Hi everyone,
Thought I'd create a new thread as the TTC Oct and Nov we're so helpful to me :) There were so many BFPs in the Nov group so statistics doing their thing there will be lots of BFPS in this Dec thread too which is super exciting.

Im currently on CD3 of my 5th cycle TTC #2.

Hi all,

Unfortunately it's another chemical... There's no change at all in 48 hours 💔 I'm trying really hard not to blame myself but I'm finding it really difficult not to. Hadn't had a drop of alcohol for a month and the day before my bfp I go and blow it... I know nothing was connected or anything but I can't imagine basically poisoning my body could have done any good... I'm so not having any more in this ttc journey so I don't feel this horrible guilt again.

Onto our fourth month of trying, and hopefully next time I get my bfp it'll be third time lucky and will finally be a sticky one 🤞🙏😞
I really hope no one else has been through this or similar, but if they have and have any success stories after 2 losses (find it a bit difficult calling these losses as they were sooo early... Last one was only at 5 weeks so feel a bit like a fraud saying it) but please do let me know! I'm starting to worry now and give up hope... x

Lastly things I've learnt these past 3 months that may or may not be of help to anyone...

  • Opk peaks - Having a "strong" peak opk means nothing... I had one that was basically only just as strong as the control line and got pregnant, I also had one much stronger than the control line and got pregnant.
  • How "strong" the line is on the first bfp you get doesn't nessecarily mean anything. I got a vvfl at 10dpo last month which progressed really well for a few days. This month I got a fairly obviously line at 10dpo which hasn't progressed at all.
  • Symptoms - they can be different everytime so don't rule yourself out if you don't feel the same as you did in a previous pregnancy.
  • BBT charting - mine have looked very different for both chemical pregnancies and looked different the first month trying too (when I didn't fall) so don't pin everything on that! The only pattern I have seen is that I personally have a dip in temperature the day before ovulation. Never had an implantation dip or anything.
  • Easy at home strips (opks) defo pick up a pregnancy! This has happened to me twice. Even this morning the test line is wayyy darker than the control line.
  • The pregnancy test easy at home strips are really slow at progressing, but both times for me have still shown some minor progression even when having a cp. This is the same if using opks as well (I know you shouldn't!) This has happened to me both months.

Thank you so much again to everyone for your love and support! I really appriciate it!

Good luck and baby dust to everyone ❤️✨

I'm still hoping this may turn out ok for you. The cheapy test defo looks darker and the boots one looks slightly darker too - how soon after taking the most recent test did you take this photo? The control line doesn't look at dark as the other control lines, so once it's dried and you compare it to the others the test line may well be darker. Can you take a photo now? What dpo are you? xx

uop21 · 30/03/2023 08:43

@HannahLouD oh Bless you, I do agree with previous comment I still think the line is still there and you're not out until AF arrives. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and hoping the best for you ❤️🌈

Angelselevenx · 30/03/2023 08:52

@HannahLouD I agree with the other comments as well, you're not out until AF arrives. The line is definitely still there. Hope you're okay xx

HannahLouD · 30/03/2023 09:01

Thanks all, I really do genuinely appreciate your input! I'm 12dpo today so I know I wouldn't have a strong line, but I also know I should have at least some line progression over 48 hours. These are my tests from 10dpo and this morning (both now dried) in person they look the same, in the picture the 12dpo one may look a tiiiinnnyyy bit darker but only because there's a weird dye splodge at the bottom.
I had this happen to me last month... I've attached that picture too (10dpo to 14dpo)... I had little/no progression from 12dpo and then a week later I started bleeding. So although I know and appriciate there's still a line, I also know what happened before so I can't help but think and know in my heart that it's happening again... x

My ics also progressed with my chemical last month, so I feel like they're not a good indicator sadly x

@HannahLouD sending lots of hugs it's really hard to get out of the headspace your in when you've lost before but as others have said it's not over until AF shows. They do say tests are not meant to show hcg progression they are just not made for that so many factors can influence a line. It's really good that you have a positive digital. Could be worth giving the gp a call to see if they will arrange some blood tests to check your hcg levels. In any case you should always inform the GP of any chemical pregnancy so they are on your record. In the uk they won't run any tests unless you've had 3 losses and chemicals count towards those but if they don't know about them they don't count xx

@HannahLouD I’m sorry lovely, I’ve got everything crossed for you that this turns out positively for you.

bringmearainbow · 30/03/2023 09:07

@Angelselevenx did you test today?

Oldermum84 · 30/03/2023 09:11

@HannahLouD test again in 48 hours? I've got everything crossed for you x

Angelselevenx · 30/03/2023 09:17

@bringmearainbow I have, I played around with the settings because I like to torment myself LOL. I'm sure it's just an evap or something, 9DPO today or 8 depending on which app I go with, I'll test again tomorrow and Saturday unless AF arrives before but she's due Saturday, my temp dropped slightly as well.

Have you hit your peak LH test yet or expected this weekend?

@Floralsandsmiles i also got a static CB smile last night but premom nothing over 0.3!?

Is it right that they are more sensitive?… I’ve bitten the bullet now and decided to just DTD for next 3 days (if I have any energy left)… but I’ve always trusted good old premom so confused isn’t the word this cycle 😖

Have you done more strip tests this morning etc @lottieb92 . CB are more sensitive, so your strips will rise gradually now. It just means with CB we catch it earlier and have more chances if your peak is quick.. lol
Is it 3 days from peak for SMEP? Xxx

lottieb92 · 30/03/2023 09:50

@Floralsandsmiles I did do one and still showing as low, I usually get a peak in the evening with Premom so I hope it comes tonight and then I can relax a bit!

Yes it’s my first month so I might be wrong but SMEP is .. every other day until you get a peak(smile) then 3 days 🙈

I managed last night and to be honest if I manage tonight as well I’ll be happy. I think the third and the extras are “just in case”

Aww OK, maybe you will get peak tonight on strips? I would say go by CB static though.
Yes it's my first month too doing SMEP. So we were every day evening, so DTD not last night but the night before...
So as peak is today is 3 days from today, so Thursday, Fri, Saturday, skip a day and then Monday? Xxx

Angelselevenx · 30/03/2023 10:06

@lottieb92 have you tried this website? It gives you when you should DTD depending on which approach you want to take and your O date

@lottieb92 I've just done another OPK now and it's 0.98, this morning at 6.30 it was 0.47. So CB definitely caught it early and now I have my peak! Lol xxx

bringmearainbow · 30/03/2023 10:31

@Angelselevenx ooh I can see a shadow on the first one 🤞🏼 what brand of tests are those?

I've hit peak today 🥳 we will dtd tonight but don't know if we will manage tomorrow too 🥴 we will have hit -5 -3 -2 & -1 so I won't be too sad if we don't dtd tomorrow too. 4 days in a row would be a bit much for us

@bringmearainbow me too, but not to the naked eye so I'm probably making it worse for myself. They're just ones from eBay, I'll take another tomorrow or tonight and see. I do feel quite crampy today so not sure if that's AF coming.

Woohooo!! Glad you've hit peak, at least if you DTD tonight you're covered!

Mummyme87 · 30/03/2023 10:52

@bringmearainbow also got a positive opk just now 👌🏻💪🏻 it’s 1.01 on premom but definitely positive. Whoop.

Aiming for sex tonight and tomorrow night, if we can do that we will have hit O, -1, -2, -5, -7 and I’ll take that!
hoping I have a nice thick lining with this later ovulation, ready for a little egg with a strong swimmer!

bringmearainbow · 30/03/2023 11:15

@Angelselevenx hopefully they are not AF cramps 🤞🏼

@Mummyme87 oh yay cycle twins 🤩 looks like we've got a few peaks on the same day on here exciting!

HannahLouD · 30/03/2023 11:22

Me again guys (I'm so so sorry!) Feel like I need to take you all on this journey with me...
I stupidly did another test with smu and the line is much darker... Surely this is just a dodgey test!? There is no way at all it can change that much from 6am this morning to 10.30 this morning? Especially when there's been no progression in between?! I'm so confused and I'm stupidly getting my hopes up a tiny bit now... I'm sure they'll just come crashing back down in the morning when I test again though. I don't understand... It must just be a bad test! 😩🤦🏻‍♀️🙈 Really wish I should have bought frer again and not been so tight with my money haha

Hi @HannahLouD I know you're scared, I know you have trauma from your last cycle and then again, because you had a little tipple. However every pregnancy is different and this may not end up like last time... you say it may be a dudd test now as its darker, what if the one this morning (where it wasn't darker) was Dudd?
Please leave for 48 hours and then retest. I say this with love and compassion, as I know this is tough. But these tests aren't made for progression and you are putting yourself through the ringer! You must have so much anxiety, bless you!
Forgive yourself for your drink you had, it won't make a difference. Enjoy this feeling at the moment and wait for AF timeframe to pass. Its not long. ..You're doing great, just cut yourself some slack. You are doing the best you can and you are amazing xxx

Great line! I had a feeling! I always test in the afternoon - fmu never seems accurate for me.

Angelselevenx · 30/03/2023 12:04

@HannahLouD that's a great line!!!

Babyhopeful23 · 30/03/2023 12:35

@Oldermum84 i agree FMU is not the most accurate and I have just been reading on the pregnancy app that NHS doesn’t recommend it anymore. I think as long as you haven’t been drinking loads to dilute your urine then an evening test is more accurate!
