hattyyellow LOL at your achey left ear!!

GryffinGirl · 25/02/2008 12:52

hello ladies! I found you after some trawling through old threads

How is everyone this fine February day? I am feeling annoyingly perky, for no particular reason at all. No test results yet for DH, but he is phoning the GP later this afternoon to see if there is any news. I noticed there is an old (now revived) thread running about low sperm count/morphology which has lots of good advice including from Attila The Meercat, who is a bit of an oracle on all things problematic TTC. I think I'll print it off "just in case" so I have it to hand if it is not good news

Hope everyone else is ok. Bucky - so you don't need EWCM?! Brilliant! Maybe I was making a mistake concentrating on that . I know what you mean about having to pass off your MN frineds in RL without sounding flaky!

hello to hatty mibbes MrsEi jolly 07MTW madoldbirdand coolkat* and all the old timers out there. Sorry to anyone missed. Also big hello to anyone I haven't "met" on this thread.

Symptoms today - very sore (.)(.) which (as coolkat says) can mean only one of two things , but otherwise nothing and I do not hold out much hope for a BFP this month 'cause DH and I probably missed the OPK window due to him being away.

Bucky2008 · 25/02/2008 13:06

Fingers firmly crossed.

07MTW if it was today you were going for that scan, let us know how you got on. Hope everything is fine. .

Pmsl at Hatty and MOB congratulating me on my EWCM. Its not a baby but at least something is coming out of there i suppose .

MrsEi stop working and come visit us please.

Well, the party was a mental as I thought it would be....my friend just gets younger friends as she gets older so that she can keep partying . I think I have only managed to hang in there on the guest list due to my lack of dc!!! I eventually went to bed at 5.30am and they were still going when I got up again at 10.30am to go home !! I had to stop drinking at about 2am though to be able to drive home. I drove home at 12noon but still not convinced that 8 hours was enough to make me legal , but I got home safely anyway. Anyway, am hoping that egg had not hatched and that it didn't get drunk and lose its way as hatching was/is imminent.

Beanie sorry about TEW. . Its not going to make you feel better, but I am 35 and on cycle 10 shock (cycle 18 if you count all the months post mc without contraception!). Anyway, the doctor said it is scarily common for it to take ages these days. Apparently, he believes anyway, that drinking tapwater can be a contributor because of the hormones that aren't filtered out in the cleaning process from other women's contraceptive pills . Anyway, I just wanted you to know that you are not alone and that it might just take a while. Emmsy on the waiting room thread is 43 and having her 5th baby and she only started in her late thirties!!!

Bucky2008 · 25/02/2008 13:08

My maths is sh*t that should have been 10 hours...so maybe its OK.

Bucky2008 · 25/02/2008 13:17

OMG i just looked at the waiting room. I am on CD15 and haven't BD'd since last week...Friday night I think? My calm resolve has disappeared and I am freaking out that I have missed yet ANOTHER boat .

GryffinGirl · 25/02/2008 13:18

hello BuckY - glad the party was good

update - DH phoned up for his test results at 1.01pm and was told "we only give out test results between 12 noon and 1pm - please call tomorrow"

he wasn't even aware that you had to call between 12 and 1, 'cause no one had told him and you would think they could bend the rules for erm...like...30 SECONDS

so....tomorrow then (maybe)

GryffinGirl · 25/02/2008 13:20

Bucky - please don't worry about being CD15 [encouraging emoticon]. Maybe seduce your DP tonight to make sure?

Bucky2008 · 25/02/2008 13:24

Hi Gryffin I Xposted.

at stupid hospital. I have to ring up for dp about when he should take his test in but can never find a place that I can call from. Its not like you can ring up on the train on your way to work...'hello, can you please tell me when you take sperm samples?' . Suppose I better hide in a meeting room and make the call.

That is rubbish though...1.01pm. They probably don't turn on the phone until 12.03pm lazy bastards..... I am in a rage today about incompetant people...don't even get me started on the secretaries in our office and booking meeting room.......

coolkat · 25/02/2008 13:25

Bucky, BD, BD, BD til you can BD no more!

beaniesteve · 25/02/2008 13:32

hey Bucky - thanks for the sympathy. scary about the water, mind you there's so much out there to scare people!

madoldbird · 25/02/2008 14:10

Bucky don't panic!!!! If you BDed on friday then the swimmers should hang around for a few days (especially in your EWCM ) and then if you BD tonight / tomorrow that should be fine. When do you normally ov? Off the top of my head I can't remember how long your cycles normally are. (MOB slaps herself on the wrist for being a bad virtual friend)

Love the idea of water being bad... more of that champers anyone??

GG stupid hospital - like the results are locked away in a sealed vault except between the hours of 12 and 1??

Well, girls, it looks like taking the MAP is the way forward... sorry, trying not to be unsympathetic, but i do think there could be better places to post for TnotTCers than in amongst the hormonal whirpool that is TTC! (or is it just me...)

JollyBear · 25/02/2008 14:16

Hello all,

coolkat (low stage whisper )

GG That is soooooooooo annoying . It wasn't like he rang at 6pm, honestly would it have been that much of a problem to tell him at 1.01!! I really want you to get a BFP. If only it could be done with willpower alone

bucky What a party! I feel exhausted reading about it.

Hatty LOL at the symptoms

MOB Thanks for thinking of me I'm on CD 12 today and will have the scan on Thursday so I may miss the egg if I have a standard cycle but not if I am set for another epic! For a change I'm hoping for a late ov, and the all clear of course. I'll let you know on Friday how I get on.

londonmummy2005 · 25/02/2008 14:30

Hi all,
Great new thread, keeping my fingrs crossed for all of you!
I've got a question and no one else can help, so hoping all the knowlegdable gals here will know.

The past couple of months I've had a 31 day cycle ( did't check before that) usually start spoting on the 1st but full blown AF doesn't start until 3rd or 4th. I've looked on Babycentre for both dates and
tried to BD between bothe ov dats. I've also been using OPKs but everytime I;ve tested they've been positive- it's been around 5/6 days! It was even positive yesterday. If I count back 14 days I should have stopped Oving a few days ago. What does this mean? I'm in the states on hols at the moment so aybe their tests are different?

I've been Bd'ing every other day too jet lagged to do anything else, and feel bad as couldn't be bothered to bd last night either!

JollyBear · 25/02/2008 14:38

Hello london

The first day of your cycle is usually counted as the first day of proper red flow not spotting (I didn't know that till coming on MN!), so you need to count from then.

What sort of opks are you using? Lots of them are only positive if the second line is as dark or darker than the control line. A faint OPK is a negative. Some other ladies on here know more about OPKs though so may be able to help.

Bucky2008 · 25/02/2008 15:02

MOB Nice to see you . I usually ov CD15 or CD16, so maybe all is not lost. I can feel the egg hatching aches, but on reflection they started yesterday . My cycle is 26-32 days depending on ov of course! And if you remembered everyone's cycles you would be a genius (maybe you are a genius ). I am not remotely upset that you don't recall, and you are a very good virtual friend, especially as you have the champagne .

Bucky2008 · 25/02/2008 15:04

And London I think JB is right. You should not get 5-6 days of OPK positives. Are you sure the line is darker on all five days? You always get two lines on OPKs, just most of the time they are lighter.

toosoontotell · 25/02/2008 15:16

Hi,could I join you please?
Dh & I weren't planning to have anymore children but I came off the pill before Christmas as it didn't suit me. We were using condoms but recently have got more lax about it and last week threw caution to the wind .
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that my AF isn't due until around 6th March so now I'm going to be analysing every symptom until then! I doesn't help that I feel "fluey" at the moment-it is too soon, isn't it .

madoldbird · 25/02/2008 15:26

Bucky get BDing girl!! All is definitely not lost

london Welcome, can i just ask, are you sure you are definitely not pg already? The only reason i ask is that apparently that can also cause a +OPK. And as Bucky and JB have said, the line should be the same or darker than the control line, if there is an LH surge.

Welcome also TSTT. Hey, fluey feelings can be a symptom - apparently when newly pg the body lowers it's immune sysytem to allow the egg to implant... see - you'll become obsessive very quickly if you hang around here

Well, am full of doom and gloom now. I have familiar slightly gripping ache low down, and the greenish discharge when i wipe, both signs with me that AF is on her way. May be a couple of days yet, but i know the feelings all to well. Please can i have permission to sit in the corner, swigging champagne, shouting obsentities and singing horribly out of tune??

GryffinGirl · 25/02/2008 16:13

ha - I have the most brilliant image of madoldbird like some....erm....mad old bird shouting as passers by and swigging champagne out of the bottle, singing and yelling "bahh humbug to BFP's" . Thanks madoldbird, you've really made me laugh at that imagine, but of course, you can't have permission until AF is really here. It's not over yet! So sorry that you have got that achy feeling . Willing that it is implantation pains

Jolly - if BFP's were willpower alone, I would be like that woman in South America who had seven children in three years (two sets of girl triplets and one little boy). Although, come to think of it, that's not exactly ideal either

hello to London and TSTT

hi to everyone else

madoldbird · 25/02/2008 16:44

Oh GG ok, i will hold off acting totally mad!! I will still sit in the corner, though, and growl menancingly if anyone asks how to conceive a boy/girl/baby elephant, or asks if they could be pregnant, as they just kissed their DH 20 minutes ago. Permission to do that, at least? Pretty please??

hattyyellow · 25/02/2008 17:04

lol...Can I join the drunken wittering/singing/berating strangers? I know all the words to "it's a long way to tipperary" and am working from home today so am dressed pretty shabbily with a ripped knee in my jeans and a knackered old shirt on so I feel I look the part!

Have just had an e-mail from friend where we lived overseas, pretty much everyone in the whole toddler group i belonged to is pregnant again..'cept me...so feeling cross..

MOB really hope AF doesn't show

GG..can't believe your hospital clinic! What a load of jobsworths!

JB good luck for the scan, hope it goes okay

Bucky..confused, if your cycles are long surely you haven't missed the boat this month to BD yet? And what's that all about the tap water!? Jaysus, you can't drink or eat anything nowadays can you? I've been trying soya milk recently and DH read that that is a terrible thing to do when concieving
