I'm so, so sorry to hear of your loss @Mummysparrow, what an incredibly traumatic time for you. I can't comment on the procedure as I've not had one and I can't even imagine you grief and feelings. I hope you have plenty of support and time to spend with your memories of your baby while you heal.

As for cycle post surgery, I'm currently suffering a lot, mentally, because of my MMC at 10 weeks. I had a D&C 9 weeks ago and my period took 7 weeks to come back. I don't know if I ovulated during that time. That period started 04/05, my smart watch shows ovulation occurred at day 15, but three days ago I started to spot and now it's turned into a full blown AF. I'm absolutely devastated after waiting 9 weeks to be able to try again only to now find the last miscarriage has left my hormones on the floor still. I've been sneaking off to cry all weekend as my MiL has been here to visit.

I've never, ever had a short luteal phase. I don't even know how to help my body get back to normal so we can try again, I really thought this was it. I don't want my experience to scare you though, I know a couple of ladies, one who had a loss at 14 weeks and another who had a still birth, and both had their cycles back within two months. The hormonal fallout of a loss is just so difficult to navigate. I'm sorry you're having to go through it.

Barney2009 · 26/05/2024 18:24

@Mummysparrow sorry you’re going through this. It’s awful. Following my mmc and d&c my cycle went back to normal very quickly. I had a period 19 days after then returned to between 28 and 32 days. Prior to the pregnancy I was very regular, 28 day cycles. I’m still yet to catch though and the surgery was in January. The good news is that I am definitely ovulating so I am hoping I’ll get my rainbow baby soon. Hopefully your cycles will return to normal quickly

4LeafCloverBaby · 26/05/2024 18:33

Congratulations @Racket81 mist be the most amazing thing. So happy for you!! x

@Mummysparrow I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. Sending positive healing vibes x

Thank ypu @4LeafCloverBaby yes it really is just need to hold on to this one and not miscarry again.

@Mummysparrow I'm so sorry you have had to go through this. Thinking of you. X

Mummysparrow · 26/05/2024 20:47

Thank you everyone. Baby was very unwell and unlikely to survive and since having the baby I have found out there is a 1 in 2 chance of it having downs syndrome and the placenta showed signed off calcification. Just got to wait a few months for the postmortem and genetics tests to know what caused all the abnormalities for certain. I am absolutely gutted as it all happened so quickly and I had hoped it would never happen to me. But the labour itself wasn't too bad and the contractions were only an hour.
I feel major guilt for trying to conceive again but I still want another baby and I feel like stopping because of this result would mean I am ending on a bad result. I am sorry to hear of you losing yours @KittyFantastica as you got pregnant not long before me didn't you? Were your periods quite regular before?
Hoping for a positive result like you @Barney2009 and that my period comes back quickly.

KittyFantastica · 08/06/2024 17:48

A little update from me. I'm guarding my heart as my temp plummeted this morning, so AF nah well be in the way.

I'm only 9DPO, I never had a positive this early before, and with all the cycle issues I've had since the MMC, this looks like a miracle. What will be will be but it's my mum's birthday and so, just for today, we are content just to wait and see.

@KittyFantastica fingers crossed it's a sticky one! I wouldn't worry about the temp drop, mine was like that when I conceived. Was convinced it hadn't worked as my temp was all of the place!

KittyFantastica · 09/06/2024 19:01

Thank you @Riverstardust, we are hoping very hard, but feel a bit more prepared now after two losses.

I did my digital this morning and another strip just to confirm; it's always so amazing to see it in writing.

Hope you're all doing okay ❤️

@KittyFantastica how are you getting on? x

Racket81 · 04/07/2024 14:02

That's amazing @KittyFantastica fingers crossed for you. I received a.lettwr this morning inviting me and my partner to tje recurrent muscarraige clinic for testing which is great. So I have to contact them when I have my forst period after thus mc and they will start investigating whats going wrong.

KittyFantastica · 05/07/2024 19:06

So glad to hear you're getting some investigation movement @Racket81 I hope you're doing as well as can be and get some positive results from the clinic!

I'm doing okay, thank you @4LeafCloverBaby I'm struggling with a lot of anxiety and everything feels like it's all on hold for the third time this year. I did have my early reassurance with EPU this week and everything is looking in the right place with a good heartbeat, but I've been there before and it's still ended in tears, so I'm not counting any chickens yet. I also still don't have any symptoms, so don't really know how to feel or what to think at the moment. How are you doing?

4LeafCloverBaby · 05/07/2024 19:24

@KittyFantastica glad everything seems to be heading in the right direction for you 🤞🏼🍀
Do you have anymore scans booked at all or will you wait until the 12 week one now?

I’m ok thank you. Approaching the third trimester now! Seems to be going so quickly now where as in the beginning it went so slowly! x

OP posts:
KittyFantastica · 08/07/2024 13:00

So glad to hear you're doing well @4LeafCloverBaby and I can't believe how quick the time is going for you!

My EPU do a follow up scan after the first one, so my next scan is just over two weeks away now. Still no symptoms or anything, so we're not investing a lot of thought beyond the next scan.

Sorry I haven't rejoined the chat, I don't feel confident. I'm also still struggling with letting my last baby go. I'm having therapy, but it's a bit of a difficult time. I'm shocked and thrilled to be pregnant again, but can't seem to get my head around a February due date or a 2025 due date when I still feel so strongly that my baby should be here in October. That feels awful to say when I think about how lucky I am to have fallen again so quickly. I think October is going to be very difficult for me and hubs this year. We've booked ten days off work and intend to go on a staycation to get away from everything on our last due date.

4LeafCloverBaby · 08/07/2024 13:26

@KittyFantastica hey don’t apologise, you need to do what’s right for you. I can’t even imagine what you have gone through & are still going through but it sounds like you are getting the support you need. Wishing you all the luck for your scan & for everything & keep us updated. You’re more than welcome to join the chat if/when you want to xx

Heya @4LeafCloverBaby We did and things are looking hopeful 🤞 I keep waiting for relief to hit, but it just doesn't come. The pictures weren't great and that worried me too as I was thinking it should look a bit baby-like at nearly 9 weeks, but it just looked like a blob 😆

4LeafCloverBaby · 24/07/2024 10:48

They very much still look like prawns at 9 weeks!

KittyFantastica · 25/07/2024 13:52

Hahaha, this one looks a bit like a bat @AppleTree16 That really made me laugh!

Thank you @4LeafCloverBaby Will keep checking in and hopefully feel better once we reach NIPT and 12 week scan 🤞
