Anyone else 1dpo? Keep me company!

Hello! I'm 36 and TTC no. 2. This is cycle 6 but I only weaned from breastfeeding a couple of weeks ago so feeling cautiously optimistic as I think it was wreaking havoc with my hormones. Know it may well take a few months for hormones to regulate but remain hopeful!

Premom has me down as 1dpo. Anyone want to keep me company during what I suspect will be a painfully slow two weeks?! DTD 6 times in the last 8 days so i don't think I could've given it anymore if I'd tried - especially with a 2yo to look after! 😴

Hello! 👋 I think you were my cycle twin last cycle too? I'm 1DPO today as well. Well done on managing to BD as much as you did, we managed every day over the last 3 days so 🤞 with our timing. I have every intention not to symptom spot this month as I 90% convinced myself I was getting different symptoms last month haha. Hope you're keeping well!

secondtimelucky87 · 20/09/2023 19:19

Ooh hello yes I remember you! We really do seem to be in sync haha!

Totally know what you mean re the symptom spotting but it's so hard not to, isn't it?! When do you think you'll start testing?

We were meant to be doing SMEP this month but definitely don't have another 2 days of BD in me! I hope I've done enough 🤞

Hope you're well too and fingers crossed for both of us! 😊

Can I keep you guys company too. This is our first cycle TTC number 3.

I think I am 1DPO today but I still have some EWCM so might DTD again tonight just to make sure (my toddler was having a massive tantrum this morning which wasn’t very romantic for doing it then 😂)

secondtimelucky87 · 21/09/2023 08:48

Hello! Yes of course - the more, the merrier!

Oh I know alllll about the toddler tantrums! Fun, aren't they? 😂

Fingers crossed for you! 🤞

Can I hop on too? Need some company this 2ww… I think I’m 1dpo, and ovulated yesterday evening, but waiting for temperature rise to confirm. Had a super positive lh strip two days ago though, and cramps yesterday!

we sound similar @secondtimelucky87 , ttc #2, haven’t quite weaned our two year old but down to a quick feed before bed and on waking up.

had a chemical last month 😢 but feel that this month finally my body has done something sensible!! I had been ovulating cd10, and having really light periods (suspect low estrogen due to bf, but no proof) but this month with less bf, I think I o’d cd13 and had EWCM properly cd12!!

issue is, stress of ttc is getting to my oh, and he’s struggling to finish ‘inside’, so how many swimmers I got In me this month, I just don’t know 😭

etaketak1991 · 21/09/2023 17:06

@secondtimelucky87 I think I'll hold out as long as I can with testing. If I don't see a drop in BBT then maybe around 12DPO? I say this knowing I'll probably crack before then 😂

Yep the toddler tantrums are definitely interesting (baby 1 was conceived on a romantic holiday to a lovely Greek island after some nice wine and skinny dipping. Baby 3 looks set to be conceived with his older brother screaming over the baby monitor because he doesn’t want to be left in the playpen and with ‘Bluey’ playing in the background 😂).

I’d forgotten how hard I find the TWW. I also didn’t chart properly this month so I’m not certain when I ovulated so I’ll have a few days next week when I’m not sure if it’s too early to test or not.
When are you guys planning to test?

Definitely sounds like your body is getting back to normal. So sorry to hear about your chemical. Hopefully you'll get some good need this month. Wasn't an easy decision to wean my toddler but now that we've done it I feel really positive about it and that it was the right time. It took me over 2 years to get my periods back and they only returned after night weaning so I suspect I'm one of those women who just needed to fully wean to kick-start my fertility. My daughter has coped amazingly well too but we've gone realllllly slowly which I think helped.

Yeah it is a lot of pressure on our OH isn't it? We DTD 6 times in 8 days and I think my poor husband was worn out by the end of it. Wanted to throw everything at it though. Really hope you get your BFP soon ❤️

That sounds wise about waiting until 12dpo. First time around i didn't bother testing until I was days late for my period. I just didn't think it was possible as I'd been TTC for 3 years. But when it finally happened I think it was a combo of DTD 4 days in a row and both being much more relaxed cos we were working from home during Covid.

Haha, you've just got to do what you've got to do! Hard enough TTC with a toddler who's often not asleep until 830pm. I can't even imagine with two! Good old Bluey for the win though. Sometimes screen time is a lifesaver. I'm going to try to wait until 10dpo if I can...

secondtimelucky87 · 22/09/2023 08:37

Obviously super early days so not getting excited yet but this is the first month (since fully weaning from BF) I've had this coverline in my BBT chart. I'm not great at interpreting these things but I think this is looking good so far in terms of the sustained temp rise? I know it doesn't really mean anything until you have 18 high temps in a row but we'll see...

Anyone else 1dpo? Keep me company!

@secondtimelucky87 That's looking good to me! I normally start getting a drop around 10DPO if I'm out so I think that's what I'm looking for this month. Here's my chart for comparison!

Anyone else 1dpo? Keep me company!
secondtimelucky87 · 22/09/2023 10:23

Ahhhh I really really hope so! Does the little 'B' confirm ovulation too? So glad I've stuck with the BBT properly this cycle as it's actually pretty fascinating. Fingers crossed both our temps stay high! I read on a fertility account on Insta that it helps to keep the thermometer in your mouth for 10 mins before you switch it on so I've been doing that! 🤞🤞🤞

OP posts:
etaketak1991 · 22/09/2023 11:12

I think that's what the B is, yeah! I've invested in a proper ovulation thermometer this month and my temps have been a lot more even which is good.
Haha I normally take mine in the 2 minutes I have at 4am when my 3 year old wakes me up before she gets too shirty 😂 I guess keeping it in your mouth before will read a bit more accurately!

Hey can I join too please,
i think I'm around 1 dpo BUT not really sure as im still breastfeeding my 1 year old and really not sure if im ovulating or not. My period returned about 4 months ago and my cycles are regular again. We ttc last month but no joy.

im not going to test until my period is officially late so according to the app I use to track that's if I've not gotten it by 7th October. Going to be torture this tww. I symptom spotted like crazy last month and convinced myself I was pregnant so felt so disappointed when I got my period.

Now I'm thinking it's not going to happen because I'm still breastfeeding but I don't want to wean yet.

we are both 40 next year so don't have age on our side. This would be baby number 3 for me but 2 for hubby. I have an adult child from a previous relationship so we really want ti give our baby a similar age sibling to grow up with.

how do you stop obsessing over it for two weeks? I drove myself mad last month

Of course you can join!

Awwww I can totally understand your predicament. It absolutely broke my heart to wean a few weeks ago but I got to a point that the desire to have another baby outweighed that. But your little one is still so tiny in comparison. Mine is 2.5

I think if you're having regular cycles that's a really good sign! Are you tracking with OPKs and BBT? Could you give it a few more months and see how you feel re the breastfeeding? For what it's worth, now that I've stopped and had time to process it, I feel OK. My little one has just become even cuddlier. I think when you're ready to stop, you just know. But you absolutely don't need to if you can confirm ovulation is happening. There's a really useful FB group called TTC While Breastfeeding where you might find some helpful advice too.

Sending you lots of baby dust. ❤️

Re how to stop obsessing over it in the TWW, I've no idea! It's all I can think about 🙈

Thank you ☺️
im not using opks because I read they weren't reliable when breastfeeding so thought I'd save money. I'm just tracking my cycle using an app. I don't know how to track bbt I've only got a baby forehead digital thermometer would that not be accurate enough.

thank you for the Facebook recommendation I'll look into that.

did you have you cycle back before you weaned? It's funny how for some breastfeeding doesn't seem to affect getting pregnant and others it does. Hormones are so complex.

I bought the Easy @ Home BBT thermometer on Amazon. It's cheap and cheerful but works well. In terms of the OPKs, I still think they're worth using! Easy @ Home do v cheap big boxes of them. Then I use the Premom app to take photos of them and upload them. This month, I got my LH peak on CD14 and then my BBT seems to have confirmed I did indeed ovulate within 24 hours of that so it's given me some peace of mind. Obviously ovulating successfully is only part of the puzzle but I found it useful having that info. It may well be that I've ovulated successfully this month because of fully weaning but hard to know.

As this is cycle 6 for me and because of my age, I'll be contacting the GP for some basic tests if this isn't my month anyway. Including sperm analysis for hubby. So if not this month, hopefully will get some answers soon to check why we're not there yet. I will say we DTD much more than previous cycles this time (no mean feat when it's absolutely the last thing you've got the energy for 😂) but only time will tell if it was all successful!

P.S. in terms of BBT you just start taking it at the same time every morning. So around 6am for me when work alarm goes off. No talking, moving too much or drinking lots of water beforehand. I keep the thermometer in my mouth for a while before I actually take my temp. Then you upload it onto an app and it should confirm you actually ovulated. Lots of useful info on the Premom website. Good luck! 😊

That looks good and very similar to mine the two times I have conceived (although I don’t normally notice a difference until at least 8-12dpo anyway, by which time an early pregnancy test would probably tell me anyway!)

I’d like to say that I’d be patient and wait until AF is due or 14dpo but I’ve had positive results at 10 days for both my other children so I know I’ll probably crack and test next weekend!

I have no idea how not to obsess over it. I have everytime that I’ve TTCed. I’m impressed by your will power holding off until the 7th, I’ll feel like a saint if I make it to the 1st!

I conceived my second whilst still breastfeeding/pumping so it definitely happens.
This time round I had an internal scan at 6 weeks postpartum (I had a c-section and they wanted to check how it was healing) whilst exclusively breastfeeding plus additional pumping and she could see I was ovulating. My period came back two weeks later. I’m very jealous of people who had a bit of a break!
