Hello!

CD12 here, 31 years old, TTC no 2, 1 DD 2.5 years old. fell pregnant in the summer and found out on dd's 2nd birthday but unfortunately miscarried in July at 8 weeks, no luck since but am upping my anti a little bit using clearblue opks, temping as always but cycle was a bit longer last months so think something has changed perhaps so hence the opks.

I am due on xmas day itself so hoping its another "special day" finding out kinda thing - I dunno just giving myself some hope..!

Fingers crossed to you and others this month xx

therealpatmustard · 05/12/2023 13:00

@Fingerscrossed2005

So sorry to hear about your MC!

I haven't temped before so this will be the first month hopefully seeing a rise on the chart to confirm what I think I know.

All the typical symptoms (EWCM, blah blah) at the moment but DTD every other day rather than every day because last month we really knackered ourselves!

Aw, I couldn't relate more, hoping for great Christmas news, otherwise I will overindulge in Christmas alcohol for a silver lining. 🍷🍹

Hello!
TTC number 2, aged 31, CD7 today so due AF on the 27th Dec. Should be peaking next week hopefully. It’s my first proper month of tracking ovulation / trying. Got pregnant straight away with my first but can’t help feeling like we won’t be so lucky this time. But you never know! 🤞

Swirls346 · 05/12/2023 13:50

Would love to join!
Although period due before Christmas but not much before , due 18th December . I'm cycle day 21 now.
Cycle 7 (I think?) of ttc baby number 2. Had a chemical in October.
First baby was ivf after 18 months trying. Periods much more regular now though than before.
Really hope I get that BFP for Christmas !

therealpatmustard · 05/12/2023 13:59

hey @Richie23 and @Swirls346

I think it's nice to have an array of AF due dates so hopefully our BFP's will trickle in and keep us excited!

@swirls I'm due a couple days after you.

I'm planning to not test too early this cycle, it emotionally and financially took it's toll last cycle.

Any resolutions for anyone else?

OP posts:
Swirls346 · 05/12/2023 14:03

Deffo not going to test early either @therealpatmustard

I'll save myself the money and heart ache and wait for my period.
It's my sons birthday around the same time and he will be 2 so lots to keep my mind off it.

therealpatmustard · 05/12/2023 14:26

@Swirls346

You've got a fantastic excuse to keep your mind occupied, I hope DS has a lovely birthday.

I can't wait to get into the TWW already!

@therealpatmustard therealpatmustard

Thankyou x

I find the temping really useful and its reassuring to see the temp rise so you know you've done all you can hopefully!

Yes apparently every other day is best isn't it, I think we may have overdone it one week last month cos of the late ovulation I was chasing the peak and think my DH was completely over it by the end of the window haha so I'm trying a more relaxed approach this time, this is what I've always done for the other pregnancies as well just think my head is going a bit crazy with wanting to be preggo now... so my resolution this month is to have fun!

Hope you have lots of festive activities planned I have filled our diaries up between work and friends events to distract! (still can't help having a nose on here)

Wishing everyone on this thread so far so much baby sparkles (baby dust but make it Christmas - why not lol!)

therealpatmustard · 05/12/2023 15:36

I'm excited to see the temp rise, I hope I get one anyway!

We definitely overdid it last cycle, it was such a chore by the end of it. Certainly a bit happier at every other day. So this cycle it falls on suspected OV date (according to Flo)

I like the sparkly ltd edition dust you have there!

Hello!
Currently on CD11 and AF is due on 22/12- hopefully not though and I get that BFP!
I’m 28 and currently on cycle 5 of trying. Had a bit of a mixed bag testing OPK (not receiving positives some months) but I’ve been using CB advanced ovulation tests since CD5 and received a negative result the morning of CD5 and a flashing smiley in the afternoon and every morning/afternoon ever since! Really hoping for the static smiley soon. Been BD every other day with the exception one time when it was a two day gap since CD6.

Good luck to all you ladies and wishing you baby dust this festive season!

Secondtimettc · 06/12/2023 01:32

Yes please I'm due on Christmas Eve. Dreading it tbh as it will be cycle 12 for us so will push us into the year mark. It's making me quite sad about Christmas even though I'm very lucky to have a child already.
Not been using OPKs as I find it too stressful but regular cycles and going to dtd every other day (will have to be as we are both out so much in December).

ttcbabyno1x · 06/12/2023 09:09

my AF is due on 29th December. Hopefully we all have the most amazing Christmas and get our BFP’s 🤞🏼

Nic2908 · 06/12/2023 10:17

HiGuys, room for one more?? I am currently cycle 1 day 14 so due to ovulate any time. Period due 22nd December. I am 37 have a beautiful little boy who turns 3 very soon. Unfortunate I had a miscarriage at 16 weeks back in March so not really sure what to feel going forward. Hoping we all bring each other some lucky fairy dust over the coming weeks.xx

therealpatmustard · 06/12/2023 13:55

@MissEmily5 Same, I have such random OPK results, they never get darker than the control line and then my surge seems to last a few days then slowly ebb off. I read that with the CB smileys they are v sensitive so sometimes ovulation can happen 4-5 days after the static- not to spread misinformation, but want you to have the best chance timing wise.

@Secondtimettc Sorry to hear that it seems to be taking it's time 😣

@ttcbabyno1x keeping fingers, arms, legs and toes crossed.

@Nic2908 Really sorry about your mc. It makes things feel more worrisome x

OP posts:
Fingerscrossed2005 · 06/12/2023 14:31

I just wanted to jump in on the OPK result thing, I swore them off first time round thinking they were a load of rubbish, last month I finally got a positive result only on the morning that my CB OPK went static at the same time! After that for the rest of the day I got positive or near to positive results whenever I took the cheapie OPK. That kind of restored my faith in them but personally glad I am using CB also as as I cannot always be doing all that holding and second urine of the day thing, once I spent 20 mins in the bathroom at work to do an LH test just because of how long it takes for the result to show!

therealpatmustard · 06/12/2023 17:35

I agree OPKs can be a pain. Holding the urine is awful, trying to do that now but fearful of my thimble bladder…

Hello! Would love to join too! I’m 31, TTC baby no 1. 4th cycle of trying, fell pregnant on first cycle but sadly was an early loss at 4wk 5 days.
I have pcos so cycles are unpredictable-ish but CD18 today, and AF due 28th Dec (according to natural cycles). Hoping to (possibly) take an early test on Christmas Day… but equally don’t want to spend the day disappointed…!
Resolution for Dec is having fun and taking the pressure off!!

JuniperandI · 07/12/2023 07:52

Me! AF due Christmas eve.

CD14, cycle 15, 3 chemical pregnancies, ovulation predicted for tomorrow. First fully medicated cycle (Letrozole & gonasi). Went for a scan two days ago, 8 follicles and a big juicy dominant one on my right side. Lovely thick lining too.

DH has a week off work so we're taking full advantage with lots of time together and plenty of DTD.

At least we've got lots of exciting festivities to distract us during the 2WW this month ladies!

sandybeach12 · 07/12/2023 10:43

Hey, following with interest. AF due on Christmas Eve, I'm on CD13 and I'm due to ovulate in the next few days. Hoping we all wake up with a nice Christmas present 🎁

Saffie920 · 07/12/2023 11:59

Hey everyone, I'm jumping on as well. It's cycle 3 for me TTC our first. I'm 31.

I'm only CD17 and AF due 21 or 22 Dec. I'm going to hold out testing until 19th or 20th.

I had peak opk yesterday (from early in the morning). I had some ovulation pains last night so I think I've ovulated now. I'm sort of tentatively calling today 1DPO and we DTD this morning as well just to try and cover all bases! We DTD a lot this cycle so we are both a bit worn out now 🤣 hopefully it was enough.

Fingers crossed for everyone on this thread and here's hoping the run up to Xmas can distract us all a bit from the TWW!

Itsrainingfrogs · 07/12/2023 23:45

Following my previous message I think I’m already out for the month ladies! :(
On Tues DTD with DH before going away the next day on the Weds for 6 days… and lo and behold today (Thurs) unmistakable EWCM!
I believe that means we don’t have a chance since we will be apart until next Tue?
Does anyone have any info about how long the fertile window is before ovulation occurs after the first sighting of EWCM? I’m still new to tracking so I don’t have anything to go by from previous months

Saffie920 · 08/12/2023 07:19

Hey @Itsrainingfrogs this month was the first I've properly tracked ovulation and I got EWCM for about 3 days before and then also on day of ovulation. Yesterday was 1DPO and it was still there a bit but starting to get more sticky. Have you got any opk strips? Might still be worth testing over the next few days to see when you get your peak

Itsrainingfrogs · 08/12/2023 07:48

Thank you for sharing your experience! That’s good to know. Great idea on the OPKs! I hadn’t thought of that. At least I’ll know for sure when the peak is and hopefully understand if we have a chance 🤞 I’m also contemplating changing my flight to come home on Sunday instead if it means one last potential try 🤣

therealpatmustard · 08/12/2023 10:36

@Itsrainingfrogs Welcome! it's not over until AF arrives. I would perhaps take everything with a pinch of salt if you have PCOS perhaps not the end of the world that you have new CM? have you been keeping track of your EWCM on your other cycles? I only had 2 days this cycle but have had far more in the past. I'd keep an open mind with the ov sticks too as you may have a few false surges with PCOS, I've only heard this kind of thing from Dsis who has the condition so certainly not a doctor. It may be worth temping to confirm ov? I think the typical advice is that you OV on the last day you get EWCM.

@JuniperandI Woo, all sounds good, hope you make the most of ov and the week off.

@sandybeach12 Christmas eve would be a great time for BFP!🎄

@Saffie920 your cycle is v similar to mine! Due 21st fairly sure I Ov last night CD16 but I only got a tiny temp spike this morning so maybe it hasn't registered yet. Peak OPK was Wednesday CD15 but also high CD14, OPKs very faint now.
Unsure if today/tomorrow is 1DPO 😑

OP posts:
Itsrainingfrogs · 08/12/2023 16:48

@therealpatmustard Thank you! That’s true! I don’t have much to go on as mine is quite erratic- last cycle I only noticed one day of it and then ovulated the next day which was odd. A few months back I had 2 days of EWCM and then didn’t ovulate until (I think) 3 or 4 days later so no pattern really. At least I can track this time and have more data for next time if needed. I will try BBT to confirm. Thank you for the tips!
