Hi ladies xx I had my 5th scan today... the lining is structurally fine but still not thick enough, so I have another scan on Monday. Tuesday will mark 3 weeks since the baseline scan, so it's make or break now. If it's perfect on Monday, then my transfer will be 2nd October. If not, then I stop all the medication and have a bleed, and then start again with a baseline scan 😣

It would seem that our fertility issues stem from both my DH and myself; he has low sperm and my lining isn't always receptive 😟

I'm way past the point of despair, sadness, anger and frustration now. I'm just too tired.

RunningOnHope · 22/09/2023 22:52

Oh @SarahShorty I'm so sorry to hear you're still having trouble, it must be so frustrating.

@SarahShorty we have our fingers crossed for you. On my second transfer I had all the oestrogen extras from day one and not half way through and it made a massive difference xx

SarahShorty · 23/09/2023 11:40

@RunningOnHope thank you xx

@CR7 thank you xx Yeah my clinic said they're going to put me straight onto what I'm on now for the next go.

TheBirdintheCave · 23/09/2023 12:22

@SarahShorty I have every hope for the next scan! ❤️

SarahShorty · 23/09/2023 19:43

@TheBirdintheCave thank you lovely xx

RunningOnHope · 23/09/2023 21:04

I'm looking for hopeful signs before transfer has even happened - call me mad 😅

When I had my first transfer - fresh - I really felt the progesterone before transfer; sore boobs especially. You might remember the embryo did implant but was lost not long after.

When I was preparing for the first frozen transfer, I was on double the progesterone but had no symptoms from it - no sore boobs or anything. When the embryo was transferred, it didn't take at all.

This time, preparing for second FET, I'm on the double progesterone again and 3 days in I am gradually getting the sore boobs again; heart burn too though that might be unrelated.

So I'm hopeful that maybe that means the progesterone is working better than it did last time, and I might be more prepared for a successful transfer... we can only hope!

@RunningOnHope I hope so! 😬

CR7 · 24/09/2023 10:02

@RunningOnHope forgive me if I've asked before but have you requested a progesterone test on transfer day x

RunningOnHope · 24/09/2023 10:04

@CR7 no I haven't - I might ring them to ask.

Hi ladies xx My lining has started to thin, deteriorate and peel off the uterine walls, so the cycle has been cancelled. We're going to pick it up again next month. But if my lining still doesn't cooperate, then I'm taking a break from IVF until next year. Gutted, but it wasn't worth the risk to continue. I hope everyone is doing okay xx

CR7 · 25/09/2023 17:00

@SarahShorty I'm so sorry to hear ❤️

Triselly · 25/09/2023 17:06

@SarahShorty So sorry to hear that, it’s so crushing to get bad news. Hope you’re doing alright xx

TheBirdintheCave · 25/09/2023 17:11

@SarahShorty I'm so sorry :(

SarahShorty · 25/09/2023 18:26

Thanks all xx To make this day just that little bit more rubbish, my manager in his infinite wisdom just had to let me know that he's setting up a collections pot for a pregnant colleague about to go on leave. He did apologise and knows how hard it's been, but it did come across as a last minute slap in the face. It just doesn't get any easier, does it? Honestly, with the amount of oestrogen in me at the moment, it's a miracle I've not cussed him out yet. I'm going to punch my pillow later and I'm going to pretend it's him.

TheBirdintheCave · 25/09/2023 19:10

@SarahShorty Eesh that was definitely a daft move on his part :(

A while back now, my company had a big meeting about miscarriage/fertility treatment and how managers can support their staff through it. Those of us who'd experienced loss got to say how we felt our managers had handled it and what we wish had gone differently etc. It was run by someone external. Sounds like your office need something similar!

RunningOnHope · 25/09/2023 21:38

Oh @SarahShorty what a rubbish day. Absolutely the right decision not to press ahead but it must be so disappointing.

Fingers crossed the changes next time make a big difference, but just really rubbish for you now. Xx

Transfer day today, mixed news. One of the embryos didn't survive the thaw - so there was only one left to implant. Really sad about that little one.

But I'm telling myself it's better that it happened at that stage - if it wasn't going to work out, better then than being transferred and potentially jeopardising the other embryo too.

Transfer went really well - I had to go alone as we couldn't get childcare so DW stayed home with DD. But at last I got the perfect fullness of bladder, it went in really smoothly and I've got a lovely picture of it nestled in my womb.

@RunningOnHope I'm so sorry about the second embryo but I'm thrilled for you that the transfer of the other was successful. Here's to a speedy TWW!

Echoing this @RunningOnHope xx

RunningOnHope · 27/09/2023 09:50

Thanks both ❤️ right after the embryologist came in to tell me that one embryo didn't make it, I heard the woman in the room next door being told "all has gone well, they both look great to transfer" and that was hard.

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 27/09/2023 09:58

@RunningOnHope Yeesh, that's not great from the clinic.

Triselly · 28/09/2023 20:31

Thinking of you @RunningOnHope , glad to hear that the transfer went well, but very sorry to hear about your other embryo ❤️ Here’s to a speedy tww xx

RunningOnHope · 30/09/2023 14:10

Does anyone manage to actually take things easy after embryo transfer? I've been trying hard to avoid spicy food and heavy lifting etc. But life just carries on - DD has got a tummy bug which I may or may not catch but obviously I have to take care of her. She fell asleep at the supermarket today and I had to hold her for 15 mins while DW came to pick her up; she's heavy and I definitely felt like it strained at my core. But people do get pregnant while living normal life, don't they?

Triselly · 30/09/2023 18:01

@RunningOnHope I've heard a lot of doctors say that short of running an ultramarathon whilst shooting up heroin, there isn't really anything that is going to make a difference 🤔 I remember hearing a fertility dr also say picking up your other child isn't going to do any harm ❤️

My AF turned up super early this morning, a week ahead of schedule so was thrown into a panic as the clinic isnt open until Monday. So looks like we're starting stims again for round 2.5 tomorrow but without the dr knowing! 😬
