Looking for fellow mums to be starting their TTC journey :)

I’m officially starting this cycle (currently CD6). Last night was the first time without any contraception (v early but hoping to continue all throughout fertile period). Not gonna lie it felt very strange now the actual TTC has started!

But very excited and wanting to hear from people on this journey too!

We are doing the same @piechipsgravy!

We got married September 2022 and put an offer in on a house just before the wedding. Our plan was to get wed, move into the new place and do it up a bit while we started trying for a baby.

Sadly, it took eight months for the sale to go through and our old (rented) place was so mouldy there was no way we were raising a baby in it. So it was May 2023 before we were actually in. Then we realised the holiday we had booked and paid for in full was a zika destination and we had to wait until December to start trying.

Now I'm in the TWW and the next ten days feel like forever.

@KittyFantastica what is your next house project? We are putting in a new upstairs bathroom. Never thought I'd be so excited by showers and taps.

@piechipsgravy I'd love to redo our bathroom and I would definitely be excited about new tiles and taps 😆!

Sadly, it looks like I'm about to be made redundant, so it will be small jobs for the foreseeable. We put some shelves up last week and have just picked up six bits of art work from the framers today, so we'll be deciding where to put them up.

Hi guys! Mind if I also get involved? I also ovulated 30th Jan and now in the TWW. Have to test 9th because I’m a bridesmaid at a wedding on the 10th so need to know but it’s cutting it fine!
Random question, does anyone else get a prickling feeling before AF? I had two miscarriages last year and since then this seems to be a common thing for me!

@Dogscanlookup welcome! Same time line as me! How are you finding the TWW so far?

hopefully bridesmaid duties are proving a good distraction! I guess if you don’t get a bfp by the 9th don’t be disheartened or count yourself out as that’s still only 10DPO so still quite early!

sorry to hear about your MCs too 😞 I’m not sure I get the tingly feeling but this month I’m sure I’ll be on high alert so will report back!

@ToeBeans24 aw yeah would be great to hear if you notice anything! Yeah it is super early to test, my friends will be expecting me to drink so it’s a tricky one 😅 I think I’ve learned to deal with the TWW with a “it won’t be this month” then it’s less disheartening. Me and my partner make sure there’s something to look forward to if it’s negative but it’s still hard isn’t it!

A group like this is great too, especially when we’re on the same time line as if someone else at least gets their BFP it’s really lovely and heart warming! So fingers crossed for us all 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I went to a wedding in October where one of the bridesmaids was 9 weeks pregnant. Obviously, no one knew except one other bridesmaid she confided in (her cousin). It made it a lot easier for her as her cousin had to cover for her multiple times so she could go and be sick. She also was taking fake/teeny tiny sips of her wine/bubbles all day and passing her alcohol to her cousin who happily got rid of it for her 🤣.

Ah thats so good she had someone to cover for her! I’ve got a friend I know I will tell so that will help! I think more what I’m worried about is getting a BFN, drinking, but then realising it was too early and actually it was positive 😂 this is just me panicking ha
Trying for a baby is not as fun as it first sounds is it, all the stupid stresses ha

@Dogscanlookup I ovulated last over Christmas, but didn't realise. I continued to drink like a fish all the way through Christmas and New Year, the whole two weeks between ovulation and my positive test as I didn't think I had a chance. It did end in an early loss, but I've been assured by a midwife that a glass of wine here or there that early, while not recommended, wouldn't have transferred to the embryo at that stage anyway!

When is everyone going to start testing? I might do one this weekend as I will be 11dpo

@2doggos how was the competition? Are you over your cold?

im going away and not back until Sunday and AF is due tues so may test Monday, may wait

im getting obsessed tho lol 😩. My HR on Fitbit was going up but it’s dipped today. Not sure if it truly means anything but made me sad.

been away with friends who have a baby and another one who is pregnant this weekend and it was really hard 😞

have you got any symptoms?!

@KittyFantastica so sorry to hear of your loss 😔 yes, this is right that it’s not too harmful but I think after my previous miscarriages I’m just paranoid.
@ToeBeans24 it’s difficult being around people who are in a position you want to be in! How long have you been TTC if you don’t mind me asking?
I just went to a baby shower last weekend on what would have been my due date. It’s hard to not feel bitter! And you feel awful for doing so

@Dogscanlookup its awful isn’t it. Well I feel silly saying this but only officially trying for 1 month. So I don’t hold out much hope in hitting the jackpot first time. As much as I want it to happen.

my partner and I did conceive 2 years ago. I had a coil in 😨. We’d only been together a very short time and I’d got out of a very abusive previous relationship so the timing wasn’t right and I made the tough decision not to continue the pregnancy.

makes TTC all that bit harder emotionally 😢 and symptom spotting to compare to last time. Even tho I was clueless last time but looking back the symptoms were there !

@Dogscanlookup I'm so sorry for yours too. I don't think it's paranoid at all. We all want to do the absolute best we can. Bit of a steep chance, but could you go to a pharmacist and see if they have anything you could get over the counter that says not to be taken with alcohol on the box?

I had antibiotics a while ago for a tooth infection and both the dentist and pharmacist both warned me they were dangerous if taken with alcohol. Have you got any old antibiotic boxes lying around you could take with you and pop a pack of vitamins in so it looks like you're taking them?

@ToeBeans24 The comp was great thanks, very long and tiring weekend though! Still a bit snotty but feeling much better thank you :)

My apps are saying AF is due on different dates so I might test Sat or Sun and just see, hoping I can hold off until then as I've got quite a few cheapies in the house.

It's so hard not to symptom spot isn't it?! I've had nothing other than my temp staying quite high but not sure if that's because of my cold🤔

@ToeBeans24 doesn’t sound silly at all, first month can often be the most tense! And I can completely understand how emotionally it’s even harder due to your past decision etc. at the time you made a decision right for you, but it’s never easy! I feel for you. I really hope it happens first time round 🥰
@KittyFantastica this is such a clever idea!! I must have something in my personal pharmacy cupboard somewhere ha! I’ll give that a go.

I got a positive digital test this morning but soo nervous after my early miscarriage last time. AF not due until Wed but trying to be positive!

I’m 6-7dpo hun. Fitbit and Flo all have a diff date for estimate ov. Given symptoms around ov i think I’m 6dpo today !

@ToeBeans24 thank you ❤️ I had faint lines about 10dpo on early test strips and positive 12dpo on digital today. The only symptom so far is slight cramping at the sides and lower back. Do you have any other symptoms?

no none at all except some light cramping this afternoon and evening! Did you have any symptoms before testing?!

@ToeBeans24 just the cramps that's all. When do you think you'll start testing?
