Thanks everyone for your replies, I have made a list to put forward to my GP tomorrow :)

I have regular B12 injections anyway as I am deficient in that, Vit D would be a good one to check also.

I am going to order the hertility test you have mentioned @worldwidetravel2017 , a few of my cousins have done this too and found it really useful. Will let you know how I get on!

Just heading into the TWW for me currently (AF Due next Thurs / Fri) hope everyone else is getting on ok?

Hope all is progressing well for you @VixFromThe6ix xx

Its def worth seeing your b12 number
Thats important for conception and pregnancy

My friend has the injections
But her number is still below 100

Before our early miscarriage - i had b12 issues - we got it up to 370 before the early miscarriage but recently before that b12 was just 147 etc. Then added more foods with b12 to get it to 200 - then with supplements too - 300 & something currently

Eggs a few times a week

Jacket potato / mash potato often

I bought b12 nutritional yeast to put on pasta too

@H0pefull I forgot about prolactin, that can also be included in the NHS tests. The ones I know are not routinely done in the NHS by GPs are anti- Mullerian hormone and DHEA.
However it looks like those will be covered by hertility. Anti-Mullerian tests would likely be done by the gynaecology team once you see them as it is a good marker of ovarian reserve.
Most GPs would undertake the tests I've already mentioned in my last post. However you mentioned your GP had referred you to gynaecology without bloods. If there is a GP with an interest in women's health at your practice, I would go to them. Although not always the case, it may be best to consult a female GP.

H0pefull · 17/10/2023 15:07

Thanks @Angelsrose , all really good to know. I felt as though he referred me to palm me off, he didn't seem too fussed about what I actually had to say it was a very quick over the phone appointment, I thought it may have been in person and a bit more detailed but it is what it is.

I now know there is a female GP at my practice that specialises in gynae and women's health, I will try and book in specifically with her when I call tomorrow, fingers crossed!

DH has suggested that if AF doesn’t come tomorrow/Thurs I should wait until Saturday to test again. He clearly has no idea how this TWW & POAS addiction works

You could do an early test like a numark one on thurs

happytobemrsg · 17/10/2023 16:42

I’m starting to cramp quite badly now @worldwidetravel2017 so I think AF is on her way 😢

:(
How long have you been trying for ?

happytobemrsg · 17/10/2023 17:01

@worldwidetravel2017 First cycle for DC#3 so I know I shouldn’t feel so disappointed so early in the process. Still rubbish 🥺

VixFromThe6ix · 17/10/2023 18:05

@SnookyPook I just wanna send you hugs. I know you got a lot on your mind right now. I'm crossing .t fingers that everything turns out fine for you. I hope you're able to get that second ncg test asap. Please keep us updated.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 hi!! Nice to hear from you! How are you doing?? How many months has it been already since your BFP?

My first ultrasound is in exactly a week. I just cant wait to get it over with. @Cressie2 @H0pefull I just wanna know am I in or am I out. Other than extreme bloating I'm not feeling much else. Maybe tiredness but this time of the year I'm also on half charge lol

Sounds like a few of you are on the TWW. Sending you all some good baby dust.

Aw thanks everyone for the well-wishes. So, I've heard a few stories from people who had similar looking tests at same gestation and all progressed fine so a little bit of hope has returned. No spotting or blood so far. GP is doing me a repeat HCG on Thursday and to my slight surprise, my Women's Health Unit at the local hospital have offered me a scan if I get to 6 weeks (next Tuesday)... So... We'll see how things go. I still barely dare to hope and yet, I can't help hoping. 🙃

Sorry to those of you who've had AF arrive - time for a fresh cycle. 💕 Good luck to those still waiting. Xx

VixFromThe6ix · 18/10/2023 00:09

@SnookyPook so glad to read you are staying hopefully. I am too. You're not out till you're out. Hope all goes well with your blood test and a scan next week!! We are all here for you no matter what

So glad you have found something to keep that hope there for you @SnookyPook ! I'll keep everything crossed for you and sending you hugs 🤞

AF has arrived this morning for me. Few days later than Premom planned but there isn't much in my Premom for it to forecast accurately at the minute. Not feeling disheartened because I counted this cycle out after not thinking about TTC at all. One thing it has got me wondering though is if the Conceive plus is messing up my cycles a bit because I've NEVER been earlier than 30 days previously.

happytobemrsg · 18/10/2023 11:02

@JustTrying1 I have read some posts on MN about pre-conception multi vitamins affecting cycles.

AF due to arrive today or tomorrow so I’m on AF watch. Trying not to dwell too much & focus on the fact that in 8/10 days time we can try again.

El1988 · 18/10/2023 13:04

Hello ladies, I’ve been taking a little time off as I’ve been tired and stressed and feeling unwell, unfortunately. Had a virus.

im counting myself out this month as it looks like I ovulated day 17 and we last managed to DTD on the 15th before I came down with the plague. Weirdly enough I am having the most sustained and stable luteal phase I’ve had in ages bbt-wise - not sure why that’s happening! Although maybe it’s a high temperature from my poor body fighting off this virus! But yeah between not managing to DTD on the ideal days and then being sick for the last week, I’d eat my hat if I was pregnant this month. Also don’t have the itchy fingers as much at all when it comes to POAS this month as I think I’m out 😅

Finally managed to book in with a dr for a second opinion on all things fertility, and have pushed that my DH gets the dna fragmentation in his sperm checked. The clinic were like 🤷🏻‍♀️ why on earth would we check that? It all looked fine from the outside 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ SIGH.

anyways, I will try to read and catch up now, but hope everyone is doing ok and sending big hugs to everyone 🩵

p.s. I saw someone had mentioned the day 21 progesterone test - that’s a tricky one, it shouldn’t always be on day 21 but rather a week after you ovulated. Also vitamin D is an important one to get tested as I’ve learned.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 18/10/2023 13:15

@VixFromThe6ix I'm six months next week. I've been popping back on here to see how everyone is going. I'm so happy to see some good news, and hoping for some good news very soon for everyone.

On the vitamin front, the GP told me you generally need higher iron and vit D than the normal ranges for it to be optimum for conception. She suggested a good conception multivitamin with a vitamin D spray on top. I thought the Zita West ones were really good. I found GP testing a minefield though, I didn't get much help

The iron thing agrivates me as if your feretin is 100 - they deem it as normal/ good

Ive started an iron oral spray - better you - into my cheek & under tongue

  • apparently goes straight into blood then

A month on floradix liquid didnt change my feretin number at all :(

Vit d is up to 90 atm
Actimel drink daily.
And 2000 iu supplement

Congrats on your pregnancy

Mrsspoon3 · 18/10/2023 19:24

Hey everyone, sorry I’ve not been on for a while, I’ve been feeling a bit down. After my chemical pregnancy last month I was so keen to try again but I haven’t ovulated this month. I was supposed to ovulate on the day I tested positive for covid, so I’m hoping it’s that that prevented it, but my bbt didn’t go up which was so disappointing as we actually managed to try a few times on what should have been the right dates, even though we both had covid and were feeling awful! I’m now on day 40 still with no period, so stuck in this never ending anovulatory cycle! 😩
Will read through and catch up this evening x

Pineappleapple · 18/10/2023 19:49

@Mrsspoon3 you did well to give it a go when you both had covid!
That sounds frustrating waiting for period.

Have now got a referral to fertlity from GP. So will see. For anyone wondering, we have a child already so I know we can't get ivf on nhs but you can still get a referral for tests and I think they may look at iui. Just want to know what is happening.

happytobemrsg · 18/10/2023 20:37

I caved

El1988 · 18/10/2023 20:42

@happytobemrsg omg!!!!! Congratulations!!!!! This is so exciting! How are you feeling?

it’s so lovely to see good news in the group! 🩵

Catson · 18/10/2023 20:57

Ahhh congratulations @happytobemrsg. Remind me how many dpo etc and your symptoms?

SnookyPook · 18/10/2023 20:58

@happytobemrsg 😍oh!! Lovely! Congratulations! Xx

@Mrsspoon3 oh so sorry that sounds really frustrating - I'm very impressed you managed to dtd whilst I'll with COVID!

@Pineappleapple I hope they'll be able to give you some answers. X

happytobemrsg · 18/10/2023 21:11

Thanks so much @El1988 !! I’m incredibly shocked. My symptoms convinced me I was pregnant but the BFN at (predicted) 12DPO floored me.

Thank you @Catson !! I’m 14DPO (predicted) though I suspect possibly 13DPO. I’ve had twinges & pains but mainly on my right side (I’m sure I felt implantation pain closer to my bellybutton with DS1). The biggest symptom which I couldn’t get out of my head were really blue veiny boobs which appeared 11DPO. I’ve only got that when I was pregnant before.

Thanks so much @SnookyPook !!

Cressie2 · 18/10/2023 21:30

@happytobemrsg 💕💕💕wonderful news!! So so happy for you! It’s always so lovely when BFPs are announced on here as gives us all hope.

@Mrsspoon3 @El1988 sorry to hear that. I can imagine that was really disappointing. I am in the same boat- I am meant to ovulate today or tomorrow and have been hit sideways with the flu/Covid )although still testing negative). Have a raging headache and feel totally whacked. We only DTD once and will try again tomorrow if I can muster the strength. Typical isn’t it!

@H0pefull any luck with the other GP?

@JustTrying1 I know you’re chilled about it but AF still sucks so sending you a huge hug and a glass of wine 🍷 🌟
