Hi Everyone and Happy New Year. From the sounds of the last few posts, a BIG CONGRATES TO SALLY . Just wondering if I could join your thread. I haven't read thru all the posts but will sit with a coffee later on and read up on all of you. I've got to admit the "conception" topic was never on my list of topics that I'd browze as I didn't discover Mumsnet until I was preggers with 1#. Now, however, it's a different story. I gave birth to a chunky healthy little boy last Xmas after many years, drugs, dyes, laps, lazers, tears. I'm still breastfeeding but my period returned on his 8 month birthday. We've been TTC since then. My previously regular-as-clockwork 28 day cycle is now all over the place and I'm not 100% sure when I ovulate ... even if I ovulate. My mates (who have all got pregnant without trying!!!) tell me to relax and just bonk like crazy all month but my husband works nights 6 days a week so we really do have to plan things - not helping I'm sure. Well, that's about it! Cheers and hope to chat soon

Ok, why not? Can't believe that I tested today...on cd24 - well actually I can! I am one of those early and prolific testers. Am sure I will do many more tests in the days to come, just to make sure.....!!! Sending lots of babydust to everyone

btw - it feels a bit weird having a 'Christmas' thread now. As our latest new year graduate do you think we could ask Sallie to start us off with a lucky 2005 thread??? (If you want to Sallie, of course) Oh, and if she does could all the many graduates from this thread dump a shedload of babydust into it??? Ta

Congratulations Sallie . What fantastic news! I am so pleased for you. Wishing you a very healthy and happy 9 months.

Welcome HM. 'Fraid I can't answer your question either but I guess the only real way to know is to give it a try though given your history it would probably be worth having a chat with your GP anyway. I don't know how long a referral takes but it might be better to get into the system sooner rather than later.

Ernest - sorry you're having a hard time atm. Take care of yourself and come back when you are ready. (((hugs)))

Ernest: Sorry that you are feeling blue. Please come back and chat when you feel up to it. Happy New Year.
Welcome Hunkermunker. Not too sure about your chances of natural conception. Have you asked your GP? Hope someone elso more helpful comes along shortly.
Sallie: A line is a LINE! No such thing as a false negative. You are really pregnant! Congratulations. Now, put your feet up and take it easy!

Sorry - forgot I had posted previously with almost the same message - am losing my braincells already (perhaps I never had them!!). Anyone else experience such an early BFP? Am just having a slight panic that no 3 might be nos 3 and 4!!!

Thanks for your kind wishes. Have now done 3 tests as couldn't quite bring myself to believe the 2 First Response tests which came up with BFPs. Have just done a Boots Digital which isn't supposed to be used until the day af is due. I am only cd24 and it came up with a BFP. Am stunned as the previous times I have been pg, I haven't got BFPs until I was at least a few days late. Anyone else have such early results?

Have just done a Boots digital test as couldn't quite bring myself to believe the First Response test I did and that came up with a BFP too, despite it saying that it isn't supposed to be used until the day AF is used! So I guess that I am pg albeit very very very early days....still paranoid though

Hi ladies

OMG - can't believe I'm on a ttc thread...but...I am!

DS was conceived on Clomid after 10 months of trying. I fell pg on the first cycle, which amazed me because I have severe endometriosis and PCOS.

I'm still breastfeeding (DS was 9 months old yesterday) and have had two periods since he was born (50 days apart, so have no idea when I ov - much like before I took Clomid...!).

Does anyone know if I'm likely to fall pg naturally or if I'm going to need help again (I know, how can anyone know that?! But I'm still gonna ask...)?

I realise if I fall pg soon, there won't be a huge gap between our children (which is a bit daunting), but what I'd hate to do is wait till DS is older and then not be able to conceive. I'd always wonder what would've happened if we'd tried sooner...

I'm rambling now - hi everyone and will catch up reading this thread when DS isn't shouting for his lunch

OMG! Just did a First Response Test stupidly early (am on CD24 out of a 'normal cycle' of 28 days) and have a positive. One line is definitely fainter than the other, but its definitely there. Am now petrified as mc in Sept. However, when I was pg that time, got a series of bfns until I got a bfp...... Can't quite believe it as had the cold from hell over Christmas. When I bought the FR test this morning (in a vague hope), I also bought a multi pack of tampons! Hoping I won't need them now....

Hi all

Sorry to hear you've been ill Sallie - it is so typical to get ill once you finally stop for a break and so frustrating. Hope you managed to have a nice Christmas and New Year regardless.

BeckiF - no wise words I'm afraid but I am sending you lots of hugs and positive baby thoughts for 2005. You really deserve some good news after all you've been through.

CD - I used persona for DS and am a big fan. I had a long cycle and never had any luck with OPK but had quick success with persona. Have just started using it again and am hoping to repeat this although so far my cycles are being pretty erratic. Am hoping that this is due to coming off the pill and that they'll settle down into some sort of pattern soon. Good luck with the ttc!

Hello to everyone else too! Hope the return to normality is not too dull. DH is on his final day's holiday today so we are off out for the day to stretch out the last bit of holiday!

Happy New Year to everyone! I am back at work today and haven't had chance to read this thread yet but am hoping that there will be some good news on it. I had a horrid cold/flu bug for my entire 2 week holiday which is typical. So not holding out any hopes of success with the ttc this month. Am on cd24 today...so have a few days to wait yet. Actually ov on cd14 this month so looks like my system may have settled - not before time!!!
Best of luck to everyone this month and hugs to you all - have missed the chats....

Morning!

CD - I haven't used an OPK so not sure on accuracy. May try one this month though. Instead I have monitored by BBT and charted it on fertility friend.com and I monitor CM.
