Thread no 2 as thread 1 was so close to getting full!

As a reminder this is a positive support thread for anyone preparing and planning to start TTC in 2023 💖

If you join start by introducing yourself with your age. what no. you're trying for and when you plan on starting plus any goals you might have before then! for example:

@DanisEndo
Age 27
TTC No.1
Starting Sep 23
I want to:

  • loose some weight (would like to get down to a healthy BMI by exercising and doing all home cooking, nothing to major or restrictive)
  • do some decorating around the house
  • get married (1st September woooo!)
  • change job / company
I have endometriosis and PCOS, 2 surgeries down and hoping I'll still be all clear by the time we get to trying.

Theres a long list of us now so bare with me updating it as we go 😅

Good luck everyone!!!

Hey all! Nice shiny new thread. We're definitely going to start TTC in May now to avoid a Christmas baby. @DanisEndo can you please update my info next time you add new names? 😊

It's nice that I've taken 1 month's worth of vitamins, just a couple more months before we'd be ready to try and just being ready to try if we wanted to will feel exciting!

@SMG1992 I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope your hcg levels settle soon. I can't even imagine how traumatic it's all been. Fingers crossed things start to look more positive for you soon.

Checking in on the new thread. CD9 here so gearing up for a weekend of action!

buckingmad · 01/02/2023 06:35

Ugh I hate my long cycles! AF is over but I still have ages until I ovulate. First month of TTC#2 and I’m trying very hard to remind myself it took a year last time.

NoodleQueen90 · 01/02/2023 07:18

@Kittenhugger welcome Smile sounds like we are in the same boat, I'm also 32 and trying for no1. How are you feeling so far?

SMG1992 · 01/02/2023 08:22

Thanks so much for your kind messages ladies! I'm hoping now horrible January is over the rest of the year will be more positive.
My pregnancy test line has almost dissapeared ( a weird thing to be happy about I know) so I'm just focusing on diet, supplements and general health so when my body is ready to try again it will be in the best condition. I'm hoping to be able to start TTC again this month as apparently should be super fertile.

Thanks for the accronym link @NoodleQueen90 these boards should start making a bit more sense to me now!

I feel ok and trying not to get my hopes up as we’re only just starting but it’s really hard not to. How about you?

NoodleQueen90 · 01/02/2023 09:49

@Kittenhugger I'm exactly the same...swinging between being really excited and trying to calm myself down! I've been on the pill for 17 years so honestly can't even remember what my natural cycle was really like...noticed so many changes a week after stopping the pill though, some good some bad but it's weird to have real hormones again 😂

Just checking in on the new thread. I'm 3 DPO and it already feels like ages, it's going to be a long two weeks

Yup! 2dpo here and already googling ‘what happens each day post ovulation’.

luckily I have a busy weekend so that should help a bit, maybe…

Mummyme87 · 01/02/2023 10:29

Hey, I introduced myself in the last thread,
36
TTC #3
cycle 19 (although on second cycle break due to travelling abroad in October)

hey @Mummymidwife33 I’m also a midwife and ttc #3 👋🏻

Scarlettxo · 01/02/2023 10:35

Hi, jumping on the thread as I want to just let it all out!!!

TTC on and off for a couple of years, my cycles are pretty regular for the past year and a half (after very irregular the previous years). We decided after Xmas we would start fresh - had been for PCOS ultrasound in Nov and was given the all clear and they said there would be no reason not to have a successful pregnancy! No obvious cysts and only my PCOS symptoms and blood tests would indicate it. My partner has booked in to get his stuff tested also, so I don’t put too much pressure on myself!

TTC cycle #1 - I just got my period few days early today and was SO SURE we had hit the nail on the head this month - positive OPK and BD that night, and the alternate night. I know that’s not a lot but my partner is nightshift so very difficult to time this any better! Symptom spotted like mad and this morning woke up with AF. I can’t help but feel deflated :(

2023 will be our year and we need to make that happen!!!
xxxxx

Mummymidwife33 · 01/02/2023 11:16

@Mummyme87 hello fellow midwife! 🤞 we get our #3 baby BFPs soon!

CRbear · 01/02/2023 11:19

Hi everyone! A new thread already- wow!

i did a comparison of all my vitamins with a prenatal and found that I wasn’t meeting everything in the prenatal and couldn’t buy the extra bits more cost effectively than just getting the prenatal so I’ve switched. still taking omega 3 and inositol alohgriefs though. My husband has also switched from his normal multivitamin to a conception one. We’re just DTD every other day this month. Don’t know if we should increase to every day when I get a positive ovulation stick or just trust the every other day!?

feels like it’s taken forever but fertile window should be next week so here we go again! I’ve got a good feeling (again!) but let’s see! I didn’t get any EWCM last month so hopeful that will return this month. If not might need to look into some specific supplements.

DollyGx · 01/02/2023 11:41

Hi @Scarlettxo sorry you’re feeling so deflated, it’s just shit isn’t it. It’s tough enough trying to time the BD’ing right but that must be really hard if your partner is nightshift. I really hate that PMS symptoms are so similar to early pregnancy symptoms, I’m forever giving myself false hope! At least your cycles are regular now, hopefully your partner’s tests come back all good. This will be our year I’m sure of it 🥰🥰

Scarlettxo · 01/02/2023 12:00

@DollyGx

Thanks so much! Reading through everyone's posts you can see it's so so common 💗

I do wish everyone the best and good luck on your little miracles ✨

If anyone needs an ear to talk to, I would be happy to help. I know it helps me xx

CRbear · 01/02/2023 13:56

Hi @Scarlettxo - I’ve often wondered how shift workers, or those who work away Mon-fri or worse offshore or in the army working away weeks or months at a time manage to get pregnant! You have my sympathy. I was also frustrated when I felt we had nailed it and didn’t get pregnant last month (despite also having PCOS!). It took the pressure off me to know that even doing everything right you only have a 20-30% chance of conception each month! So it’s not that you did anything wrong. And statistically if you manage to do it 3-5 months you will get pregnant.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 01/02/2023 14:59

Hello all. Welcome Scarlett

Got my AMH results today and it isn’t great as they are 4.99. Once below 4.9 I would be classed as a low responder. Feeling deflated and worried I have left it too late (am only 34) but means I am even keener to get going as time not on my side. Definitely want to go the ICSI route as reversals can take 6-12 months for sperm to return and I want to get cracking.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 01/02/2023 14:59

On the plus side my thyroid and general blood tests have come back normal :)

Scarlettxo · 01/02/2023 15:36

@CRbear I know I always beat myself up over it & I really shouldn't! I'm hoping that we can have a good run over the next few months & hopefully BFP by Summer 💛☀️
It's easy to blame yourselves but why does TTC seem so easy when you didn't want any 😂?

@Hopingforno2in2023

Glad all went well re: blood tests etc ❤️ . If you don't mind me asking what is AMH levels? And how do you go about getting them tested 😅? I previously looked into IVF but I'd need a lottery win first lol xxx

Hopingforno2in2023 · 01/02/2023 15:50

AMH is a hormone that indicates how much ovarian reserve you have left and is a good predictor of age of menopause scarlett. From what I have been reading my level is more what would be expected in someone around 40 rather than my actual age of 34 and I am likely to reach menopause about 8 years earlier than average. Fortunately it doesn’t give a boy indication of quality of eggs so fingers crossed that the ones I have are in decent nick!

Hopingforno2in2023 · 01/02/2023 15:50

Any not a boy!

Hopingforno2in2023 · 01/02/2023 15:51

The test is a blood test and I had mine done privately as already have a child so not eligible for NHS.

Lindsey02 · 01/02/2023 17:22

Evening ladies,
what CD are you all planning on testing if you are in the Tww? I knew straight away with my second son that I was pregnant but this time I’m not sure. I’d love to conceive the first month like before but I don’t think I’m that lucky.
im 38 in April so my and my husband have said we will try till then and if no luck we will give in

madeofcodes · 01/02/2023 17:51

@Peachyplumm any symptoms at all? Last night I had cramping and now I have a sharp twinge on my right side 🧐
