Huge Congratulations @happytobemrsg, that’s such wonderful news and what a good line!! X

Pineappleapple · 19/10/2023 05:29

,@happytobemrsg wow! That is really clear, amazing! Very pleased for you

EvelynKatie · 19/10/2023 06:01

@happytobemrsg congratulations! Lovely line.

AF due today and I’ve woke up with cramps. Onto cycle 4, although DH starts new job with more travel and will be away during my fertile days.

El1988 · 19/10/2023 06:48

Good morning ladies! Hope everyone is doing well today?

@EvelynKatie ah no that’s very annoying he’ll be away! Is he away for the full 5 days before and the day of ovulation? 😔

CurlyWurly1991 · 19/10/2023 07:49

@happytobemrsg what a beautiful bfp !! Wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months !

sorry to hear about all the covid and illness. Tis the season, I guess. I’m still having an anovulatory bleed and hoping it buggers off so we can get trying again. I’ve realised that There’s no rhyme or reason to when I might ovulate as the start of the bleed is not CD1 so I have started OPKs.
realised that of all my blood results probably the most telling is the iron deficiency. I’ve been listening to the period repair manual on audible… really good for anyone with irregular/heavy/painful periods. Turns out my ferritin of 29 could be a factor in my anovulatory cycles, so I am back on the iron and going to buy some chicken livers and force them down 🤮

H0pefull · 19/10/2023 08:21

oh congratulations @happytobemrsg !! lovely news, everything crossed for a healthy pregnancy for you ❤

sending you lots of love @SnookyPook , so glad you've been offered a scan and hopefully you get some good results from the repeat bloods.

@Cressie2 , I rang my surgery yesterday and was told she's off this week so wil have to wait for next week if i definitely want to see her, which i do. Which works out quite well really as due AF in 6 days, hopefully it doesn't arrive but if it does, that may put me in a good position for any bloods I am offered if I am at the start of my cycle. How are you?xx

EvelynKatie · 19/10/2023 09:10

@El1988 To be fair he's not but is away a couple of nights close to it, and given how perfectly I've timed it for past 3 cycles and BFN it doesn't give me much hope. Who knows, maybe it might work out, there's always hope!

EvelynKatie · 19/10/2023 09:12

@CurlyWurly1991 That sounds a nightmare, and sounds a good idea to start the OPKs. Hopefully bleed stops soon and the iron tablets work!

FigandHoney · 19/10/2023 09:42

@happytobemrsg Congratulations!! I am so happy for you. I had an incline. The blue veins did really convince me you were pregnant!

@SnookyPook Glad you can get a 6 wwwk scan. Thinking of you and hope it all goes well.

I have heard that sometimes having a lowered immune system can help with implantation. Not sure if that's actually true though.

Everyone who knows their vit D and iron levels, have you asked the GP for a specific test for that? My blood test was ages ago and I don't have access to the results. Tried the NHS App. I sm more and more tempted to get a test through hertility

Yes -
You can ask your gp for feretin and vit D

In August a consultant told me that 4 out of 10 females walk round with a feretin/ iron deficiency

Vit D - we are going into uk meh winter
Even more reason to ask 4 vit D test

Noticed in shops they are now doing / offering some actimel drinks with full vit d dose in
Alongside the ones that offer a third of vit D
Etc .

Highly recommend hertility health

FigandHoney · 19/10/2023 12:55

@worldwidetravel2017 Thank you. That's quite a shocking statistics. And since I suffer from fatigue it wouldn't surprise me if I was low on iron. I did have issues with low iron as a teenager.
Do I need to give them a reason for requesting it. Ie. We are TTC. Is that even reason enough at only tge 2nd month trying?

Angelsrose · 19/10/2023 13:03

It might be useful to mention you are TTC, @FigandHoney and they are reasonable bloods to request, especially early on in the journey.

Congratulations @happytobemrsg excellent news!

Yes
Being a female with periods is enough to request feretin / iron
Also trying to concieve
And / or fatigue

Vit d fatugue / aches / trying to concieve / lack of energy

Apricots and raisins are good snacks 4 iron

One of my friends swears by 2 wheat bisks 4 every day of her pregnancy 4 helping her get to a full live birth

FigandHoney · 19/10/2023 14:24

Thank you ladies. Following this conversation I filled out an online consultation with my GP and she has referred me for the ferritin and vitamin D. Plus in addition to this she has requested my full blood count, thyroid function, HbA1c (sugars), calcium, kidney function and folate.
Just need to get a date booked in now. Got a response much faster than I expected

SnookyPook · 19/10/2023 14:35

@FigandHoney that's great! 😀

El1988 · 19/10/2023 14:40

Hi ladies

i just wanted to provide an update on the whole hair loss prevention tablets (finastiride) and spermiograms.

so my husband did another one last week and the results were all in the normal range, and apparently even a bit better than a year ago. They also did a blood panel this time and that was all normal as well.

the only thing we don’t have info on yet is the dna fragmentation of the sperm, because apparently we have to wait until mid November for those results??? Like I really don’t see how it could be that slow but aaaaanyways.

in the meanwhile I have a consultation booked with another clinic online in mid November to see what they say about it all…

i think it was @SnookyPook who was particularly interested in this topic? Apologies if I have tagged the wrong person, head like a sieve these days.

8/9 DPO today and starting to get itching fingers in the direction of the pregnancy tests even though I really highly doubt I could be pregnant… like a crazy person I went earlier to look at the ones I have in the house… just look at them, you understand… not pee on them or anything…

DH is away this weekend and I probably shouldn’t test without him and also I probably shouldn’t waste a test before AF is overdue but am I extremely tempted? 👀

happytobemrsg · 19/10/2023 14:50

Thank you so much everyone! Still in shock but will step away from tests lol 😆

or was it @SouthwestSis?

El1988 · 19/10/2023 14:52

@happytobemrsg hahaha I think you can pee on all the sticks you want right now! 😊 I’d be doing the same!

Cressie2 · 19/10/2023 15:37

@happytobemrsg 💥💥💥so happy for you.

@El1988 really good news about the clinics - hopefully you’ll get clarity soon. Also, you’re totally going to cave and test whilst your DH is away. I know I would 😂

I’ve been trying to follow all of the above with iron and vitamin d etc from @worldwidetravel2017 @FigandHoney and just ran to the kitchen to scoff a handful of raisins and then felt extremely satisfied that my iron levels would enjoy that. Hahaha.

Anyone else testing early this week? It’s ovulation day here for me…

Ace - folate is a good way to check your body is absorbing the folic acid
In june mine was 7
Started prescription folicacid in july

Now its 22 :)

Id also ask for b12
Good b12 is important for conception and pregnancy
Mine was too low in mid July
Got it up a bit in late July and aug
Concieved from mid -late aug ovulation
Then early miscarriage

I now get b12 checked - its currently over 300

Have added extra scrambled egg & extra jacket potato to my diet 4 b12

El1988 · 19/10/2023 15:46

@Cressie2 i mean maybe I will cave and test tomorrow 🙈🙈🙈 but if not then there is a high probably I won’t last the weekend… 👀👀👀

also scoffing a handful of raisins 😂😂😂

worldwidetravel2017 · 19/10/2023 15:48

Nervous here 4 hospital next week

Ct abdomen scan :(

Never had 1 before

Abnornal/ elevated ca125

Could be linked 2 inflammation still from glandular fever last year
Had bowel polyps removed during urgent colonoscopy in May..

But ca125 can be linked 2 some cancers like pancreatic

Had ovarian cancer , stomach cancer ( gastroscopy). & bowel cancer ruled out

Could be endo but gynae thought not
And given all my bodies been through the last 6 months - & our hopes - gynae said not the time to do a laparoscopy

I do have a fibroid but only small

@FigandHoney - have you ever had a transvaginal scan to look 4 fibroids / check ovaries / check 4 structural ?
Thats something else you can request

Over 35s who get heavy periods & havent conceived yet get them quicker
