Anyone else 1dpo? Keep me company!

Hello! I'm 36 and TTC no. 2. This is cycle 6 but I only weaned from breastfeeding a couple of weeks ago so feeling cautiously optimistic as I think it was wreaking havoc with my hormones. Know it may well take a few months for hormones to regulate but remain hopeful!

Premom has me down as 1dpo. Anyone want to keep me company during what I suspect will be a painfully slow two weeks?! DTD 6 times in the last 8 days so i don't think I could've given it anymore if I'd tried - especially with a 2yo to look after! 😴

@secondtimelucky87 I'm going to hold out until at least Friday. I've got a feeling this isn't my month so even though I've got a bunch of IC, don't want to go wasting them.

Temp has dipped a little today by 0.1 of a degree but still high above cover line. I guess I'll see what the next few days bring! CM is pretty dry and I know that was the only symptom I had with my first. Still early days though. Hope everyone else is doing well!

secondtimelucky87 · 27/09/2023 07:13

Morning ladies. Of course I ended up testing this morning and of course it was negative at 8dpo! 🙈 Just couldn't resist. Still mildly crampy, very bloated and also had a slight temp dip, though also above coverline.

I mostly wonder where on earth I'll find the energy to DTD next cycle as much as we did for this one if this isn't the month. No mean feat with a 2.5 yo 🫠😴🤣

@etaketak1991 Do you mean you had more CM first time around or that it had dried up? I can't remember what mine was like! My symptoms aside from late period were that I was absolutely BOILING hot and had sore boobs.

@secondtimelucky87 Aw sorry about your BFN. Plenty of time before the end of cycle though! Think I saw someone post statistics that implantation occurs most commonly at 8/9dpo. It always seems loads of people get BFPs at 7/8dpo but I guess generally this isn't the case.

I kept a pregnancy diary and it says the only symptom was an increase in CM 😂 Although nowadays, tmi, generally have more CM than I did before I was pregnant. So who knows! As per usual. Feeling nauseous today too, but also did at the same point last cycle 🙃

@secondtimelucky87 sure I cracked this morn at 7dpo and tested and of course negative 😂 knew I would though as I'm back in for the 21 day progesterone test today and other bloods.
If she tests my hcg today would it pick up pregnancy this early?!

I think they could possibly pick up HCG (depending on when implantation happened, if it’s even happened yet. It can happen any time between 6dpo-12dpo).

Blood tests can pick up HCG 1-3 days before a home pregnancy test (I think it depends on the type of test and how quickly your HCG rises). You’d probably get a positive pregnancy test before the blood results are back!

Good luck with the blood tests today.

Monkeymonkeymoo · 27/09/2023 08:21

Also, I really wouldn’t worry about your negative test. It’s really rare to get a positive at 7 or 8dpo (I think in a lot of cases the very early positive results are just someone who ovulated a couple of days earlier than they thought).
With both my children I got a negative at 9dpo and then a clear positive at 10dpo, but it’s also not unusual to test negative up until 13-14dpo (this site is really interesting for looking at when people get a positive broken down by test brand: https://www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/brand-chart.php?brandid=31)

@Monkeymonkeymoo Ahh I was trying to find that website the other day! Thanks ❤️

Bey · 27/09/2023 11:22

Awww sorry you guys have had BFNs although I agree with op's that you're not out yet this month I would think day 9/10 po is probably more likely to pick up a pregnancy.

still keeping my fingers crossed for you both and the rest of us.

I don't feel pregnant at all but then why would I 🤣 it's far too early. My symptoms with my last pregnancy were night sweats a couple of days before my period was due (I genuinely thought I was peri menopausal) but my periods are a bit funny at the minute with breastfeeding so an official late period for me isn't until the 7th October so I'm going to try my hardest to hold out for that.

I know what you mean about finding the energy for dtd with a little one. Mine still doesn't sleep through the night or sleep very independently so we have to be creative and I just don't know if I can be bothered with that if we're negative this month.

etaketak1991 · 27/09/2023 13:06

@Monkeymonkeymoo Haha oh god!! Thanks goodness for modern science.

@Bey Night sweats are an interesting symptom! I guess related to BBT increase!

Aw man, I was doing so well not symptom spotting 😂 I've been having some sharp cramps left of where I assume my uterus is all morning and my brain is working overtime. Second week of TWW is always the craziest 🙃

Ooh will have a look at this website thank you! Looks interesting. Yeah you're absolutely right. It was silly of me to test so early tbh 🙈

My 2.5 yo only started sleeping through the night when we nightweaned at 25 months but she still doesn't feel comfortable sleeping alone. It's just her temperament I guess. So there's a big double floor bed in her room and when I'm ready to conk out for the night I just join her! Definitely not for everyone but with her being such a sensitive little thing and the alarm going off stupidly early every morning I CBA with getting out of another bed to join her! Since starting nursery a few months ago, she's started wriggling around in her sleep and waking briefly but just reaches out for a cuddle then back down.

Definitely can't really be bothered with all the BD again next cycle but I think somehow we'll find the energy from somewhere if we need to! Definitely sucks all the fun out of it all though!

I'm considering going for a floor bed in the babies room, he has a cot in our room that remains empty because he sleeps in my bed and hubbys in the spare room 🤦🏻‍♀️

do you mind me asking if you have a link to your floor bed? I find them all so confusing. Do you get her to sleep then are you able to leave her? At the moment I have to go to bed when the baby does as I can't really leave him on our bed incase he falls off.

I know what you mean it definitely sucks the fun out of it

Daniki · 27/09/2023 15:41

@Bey we had a giant playpen for our son and he would never settle in the cot so i put the cot mattress in the playpen with some toys and that really helped! There was a bed in the room too so we used to take it in turns sleeping in there until he was able to sleep on his own 😀

I can't remember which one it is - so sorry! Just a cheap wooden one. My husband sawed the legs right down so that if she were to fall out she wouldn't get hurt. She never took to the cot either and it was a glorified laundry basket haha! So we set the floor bed up in her room at 8 months. I'd breastfed her to sleep, wait until she was asleep then roll away and just have monitor on. Now we don't breastfeed anymore but I just rub her back, sing her a song and she goes off to sleep. Have my evening with my hubby and them join her later on. Or sometimes he sleeps in with her instead. Has been a god-send for us with her never sleeping in a cot so I highly recommend!

No worries, I've only really seen them on Etsy and they looked quite pricey. I need to look into it again.

Daniki · 27/09/2023 16:44

@Bey @secondtimelucky87 yes it was very handy! 😁 he's in his own bed now in the house we're in so we've a stair gate on the door so he can't wander out if he wakes early 😂

Monkeymonkeymoo · 28/09/2023 05:20

We’re also looking at floor beds- my youngest is 17 months so still in his cot but I want to move all the bedrooms around and evict him from the nursery at least a few months before the next baby comes (I don’t really want him to have too many changes all at once or feel like the baby ‘stole’ his cot!)

I cracked and tested this morning. Absolutely nothing (unsurprisingly)

Awww I'm sorry to hear that. How many dpo are you? I'm 9 today. Didn't bother testing again today after yesterday but I'm bloated and irritable as hell so will be amazed if AF not here like clockwork this weekend!

Definitely recommend a floor bed!

@Monkeymonkeymoo Aw sorry about your BFN. Fingers crossed for the next few days!

My temp has bumped back up again so looking good! I think I'll test tomorrow if it goes up one more time. I've been having sharp cramps for two days, I think I had them last month but not for such an extended period. Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞

Anyone else 1dpo? Keep me company!
Monkeymonkeymoo · 28/09/2023 07:09

I’m only 8dpo so it really was too early (I was negative until at least 10dpo with both my other children so no idea why I thought this would be any different). I’m just very impatient!

Everything crossed for you! Chart looks very promising! 🤞🤞🤞

Still above coverline here but evening out so not feeling too hopeful. My LO was basically draped over me all night too so who knows how accurate this is??! 🤣

That’s a lovely looking graph. Fingers crossed for your BFP tomorrow!
I’m going to try and hold out until Saturday but I know that I’ll end up testing again tomorrow

Bey · 28/09/2023 08:47

@Monkeymonkeymoo so sorry about your bfn, I'll keep everything crossed for you testing again.

it's such a rollercoaster.

I had cramping in my lower back and stomach about 4am, I don't think it really means anything though. I'm still only about 8 dpo I think so I'm desperately trying to hold off testing
