hello all

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

only got a minute so not enough time to properly catch up but I spotted another BFP so congrats to Morgan Are there any more I missed??? There seem to be loads of graduates from this thread so big congrats all round. Should we ask one of the grads to start us a lucky new year thread? I don't fancy waiting 'til next christmas for this particular present!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I did and am now a little sad that it's all over so will be looking for some positive news to cheer me up!

CD9 for me so just waiting for persona to start asking for tests and crossing my fingers that it gives me an O this month. No idea at all what's happening with my cycles atm so will have to just bd as much as we can whenever we can!

btw - cockenzie, is that where you're from? Saw sign posts when we were in E.Lothian - it was all so beautiful up there so I can see why you'd miss it. Where are you moving to?

Cockenzie - FF stands for Fertility Friend. It is a website you can use to chart your BBT.

Becki FF has done that to me the past two months. Do you think that you may have Ovd regardless though?

CD6 for me (month 5 of TTC) so not much news there. Thinking of trying OPK this month to see if they detect OV or not. Am also trying to get fit and lose wieght, Joined gym yesterday and start diet tomorrow.

BeckiF · 03/01/2005 22:43

Hi Hula - no I don't think so because although my temp dropped dramatically 2 days ago (as it would were there an implantation), it has ony gone up a tad today and not over my coverline. I do have some cramps yesterday and today, but PCOS is a b*tch ... I hate it.

Hi am now going to ttc again and have a quick question. We tried for 3 yrs for dd, when we finally did conceive we definitely didn't shag at the right time so I suspect I may ovulate at an odd time. Do these things that tell you when you are ovulating actually work? Are they expensive and where is the best place to buy them? Or would using a persona machine in reverse be better?

TIA

Sorry Beckief. You must feel so discouraged. It will only be a small consolation but ff also told me that I did not ov on a month that I fell pg. I did not have a membership but was using the free trial at the time. It is not always right. Will keep you in my prayers for a 2005 bfp.
As for me, DH left for Ottawa this morning; kids and I to follow on Saturday. Rather a sad goodbye at the airport (especially for DS1 who is 7). Hoping not to Ov between now (CD 12) and then (CD 17). Was moaning about too long a cycle last time and suspect that I will be whingeing about too short a cycle this time around.

CDDD: Welcome to the TTC game! I have not used the Ov predictor tests but I did read the book 'Takng Charge of your fertility' by Toni W___ (mind drawing a blank on the surname) and I now know when I am ovulating. Not everyone has a 28 day cycle or ovulates on day 14. Someone more clever than me should be along shortly to actually answer your questions. Forgive my rambling.
All the best.

Thanks Canadianmom (esp for reminding me to go back to my non xmas name!) I do have regular 28 day cycle.

Canadianmom - I got 10dpo on the chart, until after todays temp it changed it's mind. Very upsetting for me as this was the last attempt before having to go the IVF route.

Canadianmom · 03/01/2005 23:34

BeckieF: I am sorry. I wish I knew what to say. you have been through so much and the last thing you need is to have conflicting info from FF. Do you always do your temp at exactly the same time? Did you have anything to drink New Year's Eve?
As I said earlier, I tried to use the program and I was frustrated that it suggested that I had not ovulated because I was fairly certain that I had and I was right as I was indeed pg. It was a temp issue that time too.

Canadianmom · 03/01/2005 23:36

sorry for the delay. I thought that I hit post before wandering off but it was on Preview Message. Are you still up? (It is only 3:36 in my corner of the world)

{{{Hugs}}} Very frustrating indeed! Must run but keep us posted. I hope that you do not need the IVF but if so I wish you immediate success. The advantage of IVF is that you know where you stand.

Hi girls sorry but i have been a traiter atm i have been on a ausie chat room talking about ivf. Got my first appointment with the councellors and the nurse on Monday. so the ball starts rolling then. Very nervous & scared about it all but as canda said at least you know where i stand and i dont have to rely on nature so much to take its course so to speak.

Morning!

CD - I haven't used an OPK so not sure on accuracy. May try one this month though. Instead I have monitored by BBT and charted it on fertility friend.com and I monitor CM.

Happy New Year to everyone! I am back at work today and haven't had chance to read this thread yet but am hoping that there will be some good news on it. I had a horrid cold/flu bug for my entire 2 week holiday which is typical. So not holding out any hopes of success with the ttc this month. Am on cd24 today...so have a few days to wait yet. Actually ov on cd14 this month so looks like my system may have settled - not before time!!!
Best of luck to everyone this month and hugs to you all - have missed the chats....

Hi all

Sorry to hear you've been ill Sallie - it is so typical to get ill once you finally stop for a break and so frustrating. Hope you managed to have a nice Christmas and New Year regardless.

BeckiF - no wise words I'm afraid but I am sending you lots of hugs and positive baby thoughts for 2005. You really deserve some good news after all you've been through.

CD - I used persona for DS and am a big fan. I had a long cycle and never had any luck with OPK but had quick success with persona. Have just started using it again and am hoping to repeat this although so far my cycles are being pretty erratic. Am hoping that this is due to coming off the pill and that they'll settle down into some sort of pattern soon. Good luck with the ttc!

Hello to everyone else too! Hope the return to normality is not too dull. DH is on his final day's holiday today so we are off out for the day to stretch out the last bit of holiday!
