IVF April 2023 - looking for buddies!

Anyone out there starting/continuing IVF treatment next month (April 2023)?

I’m 36, first time everything, and due to start stims early April. Wondering if there are others who might like a thread to chat/vent?

If you’re out there and in a similar position, let me know!

And now I'm ill. Fabulous. Fingers crossed whatever it is clears in a couple of days. Last time I was this sick I had Strep A 🙄

@RunningOnHope Thanks :) I was terrified it was Covid but I feel a little better this morning and have a negative test so thank goodness I've dodged that bullet.

I survived! All done and dusted.

And they got 15 eggs!!!

I can't believe it, I was hoping for 6. The doctor said everything has gone perfectly.

So very sore and a bit woozy still but other the moon about that.

So we had four of the five make it to today. But one wasn't good enough to freeze so three really. Two have gone in the freezer. They were grade 2 (very good) and care maps of 6 and 7

The best one was also grade 2 (very good) with a score of 10 on Care Maps (which is the highest score). It's already started hatching, which I've been told is a good thing. Its now safely on board and I just have to wait. Obviously we don't know if there's any chromosome issues but I'm being positive.

Now it's just time to wait! This is going to be a long two weeks!

@charja100 That sounds a great result, so good to have a couple in the freezer as well as the one you're now carrying. So hope that little one snuggles in well. How long do your clinic want you to wait to test?

I'm about to start my Cyclogest pessaries - can't believe how many undignified parts there are to an IVF cycle 😂

@RunningOnHope They want me to wait until 2nd May which seems ages away!! Thank you, also hoping for a sticky little bean. Come on little em-baby 🤣🤍

Will you be doing a fresh transfer or frozen?

I know so undignified. I am lying on my bed doing my cyclogest pessary as we speak 🤣

Planning for fresh on Monday if all goes well. Preparing myself for the potential come-down of fertilisation numbers are not great tomorrow, but compared to the 5 or 6 eggs I thought we'd get, basically anything is going to seem better i think. Did your embryologists call first thing? I know they were really busy doing ECs at my clinic today so potentially lots of people to phone around tomorrow... will be waiting by the phone though!

2 May does seem ages doesnt it? Mine say 14 days from transfer which is probably the same. Can't really imagine I'll wait that long.... will you try to wait?

I had some pessaries which came with an applicator. It's an absolutely game changer I tell you!!! Are you always taking yours exactly 1/ hours apart or some leeway?

Today is day one of pessaries and inhixia as well as day 7 of steroids. Transfer is on Tuesday and I was told to test BH Monday. We will test on the Sunday before but no sooner. I've been here too many times and heard too many Store olives to rest any earlier than that. I find week one east and week two impossible. Xx

@CR7 @charja100 ooh we have a little pessary club. Not a sentence I ever thought I'd say 😅

So your transfer will be the day after mine @CR7! Is that the BH on the 8th that's your test date? That will be the same as me too then.

My worry is that my period will come before we get as far as testing, which is what has always happened when trying to conceive before IVF. Somehow it feels worse to see that it's failed with a period than a test...

@RunningOnHope yes the 8th for me. I will test on the 7th but no earlier. I've done two transfers in the past but only found out with a negative test that they haven't worked x

I'm going to give it a good go! Although I expect I'll cave and test early. Hubby has already told me not to 🤣 I've read no point testing early with fresh cycle though because of the trigger so will wait and see.

@CR7 lol at the "when will I learn to read before posting" I have the same problem!

So I've been pretty consistent with the pessaries so far and have stuck to the 12 hours give or take 30 minutes each way.
