1dpo - Anyone want to join during the two week wait?

Ella31 · 28/01/2024 00:39

Hi all, currently 1dpo. Hoping for a lucky month. I lost my twin boys a few months ago at 29 weeks due to TTTS. Two days before this I had a beautiful scan and two perfect babies - only 6 weeks away from c-section. And two days after my scan - our world fell apart. I had no movement and all of a sudden, I was told one of my babies had no heartbeat and then four days later, we had to remove life support from his twin brother as he was so ill. My sons were beautiful, visually perfect babies who were so unlucky. I miss them terribly.

So Here I am 1dpo and hoping for the best. Would love the support from any other hopeful ladies and in turn I'll support ye too. Much luck to us all 😀

@dreamanotherdream I take the pregnacare folic acid, a multivitamin & hormone balancing vitamin. I also take metformin for my PCOS

AF arrived for me today, three days early so my ovulation this month might have been earlier than I thought, first month TTC but it’s weird how much I’ve tuned into my body to notice symptoms etc over the TWW!

What vitamins does everyone take while trying? I have very low iron and border on anaemic a lot of the time so I’m wondering if that might not be helping!

Procieve vitamins are the ones I take

CadoAvo · 12/02/2024 09:57

Morning all. 12DPO here and just back from a lovely weekend away. Took my first test today and it was a BFN. Not too surprised but it's cruel having dreams it's positive 😂

This is our first month trying. Period is due on Wednesday so "looking forward" to it starting so we can move onto round 2.

We’re cycle buddies! Also due Wednesday (what a fun way to spend Valentines 😂) not sure what I am exactly but I’m guessing 13/14dpo here too and had a bfn this morning on a cheapie. It’s our first cycle TTC too so no idea if I used the ovulation sticks correctly 🙈

CadoAvo · 12/02/2024 18:23

@MrsStormtrooper oh hey cycle buddy 👋🏼 yeah I'm still navigating it all too. My normal period tracker says I'm due on Friday but I think I ovulated earlier this month which is why I'm not surprised the test was negative. But tracked ovulation through the easy@home opks, and that app says I'm due on Wednesday.

I did a "trial run" with the opks the previous month and everything seemed very text book so when I ovulated a couple days earlier this time I was a bit thrown off. We are an lgbt couple using AI so have to plan timings etc quite meticulously 😅

What opks are you using and do you use an app?

Ah I see!! I’ve been using the Fermometer opks so no idea if they’re any good. I’m going to get easy@home next month though as they seem to be the best cheap opks! I’ve been using Premom and Flo but I should have been smart and done a trial run so I knew what to expect 😅

I’ve already got some bits in my Amazon basket ready for if AF shows up! Some vitamins, lube and more opks. What’s the plan for you for next cycle? Will you do another go of AI? I’ve looked into PGD (ivf) for other reasons (not fertility, I’ve got a genetic condition) but no idea if AI works the same!

narwhalsarereal · 12/02/2024 21:37

Well I'm out, AF has arrived like a slap in the face

CadoAvo · 12/02/2024 23:36

@MrsStormtrooper yeah I use the easy@home strips with the premom app as seems to be the most common, budget friendly to use. I've looked at the ClearBlue ovulation stuff but not sure I can get my head round it!

Yes we will keep trying each month. We are using a donor who is known to us (very supportive, contracts signed etc) so we aren't trying via a clinic but will go down that route if we have to. We have approached the NHS, they did some tests on me and no issues were raised. They won't start treatment until BMI is under 30 and I'm at 34. So in the process of also trying to lose 2 stone incase the at home method doesn't work.

So I'm really hoping it does work in the next 6 months or so! What sort of vitamins and lube have you got in your basket? At the moment I'm only taking folic acid (blood test confirmed I'm low on that anyway) and not sure if I should be doing more. There's just so many things out there that it's hard to know what could work and what might be a waste of money!

i can’t wrap my head around the clear blue ones either!

That sounds good to me, the rules surrounding fertility treatments on the NHS are so strict! I understand why to a point but still. We decided against PGD/IVF for now and will have it in our back pocket for the time being, I have endometriosis and adenomyosis so the risk of the ivf not working was high and we only had 3 attempts :(

These are what I have in my basket! I have been taking folic acid as well. Not sure if these are any good but worth a try. It’s super expensive though, I’ll be honest that I didn’t think it would come with all these costs just to get pregnant lol. I’m debating temping next month, but that looks like just another thing for me to obsess over!

1dpo - Anyone want to join during the two week wait?
MrsStormtrooper · 13/02/2024 10:06

I’m waiting to see if AF arrives tomorrow (she’s usually on time!), but if she does appear and I order a BBT thermometer thingy tomorrow on Prime, will it matter if I don’t start temping until Friday morning (aka CD3)? Everything I’ve read online says to do it from the start of your cycle but I wouldn’t want to wait until next cycle to temp.

Om0 · 13/02/2024 13:15

15DPO no sign of AF today so I tested and it was very negative☹️ reckon it’s just my pcos playing up again

Ncl31 · 13/02/2024 22:15

@MrsStormtrooper i started doing my BBT during my my cycle, just have me an idea on what was going on.
@Om0 im sorry you got a BFN, I did too and then AF arrived at 16DPO - which was yesterday. But then my bleeding has stopped again this afternoon/evening. I’m assuming it’s the mc that is causing problems still

MrsStormtrooper · 14/02/2024 07:55

AF started last night, at least I know now and can stop thinking about it until next tww :(

I'm waiting on mine and wish it would hurry up so I can get planning 😅 no doubt will be late this month 🙄

CadoAvo · 14/02/2024 12:36

It's arrived. Round 2 in progress 😅

BabyBorn · 14/02/2024 22:12

Sorry to see so many BFN's! Now we can aim for the next cycle to be "the one"

Anyone doing anything different this cycle? I'm doing Seed Cycling and drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea until just before ovulation. I've also cut out all alcohol and preservatives and drinking lots of fruit tea.

Currently on CD 6 already! Time has flown this month!

BabyBorn · 14/02/2024 22:12

How are you doing @Ella31?

BabyBorn · 14/02/2024 22:15

Oh and I've limited dairy this cycle too to see if it makes a difference to my overall health as well as TTC.

I've had reflexology today and acupuncture in my stomach and feet.

Ella31 · 14/02/2024 23:17

BabyBorn · 14/02/2024 22:12

How are you doing @Ella31?

Hey @BabyBorn doing ok. Period came last Friday after 12 days luteal phase which I'm happy about. Only thing that's wrecking my head is how irregular my period length is since my c section. I'm on cycle 2 since the birth. So my period used be 3/4 days, I'm now on day 6, thought it was gone yesterday and woke up today to more red. So I'm hoping this is normal after birth.

I've been struggling a lot this month without my boys and the want to be pregnant again is so strong. Its almost consuming me. Its hard.

How are you?

I'm dtd every other day and then everyday once im in fertile week. Using easy at home and fermometer ovulation tests and then clearblue when it gets strong. I use conceive plus as a lubricant and I'm taking proceive conception vitamins.

This is what I did prior to my twins.

@Ella31 I bet you are missing them so much, you always will ❤️ such an emotional rollercoaster. I'm definitely not coming back as a woman again! 🥴😂😂

We are exactly the same place with our cycles then. AF came back for me on Friday too with an 11 day LP so praying this will lengthen this month with seed cycling and raspberry leaf tea.

Everything else you are doing sounds brilliant. How old are you? If you don't mind me asking! Your period length sounds spot on and well with normal range too. I had a little spotting on day 6 this time and feel like it's dragging on a little more than normal but it's not been as heavy as usual either x

Beanie14 · 15/02/2024 07:42

@Ella31 after my C-section took months before my period returned and then probably another few months before if became regular 27/28 day cycle again. I think it’s completely normal to be out of whack for a while. We weren’t TTC during this time so I can’t comment on that part.
Hope this helps.

I don't mind at all. I just turned 33. Trying not to freak out about my age. Got engaged at 29, covid delayed our wedding. Got married a year and a half ago and within 9 months of being married pregnant 3 times, but all loss as you know.

So really hoping 2024 will be the year. The lp length sounds good on your side. Mine was always 11 days and I got pregnant with the twins as you know and obviously their loss had nothing to do with that so I think you have a good lp at the moment.

Thats great, we're cycle buddies. It's so much easier when you have a partner in crime 🤣

@Beanie14 I think that's the issue as my husband keeps saying I'm in a weird position compared to other mothers who had a section as I didn't come home with my babies. The majority of mothers aren't ttc again straight after birth so unfortunately aren't hyper aware of their cycle whereas I obviously am.

hi everyone, sorry to all that have received bfn. I tracked my cycle using ovulation tests. I used easy at home (ordered off of amazon) as well as the clear blue advanced. I would test with the cheapies and once they start getting dark I would cross reference with the clear blue. I use the Premom app as well as fertility friend to track my bbt, cervical mucus and position, symptoms, etc.

I would test almost every four hours once those tests started darkening up. If I had stopped when I got a really dark opk and the peak on clear blue advanced I wouldn’t have caught that the surge had gotten even higher or that I had another one the following day I believe.
