@Itsrainingfrogs my DH is the exact same. I don’t even tell him about chatting on mumsnet or how much I’m thinking about it, DPOs etc, I try to keep it so light because he doesn’t handle the pressure very well. I find sometimes randomly he’s really keen to talk about it so I get as much out of him as I can in those moments 😂 the pressure …hindered… us a couple of times ttc number one, so I’m very conscious of not ruining our chances by talking about it all the time!!

The family thing is so tough. We haven’t told ours we’re ttc either, but I imagine they’ll guess given our baby is getting older. They know it took us a while for her, so doubt anyone would ask thankfully. But my DH’s cousin got married a year ago and their Gma was going on about not hearing a baby announcement yet/time not being on their side etc, and I ended up saying “you’ve no idea what people are going through behind closed doors though..”. Think the fam were quite horrified I spoke up to Grandma but like ..it’s just no okay to comment on people having children (or not)!!

Fingerscrossed2005 · 13/12/2023 14:07

@tryingfortwo2 I have always wondered if in (very far) future they might invent an app that allows you to know instantly if conception has occurred surely they will be able to one day!

emmatcc1 · 13/12/2023 14:27

Hello everyone 👋🏻 I’m 2 dpo today of cycle 17 and af is due on 25th. Not holding much hope as we’re sick but we managed to dtd 2 days before and the day of ovulation.

Richie23 · 13/12/2023 14:31

I’m not feeling confident - one app says ovulation was yesterday, one says today. The ovulation tests haven’t picked up a peak but I’m kind of not taking them too seriously yet. We dtd yesterday, but I have to go out tonight so will try again tomorrow and hopefully that’ll cover me for the two possible ovulation days 🤞

Itsrainingfrogs · 13/12/2023 14:51

@tryingfortwo2 yes!! I had exactly the same with DH and his “mojo” for the months of Oct/Nov, the pressure is a lot for them. Have also never spoken about mumsnet or gone too much into the nitty gritty 🤣

That’s great that your family are being respectful, long may it continue! I think sometimes the older generation just don’t think these things through re: the questions unless they’ve gone through it themselves. They haven’t got the memo that it’s rude to ask 😂 well done for standing up to the gma!

therealpatmustard · 15/12/2023 10:47

Hey Gang, how is everyone feeling today?

I've felt pretty happy for the past week but woke up SO pessimistic and deflated today, I've checked back through Flo and this is pretty typical behaviour of mine from 8DPO so not feeling very confident about this month now. Wah!

I think most of my symptoms can be explained by PMS or external factors.

The only thing I've noticed that is less typical for me is a lack of CM (usually have a fair amount throughout the cycle) and 6DPO-7DPO what I did have, had a pale yellow colour- soz TMI. Googled it, could be a symptom, might not be 🙄

Overall feeling a bit blergh about it all. Will test Tuesday which will be 12DPO for me with a FRER and IC and put myself out of my misery just in time for some Baileys and Christmas films Xmas Grin

Itsrainingfrogs · 15/12/2023 11:00

@therealpatmustard agh the hormones in the luteal phase are just not fun! :( But it’s not over till AF arrives so hang in there! Have you got anything festive lined up over the weekend to help take your mind off the wait?

At least at this time of year the (small) upside is definitely being able to enjoy the alcohol and cheeses over Christmas time! 🎉

I’m 2DPO today (after 8 days of ewcm?!) so had one chance at DTD in the fertile window. I’m not holding my breath as my BBT was super low when I started tracking a few days pre-ov and only 36.6 now post ov (never had that before, usually I’m 36.8-37) which after Googling could suggest sluggish thyroid 🤷🏻‍♀️ who knows. Will be testing on Xmas day morning which will be 12DPO!

Meeko505 · 15/12/2023 11:11

I'll join. I'm 33, TTC cycle 2 for baby 3.

CD 16 now, think 2DPO, probably due around Dec 27th. I said this year we should get an early test for Xmas morning, just because if we did get a BFP it would be nice to get it on the day!

emmatcc1 · 15/12/2023 11:25

@Itsrainingfrogs I had that happen last month. My post ov bbt was much lower than usual making me doubt I ovulated but it went up to normal temps at 6dpo. This cycle my bbt is back to normal pattern.

Itsrainingfrogs · 15/12/2023 11:27

@emmatcc1 that’s interesting! Thank you for sharing. I will keep temping and see if it goes up 🤞

therealpatmustard · 15/12/2023 11:41

@Itsrainingfrogs Thank you so much for your positive message, it's cheered me right up. I have a meal out this Saturday so will be enjoying the wine I think. I plan to watch some Christmas films and keep busy. The 2WW hormones are an absolute bitch.
For your temping, I also had low temps at 1-2dpo, they had a little hike at 3DPO (then I decided to stop temping because it was making me wake earlier) I randomly checked temps 5DPO and 6DPO and they had shot right up. Did a fair bit of Googling, in lots of people they don't fly off 1DPO so try not to be discouraged. This sounds exactly like @emmatcc1 too.

@Meeko505 🤗That sounds like a lovely idea.

Overall, I have decided if it doesn't work this cycle next cycle I'm going to roughly work out the week of OV, DTD every other day around that time and dump the BBT and OV sticks, hoping that will make me a little less mad. The downside of that is that I could possibly become even crazier- we shall find out!

I've also banned myself from Googling random symptoms (MN is not technically Google) and double banning myself from testing before 12DPO.

Fingerscrossed2005 · 15/12/2023 13:01

hi everyone!

oh @therealpatmustard feeling for you I am exactly the same but trying not to compare cycles

One thing I've had come up in abundance the last few days is friggin mouth ulcers particularly on my tongue I'm salt rinsing few times a day just to get an hour or so off so I can eat something. I was out all day yesterday for a work lunch followed by our whole company party didn't drink as I don't tend to anyway but by 8pm when everyone was in full flow with the prosecco I was by the tea stand making myself a takeaway hot choc and doing a french exit. I was SO tired last night and don't feel any better today

Hoping the exhaustion is a positive thing and not some bloody illness to just come and dampen Christmas

Sorry didn't mean to make this post so gloomy

I am with you though for the new year I'm gonna take a break from tracking and see how we go in January if this month isn't meant to be

therealpatmustard · 15/12/2023 13:08

@Fingerscrossed2005 Really nice to have the company for next cycle, hopefully it will be breezier for us both! I'm keen to know if an overload of information and precise tracking makes me feel more relaxed as I know we have hit all our bases, or if it's actually making me feel worse and open to over analysing.

I feel exactly the same, a bit of a Debbie downer today but trying to think of the positives (it's Friday) and hopefully enjoy the weekend. Strange that you mention mouth ulcers, I've had the same! All stress related no doubt, boo.

JuniperandI · 15/12/2023 16:51

@therealpatmustard I'm feeling the same as you! Another pregnancy announcement, another episode of me spiralling in to 'why not me, when will it be our turn'. Had my monthly blood test to check my progesterone and estrogen today too which is never fun. BAH!

I'm off to visit family this weekend so that'll be a good distraction.

We'll all be ok, even if AF rears her ugly head again ❤

5rosebud · 15/12/2023 17:52

I had my work's Christmas party last night, I allowed myself a glass of wine because honestly I just don't think I'm pregnant. The only noticeable difference I've had is a breakout which is odd because I normally have clear skin - however this could just be because I have been busy and not eating the best🤷🏼‍♀️ I also had some bloating but my CM is pretty dry which after googling isn't a good sign. Argh.

Even though I'm sure I'm out I know as soon as I get my period I will spend an hour crying into my hands 😞

therealpatmustard · 15/12/2023 18:17

@JuniperandI hormone testing doesn’t sound like Friday fun! Really hope it all comes back perfect for you.

@5rosebud I hope you enjoyed your Christmas party all the same. I understand how you’re feeling, it’s hard not to note every little thing, I’ve been compulsive this cycle.

I've poured myself a huge (seriously, it’s massive) Baileys and I’m getting stuck into the lebkuchen. If I’m going down, I’m going down festively damn it!

OP posts:
JuniperandI · 15/12/2023 20:26

I don't blame any of you having a drink. I'm about to pour myself another glass of prosecco.

@therealpatmustard lebkuchen is one of the best parts of Christmas!

Let's all be festive and as merry as we can be, for our own sanity!

Meeko505 · 16/12/2023 08:39

My app now tells me I'm 5dpo due to ovulating on CD12 because of a temperature spike. I wonder how accurate that really is but I'll go with it...

5rosebud · 16/12/2023 09:53

I noticed the tiniest bit of rusty coloured CM in my knickers last night (I'm talking minuscule) and also woke up with two brown droplets today. I started getting excited that it may be implantation bleeding but i'm now terrified that I am just starting my period early.

I don't remember seeing any implantation bleeding in my first pregnancy but then I don't think I was obsessive then! Anyone got any experience with implantation bleeding?

Itsrainingfrogs · 16/12/2023 11:50

@5rosebud
How exciting! I would be cautiously optimistic! :) I had implantation bleeding (sadly turned into a chemical), which started with (tmi- sorry!) brown “old blood” as if my period was about to show up the next day. I also had some tiny brown “clots” which made me think it was a period. Then the next day it got lighter and I went back to normal discharge which is when I suspected it was implantation. There were absolutely zero cramps which was also telling.

I have my fingers crossed for you!! If it turns back to discharge after a day or so with no cramps I think it’ll probably be implantation 🎉

5rosebud · 16/12/2023 15:47

@Itsrainingfrogs thank you for responding 🙂 Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy.
I have normal discharge now, the brown spotting was so tiny that I'm worried I'm just seeing things to be honest 🙈

therealpatmustard · 18/12/2023 11:32

@5rosebud It could be implantation, did anything change?

@Itsrainingfrogs Sorry to hear about your MC, how are you doing this cycle?

@JuniperandI I really swung into the baileys and Christmas films this weekend, it was lovely!

No news here apart from BFN yesterday which was 10dpo, plenty of time yet still.

The only other symptom I have is EWCM for the past 3 days which was yellowy on 9dpo and 10dpo and today at 11dpo it's more white CM mixed in with CW.

I didn't test today and it's hit and miss if it's a sign or not, I was going to wait and see if my period arrives on Thursday, hopefully I can hold out, could take a FRer on Wednesday at 13dpo but expecting it to be negative.

Completely threw all the IC tests over the weekend as I was becoming dependent on POAS.

OP posts:
emmatcc1 · 18/12/2023 11:40

@5rosebud I have very light pink cm today at 7dpo. It’s like brownish pink and bbt is high so definitely not af. I’m on cycle 17 and this is the first time this has happened.

Wyewaving · 18/12/2023 12:21

Quick update from me.

11dpo on CD27. BFN on a cheapie. The only symptom I’ve noticed over the last three days is dizzy spells.

AF is due tomorrow on Flo, it was due yesterday according to Premom but I find Flo more accurate.

Disappointed as I would have told my parents on Christmas Day which would have been lovely but onto the next cycle, which will be number four for us.

Babydust to everyone else!

Richie23 · 18/12/2023 13:37

I’m so so irritable today. Haven’t slept well at all the past few nights and feeling quite anxious( don’t know why). I’m 5dpo and this is our first cycle actively trying. My periods only returned last month since having my first baby and before that I was on the pill for years and got pregnant as soon as I came off it. I forgot what it was like to have mood swings and crazy hormones throughout the month.
