Ladies - you may now continue the chatting

Morning all

Just caught up on yesterday's chat as I didn't manage to get on yesterday.

Had a lovely day - it was lovely us all being together as it is such a rarity as we all live in different parts of the country. Also went shopping in Pumpkin Patch which I love and we don't have one near here but there is one near my mums - they have a sale on so I went a bit mad

Willmouse - am v of Mr Willmouse! Although DH loves going in and out of the swimming pool, he always wants me to go with him. Before DS, our holidays abroad were the highlight of our year but have not been brave (or rich) enough to tackle it with DS so have had holidays in this country for the last couple of years.

Am now 8 weeks and MS does seem to be easing very slightly (touch wood) - got my booking-in appointment at 11 this morning so am supposed to be working from home this morning but have so far spent all the time on MN

Hi to everyone else - will try and do a better catch up later

Morning all.

Had worst nights sleep ever - I was feeling guilty about Dad's allergy to the cat.

Holiday booking is postponed. DH says can hardly bear to look my mother in the face atm (over cat thing) never mind go on holiday. I will just get the books and then try and book in the next fortnight.

Can you believe AF has only just gone she stayed for a whopping 11 days

Off out this morning - DS2 has his two year check. Not worried about it at the moment but no doubt I will leave feeling paranoid!

See you later!

oh - hope everything goes ok ceebee - jealous of the shopping trip too!

Willmouse that you are still feeling guilty and that you have had to postpone booking hols. Hope ds does well at his 2 year check - sure he will but know what you mean about paranoid!

Off to see Harry and his Bucketful of dinosaurs this afternoon - no idea what it will be like but guess dd will love it.

Not feeling hopeful again this month - have the low dull backache that I tend to get a week before AF - so probably no BFP this month either

Hows the househunting soosy?

Belgium not seen you you for a while - everything ok?

Waves to everyone else - got go and try to get dd out of her pj's!!

ChocolateEclair · 16/04/2008 16:47

hello everyone

I will try to do some individual replies today!

bellie - hope the film? was good and dd loved it. Not sure I've heard of it tbh but sounds crazy! How old is dd? How many cycles have you done?

willmouse - sorry for you about not sleeping well. Think you need to relax a bit. You did say that after all your dad only comes round once a week so it's not going to be that bad surely? Hope ds's check up went ok. I am gobsmacked about 11 day visit of the witch. How many cycles have you done now also?

ceebee - hope your appointment went well. Please tell me all about if you don't mind as I would not know what to expect! Glad the MS is easing a little. I have never heard of Pumpkin Patch but it sounds fab! I'm guessing they sell unusual baby stuff??? Wondering where there is one near me...that's the York area really.

MJIM - glad you are finding time to pack for your holidays. I'm excited for you! I love Butlins. I bet ds will have a wail of a time...you might need a holiday to recover though!

Wave to everyone else and hoping you are all ok.

CE x

Bellie · 16/04/2008 17:12

Hi CE - Harry and his Bucketful of Dinosaurs was a theatre production - it is a kids tv show about a boy who has dinosaurs and he can jump in the bucket and go to dino world where the dinosaurs are his friend (just typing that makes it sound wierder than it is - you have to go with the flow with kids tv ) DD loved it although I have to say 6ft pink and blue dinosaurs strange!!

DD is 3 1/2 and this is cycle 16 of trying since my ectopic. I guess I get really down as it only took 3 cycles with dd, and only 3 with the pg that ended in ectopic. Still I keep trying and might persuade dh again tonight anyway even though cd22 - I am going for the every other night between each af or bfp approach this time!!

ChocolateEclair · 16/04/2008 19:16

hi bellie - I had not realised you had been ttc for so long. It must be awful for you. Very sorry >I don't know much about ectopics except they are dangerous. Do you know why it's not happening very quickly this time? I'm really sorry if you have been through all this - maybe before I joined up. Don't say if you don't want to obviously. Hope you manage to persuade DH tonight anyway

CE - Pumpkin Patch is a fab children's clothes shop - I think they are NZ based so the clothes are just a little different from the usual Next/Mothercare stuff. I only really buy stuff from there if there is a sale on tbh becase it is expensive otherwise. Not sure if there is one in York but there is one in the White Rose shopping Centre and Doncaster (which is where I went yesterday) - the Leeds one might not be too far for you?

The booking-in appointment was good - it was with a midwife who I saw a lot through my last pg (she actually lives up the road from me aswell ) so it was nice to see a familiar face. Got my scan date aswell - 15th May - yippee! They had just got a cancellation when the mw rung otherwise it would have been at least a week later.

CE - they just go through your medical history, your family medical history, organise the dating scan and decide what screening tests they need to do, take bloods, urine sample etc (at least that is what they do in my area). Unfortunately as my mum has diabetes I have to do a glucose tolerance test at about 28 weeks which sounds pretty crap to me

MJIM - scan buddies - cool! Mine is at 9.30am though

OP posts:
ChocolateEclair · 16/04/2008 20:01

Do you go on your own to the booking in appointment or does DH go with you. Sorry if I sound like a total dunce!

Very happy that you 2 can be scan buddies!

ceebee74 · 16/04/2008 20:03

I guess DH could go with you but they are quite boring so I am not sure what he would get out of it - DH stayed in the car playing with his phone Personal choice I guess.

OP posts:
ChocolateEclair · 16/04/2008 20:12

Oh that's what I thought really . I just don't want for him to miss out on anything exciting but if it's just boring stuff then I'd prob go alone.

Right off to pub quiz so have a fab night folks!.....will prob come last he he

Might have to pop into White Rose Centre if passing!

HumphreysCorner · 16/04/2008 20:28

Evening all

Fingers crossed Bellie.

ceebee-not long until your scan. DH never came with me to any MW appointment. My mum developed type 2 diabetes after DD2 was born so will I have to have a glucose intolerance test if/when I get PG?

ChocolateEclair-my DH is quite interested in temp taking but not CM-lol.

willmouse-hope things look brighter very soon.

majormoo-I sleep so badly in the later stages of pregnancy so am well prepared for broken sleep.

Waves to everyone else. Off to Hall Farm Park tomorrow so hoping it will stay dry.

Morning all

Had a +ive OPK on Tues night then a -OPK last night. When I put my temp on FF it doesn't register OV which I must have done. Then it says if your temps are flat which mine are this week then you should buy a new thermometer-but I just have. Am giving up on the temp lark I think and will be taking pot luck!

Off to meet my friends for a day at a farm so have a lovely day ladies.

Liking the bump mjim!!! I think it is wonderful and spectacular!!

hc - no advice about temping i'm afraid, as I havn't done it, but it sounds very confusing - maybe pot luck is the way to go!! (opks and fertility monitors don't seem to be helping me so have just gone with the everyother day approach tbh!)
Hope you have a lovely day at the farm.

Ceebee - sounds as though you have a great midwife team - and how lucky to have the same one as last time - I know I am not going to as I have moved surgeries, but I live in hope he (yes he) was great!

CE- how did the quiz go!?
I had an ectopic back in Sept 2006, and had to have a tube removed as it nearly burst. Have ahd issues ever since then - am having tests - had the HSG, ultrasound (which needs repeating after next af) and bloods, dh has had semen analysis (which we also need to repeat), and seeing the consultant again at the start of July, so at the moment no idea why taking so long . (sorry probably tmi)

Hope everyone has a good day - off to do some housework!

xx

Angel2008 · 17/04/2008 10:08

Hi all

Myjob - your bump looks fab!

Now I have some news. Still no sign of AF but am sure it will show up in the next couple of days (tests all -ve and even the faint line I thought I saw before has now disappeared!). But a couple of days ago we decided that we didn't want to stop trying for the sake of a holiday, it would basically mean stopping until the end of summer, starting again for a few months, stopping again, and then starting again in January/February 2009! Also a 24 hour flight would probably not be a great idea if I was pregnant when we went (even in my second trimester, I guess it is a better idea to avoid a flight of this length).

So I actually feel quite good about being able to properly commit myself to TTC again! (DP thinks the term "TTC" is hilarious by the way. Also if it's any interest to anyone I have discussed CM with him - only mentioned it though!) It was weird thinking this month that I would have to stop trying and distance myself from the whole pregnancy thing, so I'm glad to be back!

So Carolyn after hearing your story about ovulating at a completley different time than you thought, I think I will join you in the OV tests this month (well everything else has pretty much matched up for us!).

Do people buy them off eBay? I think evening is the best time to test is that right? And then you keep BD for a couple of days after (or do you have a day off to give the sperm a rest??). Also do people BD every other night before ovulating or just a little or again is it better to give the sperm a complete rest and let the little fellas build up??

xxx

PS Could someone also be very kind and remind me who is and isn't pregnant and how far gone the pregnant ladies are??

ceebee74 · 17/04/2008 10:37

HC - it sounds like FF is a bit doolally so I am guessing the 'BD every other night' is going to be your best option. Not long now......

Angel - I got my OV sticks from Ebay (I think HC provided the link) - but I have 40 in my cupboard going spare which I now don't need and I am willing to send to you for free - would you be interested in them? I would like them to go to a good home

MJIM - I am loving your picture of your bump - it looks fab! Mine is just hidden under flab

For Angel's benefit, I have started a list of what stage we are all at - please add yourself to it:

Ceebee74 - 8 weeks pg (due 26 Nov 2008)

Majormoo - can't believe Simon went last night although he was well out of his depth - bless him. But at least the totty Alex is still there

Hi Ceebee

Oh yes please to the OV kits! But let me pay you for them please. Is it possible to go offline somehow and give me your bank details - I can easily transfer the money to you online.

That is encouraging that you got pregnant using them! HC not sure what is going on with yours, although I have just done a big of reading up about them and your hormone surge can last as little as 12 hours before the egg is released so I would get going with the BD!!

Ceebee thanks for confirming your due date, am making a concerted effort now to keep up to date with what is going on with everyone else and not just myself!

ceebee74 · 17/04/2008 11:13

Angel - e-mail me your address to binns charlotte at hotmail dot com (without the spaces and change the at and dot to the symbols) - hope that makes sense. I honestly don't want any money for them as they didn't cost much in the first place and they are really light and won't cost much to post And they may just come with an extra sprinkling of baby dust

I never actually got round to using them as I got pg the cycle I was waiting to end before starting with them

Morning all.

Have been off into town stocking up on kitten supplies. I actually just went to Wilko so not quite as exciting. I have told DS that we can go to PetsAtHome ater school tomorrow so he can buy it some toys (he is V excited). To top it off my Mother (who has made my life a misery over the whole thing for the past two weeks) phoned me yesterday from Lidl to say she had bought it a cat bed as they were on offer . I presume that means we're friends again .

Myjob - I love your photo - your bump is quite big I was shocked!

BB - I hate Harry and his sodding dinosaurs. Have you got any of the books? I leave the parts out where Harry throws food at his sister etc...

Carolyn - glad you're back on board. Who wants a holiday of a lifetime anyway!! Baby will be MUCH better. You get the effects of jeglag for much longer without having to go to the bother of having a longhaul flight!!!

ChocolateEclair - can't remember when I started trying. We are being more laid back in the sense that we are just not using precautions and see what happens sort of thing (well DH is anyway! LOL). Since about November I think.

Ceebee - I looked on the website for Pumpkinpatch but have decided to get all DS's summer clothes from George as they are really nice and really cheap.

Hi to everyone else - best go and do a bit of work!
