I check it because I can feel how high up it is, how soft/firm and if it's open at all. And that can give you a rough idea on stage of cycle. I say that... but some months I have no clue regardless. Also helps for checking CM cos you get it from right around the cervix.
I do feel cervixes very frequently and I still found it extremely difficult to figure out on myself but once you get the hang of it it's helpful. Xx

Hahahaha @GCS34 I could never make any sense of it so I’m definitely not the best person to ask. I was also a bit scared of introducing an infection even though I washed my hands thoroughly. I think idea is around fertile time your cervix is higher and open. Verdict’s out on if it predicts pregnancy but I did not do it the month I got pregnant so no idea. My body produces quite obvious signs around ovulation so I don’t really need to do it, but some swear by it 🤷🏽‍♀️

I don't doubt it at all - he's an absolute lad. I like to think my child will be cool AF and I'll have to politely say 'aww thanks that's cute' to some vom outfit that someone buys and then Just sell it on vinted straight after. Realistically I'll be poor and will send them to playgroup with four different outfits on.

No, most of the time it does the opposite and I'm just really eager to see what it all feels like and how I'd cope haha.

@dabs9 I used to obsessively check my cervix multiple times a day and figured it changed a lot throughout the day it could be soft and an hour later it’s rock hard. I did have some brown discharge still earlier that has stopped now and cervix is closed so it was probably that. I check around the same time everyday during fertile week.

@dabs9 I bet it's so magical isn't it? I feel like in my head I'm like ah yeah I'll be fine. I'll totally not feel a thing, but I'm gonna take a guess and say that couldn't be further from reality!! I could grill you about your job all day. I binged watched one born every minute last year and now feel I'm totally qualified 😂

I always think I'd be able to manage in the pool with gas and air but I reckon a few contractions in I'll be all about the epidural 😂

Yeah I need to stop checking multiple times a day. Need to stick to morning and be done with it. But sometimes the EWCM comes later in the day for me. Will maybe just check it but not touch the cervix.

@A95x I cannot imagine being up at that time every morning! She's normally a between 6-7am getter upper which is altogether more civilised to me!
