Anyone else 1dpo? Keep me company!

Hello! I'm 36 and TTC no. 2. This is cycle 6 but I only weaned from breastfeeding a couple of weeks ago so feeling cautiously optimistic as I think it was wreaking havoc with my hormones. Know it may well take a few months for hormones to regulate but remain hopeful!

Premom has me down as 1dpo. Anyone want to keep me company during what I suspect will be a painfully slow two weeks?! DTD 6 times in the last 8 days so i don't think I could've given it anymore if I'd tried - especially with a 2yo to look after! 😴

Finger tightly crossed for you (and everyone else). Hopefully we get plenty of nice BFPs on this thread within the next couple of weeks 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Thank you! For you too! I've got a feeling there will be some lovely news on this thread soon. ☺️

I have no idea how not to obsess over it. I have everytime that I’ve TTCed. I’m impressed by your will power holding off until the 7th, I’ll feel like a saint if I make it to the 1st!

I conceived my second whilst still breastfeeding/pumping so it definitely happens.
This time round I had an internal scan at 6 weeks postpartum (I had a c-section and they wanted to check how it was healing) whilst exclusively breastfeeding plus additional pumping and she could see I was ovulating. My period came back two weeks later. I’m very jealous of people who had a bit of a break!

Haha the reason I'm wanting to wait is because last time I tested got a negative and still convinced my self it wasn't over until I got my period so I think for me I'm just better off waiting until I'm offficilay late. Although I bet if people start posting BFPs on here I'll be VERY tempted 🤣🤣 wishing you all so much luck 🤞

that's good to know about ovulation and breastfeeding thank you. I think because we conceived this baby sooooo easy just a one off we weren't tracking or anything I thought it'd happen quick again, but now I'm thinking will it not happen until I wean. Who knows. Wish there was a way to put it out of my head for the next two weeks!!

MountainFi · 22/09/2023 14:39

my DD is also 2.5! I got my cycle back at 22 months after consciously eating a LOT more! So i know I’m very affected by bf, and may also need to wean completely 😞

I also say every month I’ll wait until12dpo to test… and invariably cave around 8-10dpo 🤪

some good looking charts @secondtimelucky87 and @etaketak1991 ! Here’s mine too - I use an Apple Watch, so it can be a bit spikey… but I can’t temp properly as by morning my toddler is usually in my bed asleep on my arm!! I feel like I ovulated late on the 20th, though I’m expecting crosshairs on 21st due to no temp rise then. But bbt can rise late… and cm and cramping suggests 20th 🤷‍♀️

Anyone else had a big increase in CM today (3dpo)? I know it's way too early for it to be pregnancy related but still feels like a good sign...maybe?!!

Hi all,

hoping its ok to jump in 😊

TTC #1 and we’re on cycle 3. Got my surge yesterday so today is ovulation day and officially starting another TWW. Also use premom for BBT and opks and temping has been very accurate so this time around I don’t want to test unless temps stay high on AF day. Its very disheartening to see neg tests all the time.

been obsessing over TTC last two cycles but this month feel more chill and relaxed so fingers crossed for this one!

TWW and 2 weeks annual leave will be fun 😂

sending baby dust to all ✨

secondtimelucky87 · 23/09/2023 07:45

I've had a bit of a drop in bbt today. Still above the coverline and over 36.4 though so hopefully not a bad sign. Mega nauseous too but it's only 4dpo so probably unrelated.

How's everyone else? Think I'll probably end up caving and testing at 8dpo 🙈

Lots of things can make your BBT drop, I wouldn't be too worried this early on! 4DPO may be very early.implantation too 🤞 My temp is still climbing, no symptoms yet!

Thank you! I did take it about half an hour before I usually do as I woke up desperate for a wee so needed to take it before I moved around 🤣 Not sure if that makes any difference!

Your chart looks very promising so far!

Hello! Welcome! 😊

Yeah I've been loving doing bbt properly this time. Reassuring to have ovulation confirmed too.

Hope you've got lots of lovely things planned for your TWW and annual leave!

I haven’t but then I didn’t in either of my previous pregnancies so I’m not too worried (I kept a very detailed chart/diary which is actually really reassuring to look back on and really helps prevent the symptom spotting- I had absolutely no symptoms until 5 weeks and then had horrendous hyperemesis so I know that I’m pretty sensitive to HCG).
Hopefully it’s a good sign for you though, we’re all completely different (I have my fingers crossed for different/fewer pregnancy symptoms this time round!)

I’m not temping this cycle because we were away until 3 days before ovulation so I wasn’t sure I’d get accurate results due to time zone changes and jet lag (and didn’t want to take a fertility monitor and thermometer with me!).
I’m still pretty sure I caught my fertile days though (I’ve always found monitoring cervical secretions the most reliable method for me and it matched with the OPKs).
There will be much more monitoring and more consistent supplement taking next month if I don’t get pregnant this cycle (I’m not someone who likes to leave things to chance and I love some data!)
I wouldn’t worry about a slight drop in BBT at this point. It’s still too early to mean anything and can be caused by loads of things (it’s a fraction of a degree). There will always be some natural variability so unless it falls below the cover line after about 10dpo I don’t think I’d be too concerned (looking back I had way more variability than that post ovulation during my last pregnancy).

I’m really struggling to focus on other things whilst I’m waiting to find out if I’m pregnant. It feels so weird that something so massive and life changing could be happening in my body right at this moment and I don’t even know about it!

Have you got nice plans for your annual leave?
I’m also off next week and I’m struggling to find things that will distract me until I can test next weekend. It’s hard not to be obsessive when you’ve got loads of time to think about it!

Sending loads of baby dust. Hopefully this will be a lucky cycle for us all!

CatiaR · 23/09/2023 11:24

@secondtimelucky87 @Monkeymonkeymoo not going away but taking day trips, likely parks and trails bringing the pup along but mainly resting and not thinking about work! Its been manic busy and haven’t had time off since our wedding in July and that wasn’t super relaxing with bringing family around to sightsee from abroad 😆

I know the feeling but really trying to take a chill approach as much as I can since it doesn’t do me any good and its more disappointing but easier said than done 😂

hopefully its a lucky month 🍀

Thanks so much. Yeah I think you're right re the temps, as long as they stay above the coverline. I do wonder if I should just stop temping now to avoid driving myself crazy??? But it's also really fascinating to track it and might be useful for future cycles if this isn't my month.

I know exactly how you feel. It's all I can bloody think about and it's mad knowing things could well be happening right now!

I'm so sorry you had Hyperemesis. It sounds so tough. I've had Labyrinthitis on and off (it comes on in episodes) for the last 6 weeks and that causes vertigo/sickness. I've definitely worried about getting another episode should I fall pregnant but I'm hoping I'll be fully over it by then!

Morning all! Is anyone keeping an eye on their resting heart rate? I normally see 3-4bpm increase after ovulation, but mine has increased by 7bpm this month. It usually starts to drop today, so I'll be keeping an eye out.
I checked what it was like during my last pregnancy and there was almost no change in resting heart rate the whole nine months, so I may just be finding a new way to work myself up 😂 BBT is evening out but still increasing so at least there's that! Hope everyone else is doing well x

CatiaR · 24/09/2023 07:01

Morning! That’s interesting, I don’t check my heart rate so not sure but hopefully positive for you!

my bbt had a slight dip today after ovulation but not going to worry so much yet as I didn’t have a long stretch of sleep before temping ( kept waking up all night no idea why) so hopefully ovulation did happen but I guess we will see 😊

officially 1dpo today and going to see it I can convince DH to BD one more time tonight as this morning he said he was still tired (to be fair he’s on call in work so had to work 7 days but today is the last day)

Oh I've never heard of that! That's really interesting. Definitely sounds like it's worth keeping an eye on! My BBT has gone back up again which is something! 5dpo and it feels like time is standing still 🤣

I’m not watching it particularly carefully this month but I do have a diary from my last pregnancy and had a 4-5 bpm rise after ovulation that lasted until I got my positive test at 10dpo (and stayed higher than normal for my whole pregnancy). Hopefully it’s a positive sign for you.

I’ve come down with a horrible cold over the weekend and I’m so miserable (I’m trying to avoid taking anything other than paracetamol just in case). I’m actually quite relieved I’m not temping this month because they’d definitely be out due to illness.
I’m also nauseous, exhausted and hot but I have to keep reminding myself that at 4-5dpo implantation hasn’t actually happened yet and so there’s no HCG and no chance that these are pregnancy symptoms, I just have a horrible virus. This week is really dragging. I’m desperate just to know!

Monkeymonkeymoo · 24/09/2023 18:41

Also, has anyone decided what tests they’re going to use (especially if you test early)?
I loved FRER in my previous pregnancies and really trusted them, but I’ve heard they’ve been really bad for false positives recently and they’re impossible to get.

CatiaR · 24/09/2023 18:49

@Monkeymonkeymoo I got some boots early detection, heard they were good. I also got some ICs (one step and easy@home) but not planning on testing unless AF doesn’t show this time.

clearblues are terrible and FRERs are also very hard to get these days.

I've got about 6 Easy @ Home tests. I think I'm going to be good and not buy any other tests as those seem to be quite sensitive from what I've read. But ask me again in a few days... 🤣

Can't BELIEVE it's only 5dpo. Grateful for work tomorrow so that I'll barely have a chance to pee, let alone obsess about being pregnant or not 🙈

Hey ladies just checking in, our littlest is poorly at the moment so it's been a stressful couple of days. I must admit there's been a couple of moments where I've thought what are we doing trying for another when we have zero family support and little ones VERY attached to me.

i just know if we don't try I'll regret it.

im trying soooo hard not to obsess/symptom spot. Really hoping I can hold out for my period being late before testing.

Those of you trying for a 2nd or 3rd child do you ever get wobbles like I have? I'm sure it's one of them that you just cope and get on with things once they're here.

SouthwestSis · 24/09/2023 22:33

Hi @Bey ,

I'm in cycle 2 of TTC baby #2, D4PO today but low hopes as we only managed to BD twice in my fertile window this month, and yes I was having major 2nd thoughts when my 20m/old had a major meltdown in the supermarket this week. Honestly it was mortifying, he was screaming like a banshee and I still have no idea why!
Of course he's been good as gold for his dad this weekend whilst I've been at work...

We’re in a similar situation, poorly toddlers (and me) and family live too far away to offer much support.
I’ve definitely had a few wobbles and questioned whether this is the right thing over the last few weeks (especially last night when my 16 month old woke up every hour).
I felt the same between number 1 and 2 though. It was definitely the right thing for our family and I can’t imagine him not being here (mostly because he is never quiet so I don’t get the chance!)
This will definitely be our last though (hubby will get a vasectomy and I’ll get the coil after he’s born). And if it doesn’t happen then we’ll happily settle at two rather than pursuing fertility treatment etc.
