Hey @KittyFantastica - I've done loads of research as I'm going to start using them next cycle too, and the hormone for ovulation tests increases as the day goes on, so you're best to test in the afternoon, or if you want to test twice daily, once at lunch and then once in the evening :) You know, just to make life more complicated haha. Good luck!

KittyFantastica · 25/01/2024 10:38

Thanks @CharliP33, I will definitely do that! To be honest, I didn't do a great deal of research beyond the basics. I used the CB fertility tracker for three months leading up to the month we started trying and it picked up my peak every single time on either day 13 or 14 with FMU. Last month, it didn't ever reach peak, so I assumed I hadn't ovulated, then had the positive pregnancy test before my early loss.

I figured I'd give the strips a go as a second opinion this time in case the same thing happened with the machine again.

CharliP33 · 25/01/2024 11:36

@KittyFantastica Yeah I felt like we totally missed my ovulation this time, so I put some time into looking at how I could accurately predict it. I think for us it's the last few months before we go ask for some fertility tests at the GPs, so I'm just trying to do everything we possibly get it right this time! Going to pair BBT and the strips and the CB ones too, so hopefully I'll have a better answer for the next few months of trying :)

Hopefully helps you too!

Boatlifelover · 25/01/2024 13:12

Hey everyone, how are you getting on ? Well after my dud random positive digital I had the strongest peak yet on opks and dtd the three days prior and on O day. From about 4/5 dpo I started feeling different- really sore boobs and a pain/ ache near my right ovary. Tested every day from 6 dpo cos I'm addicted to POAS 🙈 and couldn't help myself. Stark white bfns up until pm on 9dpo where there was the faintest of lines . Having had a chemical in Nov I'm so wary but tested yesterday (10 dpo) and a slightly darker line . Tested today and have my bfp on clearblue early detection and how many weeks !! So if you're getting stark white bfns hang in there cos you never know !

4LeafCloverBaby · 25/01/2024 13:51

@Boatlifelover 😊 so happy for you. Hoping this pregnancy goes smoothly for you x

Aw @CharliP33 thanks so so much . Just have everything crossed after my chemical, this feels different somehow- we shall see ! Good luck for your bfp and I hope it comes soon x

Racket81 · 25/01/2024 16:36

Babno3 · 25/01/2024 21:43

Hi all, about 5 weeks 5 days gestation and lots of lower cramps and in my legs etc. I do have really bad ibs but just wondering does anyone have any similar pain?xx

Livingonhope · 25/01/2024 22:05

Hi all! haven't posted in quite some time but really really looking for some reassurance....I am day 8 dpo and I am having cramps on my right side for a few days .....I have not a VERY faint line on a pregnancy test and the ovulation test( I know this isn't a guaranteed method) but it's a stark red....now I know its not ovulation as I did have a positive ovulation test 9 days ago but automatically I'm worried about cramping on one side because iv read about optopic pregnancies SURELY I wouldn't be able to tell that soon? any advice/ reassurance please ....I Will wait to Tuesday to I have a missed period and I'm actually with the fertility clinic next Friday ( great timing right!) but I don't think I will be able to stop worrying with this cramping on one side :(

4LeafCloverBaby · 26/01/2024 09:59

@Livingonhope I have read that the opk can pick up pregnancy as the hormones are a similar make up but I know it’s not a reliable source. Good luck with your test on Tuesday 🍀🤞🏼😊

@Babno3 I can’t offer any advice unfortunately but have you though about booking a 6 week scan to put your mind at rest?

Update from me…due on today or tomorrow but my temp shot up yesterday & has stayed up today too. Trying very very VERY hard to stay grounded & not read into it as really don’t want the disappointment. I’m having a lot of shooting pains & cramps & spasms all over my tummy but they feel different to AF, they aren’t so deep in my vagina like AF, more like all over my abdomen. Who knows! Going to test on Sunday if AF doesn’t arrive🤞🏼🍀

OP posts:
KittyFantastica · 26/01/2024 12:04

@4LeafCloverBaby Those are the kind of pains that lead to me doing a test and finding that BFP. I was certain AF was arriving ten days early, but at the same time the cramps were so different. Keeping everything crossed for you!

Unfortunately, I seem to be having the same issue as last month. Today and tomorrow are predicted ovulation dates in both Clue and Flo, and every single test has been totally negative,
Not even a tiny sign of lines getting darker. I had EWCM for one day a few days ago, but it was only a tiny bit. Nothing since at all. Everything is pointing to me not ovulating this month, which is quite upsetting after the chemical.

I hate the wait and see game so much. We are emotionally raw and tired from DTD so often, if I do ovulate but ovulate late I can't see us making it all the way through as hubs has evening work commitments.

4LeafCloverBaby · 26/01/2024 12:53

@KittyFantastica I’m so scared every time I go to the loo of seeing red 🙈 Also I know that because of my age, even if I was to get pregnant it’s a very fragile thing for the first 12 weeks. Not sure if I’ll actually be able to relax at all! Lol

do you bBT? This is a really good indicator to show you have ovulated. Which opk are you using & how often are you testing?

KittyFantastica · 26/01/2024 13:40

I completely understand @4LeafCloverBaby. I've had friends who have had several losses, but still gone on to have healthy pregnancies and babies. It's a lottery the older we get, but there's hope.

My thermometer broke last month. I ordered a new one and it is faulty, but it took me four days to properly realise. There's only one button and it constantly turns itself off. When it does manage to stay on, it just shows the first temp it took four days ago and there's no way to clear it or get it to actively measure. I'm sending it back and feeling pretty miserable about it.

I've got the CB fertility monitor (shows oestrogen rise and peak Lh), CB fertility tracker (flashing smilies and static), Wondfo strips and E@H strips. The monitor and tracker have worked for me before like clockwork August - November. December, they didn't detect ovulation at all. It's my first time using strips and I was so excited lol.

4LeafCloverBaby · 26/01/2024 13:55

@KittyFantastica the thermometer that I have does that too, it shows the last temp taken & then I just put it under my tongue & it starts calculating? What CD are you on & how long are your cycles?

OP posts:
KittyFantastica · 26/01/2024 14:11

@4LeafCloverBaby That's what this one should do, but it gives the same reading every single time and never stays on for longer than 2 seconds. It's never beeped either. Tried changing the battery, but it still doesn't work. It gave the same reading when put in cold water as well.

CD 13, 27/28 day cycle. When I was practicing with the trackers before we started TTC, I'm August, September and October I ovulated day 14. November I ovulated day 13. December I don't know for sure as the trackers didn't pick up ovulation that month and I assumed I hadn't, but then got pregnant. I had the loss and went back to normal, so I suppose it's possible I could ovulate later this time due to that. I'm just sad and impatient this time.

Lowrilawson · 26/01/2024 14:17

@4LeafCloverBaby you have strong willpower to not test! Very proud! Xx

4LeafCloverBaby · 26/01/2024 14:27

@KittyFantastica oh that’s shit! Yeah that’s defo faulty isn’t it! Get one on next day delivery from Amazon maybe.
mots so infuriating isn’t it, just want it over & done with but then it’s the crappy 2ww so it’s no relief really lol! I use the CB digital 4 day ones & I literally get my flashing smiley one day & then the day after is my surge so maybe just test 2-3 times a day & hopefully you’ll just get a quick surge. Like you say though, your body has been through a lot & it might be a little messed up for a cycle. Everything crossed for those red lines for you hun 🤞🏼🍀 x

@Lowrilawson 😂🤣🤪 I feel like I’m going crazy, it’s consuming me right now!! I’m so scared to test! Lol. Bet you’re counting down the sleeps until you’re lovely holiday 😊☀️🌊🍹x

@4LeafCloverBaby Awh I'll bet and I am! Still trying this month just not so closely although I am BBT and doing ovulation tests so still eager for it to happen ahah xx

FantasticalCat · 26/01/2024 15:56

Hi guys, period hadn’t arrived this morning so I thought I’d do a test - is this a real positive?! Or do i need to redo given the line doesn’t extend all the way to the bottom of the strip??

I’m shell shocked!!

@FantasticalCat Wow, that's lovely strong line! I'd go by colour and thickness and say that's a very good positive. Thrilled for you lovely.
