Ladies - you may now continue the chatting

Oh, what a poorly bunch you are. Hoping thingsv get better very soon for you all.

As I was out today I took my OV stick and attempted to wee on it in M&S's toilet. Well, wee sprayed everywhere apart from the stick so the test was invalid. Going to have to stick to dipping it into a jug.

Not much else to report.

Hi everyone,

OMG, just got the best news - school is closed tomorrow!! The heating and electricity have gone off and they can't get it back on before Fri! So now have an unexpected day off and don't quite know what to do with it! Should I be good and get through my mountain of work, or should I have a leisurely day - lie in/gym/daytime TV? I know which one sounds more appealing, but I'll feel so proud of myself to get on top of all my work, plus that might free up my weekend - no work to take home! Decisions decisions!!

On the pg front, what do you think ladies? Have had slight pain in my side today off and on. Nothing terrible. Is it a) my over-active imagination inventing pg symptoms? b) a sign I have eaten too much today (which I have!) or could it be c) a real symptom? CD25 today.

ceebee74 · 05/03/2008 20:03

MJIM ? how are you feeling tonight? Better I hope.

Carolyn ? of course it is ok to BD wherever ? you can?t miss any opportunity and she will never know

Willmouse ? how were the kittens? Were they very very cute?

Bellie ? fantastic about the weight loss ? you must feel great.

Kim ? don?t worry about sit-ups or exercise while TTC. I am a complete exercise freak (not that you would know it to look at me as I am 3 stone overweight ) and was regularly doing a spinning class followed by an hour of really high-impact aerobics (including really tough sit-ups) when I conceived DS and I am still exercising as much as I can now (although I don?t have the time to do what I did pre-children ). I also exercised (step classes, treadmill, bike etc) till I was about 7.5 months pg last time and I intend to do the same this time round if I can. You only need to stop sit-ups when you are about 12 weeks pg as it can cause your tummy muscles to split (sorry to go on but it is a fave topic of mine ).

Belgian ? the 2WW is bloody torturous isn?t it? I am analysing every twinge constantly at the mo. I didn?t really have this with DS as he was conceived on my 3rd cycle and I had no idea what was going on then.

Not much to report here ? no symptoms here . Just checking in before I go for my ?Sawyerfest- Lost viewing

Ooh some good news today - I 'found' 12 hours holiday allowance at work that I didn't realise I had and it has to be used by the end of March otherwise I lose it so I have had to book a day off - it feels quite good to just have a day off just because rather than for a purpose iyswim. I am already off all next week using up my holiday, and then I have got 2 very short weeks because of Easter etc. It's funny how the small things make us happy isn't it?

Juanitad - lol as our posts are quite similar about having the day off work .

Bellie · 05/03/2008 21:27

Wow - lucky you having unexpected days off!! I would use them just for me !! Although I do see what you are saying Juanitad about if you do your work tomorrow you will get the weekend off! Decisions decisions.

Hope no-one was waiting to use the loo after you HC You'll just have to carry a 'pot' and a leakproof bag!!

Well done for holding off BB - still keeping my fingers crossed for you and Juanitad. The 2ww is torture isn't it? Hold out for as long as possible.

Willmouse - are you the proud owner of a kitten??? I bet they were dead cute.

Hope those that are ill are feeling slightly better now.

Thanks for all the weightloss support. I really am trying and following Weightwatchers. Used to go to the classes pre dd but am just following the books at home this time. I think I am finding it easier as I am at home rather than at work so can avoid the biscuits and the birthday cakes, and am also doing a lot more cooking than I used to so I know what has gone into it! Only another 12lbs to go!

kim27 · 05/03/2008 21:28

thanks ceebee, guess I have no excuses left will have to start the new year exercise regime

majormoo · 05/03/2008 22:02

Juanitad I would have to use the day just to relax as it is so lovely to get an unexpected day off (although see your point about the weekend.)

Ceebee enjoy yours day off when it comes too. And tonight enjoy the gorgeousness that is Sawyer!

You are doing really well Bellie.

Mrs Icarus DD has been lovely today so yes not all days are total chaos. This evening we were cobbling together an 'Alice in Wonderland' outfit as it is book week at school, so on Friday they all have to go in as a hero/heroine/villain from a book. She thought she was the bees knees.

DH is out tonight with his brother watching footie so I had planned to spend the night on mumsnet-but ended up watching that Whistleblower programme about nurseries. Scary stuff.

Kim as others have said I would not worry to much about the OV kits. So saying I think I am going to use one this month as not sure what will happen with my cycle this month.

kim27 · 05/03/2008 22:28

thanks all for the advice, have just come off the pill after 12 years so should probably wait and see how long it takes my body to adjust (hopefully not long)

MrsPuddleduck · 06/03/2008 09:47

Morning all.

Kittens were v cute. Ds's loved them. They were only a week and a half old so were about the size of a large or fat Hamster (I can't remember who has the hamsters on here - I know one of you does!). They had only just opened their eyes. DS1 was surprisingly gentle with them (although he does behave angelically for other people ie my freind) Ds2 tried to get in their bed with them which was quite funny but he absolutley adored the mummy cat.

All in all I now want a kitten (what a surprise). DH pointed out this morning that I hate cats (this used to be true before yesterday). DH then started going on about costs and the fact that we would have to put it in a cattery every time we went on holiday - he does have a point. Plus if it wasn't for Poppins having kittens we would not go out and get a cat so it is probably a bad idea.

Anyway - I sent him off on his way to work with a round about request for a cat. He will have the final decision in the end.

My cold is a lot better today.

Juanitad - you owe it to yourself to spend the day watching TV and relaxing! Have fun!

HumphreysCorner · 06/03/2008 10:05

Bellie-you are doing fab and less than a stone to go. Yay!!!

willmouse-I am a cat lover and got my rescue ginger tom just before we got married against DH's wishes. I then collected him when we returned from our honeymoon. DH was NOT happy but now they are the best of friends. My boy loves DH more than me.

juanitad-yes, enjoy your day of freedom.

Must go as meeting my friends today.
Hi to everyone else too.

MJIM - glad you are feeling better which means the worst is over now.

I lost a stone in the early weeks of being pg but that was because I felt so rough that I hardly ate anything - so not much help to you. Can only think that your body is using many more calories than usual to grow your little bean.

Hi everyone,

Am in heaven! Currently watching the lunchtime edition of neighbours - haven't watched it in ages, I'm never home in time! I don't know who anyone is anymore, but it's perfect trashy TV for a day off!! Susan Kennedy is still in it, and she has just found out she has multiple sclerosis, poor thing.

Re: my day off dilemma, I went for a compromise in the end - I had a bit of a lie-in, then went in to work to catch up with some marking and planning, and now I have the afternoon all to myself and I plan on doing a lot of lounging around!!! So I feel good that I've caught up with my work, can look forward to a relaxed weekend, but also have time to relax today!!

mjim - as my longest cycle since coming off the pill has been 31 days, I'm not going to test before CD32 at the very earliest. I'm on CD26 today, so CD32 will be Wednesday, that's unless that cow AF arrives first!!! After majormoo's experience however, I will see if I can hold out a bit longer after Wednesday, and maybe test at the weekend. But all this talk of testing might just be wishful thinking! AF might show up first!

ceebee74 · 06/03/2008 14:33

Juanitad - I am going to try and hold out until Friday (which will be CD33) if I possibly can but I do feel this month that AF will arrive first

Hi all. Feel like I have missed lots of chat! Glad most of you are feeling better !!!

So,the 2ww is coming to an end soon for lots of you! Very excited for you and totally understand about waiting longer to test if you can hold out! GOOD LUCK!!!Glad all the DC are behaving today and the kittens sound gorgeous! ....it's me with the hamsters btw (Elvis and Einstein!)

I am very undecided about when to test. You may remember I am in Prague (bday pressie) over easter weekend. AF should be due while we are there and not sure I can face that coming when away having fun. Think I might have to test just before we go, so if I get BFN then at least I will be expecting AF. Does that makes sense??? Feeling reasonably positive so far as we have BD'd lots at the right time (I think)...reckon I might stop using these ov sticks as always say negative even though I have all the other signs! (EWCM, pains in left side etc)I have read on some other threads that ov can be quite easy to miss as depends on time of day - 4pm is usual time.

oohh it is starting to get exciting - all f the tests coming up!! I din't feel pregnant with dd - in fact I was 7 weeks before it finally twigged that I was pregnant so no signs does not always mean not pregnant!!

Carolyn I know what you mean - I am due when we are in Budapest so not sure whether to test before I go or not. I think i will wait until nearer the time so I can see if I have any 'feelings'.

Sounds like you made the perfect compromise Juanitad! Now you can enjoy the weekend!

ceebee - what did you get up to?

Willmouse - kittens are sooo cute though arn't they?

Majormoo - how was Alice today??

Hope you are all having good evenings and that those that saw friends today had fun!

Bellie · 07/03/2008 08:03

was everyone having an early night last night then?

ceebee74 · 07/03/2008 09:25

Where is everyone??

Advice needed ladies - for the last couple of days I have had some spotting - it really is a tiny tiny amount and is brown rather than red. Am on CD 26 now so any ideas what it is? AF not really due until middle of next week so is it starting early (although I have had a little bit of spotting each day for 3 days now). Any ideas?

MrsPuddleduck · 07/03/2008 09:32

Hi. Looks like everyone had an early night ! LOL.

I am starting to feel better. Well done to all of you who managed to keep of the painkillers. I was far to ill to move so had no choice as taking to my bed was not an option!

HC - I need your help.. How much does your cat cost you? If you don't mind asking. DH (miserable git) said a cat was too expensive to keep and maintain . Friend says I don't have to pay for a cat (but would be obliged to give her the £20 she is asking for the others as she is v young and struggling financially - hence the fact she bought a kitten for her DD and couldn't afford to have it spayed - aparently the kitten sales are going to pay for the operation ). We would have to have pet insurance which I think is about £5 a month. Set of injections £20. How much is a bag of catfood and how much do they get through in a week? I also need to find out how much to get them 'done' I am guessing £100 and how much to put in a cattery for two weeks - surely not as much as kenneling a dog?

Sorry to all of you who are ttc - cat subject is completely unrelated and long winded.

I am now on CD28 but do not expect AF to arrive until next Wednesday by my calculations (CD33) so, like MJIM will not be testing until at least CD37

MrsPuddleduck · 07/03/2008 09:34

Morning Ceebee - we cross posted.

I start AF every time with about 3 days of brown spotting then she arrives with a vengance. However, with DS2 I had brown spotting for 5 days which then went away and hey presto!

It could be the start of AF (although seems a bit early) or it could be an implantation bleed. Fingers crossed for you!!!!!
