Thread no 2 as thread 1 was so close to getting full!

As a reminder this is a positive support thread for anyone preparing and planning to start TTC in 2023 💖

If you join start by introducing yourself with your age. what no. you're trying for and when you plan on starting plus any goals you might have before then! for example:

@DanisEndo
Age 27
TTC No.1
Starting Sep 23
I want to:

  • loose some weight (would like to get down to a healthy BMI by exercising and doing all home cooking, nothing to major or restrictive)
  • do some decorating around the house
  • get married (1st September woooo!)
  • change job / company
I have endometriosis and PCOS, 2 surgeries down and hoping I'll still be all clear by the time we get to trying.

Theres a long list of us now so bare with me updating it as we go 😅

Good luck everyone!!!

@WolfMother326 Good for you guys! I'm really looking forward to carving out more time for intimacy too. Our toddler usually goes to sleep about 10/11pm so it's hard work! Thankfully this week he's been sleeping at a normal time for the first time in about 3/4 months so I'm hopeful! Also I think DH is keen to get cracking so I'm tempted to stick to the April plan but who knows 😅

DollyGx · 05/02/2023 20:41

@LisaJor22 wow that’s fantastic!! Congratulations! Must have been so scary but sounds like everything is ok so that’s great, keep us updated 🥰

I must have missed the yams chat, please inform me!! adds yams to online food shop

happyfeet5 · 05/02/2023 20:44

@Mushroo @TrudyProud I also thought of yams! Haha.

Congratulations @LisaJor22 that is such wonderful news xx

PeopleAreToads · 05/02/2023 21:42

@LisaJor22 congratulations! It's always lovely to hear these stories

TrudyProud · 05/02/2023 23:41

@DollyGx Yams (cassava products) increase the likelihood of twin pregnancies. Numerous studies have pointed towards this. Another study focused on populations in eastern Nigeria (they eat high yam/cassava diets) have the highest percentage of twin births globally.

DollyGx · 06/02/2023 00:18

@TrudyProud thank you! Wow that’s so interesting, need to up my yam intake from now on 🤣🤣

LongDistanceLife · 06/02/2023 09:33

I took my coil out a few days ago. I’ve had insomnia the last couple of nights and sore boobs — hoping my body gets back to normal quickly!

Using condoms for now but hoping to be ready to try in March. My partner has done amazingly and is totally off vaping now 🙂

Floralsandsmiles · 06/02/2023 10:17

Morning ladies! Hope you are all well?
Has anyone heard of anyone saying that conceive plus (lubricant) worked better than pre seed, or vice versa? Xxx

Floralsandsmiles · 06/02/2023 10:19

Also after reading various blogs, medical papers etc (I'm 36 in july and now trying), I'm worried about my age. Anyways I'm take folic acid, coq10, DHA fish oil and magnesium and calcium. The first 3 are for better egg quality (to help with age) and the latter two are for trying to sway to a girl. Lol
I'm interested in what the rest of you are taking? Xxx

Lindsey02 · 06/02/2023 11:44

Morning ladies,

my period is due on sat or Sunday this week and I’ve done some hcg tests which are neg. So I’m sure I’m out this month but will try again.

I feel a little down but it is only our first month trying. This month will be tricky trying to dtd as it falls on half term so both my kids will be home.

still fighting the stick with my 2 boys or try for a princess to join them. I think also being 37 makes it more draining

SMG1992 · 06/02/2023 12:56

@Floralsandsmiles I've never heard of certain supplements being better for swaying towards certain sexes... interesting!
I'm taking the conception pregnacare (includes folic acid), omega 3,6,9, coq10, calc fluor, microdose of aspirin, vitamin C w/ zinc, vitamin D also spirulina, chia seeds and maca powder as "superfoods" that are supposed to help with fertility.

I was ovulating late last week as the 1st time since my MMC so I'm thinking I might take a test late next weeks - 14 dpo?
It's hard to know as I don't know exactly when AF is due as wasn't tracking ovulation when I got pregnant last time.

Hi!

O wow, what are your other supplements supposed to help with? Fertility chances?
Well I read in multiple forums and papers that magnesium and calcium enriched diets (Inc those supplements) helps with swaying a girl, but nothing is concrete and like anything, it's 50/50 chance. But alot of women coming back saying its worked, however the ones it didn't work for may not have posted with results. I also found alot of people dayibg olive leaf extract for DH to take "helps" too.. who knows though! Either way, my way of thinking is that at least in trying to increase odds as ultimately it doesn't matter each way. Lolxxx

In relation to tracking, I'm new to all this.. I only make a note of when AF arrives and that app is normally right (albeit a few days out on occasion) as to when the next is due.. this also notes ovulation days etc.. however I don't know how accurate that is. Its not as technical as some of the over ovulation trackers, they look very complex and I feel like I'm behind on all that and should know it all! Lol any help on this from anyone would be greatly appreciated!!
For you, maybe just track from this point onwards your AF and see how you get on? Thar may help with knowing when to test etc? Xxx

SMG1992 · 06/02/2023 13:21

@Floralsandsmiles Yeah I think I'll have to start tracking if/when AF arrives - I'm hoping it doesn't and I'm pregnant this month though ofcourse!
The supplements I'm taking are either good for egg health/ increased chance of implantation and reduced early miscarriage risk with the small mg of aspirin. They are all self prescribed but none will do any harm so I'm hoping they'll help me get my body prepared.

Mummymidwife33 · 06/02/2023 13:22

Yes I'm crossing my fingers for you that you won't need to track! 🤞however you will know where you stand next month if you have a rough idea 🥰 xx

LisaJor22 · 06/02/2023 13:25

Hi girls thank you so much for all the lovely messages regarding us getting the shock of our lives!! Haha

i just read identical twins naturally is a 3 in 1,000 chance I just still can’t believe it. I did begin to think something was different when I was literally exhausted at 6 weeks pregnant and thought I was being a drama queen but the tiredness was ridiculous! Lol

cant believe after such a scare where we thought there would be no heartbeat there was 2. I’ll never forget that moment for the rest of my life 🥰

and as for yams I had never heard of that! Haha we’ve only been together a year and are still very much in the honeymoon period so DTD every day 🙈😂 first time trying and 2 baby’s, crazy what life brings you 🙈😁 xx

Jennifer89 · 06/02/2023 15:13

Hello ladies, not been on here for a while as honestly struggle with ttc journey at times. Has only been 5months so realise I need to relax but getting down every month, especially when AF turns up..

I said to my dh prefer to just not get excited about it too much anymore as then I just feel more disappointed. Tbh even when do get positive test I will I am sure be happy but also not as excited after months of negatives. It will just feel more like 'finally, I am get pregnant'.

Also struggling being around people talking about babies currently. Sat in another room from two sister in law's recently just to avoid it..🙁

LeopardLover · 06/02/2023 15:26

@Floralsandsmiles I used Conceive Plus last time and it worked! It's apparently a little runnier than Preseed but it worked so I'm sticking with it. I'm currently taking supplements to build up folic acid etc before we start trying. I'm taking Pregnacare Conception, CoQ10, Omega 3 and will be taking Calc Fluor Tissue Salts when we start trying. I have been tempted to start magnesium because I get restless leg syndrome anyway! Tim Spector put me off calcium tablets a little 😅

Not sure about vitamins swaying the sex of a baby, it’s the sperm that dictates the sex not the egg.

I use conceive plus, have been since last summer, although hadn’t realised you were meant to take two at a time until a few months after starting!

CD12, usually ovulate on CD13. Had loads of Ewcm the last few days. Desperate to be in the luteal phase soni can look forward to AF and get back on ttc again

Take x2 of conceive plus? Is it not a lubricant?

Sorry what's ewcm? And luteal phase? Sorry I don't know any of this! Xxx

We had already been trying for about 9-10 months before using conceive plus and then fell pregnant within maybe 2-3 months of using it. I don't know how much of that was down to the lube or I finally worked my cycles out. Either way, I'll be using it again this time just in case!

Officially trying this month for baby number 2 eeek!

Due to ovulate this weekend which is good because we can squeeze in DTD in toddler's nap time during the day. I'm too tired and touched out in the evenings for anything else 😂

Keep having to remind myself that it took us a while last time and not to get too excited. Problem is the last time I peed on a stick it was positive so that is the only time that is stuck in my head! Conveniently forgotten about the 12 months of negatives leading up to that.
