Hi everyone,
Thought I'd create a new thread as the TTC Oct and Nov we're so helpful to me :) There were so many BFPs in the Nov group so statistics doing their thing there will be lots of BFPS in this Dec thread too which is super exciting.

Im currently on CD3 of my 5th cycle TTC #2.

Has anyone temped vaginally and had a slow rise after ovulation?
Last month I temped orally and had a sharp rise (pregnant but cp), this month it's a very subtle, slow rise (only 3dpo, but still). I seem to think that vaginal temp changes might be much more subtle? My temps before o were basically the same every single day for 10 days, which was nuts and they started out much higher than oral temping (around 36.72/73 the whole time apart from my usual dip the day before o to 36.60) after o they have gone to - 36.90, 36.99 and then 37.06 today... don't know if this is a bad sign that it's so subtle?
I know I'm probably over analysing but would be amazing if anyone has any insight!? Thank you!! x

Joining off the back of the November thread :/

Im 31 TTC number 1, cycle 3.

Really hoping this is a lucky cycle, I’ll even take a Christmas Day baby! Due to ovulate around Easter weekend.

I’ve ordered OPKs and a BBT thermometer with a plan to hit it hard this month.

Jennifer89 · 21/03/2023 10:11

Welcome @Mushroo , just think how magical Christmas will be with new baby. Fingers crossed for Christmas babies 😊
I am now counting down to 14 dpo which should be 31st March so will see..

Beth191 · 21/03/2023 10:16

Hello! Hope it's ok for me to join you all here, I'm 31 and TTC baby no2. Currently 2 DPO on cycle 2 of TTC, it took 11 months with my first and it happened the second cycle after joining a ttc thread so I'm superstitiously hoping for the same luck twice!

Baby dust to everyone!

Angelselevenx · 21/03/2023 11:08

@bringmearainbow my ovvie stick has completely dropped now, back down to pre surge colour so does that mean ovulation will be today? Sorry more questions!

bringmearainbow · 21/03/2023 11:12

@Angelselevenx I would say as you had your surge yesterday morning it could have happened late last night or early this morning. If it was me I would call today ovulation day and tomorrow 1dpo 🤞🏼 I would try and get another session in as early as you can today just to cover all bases 😂

Angelselevenx · 21/03/2023 11:14

@bringmearainbow 😂😂 I'll try as he's on nights tonight! Eeeek so I'll be entering the TWW tomorrow. Here goes 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Angelselevenx · 21/03/2023 11:15

@bringmearainbow just updated NC with the negative stick and it's saying ovulation is today and tomorrow 1DPO so thank you! 🤍

HannahLouD · 21/03/2023 11:16

@Angelselevenx Ovulation will occur around a day after your peak opk (but can be anywhere from about 12-36 hours afterwards). Some people have high opks for a day or two, some people's get light much quicker, everyone is different.
Do you chart your BBT? That's the best way to tell that ovulation has occurred as your temperature will rise around 1-2 days after ovulation and stay risen.
Also worth checking your cm around ovulation time too as that can help to identify it... some people have ewcm and some watery - these are both "fertile".
I know some people also check their cervix too... however, I personally have found that extremely confusing... side note to anyone who can help me 😅😂... I'm 3dpo and my cervix is higher and softer than it has been at any point in my cycle so far... I thought it was supposed to get lower after ovulation? 🤔 Any help appreciated 🙈x

Angelselevenx · 21/03/2023 11:22

@HannahLouD this is so confusing isn't it 😩 so I had my peak yesterday early morning so it could be that ovulation was early this morning and my surge has really dropped down. Here's my BBT & tests.

Can't help with the cervix though as I don't check mine!

HannahLouD · 21/03/2023 11:32

@Angelselevenx So confusing! I agree with @bringmearainbow Looks like you most likely will have ovulated sometime between last night and this morning. An egg lives for 12-24 hours so if you have time to dtd again today, go for it 😅😂
I also have a temperature drop like you before ovulation... you'll likely see a temperature rise tomorrow morning :)

I really wish I hadn't started checking my cervix... it's made me so confused and it's just given me yet another thing to worry/obsess over 🙄🙃🤦‍♀️x

bringmearainbow · 21/03/2023 11:46

@HannahLouD I actually think cervix checking can cause all sorts of worries over nothing and it's really hard to interpret. I have tried checking cervix in the past and honestly I think it can change and vary a lot throughout the day that one hour it will feel different to another hour. Are you checking it the same time?

HannahLouD · 21/03/2023 11:52

@bringmearainbow Thanks for the message! No, to be honest I've just been checking it a couple of times a day at random times... I guess if I was going to be doing it seriously I should have started doing it at a set time each day. I think I'll just stop now as like you say, it can just cause worry over nothing and I don't really know how to interpret it anyway!
Just got to try to be patient and wait the tww out... (although let's be honest, I'm not going to be waiting the full 2 weeks am I 🙄😂)

bringmearainbow · 21/03/2023 12:12

@HannahLouD being patient sucks 😂 when do you think you'll test?

TTCnumberfour · 21/03/2023 12:21

Hi hope I’m ok to join. I’m ttc my fourth baby and my partners first. I’m 44 years old and hope it’s not too late for me. Got a surprise BFP in December last year but it didn’t stick. Really worried that might have been my one and only chance. My youngest child is 12 this year. Hoping for a Christmas baby too. Ordered some clear blue ovulation tests so hopefully they will help. Currently on CD2 🤞🏻

HannahLouD · 21/03/2023 12:28

@bringmearainbow I got a faint bfp (but clear enough to see without having to squint or anything and pink) on 10dpo last month so I'm going to try to hold out until the same this month! (which will be next Tuesday!) I told myself after my chemical I would wait until at least the day af is due, but after starting to try again, that idea has completely gone out of the window! 😂 When are you planning on testing?

Also, welcome @Beth191 and @TTCnumberfour :)

bringmearainbow · 21/03/2023 12:33

@HannahLouD I think 10dpo is totally doable 💪🏼 I've said stuff like that in the past and only managed to wait for AF once 😂 I'm a serial tester and no doubt I will start at 8dpo even though once I've ovulated I'll be all like I'm def going to wait for 10 it won't happen. 🙊 I've had one positive at 8dpo, one at 10dpo and one was a surprise so I was 2 days late

HannahLouD · 21/03/2023 12:42

@bringmearainbow Ah I totally get you! I'm absolutely not going to start using frers until at least 9dpo... it's just too expensive to do that when it's not likely you'll see anything that early... saying that... I mayyyyy end up using one of my 20 ics at 8dpo (although I know they aren't as sensitive and probably wouldn't show that early even if I was pregnant) and then go from there 😂😂
My DD was a surprise (5 years ago with a friend with benefits 🙈) and weirdly I felt different the day before af was due so tested and it was a blazing positive... I wish it was as easy and stress-free this time round with my current partner 😅
I'm so scared for another chemical though and I keep on reading about people who fall the next cycle so that's in the back of my head... I'm going to be even more bummed if I don't get my bfp this month due to that, which is silly I know! Ugh. We shall see... 🤞

TunnocksTCake · 21/03/2023 15:04

Hi ladies, hope everyone's ok. I haven't been on here much because I got ill again just 5 days after I had norovirus last week and had to go to hospital on Mother's Day because my eye was swollen shut due to an infection! So got 3 lots of antibiotics and totally assumed I was out for this cycle.
BUT I have had loads of EWCM the last couple of days and just did an opk (partly out of boredom!) and it is a BLAZING positive! Like the most positive I have ever seeen!
Luckily my eye is a bit less puffy so dh might be able to see past it enough to dtd tonight... or maybe a blindfold 😅😉

TunnocksTCake · 21/03/2023 15:14

@HannahLouD I had a chemical last month too, and had 2 on the trot the two months before I fell with my daughter. I used to say I wouldn't test early because of chemicals but then if you don't test you don't know they are happening and I like to know in case I need to tell the drs... it's such a tough one because it can be so upsetting, but that works for me.
Not that I know where I am in my cycle now haha I'm either 5dpo or about to ovulate 😅 crazy how illness can affect it!

Glad to see lots of people doing SMEP - that's what we have been doing/ planned to do this month before it all fell apart, worked for us last time 🤞🏻👍🏻🤞🏻👍🏻

Natty83 · 22/03/2023 00:05

O day for me but not holding out much hope for this cycle, flu all last week and only dtd once. Anyone else about to hit 1dpo?
Does anyone follow the starts with the egg advice or any part of it?

Angelselevenx · 22/03/2023 06:33

@Natty83 I think I'm on 1DPO today. The TWW begins 🤞🏼

Jennifer89 · 22/03/2023 07:31

@Natty83 5dpo so on the countdown now.. Heard of the book starts with the egg but not too familiar..

Do any of you ladies ask your partners to join when you do pregnancy tests? I haven't personally, I figure I will just tell dh when positive and if negative around 14 dpo I just let him know..
