Hey! Happy new year to you all 🥰

haven’t caught up for ages so apologies if I’ve missed anything

AF decided to play around with me this month. Now 5 days late for my period but negative tests all the way so definitely out, just the pain of waiting for it arrive now.

think we’ve hit the 1 year mark for trying now. I’m exactly the same in that I’m desperate for a baby on the run up to ovulation and then shit myself until my period arrives. All the same worries - money, time, life is now easier with 7&5 year olds.

will probably carry on for a bit. Said I wanted to have given birth by age 40 so that only gives me until April to fall pregnant. No idea what I’ll do if not pregnant by then! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Morning all, I am 12dpo but unfortunately out.. We had very good timing this cycle, was promising, but then was out on antibiotics as biopsy discovered inflamed uterus lining, and then on top got cold virus so bad that barely can keep my head up 😖
Hoping this tear will be a positive one for all of us!

I'm sorry you're out and ill!!... I hope you get better soon! <3

@TT82 so we are sorta cycle buddies! I'm around the same time as you but my cycles aren't perfectly regular and I don't temp or anything so it's always just an estimate for me. FF says my period is due on Wednesday but I wouldn't consider myself late unless it's still not arrived by Friday as my cycle lengths vary a bit. Hope you're soon feeling better you poor thing what a time of it you're having!

Not optimistic at all for this month as we didn't get to dtd as much as hoped for various reasons.

Tbh I'm finding as time is going on I'm getting less bothered about it?! With my first two it was the opposite. With this one I'm now not eagerly awaiting to see if I get a period or not, I just assume I will get one and I don't feel disappointed when it comes. And when it gets close to the time I actually start to panic in case I am pregnant and get feelings of dread about the HG that would come, the precarious work situation I'm in, the financial strain of a third...not sure what to make of all that, I'm panicking a bit now whether if that's how I feel do I even want a third?! But me and DH talked about it extensively for months before we started ttc so it's not like it was a spur of the moment thing. Does anyone else feel similar?!

I'm the same although I'm not really sure if it's related with my cycle... I go through phases where I'm like "yeah, let's do this, I want another baby!!!" and other phases where I'm like "no way! this is crazy as it is!!!"... Today my husband was alone with the kiddos for 2 or 3 hours and was complaining that he didn't want another, it was chaotic as it is....... I was like, dude, I'm alone with both kids for several hours every day!!!! (we home educate).

I spent the last days binging this Drs videos and found them really helpful.
https://www.youtube.com/@NatalieCrawfordMD
I think what might be making it more difficult for me to get pregnant is most likely egg quality, since I'm 41. This lady is a fertility Dr and has lots of advice in terms of what supplements to take and changes in my life to make to improve egg quality, so that's what I'm going to do. I'm also going to buy some Conceive Plus lube, just in case I need it.

@AnaReis yes I loved her videos too! Cale actoss on Huberman channel. She explained so well statistics behind ivf and what I am getting, and genetic testing etc. So I got hopeful and positive 😊
Though my 9yr old wants a golden retriever..not a baby sibling 😬 He said I have an older sister, that's enough..

@TT82 that's exactly how I came across her videos lool I was watching Huberman videos on youtube!

AnaReis · 07/01/2024 18:38

@TT82 that's really funny what your 9yo said! Can't blame him! My 2 want another baby... I want one too.... some days... lol some days I just want peace and quiet!!! 😅

Miamisun · 07/01/2024 19:29

I had a positive test just before new years and started being sick (i have HG) sore boobs , super tired etc. Period due date came and a super faint positive. Then all my symptoms started to disappear and tests are getting lighter. I’m not sure I can keep doing this. Maybe I should just settle with my 2 kids and move on. Anyone else starting to feel the same?

MrsPepper82 · 07/01/2024 19:30

I also love Natalys videos 🥰 I rhink she is a perfect mix of reality and staying positive.
for me best thing is that I love this feeling of me and DH having a goal and I am so drawn to him and want to feel young still 🫣
Of course I would love love love to have a baby but as written some pages ago - there are more pluses on staying with only 2.
If one would put having #3 on a paper 📝 pros and contras there would be only emotional value on plus side 🫣

@WeightoftheWorld this me! HG is the added fun and I have a TMFR due to HG and covid at the same time / organ failure. I wish I could go back to the innocent days before my TMFR. I’m so scared of pregnancy but want another baby. I think I’m ready to call it quits we have tried a few times now for a third.

Beginningless · 07/01/2024 20:26

So helpful to hear of others being up and down, I suppose it’s only natural when you already have 2 wee people needing you. Their needs coming into account and our experiences managing all their needs being easier and harder depending on the day. I often think @Miamisun maybe we should stop - we did for 4/5months in the middle of last year, but then decided we really did want one last punt at it. I tell myself that when it’s right to stop, I’ll know.

I can imagine for those of you with HG, that the fear is real and I don’t blame you for questioning whether you are prepared to go through that. It’s cruel how it happens to some and not others.

I’m about 8DPO and wondering if I didn’t ovulate this month, not much cm when it’s usually quite obvious for a few days, and no sore boobs after ov, they usually ache.

TT82 · 07/01/2024 21:08

@Miamisun so sorry to read about your chemical..I know this pain of hormones up (and hope) then a crash down 😞 I had 4 since we started trying 2 years ago. Couldn't cope, decided that ivf will help to find and transfer the good one.. But so far no luck either! But after listening to podcasts I am a bit more hopeful..not sure for how long though

TT82 · 07/01/2024 21:09

Now think that golden retriever puppy is also like having a baby 🥹

babbaganoush · 08/01/2024 15:43

Hello everyone, please can I join?

We are on our second cycle ttc our 3rd baby. I have 2 boys aged 5 and 3 (both conceived first cycle so this is new territory for me - and I totally appreciate how lucky we were to conceive so quickly both times).

I'm 33 and far more overweight than I was with my other 2 so I suspect things may take longer this time. My cycles are also not as predictable as they used to be. Currently on CD12 and think I will ovulate anywhere between CD14-20.

Does anyone else swing between feeling insanely broody and 100% sure you are doing the right thing and then just thinking oh my god what are we doing going for a 3rd?!?

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 08/01/2024 16:00

Hi @babbaganoush welcome! My kids are exactly the same age, and yes - all the same thoughts re whether or not to go for no 3 - we’ve just been discussing that exact point on the thread!

Hope it all happens quickly for you this time round! I conceived first time x 4 (3mcs and DC1) then took 3 cycles to conceive DC2.

I’m on cycle 4 now ttc no 3 though 2 of those weren’t really trying properly - DH was away during peak fertility on cycle 3 and this cycle 4 was just an accident really as we were planning to delay until next month, so only dtd once. I’m 5-6dpo I think so not in full symptom spotting madness yet.

Hi, Can I join, please? Currently cd6 and planning on beginning to ttc number 3 this month. My cycle has been a bit all over the place since my period returned in August when my youngest was 17 months old. I've just started taking taking Wild Nutrition fertility supplement and omega 3, co-q10, and agnus castus. I'm hoping this combination will help reduce my cycle length whilst extending my luteal period, which is currently only 8-10 days long. If this doesn't work then I will wean my youngest completely, as I'm pretty certain this is affecting things.

AnaFox · 09/01/2024 08:50

Welcome @babbaganoush and @Welshcake15 ! 😊

I also dance between "omg I need another baby in my life!!" And "what on earth am I doing??? Must be insane!"

I also breastfeed my youngest who turned 4 on the 2nd of January 😅 I got pregnant with my youngest at the first try when I was breastfeeding my eldest too lol but everyone is different.

I'm also going to start taking Fertility smart supplement, Omega3 and CoQ10, to see if it helps.

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 09/01/2024 09:08

Hi @Welshcake15!

Impressed at all you people who can even contemplate another child while still bf! Both times I lost all libido while bf, for 13 months with DC1 and 18 months with DC2 - Dh was not happy!!

Im taking vitamin B complex, omega 3, vitamin D, COQ10, turmeric and inofolic. Feel like if you shook me I would rattle! But on the plus side I’ve been really well all over winter (touch wood) and seem to have avoided all the kids viruses so I think the supplements are doing me some good at least.

OP posts:
MrsPepper82 · 09/01/2024 18:48

Hahahaa @Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow Vitamin rattle here, hi 👋 @Welshcake15 and @babbaganoush I hope you are on a quick visit here and move along fast.

I have such hard time understanding what can be considered safe and what not. I took for a longer period of time ashwaganda until somewhere it was written that no proper study on it’s effects on pregnancy was done and should be avoided.
So at one point switched to follicular phase using only.
Other topic is cohosh’s effect that some praise and maca aswell - some say they mess up hormones. I was at some point taking those. And in many many sources L carnitine is taken to increase egg quality and in few they say it breaks them. Like please agree what to do 😅🤔
I take zinc, selenium, iodine, all list of B-s including folic acids and inositol, C, E, hylauronic acid, collagen, magnesium, NAC and ALA. And co q 10 and omega both from 🐟 and buckthorn (frozen local berry form). Also daily ginger raw to keep my blood flowable. My hgb is max and it has same tas baby aspirin. And tumeric in form of tea. But again only in first half.
So a meal a day with those is covered 🤓

I got head hunted yesterday. They want to recruit me with 25 percent higher salary with less bureaucracy (I today work in finance area with sooooo many dos and don’ts and laws applicable and super cross country that makes simple decisions a journey. There I could do it with less fuss. I am so tickled. I know its not selfish to say no because we TtC as there is low success rate. And would hate if I wouldn’t take it on just due this reason. But to be honest my best case scenario would be that my current super nice company would give me a bit matching salary proposal and I would get already now my bfp. This is a great test for understanding my true wishes.
#4dpo - I think I have given myself possibility to take it easy for another 3 mornings and then will expect some shift in bbt.

WeightoftheWorld · 09/01/2024 23:17

Gosh, I wasn't taking anything except pregnacare. And not even that for the past few weeks as ran out and not optimistic so haven't bought more yet. I really should tho just because of the folic acid if nothing else.

It won't let me tag you ifyouknowyouknow but I was exactly the same with the BF and no libido!!

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 10/01/2024 10:00

Congratulations @MrsPepper82 - nice to have such a good offer! If your current place is nice then I’d be tempted to explore options with them before jumping ship. It’s hard to start a new job while also going through ttc - this is why we are looking at a 4 year instead of a 2 year age gap - I needed to wait until I found a new job, served notice, became eligible for enhanced mat pay etc etc…wondering now if it was all a mistake and I should have just stayed put!

I’m 7 or 8 dpo (I think?!) and no symptoms to speak of so trying to come to terms with the fact that this isn’t our month. Will try to hold off testing until Sunday when I’ll be 11 or 12 dpo. Have deliberately not bought any tests yet!

Welcome @babbaganoush!! 💜

Welcome @Welshcake15 🥰
I was/am in a similar boat to you. DC2 is 16 months and I stopped BF in September. I actually conceived in August but it turned out to be a chemical. Like you, my leutal phase could do with lengthening! I can start spotting between 8-10DPO, then full blown AF from 11DPO onwards 🙃

I'm taking Proceive and also read Ginseng can improve egg quality. So giving that a go too. Also improves memory so that's a plus 😄

Thats a great cocktail!! I may need to add COQ10 to my supplements as I see a few people on here are taking it.

Kinda lost labido too with BF but it came back 6-8 months PP. Everything before that was few and far between 🤣🤣 and even then boobs were definitely off limits 🤢

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 10/01/2024 12:53

@WhatTheEll COQ10 is recommended for improving egg quality because it boosts every cell in the body, so is good for you regardless. I find it quite expensive though - I get high strength ones from boots.
