Day 3 PO for me today but found myself having second thoughts about number 2 when my toddler had an absolute meltdown in a supermarket yesterday for no apparent reason. It went on for so long and I was so mortified!!
Working today so that's keeping me busy

@El1988 can you hold yourself off by buying chocolate instead of more tests?!
Keep going everyone

H0pefull · 23/09/2023 12:38

Fingers crossed for you @El1988 !! When are you due AF? X

MOGMOGMOG85 · 23/09/2023 17:44

@MrsBP15 im so sorry youre suffering really bad cramps :( I hope you're feeling better soon.

@JustTrying1 that sucks I'm so sorry!!! I guess the only silver lining is you can try again sooner and the 2ww was short?? But yeah I hate when my period comes early:(

Cd28 today so I'm late. I guess usually af would have arrived today on average (it's a bit confusing for me as I used to be 28.5days average for decades and since my son almost 3 years ago I'm more like 26.5). Tested yesterday morning absolutely nothing but had lots of ewcm. Can't tell about that any more as we dtd last night. Cervix super low which has been happening lately just before af. Intensely hormonal, anxious and angry - this bit is not so normal at this stage for me (I usually chill out a bit just before she arrives and I don't usually get anxious at this point in my cycle). Also feel restless and a bit hyper which really reminds me of nesting with my son (which seemed to kick in early, I know it's supposed to be later).

Usually I might spot if af is due, especially after dtd.

And then there's the cramping - cramped on cd23 and CD26 then nothing.

I'm so confused by all the conflicting information. Can't wait for this to be over. Am I deluding myself that I may still have a chance after a negative test on cd27?

@El1988 if you saw something I think that's a good sign! I've done A LOT of early tests and I've only ever seen something twice when it was true, and of course I always r3ally really wanted to see something xxx

CurlyWurly1991 · 23/09/2023 18:20

@MOGMOGMOG85 @El1988 really hope you both get your BFPs in the next couple of days!
Ive probably said it before but I didn’t get a bfp with my first until 18dpo, and even then it was negative within the timeframe (a frer with the first wee of the day).

After being stung before I’m not symptom spotting or testing early this time - however, at 8dpo I have horrible backache and have had to rest a few times today. I have probably injured myself somehow and it’s been annoying today. Apart from that I’m as usual in the cycle - spotty, irritable and feeling cold and tired…

VixFromThe6ix · 23/09/2023 19:30

@MOGMOGMOG85 @CurlyWurly1991 sorry you're both not feeling the best. Hope your partner's are giving you extra love with back rubs, chocolates and lots of kisses.
I feel super tired these last two weeks. It's not anything to do with my hormones but more with the seasons changing. Even though it's still quite pleasant outside (20-22c), every year I just feel extreme loss of energy from like late September into early December. Not sure if it's a thing but definitely doesn't help things.

@SouthwestSis oh no! I totally feel that. my 20mos old is getting into tantrums now and I definitely am finding it hard to deal with. Can't imagine being pregnant, hormonal and dealing with a screaming toddler. But can't really afford to wait much at 40 :)

Bumblebee413 · 23/09/2023 20:49

It’s a relief to read that others have panics about having a second. I’m hopelessly broody but every time my toddler has a bad day or my period comes and my hormones are at their meanest, all I can think is whether I’m just being completely ridiculous and that it’s probably for the best that I haven’t fallen pregnant. That if I find it this hard with one, what on earth am I thinking.

I’ve had a bit of a weird attitude this cycle. I was being very relaxed and haven’t done OPKs or been particularly obsessive with counting the days in my cycle as usual. EWCM kicked in two days before my DH got home (he works away) and finished about 24 hours after, by which point we had DTD. At this point I looked at the NHS due date calculator (because I’m a crazy lady) and the due date is the date of my best friend’s wedding, for which I am a bridesmaid and is 2.5 hours from where we live. I went into labour at 40+1 last time.

My DH is back for good in 7 weeks, after a really long year of solo raising a toddler and I’m exhausted. But also really looking forward to being a family again and I think in my head I’ve just accepted that things won’t happen before then, as this is now month 7 of trying. I’m reaching neutral acceptance I think- the thrill and excitement of TTC has gone and I think I’m too tired to give any attention to getting too stressed about it. Although I’m very happy to beat myself round the head with it on a harder day.

I just wanted to say that I haven’t posted in ages as I’ve just been feeling a little numb with it all, but you each brighten my day and I’m so grateful for you all and for @VixFromThe6ix for starting this thread. You are an amazing bunch of ladies.

Thank you x

CurlyWurly1991 · 23/09/2023 21:05

@Bumblebee413 @SouthwestSis @VixFromThe6ix
I am right with you all there on the semi ambivalence about a second, at times. I have a 9-10yr old and honestly a new baby would be a complete upheaval in all areas of our lives. But!! The nagging feeling won’t go away. I do seem to have ups and downs about when I feel even a little relief if I haven’t conceived that cycle. Part of me also feels like I’m mentally preparing myself for the disappointment if it doesn’t happen. Yeah, 5 months in I am starting to feel the excitement wane and this is a big of a slog!

VixFromThe6ix · 23/09/2023 21:14

Glad others feel the same. Sometimes I feel guilty thinking this... but I really, really don't wanna be pregnant. I want a second baby but not this process. I've had anxiety for the last three days and I'm sure this is playing a major part in that. The mere fact that I gotta wait on that one chance a month to get IUI and it's all out of my control.
I think to myself that all my friends already had their second and if they can do it, then so can I. But truth of the matter is that my energy is not the same at 40 as it was in my 20s or even early-to-mid thirties.
Sorry, I don't wanna sound negative, it's already so freaking hard for everyone.
Thank you all for your ongoing support in this. ❤️ you are all so strong and so resilient, I wish only the best things for you

Hi lovelies,

New thread!!

Please tag whoever you can so everyone knows we are here.

Good evening
Can I join?
I'm 38 TTC
It is all I can think about
I'm so stressed that this month I haven't even ovulated
I'm using OPK - I don't get 'peak' and I'm also tracking BBT - I don't get a rise
I have visited the GP and they were fantastic, very positive, but did advise that getting older I will experience cycles where I don't ovulate
Can anyone read BBT charts?
Please help with mine! I don't understand where my coverline should be.
Thanks all.
And help! Please!
I'm going insane
It's a lonely road

@CharAStar welcome!!! It is totally true that you might not ovulate some cycles. I'm sorry you're feeling stressed and alone. I think most of us can relate. Sorry I am no help at reading bbt graphs, but hope someone else can chime in

@VixFromThe6ix
Thank you for your reply and making me feel welcome
I just need a safe space to vent
I'm trying acupuncture to calm my anxiety around it all!
I've got myself in debt signing up to all these fertility courses, using OPK's buying all these supplements
I'm giving it another year...

Foreverexhausted1 · 23/09/2023 22:03

Hi please can I join in? We're TTC no.3, sort of, not tracking or anything yet as in the past it's caused me a lot of stress and anxiety especially as it took almost 2 years to conceive first time. Anyway, my cycles are normally 28-31 days and now it's the end of day 33 and no signs of AF. I feel more exhausted than normal and have been queasy for the last couple of days. I'm scared to do a test in case it's negative!

VixFromThe6ix · 23/09/2023 22:03

@CharAStar you can vent here any time. It sounds like you have a plan. I heard acupuncture helped with TTC for some, so I hope it will be the case with you.
Other than a prenatal supplement and cheap easy@home opk and pregnancy tests, I don't buy anything else. I know some ladies here have been buying proceive which I heard was very expensive. What kind of courses, tests and supplements are you buying?

Welcome! I love your username because that's literally my state too haha
I think it my period was late, I'd definitely test. Especially if you're not getting any pre period symptoms. But that's me, I love POAS lol give it a day and if nothing, I'd test just to know either way.

@CharAStar looks like you did ovulate, 25/26th Aug ?

CurlyWurly1991 · 23/09/2023 22:09

@CharAStar oh hang on, it could have been a few days before. Not sure what that app is? Fertility friend is really good. Recommended, lots of guides and advice on there.

El1988 · 23/09/2023 23:48

Hi all, just catching up now! Honestly, I can’t say how much I appreciate this community - where we can talk about POAS addictions and yellow nipples 😅 and also on the days when it feels absolutely shit… ❤️

@VixFromThe6ix thank you for making the new thread! 🧡

@SouthwestSis chocolate instead of tester would have probably been smart, but I hit some more tests…

@H0pefull - due AF on Monday or Tuesday at the very latest…

my test from this morning was realistically negative, like I think I definitely imagined any line… but I was very nauseous today, and now I’m sitting on the sofa knitting and watching bad sisters and I’m kind of dizzy, while sitting down, which is something that happened the lady and only time I was pregnant, before the mmc… I don’t know, I’m very confused. Bbt still high as I said, so let’s see tomorrow? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

@MOGMOGMOG85 and @CurlyWurly1991 thank you for the positive thoughts ❤️

El1988 · 23/09/2023 23:54

Also @CurlyWurly1991 and @MOGMOGMOG85 hope you’re both feeling better soon 🧡

@CharAStar and @Foreverexhausted1 welcome! 🧡

I'll look into fertility friend, I've bought so many apps what's one more!

Im taking Seven Sea's Trying For A Baby - I've just bought and going to start Pregnacare Advanced, you take two a day with an Omega 3.
I didn't like Pregnacare before, but happy to try again...
I've paid for a BBT reading workshop (unhelpful) I've paid for a course on understanding ovulation etc, well it's no flippin' good if I'm not ovulating! I've also bought numerous apps
I'm out of my mind!

El1988 · 24/09/2023 09:20

So my temperature dipped a bit today, and my test was negative again this morning… so it seems this nausea and dizziness is just a new PMS symptom?? Fml, if that is the case…

El1988 · 24/09/2023 09:32

@CharAStar are these just your first cycles tracking bbt? It can take a while to get used to it and for things to settle? If you want to be sure you are ovulating could you do what they call a “day 21 progesterone blood test”? (But it shouldn’t necessarily be on day 21, it should be 7 days after you did/you think you ovulated - the day 21 thing is based off of you having a text book 28 day cycle, which most of us don’t) - I wonder would the hertility thing be any good? I wanted to look into it but they don’t do it in Germany where I live - sadly…

also it’s important to prioritise 7-8 hours sleep (if you can) in a dark environment - so they say….

Bex4567 · 24/09/2023 09:49

Jumping on this if that's OK.. sending baby dust to all of you.......

Trying for baby 3 with my new partner who had a 9 year old..I have a 16 year old and 12 year old but I'm 37 and worried I'm too old to get pregnat now..
I no im only on month 2 but getting my period last month was so disheartening..
I thjnk I ovulate later to what my flo app says due to change in mucus and my strips getting darker a few days later than what my app says...
Have done it every other day ,every day around my ovulation and used preeseed this month so fingers crossed .currently on 2dpo on ny 2ww ..for somwthjng that should be enjoyable it aint have a stress

EvelynKatie · 24/09/2023 10:02

Hi all! Good luck to us all on this new thread and hopefully some BFP’s soon.

@JustTrying1 sorry to hear AF came so early, that must feel disheartening.

Well I’m CD3 now. Going to use the clear blue advanced OPKs again this month as have plenty spare, and see if I ovulate about the same time again. I’ve got some cheapies I’ll move onto if I need to go again in another cycle.

I am tempted to try Hertility, and the money I've spent on products could've easily paid it it, to be honest I'm frightened of the results...I'll be heartbroken to see in black & white that I'm too old
The BBT, you're right, I've only been tracking for 5/6 weeks
