New thread for those of us now trying for the first babies of 2024, may we all be lucky this month!

I'm CD1 today of cycle 6 ttc my second.
Had a chemical at the end of February and lots of illness in March so revved up to give this month all I've got!

@Favofit I think the left line looks lighter so not quite positive yet. If you have a 28 day cycle your peak may not happen until day 14 so I’d keep testing twice a day. It says to keep inputting your results for a few days after high as it then changes to peak when it starts coming down again. No harm in BD though. Go for it.

@Favofit you’ll get there lovely, I remember the first few times I tried to track I just couldn’t catch it but I got there in the end. Mine came on really quickly and went really quickly this month so very nearly missed it. If you don’t catch it, doesn’t mean it’s not happening, it can just be very easy to miss if you have a quick surge. Xx

Hey thought I'd drop back in again. This time decided to ignore all OPKs but then took one and it was negative. My ovia app said I should've ovulated on 8th May. But test was blank - using clear blue two day one. Not sure if I'd missed the window or ovulated a bit later so I'm not feeling hopeful. Still symptom spotting with a weird pulling sensation in where I think my uterus is - really should've paid attention in biology haha!Reckon I'm about 6 or 7dpo. Anyone else madly symptom spotting? Or is it just me? 🙈

Hey ladies

OH has had his spent analysis results back today showing low sperm count, and I’m so upset and he is very “it is what it is”. Is it normal for me to be more upset :( to be honest he’s not someone who really talks about how he feels but I know he wants this just as much as me! 💔

oh love! So sorry .,. My OH dealt with it similarly he seemed to shrug it off but I know he felt guilty/ sad and to blame.

firstly - ask for a copy of the results and see how low they really mean, it doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant if it’s just lower than average.
so knowing the facts might ease your mind.
also consider if it’s just low count nothing else, morphology etc etc..

my OH for example was 8ml instead of the average 15 and … after 3 months of diet, lifestyle and vitamins… his are now
normal. Clearly not a guarantee but it’s something!
I’m not pregnant yet though hahah… so still got to cross that finish line x

@lottieb92 oh thank you so much!!! I will definitely get a copy of the report to see what’s actually what because they didn’t give us much detail at all!!

he has started vitamins just after doing the test so hopefully they’ll help! So surprising though as he has always been very fit and healthy! He eats well, exercises regularly, literally never drank alcohol or smoked! So was a surprise really!

@ShanTTC22 my OH also the same, healthy, fit under 30 / but lifestyle tweaks such as less peloton, not hot showers / baths / no phone in pocket laptop all that jazz seemed to help!

he also was on a course of antibiotics before his analysis which they say can knock out sperm count for a while!

and finally could just be a dodgy test result and a one off 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Call the GP for them to be emailed and fingers crossed things will look up xxx

@lottieb92 crazy isn’t it! He’s got to do another test so we will see if the changes we make help! I am intrigued to see the report though for a bit more detail!! Thanks for your advice, really put my mind at ease ❤️

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well. I was on this thread a few months ago and then joined January 2024 babies, but I’m now back as we have had a MC at 8 weeks. We won’t be trying for at least another 6 weeks but wanted to say hi and mark my place here xx

@LetsGo36 that's really rough. Sorry for your loss - it's not a great club to be in. I think quite a few of us are still here from the beginning. Just not much to report ha!

I’m a little confused - clearblue sells the early result pregnancy test and the pack states that in 78% cases it’ll detect a pregnancy 6 days before missed period / 5 days before period is due. Assuming 28 day cycles that’s about 9dpo (9+5=14).
Everything I read on mumsnet and most things online generally say that 9dpo you’re highly unlikely to get a positive result. Am I misunderstanding something?

sorry I’m a bit of a newbie, I have one baby girl but conceived her when we weren’t trying or calculating ovulation, just stopped using protection straight so she wasn’t a complete surprise but also I’m new to measuring cycles and calculating dpo

Hi everyone I'm back and just placemarking. We lost another a couple of weeks ago I'm off to see the gynae on Friday for the recurrent miscarriages this will have been our third consecutive mc in the past year it's been an emotional time. Hopefully we can get some answers and a fix and start TTC again soon 🤞🏼

Ah no I'm so sorry! Glad you're getting to speak to a gynaecologist over it, I personally think the 3 miscarriages rule is ridiculous, 2 in a row is not the likely so not sure why it can't be then 😫

@Daniki thanks lovely it is ridiculous! We've gone private I think the wait on the nhs is something like 6 months 🙄 tbh I wish we had done it after the 2nd one but in my head I was like it's just bad luck the third will be fine 🙈 especially as we already have a DS and we had no problems with him 🤷🏼‍♀️

Very tough! I paid privately after the second one just because I couldn't bare it to happen again and I have a prescription for aspirin, progesterone and steroids to start as soon as I find out I'm pregnant again so hopefully you will get the same? Maybe not the steroids it's not the norm but iv Crohn's disease as I was on steroids and another med when I was pregnant with my first so possibly the reason I held on to that one!

@bringmearainbow oh no so sorry to hear this. I've also had two miscarriages and had my first DD no problem. Maybe I should go and see someone privately. Let us know how you get on. Have you read miscarriage what every woman needs to know? It was recommended to me by someone who also suffered 2 miscarriages before having a successful pregnancy the third time. So there definitely is hope.

@Savvy21 I've read it starts with an egg which was a interesting read. I had my thyroid checked in early pregnancy as part of a full blood test the gp did for dizziness and my results since the MC are looking like I'm hypothyroid which could be an explanation for me but I will wait and see what the gynae thinks before I diagnose myself 😂 she might run other tests and find something else amiss. Tbh now we've had the third I really wish I had got checked after the 2nd I know hindsight is great but I can't help thinking if only esp as I knew if we had another I would go privately for testing. The doctor I spoke to about my thyroid said sometimes pregnancy or miscarriage can put it out of whack so you can have a healthy pregnancy then have problems after. If you went private I think some of the blood tests they run are not very expensive at all 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'll let you know what tests she wants to run when I see her Friday

@Angelselevenx hey lovely I'm ok have better days than others this one really hit me hard I was convinced at the BFP it would be fine. The EPU were great at monitoring me though so at least I found out earlyish. I'm hoping my cycle comes back quicker than the last 2 🤞🏼 my temp has already dropped so that's a good sign than I've had previously 😂

@bringmearainbow glad the EPU were good for you, hopefully you can get some answers after your tests. Did you temp the whole way through or did you stop for a little while?

My cycle was a bit out of whack after my CP but seems to have gone back to normal now 2nd month after!
