doing seed cycling and drinking raspberry leaf tea and religious with my vitamins so let's see what happens. Just hope it doesn't take an age 🥴

It won't. I've come to realise that you can do the same thing the month after month after month and no luck and then one month it just happens. I really think timing and luck play a huge part. I got pregnant the first week I tried during my honeymoon, I didn't take a single vitamin, no folic acid or time anything. Just dtd a lot as we were newlyweds on our honeymoon. I did have a miscarriage but it taught me it's pure luck.

@Ella31 I had my first 19 years ago and I was very young. Hardly ate anything and used to drink and smoke a lot!! I fell pregnant accidentally. I also had a crazy few weekends out and again didn't eat that much and I fell pregnant with our 11 year old. So yes I agree it can be luck but I definitely want to try and be as healthy as possible this time and as we know there is a bigger risk of things going wrong, potential abnormalities and miscarriage the older we get. I am 39 next month. 🥴

You are definitely right about the healthy part, I think for us mentally its vital. As for the age, my colleagues sister just had her baby age 40 a few weeks ago. I think we are definitely having kids older these days but I do get the risks involved so you are dead right to be as healthy as you can be.

I'm taking proceive, vitamin c, using conceive plus gel [similar to preseed] and omega 3.

OP posts:
BabyBorn · 20/02/2024 14:46

@Ella31 that's great. I'm taking Folic Acid, Vitamin E, Ubiquinol, and Vitamin D3. We are also using preseed. Just a waiting game for us all. Exciting but nerve wracking too! x

BabyBorn · 20/02/2024 14:51

Oh and Omega 3 too.

My friend is in a same sex marriage and when they went down the IVF route to get pregnant they were told by the consultant to take Vitamin E supplements as it reduces stress. So thought no harm in trying.

My husband and I have decided to only try for the next 6 months as we don't want a huge age gap again like we do with the older two. My little girl is 19 months at the moment so the plan was to have two close in age so they can grow up closely together with a small age gap. Then definitely no more after that!! 😆😆

It's great that you have a plan in mind. I know from listening to others, they said it can get to a point where it takes over your life. I'd love 3 children but if I could have one at this stage after my boys I'd be happy. I've been pregnant 3 times in 9 months since I got married a year a half ago, it does take its toll.

Unfortunately @Myamoo123 they can also be pms symtoms. With my boys I only had sore breasts and then around 6 weeks began to get nausea but your body can often trick you. What I would say I'd try not to read too much into these and hold off testing until at least 9dpo if you can.

I agree with @Ella31

They could very well be early pregnancy or PMS. Unfortunately there's a lot of the same symptoms for both. Hold out on testing a little while longer. If it's negative, don't be so quick to rule yourself out. Sometimes (and frustratingly!) it can just take a little longer 🙂

Hey ladies, didn't really want to start a thread for it and I can't seem to get a straight answer just by googling so I thought I'd ask here.

Is it normal to just not get EWCM? I have had it before here and there, but honestly can't remember if I had it when trying previously. I'm currently CD8 and still have nothing. It's making me worry a little that odds aren't in my favour and stressing about it isn't going to help either! 😩

Hope you're all well

@2BabyOrNot2Baby I will hazard a guess that you did have it before but didn't think twice about it. Because you weren't as tuned in.

It's also quite early in cycle day 8. For example I ovulate around day 25 and I only get sparce egcm a few days beforehand and then a good bit the day or two up to ovulation.

On the other hand many women don't get it. But I'd avoid googling because people will frighten you with stories. Track it for this cycle and if you get none , you could always get a progesterone test next month to confirm ovulation?

CD1 today🥲 my period just took a bit longer to come

Ncl31 · 22/02/2024 06:09

@Om0 so sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed for your next cycle for you.
im currently CD11 - first cycle with clomid/letorxole so hoping for an earlier ovulation than my usual cd35!

Beanie14 · 22/02/2024 06:58

Cycle day 15 for me. Not tracking ovulation this month cause we were only able to DTD last weekend.
@Om0 sorry about AF. At lest you can focus on a new cycle now.
@2BabyOrNot2Baby perhaps you’ve not noticed. I only get it one day a month. Sometimes it’s subtle and I barely notice.
Lack of EWCM doesn’t mean you’re not ovulating. But if you are worried can you as GP?
xx

Brianna4kd · 22/02/2024 13:40

@2BabyOrNot2Baby I have never had ewcm and I have 4 children and I am currently pregnant right now. So don’t worry it doesn’t mean you won’t ovulate everyone is just different.
