Hi everyone
I think our previous thread is full? I can't find a new one anyone has started but sorry if I've missed it. I'll tag some of us below but please add anyone I've missed

Oh @SarahShorty I’m so sorry to hear that and sending you lots of love ❤️ I really hope your dreams come true next year and you and DH are looking after eachother.

Welshgal85 · 10/12/2023 12:34

@krissy12 gosh 26 weeks! That’s gone by fast!

Yeah I’m feeling really tired most days and me and DP are feeling a bit overwhelmed thinking this may actually happen! I’m constantly checking for bleeding and worried something will go wrong but just trying to push that out of my mind

krissy12 · 10/12/2023 13:47

@Welshgal85 I'm still like that and always checking to I don't think that gets any easier unfortunately
I got progesterone this pregnancy when I started bleeding at the beginning which I believe definitely helped as it stopped the spotting so keep that in mind if you do get anything but fingers crossed you don't

Houseelf90 · 10/12/2023 17:16

@SarahShorty im so sorry 💔 life can be so cruel. Fingers crossed 2024 is better for you 🥺

Welshgal85 · 11/12/2023 11:11

Thanks @krissy12 I have had a slight cramping feeling over the weekend so trying not to worry too much about that.

I’m still having constant nausea 🤢 nothing seems to be helping. Does anyone have any tips or do I just have to wait for it to pass?

krissy12 · 11/12/2023 13:41

@Welshgal85 cramping can be totally normal I had it loads in the 1st trimester and the same with my ds can just be everything moving and stretching
I was lucky and didn't have much nausea but a friend of mine recommended ginger biscuits

HeathenPlayingHouse · 12/12/2023 17:29

@SarahShorty I'm so sorry, I hope that 2024 is kinder to you ❤️

I had my follow up scan today and was relieved to be told that there was no sign of anything left. I haven't had any bleeding so they couldn't explain it, but it's possible it was reabsorbed?

Anyway, I've got to test to make sure it's out of my system, and then we can get back to TTC. I'm gutted that it didn't work out, but I'm glad that I can now concentrate on Christmas for DS without worrying about it.

LucyLoopyLu · 12/12/2023 18:03

Hi all, sorry for the radio silence just been focusing on positive thinking (not a pity party) as the reality of potential IVF has started to penetrate the grey matter.

No update here. Still not entirely without hope for the next couple of cycles after the hyfosy. In fertile window now so just getting on with it.

Excited for Christmas and New Year! I have a week and a half off so very much looking forward to that

LucyLoopyLu · 12/12/2023 18:06

@Welshgal85 hope you're doing ok and the nausea will ease up for you soon

@HeathenPlayingHouse that's great news (within the context of bad news), so glad you don't need any interventions and just look forward to Christmas now. Hope you're feeling OK, make sure to take time for yourself as well ❤️‍🩹

@SarahShorty I'm so sorry you've had another loss. It is so unfair. Me and my OH are similar ages (I'm 35, he's a bit older at 37) and it is a worry. Just wanted to send you lots of good wishes and hope you're taking it easy and looking after yourself x

Welshgal85 · 13/12/2023 09:09

Thanks @LucyLoopyLu its wiping me out at the moment but hope it’s all a good sign that things are going to plan!

@krissy12 the cramping has stopped now so hopefully all okay. Yeah ginger biscuits help a bit, trying not to eat them constantly!

LucyLoopyLu · 19/12/2023 19:08

Hi all
We just got our appointment confirmation from the fertility clinic this morning. 10th Jan so not too long to wait.
It's a really inconvenient day (because of work) but I'm just going to make it happen.
I feel quite stressed now, having to sort out the day, and wish I'd had the letter in the new year. I know that's a bit selfish.

A bit of a low day. Two people have announced pregnancies to my husband today. On the same day we got the letter and all the info it's just a bit gutting.

OP posts:
DesertSnow · 21/12/2023 20:42

@LucyLoopyLu I'm glad you don't have too long to wait. Is that for an initial consultation?

Hope you're feeling a bit better and can enjoy some of the festive season. I know it's a hard time of year when you're ttc.

LucyLoopyLu · 21/12/2023 21:29

@DesertSnow hey, how are you?

Yes it's for an initial doctor's consultation. Then you presumably have a bit of a wait, then a nurse appointment, then you can start. That's what the paperwork seems to say. I think there will be time needed for funding to be approved etc. as well as waiting for your slot. Not sure how long that will all take and I think it varies from clinic to clinic so I'm not getting too hung up on any particular date. Will keep trying in the meantime.

Hope everyone is looking forward to a lovely Christmas 🎄

OP posts:
DesertSnow · 27/12/2023 20:28

@LucyLoopyLu I hope that you don't have too long to wait. Good to get things rolling anyway! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞 Hope you're managing to relax a bit over Christmas.

I'm ok thanks, things are more stable now and Luna is growing well. She's now 75th centile! It's been nice having my husband off work for the week to help out with her, think January is going to be a shock to the system.

LucyLoopyLu · 27/12/2023 21:34

@DesertSnow Thanks lovely. I had started to hope maybe we wouldn't need IVF after the hyfosy but I think I can feel AF coming now 😭. But still more chances before then I'm sure. Maybe it's for the best as we're away for Christmas and NY and I haven't brought any tests anyway.

Glad to hear you're doing well. I love the name Luna. 75th centile! January is always a shock to the system but that does sound hard! Hope it's not too much of a shock for you. I always think it's such a shame there's not longer paternity leave in the UK; it's ridiculous at the moment

OP posts:
DesertSnow · 28/12/2023 20:35

@LucyLoopyLu You never know, it might happen before you start IVF, but in the end all that matters is that you get to hold your baby in your arms, whatever journey you took to get there. After all you've been through it will just be magical when you get to meet them.

She was born 3rd centile and wasn't doing so well inside me but now she's out she's shot up through the centiles! I'm determined to get on a health kick in January so that's also going to be a bit of a shock, having let myself indulge a bit for the last month 😆

LucyLoopyLu · 28/12/2023 22:20

@DesertSnow that's so lovely to hear she's growing and doing so well. What a little fighter. I know what you mean about the health kick, I need to be on form in the new year but have a few more days of relaxing ahead.

CD1 today as expected. To be honest I'm definitely not thinking it's a sure thing I will be able to have a baby at all. Obviously will keep trying but I know it's potentially a long road ahead and doesn't work for everyone

OP posts:
DesertSnow · 30/12/2023 00:45

@LucyLoopyLu Really keeping everything crossed for you. You're always so kind on this thread and I really really hope it happens for you - and sooner rather than later. You deserve it! I'm sorry about AF. But new year, new cycle! Definitely enjoy the next couple of days if you're also going on a health kick in January.

krissy12 · 30/12/2023 07:13

I've not been getting notifications for some reason

@DesertSnow glad to hear Luna is growing well it can be so stressful

@LucyLoopyLu sorry to hear AF has arrived I'm hoping you get some answers soon at your appointment and that you don't need to wait too long to start whatever process they recommend @

Houseelf90 · 31/12/2023 23:19

Happy New Year lovely ladies!
Wishing all the luck in the world to those of you waiting for your BFP’s, I hope 2024 is the year your dreams come true.

You ladies got me through the end of 2022 before we got our 3rd BFP in mid January, the pregnancy that resulted in meeting our baby boy, and spending Christmas and NYE with him seems a lifetime away from where we were this time last year having just suffered our second loss, so thank you ladies for getting me through those times, you inspired me to continue trying and not give up on our dreams!

LucyLoopyLu · 05/01/2024 11:26

@DesertSnow @krissy12
Thanks both for your lovely messages. I was a bit upset but moving onwards and upwards. First appointment next week and feeling very nervous. Filling in a load of the paperwork made it feel very real.

@Houseelf90 happy new year to you too, so happy everything worked out for you and your lovely little boy. Hope you had the best time this year x

@LucyLoopyLu hey lovely, how did your appointment go today? Thinking of you x

LucyLoopyLu · 10/01/2024 19:21

@DesertSnow hi, thanks so much for asking and remembering.

It all went well (except for the journey). Unfortunately we have to travel quite a long way which made it... Interesting! We were worried we would be late because of a road closure but got there just in time in the end.

The consultant we saw was absolutely lovely and the nurses we spoke to were great too. We were there hours in the end as we got our blood done for HIV tests etc and there was a long wait.

Outcome is we have a nurse's appointment on 29th Feb and should start our first round when I get my period 3rd week of March. They have set all my drug protocol etc already which is a bit nerve wracking. The timings are all ideal tbh (we're going on holiday in Feb) so that's great but I'm feeling very nervous about it all. At least there's a few weeks to get my head around it. Also want to have a good few healthy weeks so hopefully won't catch any more colds.

Hope you're doing well x

@LucyLoopyLu glad your appointment went well. can imagine it must be very overwhelming taking it all in and thinking about what's to come but it'll all be worth it in the end
