Hi everyone, thought I'd try making us a second thread now the old one is done -

@WholeZebra tomorrow! Main preparation today is buying a cake for the friend who's going to look after the toddler while we both go in for transfer 😁

@RunningOnHope how exciting! Come on sticky embaby! How old is your toddler? Is the cake for your friend or them?

My clinic says 11 days but I find it easier to cope with disappointment if I build my way into it. If I test early then there's still some hope if the test isn't positive but if I wait until 11dp5dt and it's negative then that's just a big blow of sadness all at once.

@WholeZebra haha it's for the friend - she's wonderful and rearranged her diary to be able to have my 2 year old for most of the day, even though her own kid is at preschool that day. Bonus is DD loves her so has been looking forward to tomorrow more than I am!

@TheBirdintheCave That's definitely how I've approached it so far. But then as we got negatives on day 7, 8, 9, 10 before a positive on 11, I wondered afterwards if it would have been better to avoid all 4x disappointments first... no idea how we'll actually play it this time!

Exciting news here that my sister is in hospital now to have her first baby - so it could work out that my nephew is born tomorrow the same day that my embryo is making itself at home in me! ❤️

So lovely to catch up with all the news from today. Everyone is so different with the testing and what works for them.

For me I preferred to stay in my hopefully bubble each time and then find out on test day rather than panic each morning and stress myself out.

It didn't get easier each time but I stuck to my guns. For me it was best as I couldn't deal with the rollercoaster of is it a line / evap / squinted each day. Numbering testing and looking for lines darkening xx

@RunningOnHope what’s the bet your toddler gets the cake 😉. Also such lovely news about your sister… Sounds like a sign to me!

I’ve been feeling so exhausted - I just fell asleep watching the tele for 2 hours. When I came round I had such a dizzy episode and was sick. Is that a symptom? Like I said… my new favourite game.

I’ve got my viability scan today. I’m so nervous 😩 I’ve been having some twinges and aches overnight so now that’s got me worried. I just want everything to be ok this time 😔

@WholeZebra Thank you, it’s so stressful this whole process. For some people it’s so easy and seems to go so smoothly, it seems so unfair.
I’ve just been reading some of your recent posts, what day do you take your test? Does your clinic do a blood test?

@RunningOnHope Today's the day! What time is your transfer?? 😬

@kg96 Saturday - so in two days time. The clinic initially said Sunday but we’re travelling on Sunday and it would all be so stressful, so they changed it to Saturday. They do do a blood test if the HPT comes back positive 🤞🏻!

@TheBirdintheCave They want me in for 12pm, transfer at 12.30pm. Though last time it was about half an hour after they'd said. Trying to work out when to wee last/when to drink lots so that my bladder is the right amount of full!

@RunningOnHope so excited for you! I drank my 1L in the hour before. I think I would have burst otherwise.

@WholeZebra I’ve got everything crossed for you for Saturday 🤞🏻 my clinic do a blood test every time, even if you know it will be negative 😩
I’ve always tested beforehand because I didn’t want to just hear about it over the phone. I’ve had 2 positives and 1 negative since we started ivf. I think it’s nicer to get the news yourself first no matter what the outcome, then you can process it in your own time and space. Good luck for Saturday ❤️

@RunningOnHope Eeeep so soon! I echo what Zebra said. My clinic said to drink in the hour before the transfer. It's the thing I'm the most stressed out about as I hate feeling like I need to wee 😂

@TheBirdintheCave @RunningOnHope that's the worst part of the transfer for me. I hate, hate, hate needing to wee. I downed 2 litres of water for my last transfer. I had to drink it rapidly and not stop until it was all in, I felt so sick like I was going to throw it all straight back up. If there was a way to do these procedures without a full bladder, they would have found it by now.

I didn't start drinking until half an hour before. Otherwise if they are running late you'll be holding on for too long xx

That sounds like a better idea 😅

We're getting a takeaway tomorrow night to celebrate. Does anyone else have anything planned to mark the occasion of embryo on board day?
