I have a 2 year old and looking to start TTC later year. I made great friends on here last time when trying to conceive in 2020 so thought I would start a thread for anyone who is trying to conceive whilst looking after another child (in my case a toddler ekkk)

@Greenapples21 yes my Lap was a milk monster and needed nursing to bed and all wake ups so had to stop. He is and all or nothing baby I tried to refuse some feeds but just confused him. So 8days he was dully weaned and sleeping Through the Blooming night!!!!!!!!!!

All the best TTC. I think the heat should be letting up in a few days time.

MixedCouple · 10/09/2023 01:38

@Bells3032 omg yes I understand. I loved pregnancy until I developed ICP then I hated it. I ended up using castor oil at 39weeks which worked and kick started my labour (stupid Drs on my back trying to get me induced) had LO 6days later.

Mummysparrow · 10/09/2023 07:30

@MixedCouple how was the castor oil as I have had loads of dangers about it?

I am quite short at only 5ft so although pregnancy wasn't horrendous for me I got uncomfortable fairly early on and it was only seeing my osteopath once a month that kept me mobile. I also had extra amniotic fluid which wasn't picked up until I had a private 3d scan at 26 weeks. I was essentially carrying around a swimming pool 🤦
Not going to lie but I found newborn stage hard but I think it is because it was such an adjustment to my life.I am hoping I am better prepared this time around

Hope everyone is doing okay? Is anyone in their tww currently? I'm around 9dpo today on holiday and thought it would be a good distraction but apparently not 😂
Really trying to wait til tomorrow as that's what I did with my first ... going to be a loooooong day

SunnyHana · 13/09/2023 07:39

I’m 11dpo and got my BFP (vf) a 2 days ago. Also on holiday and was not able to keep distracted!! Now just hoping it’s a sticky bean! Only bought a few tests with me so having to ration myself.

baby dust to everyone!

Bells3032 · 13/09/2023 09:00

@SunnyHana congrats. fingers crossed for you.

Got my positive ovulation test today so it's time to go at it tonight woooo

sunflower1988 · 13/09/2023 11:00

@FirstTimeMumma2021 I'm also in the 2ww waiting to test 😬 why does it go sooo slow! Bought a big box of cheapies so I'm not spending loads on tests!

FirstTimeMumma2021 · 13/09/2023 12:12

@sunflower1988 I tested with a frer this morning and got a bfn however that was only 10 days since I got a smiley opk so didn't ovulate til at least day 23. Was so deflated as I got a bfp at 10dpo last time lol

Bumblebeemee · 13/09/2023 19:14

I think I’m around 10dpo too. We left little one for the first time at the weekend to go to a family wedding which was quite a long drive away so that was a good distraction from 2ww. I’ve not had even one tiny symptom since Friday so I think I’m out this month which surprisingly is making it easier not to test so far! Hoping to hold off to the weekend at least. AF due on Monday.

Wyewaving · 14/09/2023 10:30

Congratulations!

deliwoman1 · 14/09/2023 10:37

Hi all, just checking in. Good luck to those of you in the TWW atm! Remember it's not over until AF shows and all pregnancies are different!

I'm CD13 today. Waiting on my LH peak, which usually shows around CD15. Judging by this morning's weak test though, it might be later this month.

I've made a separate post about this, but I'm currently wondering whether to try and book a smear in. Technically I'm not due until next year, but my GP has been badgering me, so I'm wondering if I should book in early. Hope to be pregnant when I am actually due so it might be smart. But, I'm not sure about whether its a good idea to poke about there during the TWW? I'm also not about to postpone sex in my fertile window either to have it done. Decisions, decisions! Any thoughts?

deliwoman1 · 14/09/2023 10:39

@SunnyHana Just saw your post. Congratulations! 🎉

Twdfn123 · 14/09/2023 14:00

So I'm 4+1 today...am I getting ahead of myself to book in for an early scan for when I hit 7/8 weeks? Has anyone booked in so early? Feel like I'm jinxing myself... x

deliwoman1 · 14/09/2023 14:57

Congrats @Twdfn123! I've had one that early but just to make sure baby was in the right place due to previous ectopic. You wouldn't be jinxing yourself. Are you anxious or just excited to see?

Bells3032 · 14/09/2023 15:09

@Twdfn123 I would as they get booked up. usually you can cancel with 48 hours notice

Chocolatehobnobs2948 · 14/09/2023 15:17

Hi all, just checking back in. Ovulation is roundabout now so feeling the pressure. I can't quite work out when it is though...had a strong OPK yesterday and today as well. Today I'm having ovulation cramps (get them every month). Do you get the cramps when you're actually ovulating or just before? Lots of conflicting info on Google.

Bells3032 · 14/09/2023 15:29

@Chocolatehobnobs2948 mine too! got my positive yesterday morning so it was fun times last night. We did intend this morning too but our DD had other ideas and decided to wake up early

I've just booked it :) x

I just want to make sure it's a viable pregnancy really. I've also had a blighted ovum and without the early scan I never would've known so I find them quite helpful. And I'd rather know early if it's not progressing so I don't get ahead of myself! I know things can go wrong after an early scan but I don't think I could make it to 12 without knowing if we're on the right track! Xx

Chocolatehobnobs2948 · 14/09/2023 15:42

@Bells3032 Fingers crossed for this month! Hate the 2 week wait but have booked a beauty appointment and massage to take my mind off it.

an0uschka · 14/09/2023 15:45

hello! Hope it's ok to join!

I'm 28, husband is 36. Low motility, low morphology but normal count. We have a 19mo old. In the TWW of cycle 5 and I'm getting so deflated each month at the BFNs. We conceived DC in cycle 1!

SunnyHana · 14/09/2023 17:03

@Twdfn123 i also want to book an early scan, exactly the same reasons as you. Can’t imagine going to 12 weeks without something, need the reassurance before I get ahead of myself.

thanks @deliwoman1 and @Bells3032 all a bit surreal at the moment (not helped by being in the south of France)!

Bells3032 · 14/09/2023 17:10

So think i am officially in the TWW for first month of actively trying ever and feeling nervous. My family are the sort that conceive first time every time. it's a bit of a joke that our husbands just have to look at us and we are pregnant. But my husband has low fertility (cancer) and DD was a bit of surprise baby whilst doing IVF so never really tried to conceive before.

I've gotten this fantasy in my head built up now about getting pregnant this month. And having another girl. and i am so scared i am going to have serious gender disappointment though i know i would love them no matter what the sex. We've picked the name and i just adore the girls name. and keep fantasying about it.

I am so scared i am going to be disappointed

Mummysparrow · 14/09/2023 20:12

Congratulations to the positive tests 🎉
@Chocolatehobnobs2948 I get ovulation pains from one of my ovaries but not the other which is really odd. When I cam off the pill in 2020 it really caught me off guard as I didn't know ovulation pains was a thing.
I am starting my ovulation tests this month to make sure I am ovulating when I think I am. Although part of me is ready to start trying now, I am holding of another month or two so I can attend a wedding in June which is in Cyprus.
My sister and my mum only need to miss a pill to get pregnant. I conceived 2nd month with my daughter but I dunno if we will be so lucky this time around.

@Twdfn123 congrats! I totally get it, I booked one as early as I could with my first. I'm on some medication that ours me at a very slight higher risk of certain conditions so I couldn't rest til seeing all was okay x

@SunnyHana congratulations!! 🎊
