@4LeafCloverBaby going to fuerteventura for my birthday, well just after my birthday in March xx

KittyFantastica · 23/01/2024 09:11

Morning ladies.

Hubs and I decided we might try again this month, but we were still umming and ahhing until yesterday. I started ovulation testing on CD8 just in case as I use the ClearBlue fertility monitor and it requires testing from CB8 onwards. I'm also using E@H ovulation sticks for the first time and have had some pretty confusing results from them.

The monitor gave its first high reading today, which tracks with what it would usually give in my cycle. The ovulation sticks, though, I haven't a clue. I did the first one on CD8 and it was low (unsurprising), but then it went even lower the last three days. Today, it's still low, no rise detected, so I'm stumped as to which to believe. The ClearBlue detects more than one hormone, so it could be that I guess? I don't know about the E@H.

I've not tracked BBT properly before and only remembered to get my thermometer out three days ago. I've only two days of data, but it's showing a pretty steep rise already (36.53 yesterday morning to 36.77 this morning).

I do have a smaller ClearBlue tracker thing that I've had no luck with in the past. I've only got three tests for it, but I figure if I do one today, one on day 12 and one on day 14, it should give me an idea of whether I'm approaching a peak or not.

It's all fun and games!

Scratch some of that - I've just realised what confused me. Machine has detected oestrogen rise in prep for LH surge in a few days. E@H looking for LH surge, which obviously hasn't happened yet. Hopefully I'll get a flashing smiley on the other ClearBlue machine.

Sorry, redundancy brain has set in. I need more caffeine Blush

4LeafCloverBaby · 23/01/2024 09:42

@KittyFantastica yay, glad you decided to keep trying this month 😊 I use the CB digitals, the first time you do a test it is always going to show a blank circle as it needs a baseline read to work from so you only in theory have 2 tests which I don’t really think will be much help to you tbh as you need to do that one every day really. Hopefully your monitor thing will work for you 🤞🏼🍀

@Lowrilawson oh wow, I’ve been there. Will be a lovely break for you 😊👌🏼

So update from me is that I have started getting the period crampy feelings 😔 I think AF is on her way 🙄 Due on on Fri/Sat

KittyFantastica · 23/01/2024 09:55

Thanks @4LeafCloverBaby, the CB digital is an odd one. The first time I used it (November) I got a static smiley and thought it was broken! I did have issues with it saying refer to manual a lot when using it in December.

I tested with it every day in December and it didn't detect a peak at all. I assumed I hadn't ovulated that month and ended up pregnant. It's not my main tracker, and I don't think I'll go back to it as I find the others easier to interpret, so just using up the tests to see what it says really. If there's any crossover with the last two, it will give a bit more peace of mind, and if it doesn't, well, it showed nothing last month and we still managed 😆.

CharliP33 · 23/01/2024 10:09

@4LeafCloverBaby Well that thought did cross my mind, but I'm sure it's too early.. it was a light brown colour x

CharliP33 · 23/01/2024 10:10

@KittyFantastica Yes we've started testing with BBT and OPK this month - hope it works out for you both <3 x

4LeafCloverBaby · 23/01/2024 10:13

@CharliP33 well I don’t want to get your hopes up but implantation is from 6DPO & that’s the right colour 🫣 Oh I really hope at least one of us lot get a bfp this cycle!!!

@Racket81 how you getting on hun?

OP posts:
CharliP33 · 23/01/2024 10:30

@4LeafCloverBaby God it really would be a surprise this cycle if it was! I'll keep an eye on what's going on, and I'll do a test on Friday as I'm going out drinking on Saturday so need to know before ideally! x

CharliP33 · 23/01/2024 07:20

So after completely ruling myself out this month, as I thought we’d missed ovulation, I’ve now had tender breasts and mood swings for the last couple of days. I’m over a week until AF is due, so this is really weird for me. And then this morning I woke up to a bit of spotting. I must only be 6dpo? And we DTD 2 days after that, so I just think it must be that AF is coming really early? So confused haha.

Just wanted to sound everything out around women who understand!

I thought I hadn't ovulated until December and for a BFP around day 10/11/12! No symptoms at all until the second day I took a test because I felt weird. It's not over until AF really arrives!

Fingers crossed for you.

Racket81 · 23/01/2024 13:09

Cycle day 30, 12dpo still no AF or signs just hanging I nin for a.couple.more days before testing but it probably show up later today now I said that.

Thanks lovely - I suppose maybe I shouldn't be so quick to rule out! Will test on Saturday morning then :)

How you doing today? Did AF show up? x

4LeafCloverBaby · 24/01/2024 09:41

@CharliP33 @Racket81 any updates?

@KittyFantastica how you getting on with your testing?

I’m 12DPO today & had a lot of shooting pains yesterday in ovaries. Today a bit achey. Due on fri/Sat…not testing, very impatient now. Pretty sure af is coming! 😣🙈

OP posts:
Racket81 · 24/01/2024 10:34

13dpo no af. Cycle day 31 2 days late will wait till weekend to test.

CharliP33 · 24/01/2024 11:50

@Racket81 & @4LeafCloverBaby fingers crossed for you both <3

No updates from me! About 7DPO - Still ratty like I've got really early PMS - good job the husband's away lol. Very tired and finding it hard to focus, again, normal PMS for me - but all very early. x

KittyFantastica · 24/01/2024 14:56

We had a bit of an issue last night with our wood burner fireplace spewing smoke into the living room. Running about with ash buckets and wafting smoke out of windows of killed the mood for DTD 😆.

I'm in my fertile window for the next four days, so we will DTD every day now for the next six or seven days depending on what the ovulation checkers say and hope for the best. Neither of us feel as positive this time after our loss earlier this month and with my job situation. We'd have enough, but it wouldn't be as comfortable. Then again, we don't have the time to wait, so it's a catch 22 situation.

@4LeafCloverBaby You're doing well with not testing! I think now that I know how I felt last time towards day 12 I'll be hyper alert to whether I'm feeling the same this time. Only time tells. Fingers crossed for you!

4LeafCloverBaby · 24/01/2024 17:34

@KittyFantastica oh shot!! I hope your log burner didn’t cause too much damage! 🙈 Good luck DTD for your fertile period, hopefully nothing else will get in the way of that!

Yes that’s true, hopefully it will give you a bit more clarity earlier on. I can feel AF coming now, very annoying! Not due on until Friday earliest though

Hi team!

achey boobs over here and some cramping, plus a very spotty face so I’m pretty sure AF is imminent.

cycle is 34 days so it’ll be a while until my next fertile period.

I’ll post when AF starts, wishing you girls lots of BFP’s in the next few days, then looks like I’ll be TTC cycle 3 for feb 🙂

Cazzy87 · 25/01/2024 07:36

my Af is over... fertile from weds onwards it says, one app says next Sunday one app says Mon so will test and dtd from Thurs I think 🤔 🤞

Lowrilawson · 25/01/2024 07:37

@4LeafCloverBaby Awh I really hope it doesn't come for you! Xx

KittyFantastica · 25/01/2024 08:38

Morning!

May I ask a question to those who use ovulation strips? It's my first month using them.

I usually test with fmu. Yesterday, I was busy in the morning and didn't test until about 10am. This was the case for the first test as well, which was darker than the others after it. The line was a lot darker on yesterday's one, even though I'd had a cup of tea before testing. This morning, I tested at my usual time between 08:00 - 08:30, and it was back to being faint.

Is it better to wait until later in the day for ovulation tests? I thought they were like pregnancy tests and to be used with fmu.

Thanks all and hoping you're all doing really well ❤️

4LeafCloverBaby · 25/01/2024 09:03

@Lowrilawson thanks hun, me too! x

@KittyFantastica I test twice a day because my surge always happens in the afternoon. I read somewhere that it’s best to test between 10am-2pm. FMU doesn’t really work very well for me. If you have enough cheapy strips defo test twice a day as if you surge in the afternoon but don’t test until the next morning you will get your ovulation day wrong

OP posts:
Lowrilawson · 25/01/2024 09:04

@4LeafCloverBaby @KittyFantastica my surge is always in the evening! it's odd aha x

KittyFantastica · 25/01/2024 09:15

Oh wow, I had no idea. Thank you so much @4LeafCloverBaby and @Lowrilawson!

I've got loads of cheapies, so I'll test again and lunch time and again in the evening today to see what kind of results they give and then go from there.
